Group work which takes students as a central study pattern is great help for English learners. Nowadays many English teachers select this kind teaching and learning method in the classroom. But actually, the group study simultaneously presents many problems which seriously influence learning when it is carrying out in the classroom. However theories and previous researches suggest that peer and self-assessment can makes students have a clear learning target, discipline themselves and therefore generate better learning results. So in this study the researcher try to research peer and self-assessment that was put into practical group study in the classroom. This study answer the following question: what extent of peer and self-assessment prevents the problems occurring in group work?, thus this study aims to find the effective of peer and self-assessment in encouraging students’ attention in practical group working. This study used qualitative descriptive approach. Data was collected through observing, interviewing and analyzing of the implementation of it in the classroom. The finding is peer and self-assessment could effectively prevent the problems occurring and promoted the group study efficiency greatly.

AbstractTo uncover the causes that give rise to a lack of student interest in participating in language activities. To uncover strategies to increase student interest in participating in language activities in Arabic Language Study Program Faculty of Education and Teaching in IAIN Bengkul5.In this study, researchers used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection methods for this study by observation, interviews and documents. Language activities include teaching and learning activities every Wednesday, Weekly Arabic activities, vocabulary sharing activities, lectures, dramas. Lack of a clear curriculum led to the failure to achieve the objectives of this activity, the lack of relationship between teachers and students, the relationship between students and the students because many students does not make affect other students, the lack of discipline in the MLA, no media to learn.Key Word: Enthusiasm of students; Language activity; Teaching Arabic

This article deals with the training of Fun English Games Learning Method for English Teacher in MAS NU Batahan, This article shows several learning methods by using English Games funny and easy to understand, such as, Word Connect Application, Spelling Bee application, Stop the Clock Application, Typing Paragraphs for speed. This activity intends to enlarge some learning methods by using English Games for fun, and to give comprehending that English learning’s easy and enjoying. The method of this study used community development that collaborating theory and practicing in which using fun English games learning method in teaching English for English teacher MAS NU Batahan. The result shows that Fun English Games learning Method’s successfully applied in the classroom, the students are happy and can understand English learning easily and quickly through Fun English Games Method. It has benefit for teachers in teaching 4 skill, reading, writing, speaking and listening that must be mastered by students. In addition, School can use this method to improve the quality of learning in achieving very satisfactory results. Based on the explanation above can be concluded that Fun English Games learning Method for English teachers is very useful dan helpful in teaching and learning process.

Abstrak: Ajaran Islam membimbing umat manusia agar sukses dunia dan selamat di akhirat, seimbang antara keduanya. Karenanya, dibutuhkan pembekalan integratif agar peserta didik menguasai ilmu keduanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola dan kendala integrasi kompetensi spiritual dalam pembelajaran IPA yang dihadapi guru IPA di lingkungan Madrasah Aliyah. Penelitian difokuskan pada upaya  integrasi ayat-ayat Kauniyah ke dalam mata pelajaran IPA (Biologi, Fisika dan Kimia) di Madrasah Aliyah di lingkungan Pondok Pesantren-Jombang-Jawa Timur. Penelitian dilakukan untuk menjawab permasalahan: Problematika apa yang dihadapi Madrasah Aliyah di lingkungan Pondok Pesantren dalam melaksanakan integrasi kompetensi spiritual dalam pembelajaran IPA? Serta bagaimana pola integrasi kompetensi spiritual dilakukan oleh guru dalam pembelajaran IPA di Madrasah Aliyah?. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, angket, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunujukan bahwa dalam pemahaman ayat-ayat kauniyah dan IPA saling membutuhkan, sehingga perlu dilakukan sintesis simbiotik. Di sisi lain terdapat kendala yang dihadapi guru dan Madrasah Aliyah, berupa kompetensi guru, sistem regulasi, metodologi pembelajaran, dan bahan ajar yang tersedia.  Kata Kunci: Integrasi, Kompetensi Spiritual, Pembelajaran IPA   Abstract: Islamic teachings guide mankind to the success of the world and salvation in the afterlife, in a balance. Therefore, it requires the students to have an integrative debriefing to master both. This study aims to determine the patterns and constraints of the integration of spiritual competence to the teaching and learning of science subjects in the Madrasah Aliyah. The research focused on the integration of Kauniyah passages into science subjects (Biology, Physics and Chemistry) at Madrasah Aliyah in Pondok Pesantren -Jombang-East Java. This research questions are; first, what are the problems of Madrasah Aliyah in Pondok Pesantren in integrating spiritual competence and since subjects? Second, how is the integration format of spiritual competence and science subject at Madrasah Madrasah Aliyah?. The research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive approach, in which the data were collected through in-depth interview, questionnaires, observation, and documentations method. The research shows thatthe two, the Kauniyah passages and Natural Science are understood as a mutual need, or a symbiotic synthesis. There are constraints faced by teachers and educational institutions, in integrating both. Este artículo es producto de un estudio cualitativo-descriptivo que busca analizar los resultados de las observaciones docentes de los períodos académicos 2012b al 2014b, realizadas por el Departamento de Comunicación y Lenguaje de Unicatólica, y tomar decisiones sobre los aspectos a mejorar en el currículo del Área de Inglés, que impacten en la comunidad universitaria y sean replicables en otras universidades colombianas. Para ello, se utilizó la técnica de observación con docentes de inglés, con el fin de identificar y describir las principales dificultades y potencialidades para dirigir el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje.  Abstract This article is an outcome of a qualitative-descriptive study that seeks to analyze the results of teaching observations of the academic periods 2012b to 2014b, conducted by the Department of Communication and Language of Unicatólica, in order to make decisions to improve in the English subject curriculum, impacting the university community and other Colombian universities. For this purpose, an observation technique was used with English teachers, in order to identify and describe main difficulties and strengths to guide the teaching and learning process. Likewise, two categories of analysis were selected intentionally by the researchers: pedagogy and didactics; each one with their respective measurement indicators.

This research aims to describe the form of character discipline implementation in the 2013 curriculum of PAI field of study, the implementation aspects that will be described include: 1) planning of Character education discipline on curriculum 2013 of PAI field of study, 2) implementation of Character education discipline in curriculum 2013 field of study and 3) discipline character Education evaluation in PIE Curriculum 2013. For the smoothness of the study designed using qualitative descriptive approach, data sources include principals, curriculum representatives, student representatives, religious teachers and some of the students selected in snowball sampling, the technique of data analysis used is classification, reduction, and withdrawal of conclusions, to ensure the validity of data is used triangulation. From the results of the research known that: 1) the planning of character education is drawing from the Learning Plan and learning tools and methods used by teachers. 2) The implementation of disciplinary character is carried out through the Uswah Hasanah, routine activities at school, extracurricular and cooperation between the parents and the school. 3) The evaluation of the discipline of character education is carried out continuously through teacher observation, peer assessment and self-assessment.

The paper elaborates about the application of Arabic learning with the Cooperative Learning method, along with the results obtained after applying this method to 11 students of class XI MA Nurul Huda Pandan Jaya. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach with observation, interview and documentation research instruments. The results showed that the applied Cooperative Learning method is able to affect student’s outcomes, besides that students are more motivated to think more critically in solving problems in the form of discussions, and are more courageous to express their arguments both in their groups and to deliver to the class.

The purpose of this study was to determine the activities that occur during the teaching process of writing Recount Texts using the Discovery Learning method and to identify the benefits obtained by students from writing the Recount Text using the Discovery Learning method in the 2013 curriculum there is one learning model called Discovery Learning. Discovery Learning can help students to learn better because students can think critically and creative. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research respondents were English teachers and the tenth grade students of Ngamprah High School. Data obtained from observations and interviews. The results of the study revealed that the results of this study were positive. Students who are taught by using the method of Discovery Learning play an active role in the teaching and learning process. The composition of their writing also shows good results in terms of content, organization, Grammar,vocabulary, and mechanics. Therefore, it is recommended to apply this learning model to teach writing Recount Texts.Keywords:  Discovery Learning, Writing Skills, Recount Text

In today’s globalized world the importance of English language is beyond discussion. The thrust and focus of all the existing English language teaching theories, approaches and methods is to enable teachers and learners attain optimum success in the teaching and learning of English language. In spite of using all these resources in teaching, English language learning seems a difficult task to be mastered by learners. The contemporary models of communicative competence show that there is much more to the learning of a language and that include the vital component of learners cultural knowledge and awareness. Hence, this article by means of a qualitative descriptive approach aims to explore two concepts: intelligence and experience, and their interconnectedness, which opens new avenues to the teaching of English language.

This research is based on the teaching and learning process of the teacher still using conventional methods and students often play alone in the classroom during learning, take a walk in the classroom, pay less attention to the teacher when explaining the subject matter, leave the classroom without the teacher's permission, lack the courage to ask questions. as well as to fellow friends when the learning process takes place. This study aims to describe the increase in learning outcomes of Civics subjects through the use of the Picture and Picture method in grade IXA students of SMP Negeri 6 Muara Bungo Semester 2 in the 2018/2019 academic year. This type of research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a qualitative descriptive approach carried out in two cycles. The results showed that the use of the Picture and Picture method in Civics learning could increase student activity in the pre-cycle only 32.14%, 42.86% in first cycle, and 85% in second cycle, and the number of students who completed increased in the pre-cycle there were 10 students. , cycle I 19 students, and cycle II 28 students.

Based on eight educational standards in the national education law and based on the tendency of educational institutions to be more oriented towards increasing intellectual intelligence of students while increasing emotional and spiritual intelligence is relatively not a priority, even though these aspects are important parts that must be improved in students. The study was conducted to find out the counseling strategies of the BK in improving the emotional and spiritual intelligence (ESQ) of MTs Negeri 3 Mataram students. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach, the data collection techniques in the form of observation, interview, and documentation. The research subjects are the BK teacher, homeroom teacher, and school administration teacher (TU). Field results indicate that the strategies used by counselors in improving the emotional and spiritual intelligence (ESQ) of MTs Negeri 3 Mataram students with three program qualifications, including: 1) Teaching and Learning Activities, they are: (a) Addition of religious subjects, (b) addition of lessons in moral aqeedah, (c) recitation of prayers before and after learning; 2) Ubudiyah's activities include: (a) duha prayer in congregation, (b) short surah readings, (c) religious tourism; 3) Sosial Activities, including: (a) compensation for orphans, (b) sharing with the poor, (c) sosial services. Berdasarkan delapan standar pendidikan dalam undang-undang pendidikan nasional serta berdasarkan kecenderungan lembaga pendidikan yang lebih berorientasi pada peningkatan kecerdasan intelektual siswa sementara peningkatan kecerdasan emosional dan spiritual relatif tidak menjadi prioritas, padahal aspek tersebut merupakan bagian penting yang mesti ditingkatkan dalam diri siswa. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui strategi guru BK dalam meningkatkan kecerdasan emosional dan spiritual (ESQ) siswa MTs. Negeri 3 Mataram. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatifhttpdeskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitiannaya adalah guru BK, wali kelas, dan guru bidang tata usaha (TU) sekolah. Hasil lapangan menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang digunakan guru BK dalam meningkatkan kecerdasar emosional dan spiritual (ESQ) siswa MTs. Negeri 3 Mataram dengan tiga kualifikasi program, antara lain: 1) Kegiatan Belajar Mengajar, terdapat: (a) Penambahan mata pelajaran agama, (b) penambahan pelajaran aqidah akhlak, (c) pembacaan doa setiap sebelum dan setelah pembelajaran; 2) Kegiatan Ubudiyah, terdapat: (a) sholat duha berjamaah, (b) pembacaan sutrat-surat pendek, (c) wisata religi; 3) Kegiatan Sosial, meliputi: (a) santunan anak yatim, (b) berbagi kepada kaum miskin, (c) bakti sosial.
