The Iranian economy under the Islamic Republic has been strongly influenced by factors which lie for the most part outside the Iranian government's control, in particular lower oil sales due to the Iraqi attack and to the world-wide oil glut. One should not underestimate, however, the impact of the policies which have traditionally most concerned economists, namely, the government budget and monetary matters. The major thesis of this article is that the Islamic Republic's economy has been heavily influenced by an overvalued exchange rate which has: (a) forced reductions in government development spending; (b) fueled inflation as the government printed money to finance its deficit; (c) worsened the imbalance in foreign trade by encouraging imports and discouraging non-oil exports; (d) subsidized the consumption of imported goods, primarily benefiting the urban population, especially the rich; (e) distorted the allocation of resources in favor of commerce at the expense of production; and (f) benefited well-to-do merchants at the expense of poorer farmers and artisans.

Bank Indonesia Regulation Number: 17/3/PBI/2015 was issued on March 31, 2015 and Circular Letter Number: 17/11/DKSP was issued on June 1, 2015 that it requires mandatory on the use of Rupiah in Indonesia. The policy consists of economic, nationalism, and law perspectives. However, this paper focused only on the economic side with the main objective to see how it contributed to Rupiah’s stability. This study examines the impact of the exchange rate, as an important determinant of economic growth in Nigeria between 1980 and 2019. Secondary data was used and sourced from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Statistical Bulletin 2016. The econometric techniques used in the analysis were: Unit Root Test, Johansen Cointegration Test, and Error Correction Model (ECM). The result revealed that exchange has a positive and statistically significant impact on economic growth at a 5% level of significance. But the result further revealed that economic openness was found to have impacted negatively on economic growth. Based on these findings it was recommended that the government through its monetary authority such as (CBN) should redesign the existing monetary policies to maintain a stable exchange rate. Lastly, since the economic openness hurts economic growth, it is therefore suggested that the government should sustain its current efforts in diversifying the economy in the country and disregard the notion that openness generates economic growth in the country.

Globalisation has diverse definitions and concepts.1 Globalisation has many facets and has a variety of social, political and economic implications. This term introduced in early 1980, which never precisely defined, is a frequently used word in the political economy. It simply means growing integration of the national economies, openness to trade, financial flows, foreign direct investment and the increasing interaction of people in all facets of their lives. Globalisation also implies internationalisation of production, distribution and marketing of goods and services. International integration implies the adoption of common policies by the individual countries. Between 1870 and 1914, the world was integrated into a single word economy dominated by one power: Great Britain. The government functions were limited and faced many constraints like gold standard and lack of freedom to pursue easy monetary policy. Later governments were burdened by performing many functions like achievement of macroeconomic goals—full employment, economic growth and price stability. Freedom of using macroeconomic policies resulted in greater integration of national economies but at the same time they led to international disintegration and interdependence. Streeten (1998) argues that today global market forces can lead to conflict between states, contributing to international disintegration and weakened governance. Before 1914, the world was more integrated than it is today but it did not prevent the First World War.

Meanwhile, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in the agricultural commodity trading sector, namely the existence of a high price disparity reaching above 50% in several commodities such as chicken meat, red chili, beef, and shallots. However, there is price stability for rice, chicken eggs, cooking oil, and sugar commodities. In the trade balance during the Covid-19 pandemic, there was a deficit of 14 thousand tons for beef/buffalo commodities in the January-May 2021 period, while other staple food commodities experienced a surplus. To overcome the problems of trade and economic growth in the agricultural sector, the government should integrate the main market network, improve stock management and logistics, and increase production

This study examines the effect of oil and gas resource rent on economic growth of Ghana for the period of 2007 to 2019. The study uses the bounds test approach to cointegration within the framework of autoregressive distributed lags model as the estimation strategy. The results from the study revealed that oil resource rent had a negative and significant relationship with economic growth of Ghana. However, gas resource rent had a positive impact on economic growth of Ghana. Furthermore, the study also found that foreign direct investment and exchange rate had significant positive relation with economic growth of Ghana respectively. For government expenditure, it exerts a negative impact on economic growth of Ghana.  Based on the negative and significant relationship with oil resource rent and economic growth of Ghana, it is recommended that the government should reduce taxes on oil industries to help increase the production of oil and gas in Ghana. Furthermore, the study recommends Government and private partnership to ensure effective management of exchange rate fluctuations in Ghana.

Abstract: In Indonesia as a multicultural country, there is a diversity of beliefs. History proves that unhealthy exclusivism endangers pluralism. Differences in religious beliefs can become a potential for horizontal conflict if the state does not act to prevent this. In order to create a harmonious society, the government has launched the Religious Harmony Trilogy through the Regulation of the Minister of Religion and the Minister of Home Affairs. As citizens of Indonesia, Christians cannot neglect this harmony effort. This study aims to answer the problem of how the role of believers in social life in applying the Religious Harmony Trilogy based on the perspective of the Christian faith. This research uses descriptive analysis method through related literature. The results of this study indicate: first, Christianity teaches living in harmony among fellow Christians as members of the body of Christ. Second, Christianity teaches to be the light of the world and the salt of the world in the midst of people with different faiths, so that harmony can be created. Third, Christianity teaches submission to the government because the government is determined by God, thus creating harmony between Christians and the government.
