In the early 2010s, Japanese society recognized and experienced a panic about increasing infertility and people's lack of knowledge about human reproduction. This paper focuses on several graphs that misrepresented or distorted scientific findings that were used in the campaign related to this panic and explores (1) how the graphs were made, used, and authorized, and (2) how they contributed to changes in discourses and policies. Findings are the following: (1) The graphs were made in the field of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive medicine by questionable methods, including falsifying, trimming, and misunderstanding of data. (2) Researchers in the field of fertility study relied on secondary and tertiary sources thus ignoring and compounding errors. (3) Such inauthentic research was approved and politically mobilized by professional organizations, rather than being penalized or criticized. (4) Discourse based on such unscientific knowledge may have encouraged a pronatalist policy of promoting early marriage and education about human fertility and life planning, targeted at teenage girls.

As the times and technology became more sophisticated, human needs and mobility also increased. One such technology is vehicle. It cannot be denied that motorized vehicles and cars have now become the most important parts of everyday life. Vehicle protection is very important to keep vehicles safe, especially in areas prone to theft. Protection of the vehicle itself is divided into two ways, namely by personal and insurance methods. The fact is that vehicle protection carried out by Desa Sayang residents is still very minimal, which is caused by a lack of knowledge and understanding of citizens about the importance of vehicle protection. Seen from only a few residents who have insurance services to protect their vehicles. Measuring the perceptions of residents of RW 03 Desa Sayang, Jatinangor Subdistrict, Sumedang Regency is divided into 2 things, namely knowledge (cognition) and behavior (konasi). Of the 97 informants interviewed, it was found that people's knowledge of insurance was not good. While their knowledge of vehicle protection in general is quite good. In addition, vehicle ownership also affects individual knowledge of insurance and vehicle protection. Unfortunately, protection of vehicles in the form of insurance is rarely done by residents because most are hampered in terms of costs and feel they do not need it. Therefore, a perception survey and vehicle protection socialization were made in Sayang Village, Jatinangor Sub-District, Sumedang Regency so that residents would be more aware of maintaining their vehicles.

In this article, the latest data about the personal book collection items of King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania Sigismund II Augustus in Vilnius University (VU) Library are presented. The authors that have been doing research on these books have not ascertained all of the embossed images that were used for cover decoration and have not identified the locations of where these books were bound and have not disclosed all of the provenances. In order to amend the lack of knowledge about the books of Sigismund II Augustus in VU library, the book covers of the King’s personal library were reviewed de visu and decorative ornaments were described. The ownership signs of the books were registered once again. While describing and comparing these books with the copies in various libraries of the world, the number of physical books (14) and publications in composite volumes (21) kept in VU library was assessed. The name of one book and a publisher’s imprint of two books were specified, eight provenances that were not mentioned by previous authors were registered. While describing book covers, the embossed images were given provisory names. Connections between the supralibros, dates of binding, decorative wheels, single embossed images, and other decorative elements were detected and lead to a reasonable conclusion that eight out of fourteen books from the Sigismund II Augustus collection were bound in Kraków, five were bound by bookbinders in Vilnius, while one was rebound in the 18th century. The identification of tools used by craftsmen that worked in Kraków and Vilnius will allow to ascertain the manufacturing location of similar book covers made in the middle of the 16th century.

Aim: To find out the prevalence, aetiopathogenesis and the magnitude of problems of pelvic organ prolapse (POP) among married women of reproductive age (MWEA) in the rural Nepalese community. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study conducted in eight selected districts (mountain/ hills to terai region) of Nepal linking community to health services. Proportionate samples of MWRA (15-49 years) in total samples of 2849 were interviewed using questionnaires and clinical examinations were made in health facililities. Results: Among 2849 women who agreed to take part on the study when interviewed (by enumerators with pretested questioners) 2070 (72.6%) came for assessment. POP was diagnosed in 207/2070 giving the incidence as 10% being commoner in the planes (8:1) than mountains. POP formed 2.8% of adolescent due to early marriage d" 15 years in (50%) and unsupported delivery by skilled birth attendant (SBA) out of health facilities (99.2%). Resumption of manual labor after delivery less than a month was (83.8%) and parity was responsible to some extent as P(1-3) occupied by T!. Mean duration of suffering being 7.8 years (e" 10 years in ¼.) having II°/III° or procidentia rectovaginal/ vesicovaginal fistula, urinary incontinence (stress/urge), bleeding, discharge from sore and ulceration, coital problem, urination/ defecation problem walking, sitting, back ache and chronic abdominal pain S!. Conclusion: In this large reproductive morbidity study including women in the rural community of varied ethenic groups from diverse ecology, basic community survey linked to clinical assessment in the health facility found the incidence of POP to be much higher in planes than hills giving unusually lower prevalence rate for POP as 10% than other clinic based studies.  doi:10.3126/njog.v2i2.1453 N. English law provides inadequate protection for vulnerable testators, a growing class. Those thinking of challenging suspicious wills are deterred by the cost and poor prospects of success. Traditionally, probate lawyers have been reluctant, when challenging wills, to allege misconduct and the leading case of White v. Nye has caused general confusion by attempting to disguise a plea of fraud as though it were a plea of lack of knowledge and approval.

Teenage pregnancy is major contributing factor of maternal and child health and a challenging issue of public in developed and developing countries. This study explores the contributing factors of teenage pregnancy and knowledge about its consequences. Methodology: A descriptive study was conducted to find out contributing factors of teenage pregnancy among 102 pregnant teenagers at selected health facilities of Sunsari district. Pregnant teenagers visiting health facilities for antenatal check-up during study period were interviewed using pre-designed questionnaire. Data was managed using SPSS software. Descriptive statistics and chi square test were used. Result: The mean age of teenage pregnancy was 18±1.04 years and age at marriage 16.69±1.09 years. Majority were Muslim, 86.3% were homemaker, 31.4% had positive history of teenage pregnancy in family either-side, 38.2% had married at an age of 17 years, 31.4% were pregnant with their first child. Inadequate knowledge about teenage pregnancy, cultural acceptance, illiteracy, lack of knowledge on consequence of teenage pregnancy, difficulty to get information and access on family planning methods were major contributing factors and school dropout was reported as consequences of teenage pregnancy. Ethnicity, religion and education were associated with knowledge of teenage pregnancy. Conclusion: Knowledge about the risk and drawbacks of early marriage and early pregnancy should be increased not only among teenage girls but also to their parents and in-laws to change the attitude and practice of early marriage and teenage pregnancy.

Abstract Training of clinicians: How to do it and how to best evaluate it? Anis Feki, Tatjana Motrenko, Roy Farquharson Many countries within Europe and EU do not have a specific national agency that provides the necessary structure or governance for appropriate training in Reproductive Medicine (RM). Therefore, The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) has been the responsible agency for accreditation of RM training alongside its sister organization, the European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (EBCOG). Both of these organizations are ultimately responsible to and approved by the Union of European Medical Specialties (UEMS), which represents the European Union (EU) governing body for medical practitioners’ education. The Reproductive Medicine subspecialist is a specialist in basic obstetrics and gynecology who has undergone theoretical and practical training in the medical and surgical management of infertility, including assisted reproductive techniques (ART). In general, the comprehensive management of these problems includes both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures allied to continuous audit of outcome. The global aim is to improve the care of patients with disorders of reproductive function. To reach this target, both ESHRE and EBCOG put in place a program that starts with accreditation of training centers in obstetrics and gynecology and more specifically, specialist training centers in reproductive medicine. Fellows must have a structured program of a minimum of 2 years after completing their basic obstetrics and gynecology syllabus and/or obtaining EFOG European Fellow of Obstetrics and Gynecology) diploma for non-European basic training. When a training fellow in RM has completed their logbook, the fellow will finish by assessing an individual’s knowledge and skills by passing an exit-training exam called the EFRM (ESHRE-EBCOG Fellow in Reproductive Medicine) diploma. The success of and the need for such certification has led ESHRE to structure the training also for reproductive surgeons, embryologists, as well as nurses and midwives. In addition, several countries within the EU already have a national compulsory specialist accreditation system for RM training. Recent proposals by the EU Commission to build European reference networks across all specialties, including RM may require the recognition of ESHRE/EBCOG–accreditation as an appropriate entry point for consideration of diagnostic and other interventions. Encouraging subspecialists and centers to apply for training accreditation may well prove to be an increasingly attractive option as educational needs across Europe become integrated and formalized through UEMS. ESHRE holds the view that accredited centers/subspecialists for training are beacons of excellence that often go hand in hand with high-quality research.

Thirteen centiped species and one symphylan are reported from the Galápagos Islands. Hanseniella caldaria (Hansen) is the first symphylan reported from the Galápagos Islands. Among the centipeds, Hemiscolopendra galapagosa Chamberlin is a new synonym of Scolopendra galapagoensis Bollman and should be deleted from the Galápagos list. Cormocephalus andinus Kraepelin, its probable junior synonym C. carolus Chamberlin, and Nannopodellus purpurascens Chamberlin, previously reported from the Galápagos Islands, were not in any collections made from 1974 to the present and may be extinct on the islands. Lamyctes coeculus (Brölemann), Lamyctes fulvicornis Meinert, and Newportia monticola Pocock are new records, and first appear in collections made in 1974. Two new species, Pectiniunguis krausi and Pachymerium perdrai, are described. The former had been misidentified previously as Pectiniunguis albermarlensis Chamberlin. While Pectiniunguis albemarlensis and Scolopendra galapagoensis may be Galápagos endemics, lack of knowledge about the centiped fauna of source areas precludes definitive statements.
