Silent animation is an animation that was created without using sound recording, especially in dialogue. The greatest strength of silent animation is nonverbal communication which is all forms of gestures that are not words. This research attempts to examine Larva season 3  episode Garlic 1 and 2 by using the theory of nonverbal systems of kinesis and proxemics categories as a reference unit of analysis. This research aims to interpret the meanings of nonverbal messages by using the Gillian Rose visual methodology from site of self and site of production to find the meanings of nonverbal messages in Larva season 3 episode Garlic 1 and 2. The research uses a critical paradigm with a qualitative approach that focuses on scenes that are describing nonverbal messages in Larva visualization. The results had found that the meanings of nonverbal messages displayed in Larva season 3 episode Garlic 1 and 2 also reflected in recent life issues such as struggling, respecting others, earnest, and being patient. Keywords: Nonverbal Messages, Kinesis, Proxemics, Visual Methodology

The purpose of this study is to explain how was the Implementation of Online Passport Queue Registration Application (APAPO) based on TAM and social affordances. This study is a conceptual paper using qualitative approach with literature review. APAPO is used as a unit of analysis with Directorate General of Immigration’s public complaint data as a purposive sample. From the result, it was recognized that APAPO was not well-received by users and had low social affordances.

The purpose of this study is to describe verbal and nonverbal communication styles as well as obstacles in the communication process carried out by SPG. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are passive participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants were determined using a purposive technique. Data analysis was carried out through several stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The results of this study indicate that the communication style used by SPGs is more dominated by nonverbal communication such as showing friendly facial expressions, eye contact with consumers, ideal body posture, matching clothes and make-up, managing physical closeness with consumers, and using time as good as possible. AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah mendiskripsikan gaya komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal serta hambatan-hambatan dalam proses komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh seorang SPG. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi partisipan pasif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Cara penentuan informan menggunakan teknik purposive. Dalam menganalisis data peneliti melalui beberapa tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan, dan verifikasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa gaya komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh para SPG lebih didominasi oleh komunikasi nonverbal seperti menunjukkan ekspresi wajah yang ramah, kontak mata dengan konsumen, postur tubuh yang ideal, pakaian dan riasan yang senada, mengatur kedekatan fisik dengan konsumen, dan penggunaan waktu sebaik mungkin.

YouTube is a digital platform that allows content creators to stream their videos in exchange for money earned through the YouTube Partner Program mechanism, motivates many people to join YouTube. However, what they do not realize is the hidden effect YouTube brings in the form of alienation experienced by YouTube content creators as digital labour. This article discusses this phenomenon of alienation experienced by digital labours. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design, it offers a narrative research strategy to examine the narrative and discourse of alienation of content creators on YouTube. The unit of analysis of the study is the content of YouTube creators as digital labour. The findings show that YouTube is mainly a vehicle used by digital capitalism for the sake of profit accumulated by exploiting content creators from the videos they make. Content creators receive disproportionate or even no financial compensation from YouTube for the videos they produce for YouTube. As a result, YouTube content creators as digital labour experienced alienation from their work, their work activities, from themselves as a human species and from other humans.

91% of Indonesian people use mobile phones in their daily lives and 22% of people use laptops or computers in their daily lives and not infrequently they also play games from their gadgets or computers. Game is known as a mere intermezo, but with globalization game that should’ve been entertainment to drive away fatigue after daily activities has growing rapidly to become competitive with the existence of online games. In team-based online games one of the factors to achieve victory is communication because with communication players can produce synergies and a plan to win the game.  In analyzing this study, author uses the theory of verbal and nonverbal communication between players in League of Legends, in order to find out the forms of verbal and nonverbal communication between players in League of Legends. The main theory in this study is the theory of verbal and nonverbal communication. This Research use a qualitative approach that is descriptive and using phenomenology method. The results of this study indicate that in League of Legends, there are verbal communication in the form of in-game chat, voice chat, and through Discord. Whereas nonverbal communication is in the form of smart ping, and emotes.Sebanyak 91% masyarakat Indonesia menggunakan handphone dalam kehidupan sehari-hari serta sebanyak 22% masyarakat menggunakan laptop atau komputer dalam kehidupan sehari-hari mereka dan tak jarang pula mereka memainkan game dari gadget atau komputer mereka. Game lebih dikenal sebagai sebuah intermezo belaka, namun seiring berkembangnya zaman game yang seharusnya menjadi hiburan untuk mengusir penat setelah aktivitas sehari-hari secara pesat telah berkembang menjadi kompetitif dengan adanya game online. Dalam game online berbasis tim salah satu faktor untuk mencapai kemenangan dalam game adalah komunikasi karena dengan adanya komunikasi maka tim dapat menghasilkan sinergi dan rencana yang matang untuk memenangkan game. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana bentuk komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal di antara pemain dalam game online League of Legends dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal di antara pemain dalam game online League of Legends. Teori utama dalam penelitian ini adalah teori komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif dan metode fenomenologi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa dalam game League of Legends terdapat saluran komunikasi verbal yaitu berupa in-game chat, voice chat, dan melalui Discord. Sedangkan komunikasi nonverbal berupa smart ping, dan emotes.

The development of sharia-based hotels has become a popular business and it is believed that the development of sharia hotels will experience a drastic increase due to the level of business awareness of sharia concepts. This study aims to improve employee job satisfaction through spiritual leadership and Islamic organizational culture. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The unit of analysis is employees who work at Sharia Hotels in Padang. The results showed that partially Spiritual Leadership variables had a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction and Islamic Organizational Culture variables had a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction variables. Simultaneously the Spiritual Leadership and Islamic Organizational Culture has a positive and significant effect on Employee Job Satisfaction with an adjusted R2 value of 0.204 This shows that the magnitude of the influence of the Islamic Organizational Spiritual Leadership and Culture on the variable Job satisfaction is 20.4%.

Translation is a kind of activity of transferring the author’s idea from source language into target text, the culture involving. Some cultural words are often considered as the difficulties to transfer. “Eat Pray Love” is an American biographical romantic which has received many positive reviews and later in 2009, it became the New York Times Best  Seller for 187 weeks. This research is conducted to find the pattern of cultural words translation procedures used by the translator in translating the transcript and subtitle. The unit of analysis of this research was in the form of words, phrases and clauses in the movie entitled Eat Pray Love. This study has the aim to gain a complete understanding in translating cultural words, the problems that may occur then how to solve it. The descriptive-qualitative approach has been applied during this research then selecting the cultural words. The result of this study reveals that from 126 cultural words found in the movie. The frequency of cultural words found the most are material culture and social organization. The process of rendering the selected cultural words in Eat Pray Love movie into target language mostly used borrowing procedure

One organization that is fast and has a large number of worshipers is the Tabligh worshipers. Tabligh congregation when communicating not only verbally, but also nonverbally is a characteristic and identity, both in the form of clothes, caps, beards and perfumes. It also includes ways to eat and shake hands that have their own characteristics and are different from other worshipers. This study uses a qualitative approach to the phenomenology tradition, and this study aims to find out how the Jama'at Tabligh nonverbal communication. The results of this study indicate that Jamaat Tabligh nonverbal communication has a charge of nonverbal messages that are so attached to each activity and their interactions with fellow worshipers or the community in general. These nonverbal messages are at the same time as a confirmation of a Muslim's identity, which functions as self-control, as a medium to strengthen the brotherhood of fellow Muslims (Ukhuwah Islamiyah), and as a form of glorifying one's fellow Muslims (Ikramul Muslimin). And nonverbal nonverbal communication is a manifestation of his belief as a Muslim who must practice the teachings of Islam and his love for the Prophet.Salah satu organisasi yang cepat dan memiliki jumlah jamaah yang cukup banyak adalah jamaah tabligh. Jamaah Tabligh ketika berkomunikasi tidak hanya verbal, tetapi juga nonverbal yang menjadi ciri khas dan identitasnya, baik dalam bentuk pakaian, peci, jenggot, dan parfum. Termasuk juga cara makan dan cara bersalaman yang memiliki ciri tersendiri dan berbeda dengan jamaah lainnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tradisi fenomenologi, dan penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana komunikasi nonverbal Jamaah Tabligh. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi nonverbal Jamaah Tabligh memiliki muatan pesan-pesan nonverbal yang begitu melekat pada setiap aktivitas dan interaksinya dengan sesama jamaah atau masyarakat pada umumnya. Pesan-pesan nonverbal ini sekaligus sebagai penegas identitas seorang muslim, yang berfungsi sebagai kontrol diri, sebagai media untuk mempererat persaudaraan sesama umat muslim (Ukhuwah Islamiyah), dan sebagai bentuk sikap memuliakan kepada sesama muslim (Ikramul Muslimin). Dan komunikasi nonverbal nonverbal tersebut merupakan manifestasi akan keyakinannya sebagai muslim yang harus mengamalkan ajaran agama Islam dan kecintaannya pada Rasulullah saw.

Learning communication is the process of delivering messages from teachers to students. One of the objectives of learning communication is to form a student's disciplinary attitude. The application of discipline sometimes requires corporal punishment as done in Mambaul Hisan Children’s Islamic Boarding School Ponorogo. The purpose of this research is to describe the form of corporal punishment of teachers in learning communication at Mambaul Hisan Children’s Islamic Boarding School Ponorogo. This research was conducted using descriptive research method with qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in this research are observations, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques using George Herbert Mead's symbolic interactionalism theory. The result of this study is the first, the application of corporal punishment in learning communication in Mambaul Hisan in the form of verbal and non verbal communication. Verbal communication is done by the teacher by warning students who make mistakes, nonverbal communication by giving corporal punishment such as being pinched, beaten, or tweaked. Second, the implication of corporal punishment given by teachers to students is a deterrent attitude and so as not repeating their mistakes.

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze the perception of hospitalized clients in interpersonal interaction with health professionals. Methodology: this is about a descriptive study from qualitative approach, carried out in male and female medical unit of a university hospital located in Niterói city, from July to October 2009. During the structured interview, was applied an instrument with five opened questions, which were analyzed according to Bardin. The research project was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Faculdade de Medicina/UFF under number 058/09. Results: it were interviewed 22 patients admitted, and after analysis three categories emerged: 1) The client hospitalized perception facing the health professionals (sub-categories: perceived attitudes in interpersonal interaction and specific duties to health professionals), 2) Feelings posted by patients on approach by different professionals; 3) The use of language in verbal and nonverbal communication (sub:  appropriate and inappropriate language). Conclusion: the study identified the hospitalized client's perception in communicating with health professionals in daily hospital and its impact. Descriptors: communication; nursing; interpersonal relations. RESUMO Objetivo: analisar a percepção do cliente hospitalizado na interação interpessoal com os profissionais de saúde. Metodologia: trata-se de um estudo descritivo com abordagem qualitativa, realizado nas clínicas médica masculina e feminina de um hospital universitário localizado na cidade de Niterói, no período de julho a outubro de 2009. Durante a entrevista estruturada, foi aplicado um instrumento, contendo cinco perguntas abertas, as quais foram analisadas segundo Bardin. A pesquisa obteve aprovação do Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da Faculdade de Medicina/UFF sob o nº 058/09. Resultados: foram entrevistados 22 pacientes internados, e após análise emergiram três categorias: 1) Percepção do cliente hospitalizado diante dos profissionais de saúde (subcategorias: atitudes percebidas na interação interpessoal e atribuições específicas aos profissionais de saúde); 2) Sentimentos destacados pelos clientes na abordagem por diferentes profissionais; 3) O uso da linguagem na comunicação verbal e não verbal (subcategorias: Linguagem apropriada e Linguagem inapropriada). Conclusão: o estudo identificou a percepção do cliente hospitalizado na comunicação com os profissionais de saúde no cotidiano hospitalar e seu impacto. La investigación fue aprobada por el Comité de Ética de la Facultad de Medicina/UFF con el número 058/09. Resultados: se entrevistó a 22 pacientes hospitalizados, y después de  análise, resultaron tres categorías: 1) Comprensión de los pacientes hospitalizados antes de profesionales de la salud (sub-categorías: las actitudes percibidas en la interacción interpersonal y tareas específicas de los profesionales de la salud); 2) Sentimientos escritos por los clientes en enfoque por distintos profesionales, 3) El uso del lenguaje em La comunicación verbal y no verbal (sub: el lenguaje apropiado e inapropiado). Conclusión: el estudio identificó la percepción del cliente hospitalizado en la comunicación con profesionales de la salud en el hospital todos los días y su impacto.
