Customary marriage procession in the Toba Batak tribe is a process that is carried out repeatedly. In the process of the traditional marriage of the Batak tribe there are several stages that must be passed to achieve a Batak community's recognition of the marriage. This study aims to analyze the communication process that occurs in the traditional marriage of the Batak Toba tribe. The research approach used is qualitative with descriptive method. Data collection is done by observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The data analysis technique uses Miles and Huberman theories, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. To check and compare the validity of the data using the source triangulation analysis technique.The results of the study show that the Batak culture community has high values of customs in the marriage of the Toba Batak tribe. This conclusion is evidenced that in the modern era, Batak culture communities still use traditional processes such as the process of marhatasinamot, and the process of mangulosi in the marriage of Batak culture.  Keywords: Cultural Communication; Traditional Ceremonies; Wedding Procession.

Tourism is known as a borderless sector or has no separating boundaries. It is important to facilitate accessibility for tourist with disability, so the development of a destination will increase as it can be enjoyed by anyone. The research was conducted using qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews. Then the data are analyzed by qualitative descriptive technique include: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results revealed that the needs of tourists with visual impairment include: guide tiles, tacticle map, signs, showroom lighting, audio availability, Braille text and hands on. The needs of tourist with mobility impairment include: accessibility in parking areas, ramps, doors, toilets, pathways, signs, plenty of seats, enough space in exhibit room, and displays are in suitable height. This study aims to describe Reyog Ponorogo from the historical aspect, the negative stigma that has accompanied its development, and local wisdom that spreads to all its components. This problem is studied using a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews with data collection tools is the researcher himself as a key instrument. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive analytical with the process of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings of this study are as follows; (1) Reyog Obyog is an important and inseparable part of Reyog Ponorogo. In fact, it is very possible that Reyog Obyog is the origin of the Reyog Ponorogo which has developed and is known to the public today; (2) Reyog Obyog performance model which tends to be free, not bound by standards, is performed in the audience and is predominantly filled with entertainment, in its development various negative stigmas have emerged in the community, namely eroticism, drunkenness, and mystical performance rituals; (3) The Reyog Obyog has a great value in the form of a noble life guidance which is strategic enough to be used as a medium for building civilization.

The purpose of this study is to describe verbal and nonverbal communication styles as well as obstacles in the communication process carried out by SPG. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are passive participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants were determined using a purposive technique. Data analysis was carried out through several stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The results of this study indicate that the communication style used by SPGs is more dominated by nonverbal communication such as showing friendly facial expressions, eye contact with consumers, ideal body posture, matching clothes and make-up, managing physical closeness with consumers, and using time as good as possible. AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah mendiskripsikan gaya komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal serta hambatan-hambatan dalam proses komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh seorang SPG. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi partisipan pasif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Cara penentuan informan menggunakan teknik purposive. Dalam menganalisis data peneliti melalui beberapa tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan, dan verifikasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa gaya komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh para SPG lebih didominasi oleh komunikasi nonverbal seperti menunjukkan ekspresi wajah yang ramah, kontak mata dengan konsumen, postur tubuh yang ideal, pakaian dan riasan yang senada, mengatur kedekatan fisik dengan konsumen, dan penggunaan waktu sebaik mungkin.

Sekida Village as a Creative Tourism Village is an embryo for the community's economic development. The Creative Tourism Village has provided a space for participation for the community through various activities. Thus, this study aims to determine forms of community participation in supporting the development of the Creative Tourism Village in Sekida Village. The research approach used is phenomenological with qualitative descriptive method. The research stages consisted of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the analysis concluded that the largest form of community participation was manpower and expertise with a percentage of 82% and 72%, respectively. Based on their characteristics, the people who are dominant in contributing to supporting the development of the Creative Tourism Village through their participation are the older adults with an elementary education level.Keywords: Community Participation, Creative Tourism Village, Sekida Village.

This research aims to describe the types and meanings that appear in lexical cohesion in the novel Pergi by Tere Liye. The benefits of this research are theoretical and practical benefits. This research uses descriptive qualitative recearch. The data of this research are in the form of words and phrases contained in the novel Pergi by Tere Liye, the source of data in this study is a collection of texts in the novel Pergi by Tere Liye. In this research, the writer uses descriptive method, using documentation technique, namely reading and taking notes. The data analysis technique uses three stages, namely, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The validity of this research data uses triangulation theory. based on the results of the research found, there are as many as 97 lexical cohesion data in the novel Pergi by Tere Liye. The results of the lexical cohesion research data contained in the novel Pergi by Tere Liye include the types of repetitions as many as 55 data, which consists of 12 data epizeukis repetitions, 3 data repetition of tautotes, 14 data of anaphora repetitions, 11 data of epistropha repetition, simploke repetition of 3 data, 9 data for mesodiplosis repetition, 2 data for epanalepsis repetition, and 1 data for anadiplosis repetition. Then the type of synonymous lexical cohesion is 6 data, antonym is 18 data, collocation is 6 data, hyponym is 5 data, and finally equivalence 7 data.Key words: lexical cohesion, novel Pergi, Tere Liye

Masyarakat Jawa tidak lepas dengan budaya juga tradisi yang menjadi ciri khas daerahnya. Salah satunya tradisi sedekah bumi di Jawa menjadi manifestasi bentuk rasa syukur. Warga Plesungan masih menjaga tradisi ini meskipun mayoritas bukan petani dan tergolong masyarakat urban. Tujuan penelitian ini melihat sejarah tradisi sedekah bumi di era modern, makna yang terkandung pada tradisi sedekah bumi, proses tradisi dan dinamika untuk menyimpulkan eksistentesinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif untuk menggambarkan fakta tentang tradisi sedekah bumi.  Sumber data penelitian adalah informan dan fenomena tradisi sedekah bumi. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa tradisi sedekah bumi telah dilaksanakan turun-temurun sejak nenek moyang, masyarakat melihat tradisi ini wajib dilaksanakan dan dilestarikan karena banyak menanamkan nilai-nilai luhur yang baik seperti gotong royong juga silaturahmi dengan adanya perubahan tersebut masyarakat Desa Plesungan mengambil sisi baik sebagai pengenalan tradisi sedekah bumi kepada generasi penerus agar tidak hilang ditelan zaman.                                 Javanese society cannot be separated from the culture and traditions that characterize the region. One of them is the earth alms tradition in Java which is a manifestation of gratitude. The people of Plesungan still maintain this tradition even though the majority are not farmers and belong to the urban community. The purpose of this study is to look at the history of the earth alms tradition in the modern era, the meaning contained in the earth alms tradition, the traditional process and the dynamics to conclude its existence. The research method used is descriptive qualitative to describe facts about the earth alms tradition. Sources of research data are informants and the phenomenon of the earth alms tradition. Data collection techniques by observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This study concludes that the earth alms tradition has been carried out from generation to generation since the ancestors, the community sees this tradition as obligatory to be implemented and preserved because it instills many good noble values ​​such as mutual cooperation and friendship. the tradition of giving the earth alms to the next generation so that it is not lost in time.

This study aims to determine the branding strategy at MTsN Purbalingga Regency and to determine the level of effectiveness of branding management strategies at MTsN Purbalingga Regency in 2018 to 2020. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. This method is used to describe and analyze branding management strategies at MTsN in Purbalingga Regency and describe user responses to branding management strategies at MTsN Purbalingga Regency. The places chosen to conduct the research were MTsN 01 Purbalingga, MTsN 02 Purbalingga, and MTsN 03 Purbalingga. Informants from this research are principals, teachers, staff, and students. Then to select and determine the informants in this study, the researchers used a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques in this research are using content/document analysis techniques, in-depth interviews, and events/observations. The method used to check the validity of the data is the triangulation method. The data analysis technique used in this research is interactive model analysis. The stages in analyzing the data in this study are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that: 1). the branding strategies that have been carried out by MTsN in Purbalingga Regency between one MTsN and other MTsN are the same and some are different, this of course depends on the branding management carried out by each school. MTsN 1 Purbalingga, namely by improving the quality both in terms of achievement and non-academic namely character building, MTs Negeri 2 Purbalingga emphasizes efforts to attract interest in terms of performance and community service, while MTs Negeri 3 Purbalingga in an effort to attract interest by achieving good academic achievements and non-academic and performance services for both teachers and employees; 2). The effectiveness of the branding strategy carried out at MTs Negeri Purbalingga Regency in 2018 to 2020 is quite effective in increasing public trust.

This study aims to determine how the reading and numeracy skills possessed by elementary school students in grade 1 SD Kendalagung, RembangThe research approach used in this study is a qualitative approach (Qualitative Research). This research was conducted at SD Kendalagung, Rembang. The research informants were 6 grade 1 students at SD Kendalagung. Methods of data collection in this study using interviews, documentation, and field notes. The data analysis technique used is qualitative data which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.The results showed that the initial reading skills possessed by grade 1 students at SD Kendalagung were students able to voice pronunciation, students were able to understand the letters of the alphabet, students were able to read using appropriate intonation and fluency, students were able to read syllables, and students were able to understand word stops. . While the numeracy skills possessed by grade 1 SD Kendalagung students are students able to recognize numbers, students are able to sort numbers, students are able to count objects around, students are able to operate numbers (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division), and students are able to implement mathematical concepts in life daily.

ABSTRACTThis study aimed to analyze undergraduate student’s stress level due to onlinelearning of statistics for business course at vocational education during the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). This research was a qualitative descriptive study. Thepopulation in this study was all of the students of the Applied Undergraduate ProgramDepartment of International Business Administration of Politeknik Negeri Bengkalis.The samples were taken by using purposive sampling techniques that only focused onstudents who where taking statistics for business course since enacted online learningdue to the COVID-19 pandemic. The data was collected by using onlinequestionnaires and in -depth interviews with the students to get more detailedinformation. The data analysis technique used in this study was a a qualitativeanalysis consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, andconclusion. The result showed that online learning of statistics for business coursecaused 3% of the student having stress level in extremely severe categories, 13% insevere categories, 8% in moderate categories, 24% in mild categories, and 52% innormal categories. The stress level experienced by student were influenced by thegender, while the age of the students under range of 17 -20 years old did not affectstress levels.Keywords: undergraduate student’s stress level, online learning, vocational education.

The changing pattern of the grave pilgrimage as a social arena has undergone various changes. The tradition of pilgrimage to the tombs has been going on hundreds of years ago and in Islam. This study aims to determine how the pattern of changes in the grave expedition as a social arena. This article discusses habitus, arenas, social capital and practices that occur in society. Qualitative data with case studies are the approach used in the analysis. The data collection technique was carried out in three different ways, including in-depth interviews, discussions with the Nazirite tombs and document studies. Secondary sources were obtained through the old Banten museum, regional libraries, Nadziran documents, news on the pilgrimage site announcement boards, previous research reports, related papers, journal articles, visualization documents in the form of photographs others. The data analysis technique starts with data reduction, data presentation and concluding. This research resulted in several findings including grave pilgrimage as an arena for a family gathering, an arena for healing mental illnesses, an arena for work images, an arena for spiritual healing, an arena for hereditary ritual habitus, and a hall for symbolic power.
