Clubhouse became increasingly popular since the beginning of 2021, especially in Indonesia. After being popularized by public figures who opened live discussions and chats through this audio-based platform, Clubhouse rose in popularity. However, not everyone can become a Clubhouse user, because this platform can only be downloaded by Apple devices and must be invited by users who already have a Clubhouse account. This requirement increases the demand for Clubhouse invitations. Some even sell these invitations online at varying prices. This paper attempts to examine the phenomenon of Clubhouse popularity using Jean Baudrillard's perspective. This descriptive qualitative approach analyzes Clubhouse's popularity using Jean Baudrillard's perspective about consumer society. The results of this study indicate that the consumer society conceived by Baudrillard is still relevant in dissecting the Clubhouse phenomenon. Its exclusivity makes the users use Clubhouse not because of the features offered, but based on the desire to be different from others by affirming their social class. Becoming a Clubhouse user means using Apple products and being part of the upper class by following the latest social media trends. This phenomenon illustrates that capitalism continues to work to create endless needs under the guise of exclusivity to make its consumers feel special and different.

IntroductionThose who are staying at home and reducing contact with other people during the COVID-19 pandemic are likely to be at greater risk of medication-related problems than the general population. This study aims to explore household medication practices by and for this population, identify practices that benefit or jeopardise medication safety and develop best practice guidance about household medication safety practices during a pandemic, grounded in individual experiences. Methods and analysisThis is a descriptive qualitative study using semistructured interviews, by telephone or video call. People who have been advised to ‘cocoon’/‘shield’ and/or are aged 70 years or over and using at least one long-term medication, or their caregivers, will be eligible for inclusion. We will recruit 100 patient/carer participants: 50 from the UK and 50 from Ireland. Recruitment will be supported by our patient and public involvement (PPI) partners, personal networks and social media. Individual participant consent will be sought, and interviews audio/video recorded and/or detailed notes made. A constructivist interpretivist approach to data analysis will involve use of the constant comparative method to organise the data, along with inductive analysis. From this, we will iteratively develop best practice guidance about household medication safety practices during a pandemic from the patient’s/carer’s perspective.Ethics and disseminationThis study has Trinity College Dublin, University of Limerick and University College London ethics approvals. We plan to disseminate our findings via presentations at relevant patient/public, professional, academic and scientific meetings, and for publication in peer-reviewed journals. We will create a list of helpful strategies that participants have reported and share this with participants, PPI partners and on social media.

Within Higher Education (HE), lower social class staff and students often experience poorer wellbeing than their higher social class counterparts. Previous research conducted outside educational contexts has linked social class differences in wellbeing with differences in the extent to which low and high social class individuals feel respected (i.e., status), in control (i.e., autonomy), and connected with others (i.e., inclusion). However, to our knowledge, there has been no research that has investigated these factors within HE settings. Furthermore, inclusion, status and autonomy are correlated, yet little is known about how these factors contribute to wellbeing simultaneously, and independently, of one another. To fill these gaps, we report the results of two studies; firstly with HE students (Study 1; N = 305), and secondly with HE staff (Study 2; N = 261). Consistently across studies, reports of poor wellbeing were relatively common and more than twice as prevalent amongst lower social class staff and students compared to higher social class staff and students. Inclusion, status and autonomy each made a unique contribution and accounted for the relationship between social class and wellbeing (fully amongst students, and partially amongst staff members). These relationships held across various operationalisations of social class and when examining a range of facets of wellbeing. Social class along with inclusion, status and autonomy explained a substantial 40% of the variance in wellbeing. The present research contributes to the literature exploring how social class intersects with social factors to impact the wellbeing of staff and students within HE.

This paper aims at presenting some reflections upon adopting Internet memes as possibilities for teaching in the context of digital cultures. In Brazil, millions of people interact in social media, on a daily basis, by editing, sharing, reading and reacting to a great variety of graphic texts, videos, photos, and songs that reflect their everyday relationships, namely, they produce internet memes. This study is grounded on the multiliteracies perspective (COPE & KALANTZIS, 2000, 2008; LANKSHEAR & KNOBEL, 2007; LEMKE, 2009; MENEZES DE SOUZA, 2011), as well as on the studies on memes, made by Dawkins (1976), Shifman (2013, 2014), Shifman et al (2016), Chagas (2017, 2018) and Glaveanu (2018). The teaching suggestions are based on categories of memes analysis; remixing existing memes in order to explore discourses of dominant ideologies, issues of race, age, gender and social class; and reading and writing political memes, that operate as instruments of persuasion.

This paper aims to reveal the mistakes of micro Arabic in the aspects of Ilm Saut (phonology), Sharaf (morphology), Nahw (Syntax), and 'Ilm Dalalah (Semantics) in preaching materials conveyed by ustadz and ustadzah included in the groups of "Ustadz Sunnah" and "Islam itu Indah". Arabic mistakes are often made by ustadz and ustadzah who often appear on social media. In general, an ustadz must have good Arabic language skills. The vast emergence of ustadz and ustadzah on social media is allegedly not accompanied by their qualified mastery of the primary language used in Islamic teaching sources and primary books, namely Arabic. Hence, the researchers used micro linguistic theories comprising the studies of phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics therein. This study applied a descriptive-qualitative method. Researchers not only described the Arabic mistakes made by those of "Ustadz Sunnah” and "Islam itu Indah" but also provided corrections to such mistakes. In analyzing the data, the researchers used a separate analysis method. The findings demonstrated that those of "Ustaz Sunnah" and "Islam itu Indah” made mistakes in verbal Arabic at phonemic, morphemic, syntactic, and semantic levels.
