Introduction: Progress testing (PT) reflects students’ knowledge development and is a valuable indicator for curriculum evaluation. Since 2009, Faculty of Medicine Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta (FMSH) has been conducting PT every year as a formative assessment. In 2012, curriculum reform was addressed to revise the 2005 curriculum; until then PT and curriculum evaluation were not conducted concurrently. This study aims to evaluate PT and assess whether there is a relationship between PT performance and final scores in modules, as part of curriculum evaluation.Method: It reviews PT for two cohorts: 571 students in 2015 and 562 students in 2016. 120 systembased topics were addressed in the PT. In this study the final scores for the old (2015) and new (2016) curriculum neuropsychiatry modules are reviewed, since their scores were lower than for other modules. Comparisons were made using ANOVA. Pearson correlations were calculated to examine the relationship between PT and final module scores.Results: This study revealed that PT scores between each grade (p < 0.001) from 2015 to 2016 improved significantly (54.49 ± 7.43 and 55.07 ± 8.32; p < 0.001). The mean of the final score of the new neuropsychiatry module was 69.36 ± 3.78 while the old one was 70.92 ± 3.99. Furthermore, Pearson correlation showed a weak correlation between final scores for the neuropsychiatry module and PT scores in 2015 (ρ = 0.191, p = 0.011).Discussion: PT scores increased significantly. Despite the final score of the new neuropsychiatry module being lower than the old one, there was heterogeneity in scores within the old neuropsychiatry module. The small number of neuropsychiatry items in the PT explains why the correlation between PT and final scores was weak. The weak correlation between final scores for the neuropsychiatry module and the PT scores in 2015; PT and final module scores seem reliable as indicators of curriculum evaluation. Objective: The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic further increased this stress of employees. This disease, which did not have a cure and a vaccine at the beginning, increased the anxiety of the employees and forced them to live separately due to the risk of infecting family members. This study aimed to investigate the burnout levels of doctors and technicians working in Yenimahalle Training and Research Hospital Anaesthesiology and Reanimation Clinic. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted prospectively by using a questionnaire method in the Yenimahalle Training and Research Hospital. Maslach Burnout questionnaire applied to the participants. Quantitative data were expressed as %, the number of subjects as (n). The distribution of continuous variables was evaluated with the Kolmogorov-Smirnow test. Qualitative data were expressed in mean±SD (standard deviation). X2 test was used for comparison of categorical variables. Independent Student T-test was used for comparison of continuous variables. The relationship between burnout level and variables was determined by Pearson Correlation Test. The value of p<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: A total of 52 volunteers participated in the study. The average emotional exhaustion score of the volunteers participating in the study was 31.13±4.6, the average depersonalization score was 15.06±3.3, and the mean personal achievement score was 23.60±3.7. There was no statistically significant relationship between any of the variables and the burnout level (p>0.05). Conclusion: The high level of burnout in a clinic that is at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19, such as anesthesiology and reanimation, is important in terms of determining the situation.

ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate the amount of buccal and lingual supporting bone tissue of 60 upper central incisors and the relationship with their inclination. Materials and Methods: Thirty healthy adult patients with no previous orthodontic treatment were evaluated using cone-beam computed tomography. Cross-sectional views were analyzed to check the amount of the bone tissue on the cervical (cervical buccal thickness/CBT; lingual/CLT), middle (middle buccal thickness/MBT; lingual/MLT), and apical regions (apical buccal thickness/ABT; lingual/ALT). The Pearson correlation, linear regression, and analysis of variance tests were used (P &lt; .05). Results: The values of ABT of both teeth (11, right upper central incisor; 21, left upper central incisor) were significantly increased with the increase in the angle between the axis of the upper central incisor and the palatal plane (1/PP) (tooth 11 P  =  .034; tooth 21 P  =  .009), yet without a strong linear correlation. At the buccal and lingual surfaces, the mean apical supporting bone tissue was significantly greater than the other areas, and the middle region significantly greater than the cervical (P &lt; .001). Conclusions: For both surfaces (buccal and lingual), the amount of bone tissue in the apical region was significantly higher than the middle and cervical regions, and the middle region was significantly higher than the cervical region. In relation to the upper central incisor's inclination, the higher the 1/PP the higher was ABT. However, the coefficient values for both teeth were low.

This study focused on the relationship between the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children—Revised (WISC—R) and the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI) given to 40 6-yr.-old Iranian children. Pearson correlations between the WISC—R and the WPPSI IQs and between scaled scores on the corresponding subtests were significant. The comparison of mean IQs and scaled scores indicates that the WISC—R yielded a significantly higher Verbal IQ and higher scores on Information, Vocabulary, Comprehension, and Picture Completion than the WPPSI. The mean difference between corresponding Verbal and Full Scale IQs was not significant. These results suggest that scores on the two instruments correlated well for these 6-yr.-old Iranian children and the content on which IQs for the recently restandardized WISC—R and WPPSI are based are related.

Background and Study Aim. The study aimed to know the level of social responsibility and job performance among the physical education professors and examine the relationship between the social responsibility and the job performance. Material and Methods. The participants were 29 physical educations professors (male) from Institute of Physical Education and Sport University of Ouargla. The social responsibility and the job performance scales were used as search tools. Data analyses were carried out by means of statistical packet for social sciences (SPSS) 26.00 software program. The Mean, Std. Deviation and Pearson Correlation were used in the main study. In addition, alpha-Cronbach was used in the exploratory study Results. The level of social responsibility and job performance is high among physical education professors, and there is a positive correlation between social responsibility and job performance. Conclusions. Given the importance of the role of social responsibility and job performance and the lack of enough studies in this specialization, it is necessary to conduct more additional studies that would serve knowledge in this specialization.

Abstract Background: One of the most well-known chronic diseases in the world is diabetes. Disease perception is the patient's organized cognitive representation of his or her illness and can affect treatment adherence. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between illness perception and adherence to the medical regimen in patients with type II diabetes. Methods: This descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study was performed on 260 patients with type II diabetes referred to Gonabad Diabetes Clinic by systematic random sampling in 2019. Data collection tools were demographic questionnaire, Morisky medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8), and Brief illness Perception Questionnaire (BIPQ). Data were analyzed by SPSS 20 software. And using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient. P < 0.05 was considered significant. Results: The results showed that the mean score of illness perception of type II diabetes was 46.39 ± 9.45 (range 0-70) and the mean score of medication Adherence was 2.93 ± 1.9 (range 0-8). The results of Pearson correlation test showed a significant relationship between illness perception and medication Adherence (P <0.001, r = 0.199). Also, the regression model showed that the dimensions of disease comprehension and personal control from illness perception were significantly related to medication Adherence of type II diabetic patients (P <0.001). Conclusion: By measuring the level of illness perception, the degree of medication Adherence can be predicted. Therefore, strengthening the illness perception in order to medication Adherence seems to be an important therapeutic strategy in educational interventions. The goal of this study is to investigate the moral disengagement and aggression levels of fight sport athletes according to several independent variables and reveal the relationship among them. The study group consisted of totally 207 fight sport athletes, 88 females and 119 males with age  = 21,99 ± 4,92 and year of sport  = 6,14 ± 5,42. “The Scale of Moral Disengagement in Sport” and “The Questionnaire of Buss-Perry Aggression” were used as data collection tools. Descriptive statistics, t test, ANOVA and Pearson Correlation analysis were used in the analysis of data. While the mean of physical aggression of athletes was found as the highest, verbal aggression had the lowest mean value within the sub-dimensions of aggression, and they stated that they somewhat disagreed with the moral disengagement. It was found that there was a moderate positive significant correlation between moral disengagement and sub-dimensions of anger, hostility, physical and verbal aggressions of aggression scale. Significant difference was observed in the dimension of moral disengagement in accordance with age and year of sport. Physical and verbal aggression scores of males are significantly higher according to gender. The aggression and moral disengagement scores of kickboxers are significantly higher than those of taekwondo athletes in line with the branch. To conclude, it was determined that fight sport athletes did not approve moral disengagement in sport, however, the case of moral disengagement of athletes, who were younger and started the sport recently, was higher and they mostly showed the behaviour of aggression physically.

Objective: To evaluate the relationship between inner canthal distance and maxillary anterior teeth width withrespect to age, gender and ethnicity. Study Design: Cross sectional study. Place and Duration of Study: Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine, Karachi, from Aug 2019 to Jan 2020. Methodology: One hundred participants from both genders with full permanent dentition, no interdental space or pathology and facial symmetry were included in this study. The measurements were carried out with digital Vernier caliper. SPSS-25 was used for statistical analysis. Results: The mean ± SD of inner canthal distance and width of maxillary anterior teeth were 2.99cm ± 0.46and 3.82cm ± 0.35 respectively. A significant difference was found between gender (p=0.037) and inner canthaldistance. The maxillary anterior teeth width and inner canthal distance varies amongst different ethnicities(p=0.01). The inner canthal distance does not vary with advancing age (p=0.87) whereas width of maxillaryanterior teeth varies (p=0.04). A weak correlation value of 0.47 was found between inner canthal distance andmaxillary anterior teeth width. Conclusion: This research suggests that there is a weak relationship between inner canthal distance and maxillary anterior teeth width. Therefore, a multiplication ratio of 1.27 is advised to get combined mesiodistal width of maxillary anterior teeth. Additionally, the value of both differs in various local ethnicities. Inner canthal distance does not vary with age though has significant gender disparities while maxillary anterior teeth width remains constant.

INTRODUCTION: Natural disasters in rural settlements are responsible for a broad range of financial and human losses. In this regard, the resilience approach has gained renewed attention to minimize the disruptive impacts of natural catastrophes. Therefore, adequate knowledge about the status of resilience enables us to take efficient measures to reduce resultant injuries and destructive effects. With this background in mind, the current study aimed to investigate the relationship between economic and socio-cultural resilience of rural settlements in Silakhor rural district in Dorud. METHODS: This practical study was conducted based on an analytical-descriptive design. The statistical population included 1539 earthquake-stricken households of Silakhor village (according to household information from the 2016 Census). Out of this population, 308 families were selected as the sample size using the Cochranchr('39')s formula. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by a panel of experts, and its reliability was evaluated using Cronbachchr('39')s alpha method rendering the coefficients of 0.910 and 0.854 for the economic and socio-cultural dimension, respectively. One-Sample T-Test and Pearson correlation were used to examine the status of resilience and the relationship between economic resilience and socio-cultural resilience. FINDINGS: As evidenced by the obtained results, rural settlements were socio-culturally resilient with the mean score of >3, while they were somewhat resilient in the economic dimension with the mean score of nearly 3. CONCLUSION: The results of the Pearson correlation pointed to a positive and significant relationship between economic and social resilience with a correlation coefficient of 0.420 and a significance level of P<0.00.

Background & Objective: Effective communication in the nursing profession is not just a personal skill but is accepted as a learned and gained technique in the instructional process. It is possible for nurses to professionally provide effective and quality service with the establishment, development, and transfer to emotion of effective communication with people. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between levels of alexithymia and communication skills of nursing students. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted among students attending the School of Nursing in a university in Turkey in the 2017-2018 Spring semester. A total of 634 nursing students participated in the study. The data in the study were collected with the “Student Introduction Form”, the “Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS)” and the “Communication Skills Scale (CSS)”. Means, standard deviations, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson correlation analysis were used for the analysis. Results: The mean TAS scores of the nursing students were found to be 56.31±8.82, and the students had “moderate alexithymia” based on the average scores of the scale. The mean CSS scores of the nursing students in the study was found to be 91.16±12.99, and the students had “Good level of communication” based on the average scores of the scale. In our study, a negative and moderate correlation between the levels of alexithymia of nursing students and their communication skills was detected (p: 0.001). Mood states have been shown to be sensitive to periods of overtraining among endurance athletes. To examine the relationship between training volume and specific mood states, the Profile of Mood States was administered biweekly to 12 male and 17 female collegiate swimmers over the course of a competitive season. Pearson correlations were estimates of the relationship between mean subscores and training volume. Mean training volume for the comparison periods ranged from 3,868 to 12,500 meters/day. Mean ratings of both Anger and Vigor were significantly negatively correlated with training volume (−.58 and −.54, respectively). In addition, Fatigue was significantly correlated with training volume ( r = .53), but the mean subscores for Tension, Depression, Confusion, and Global Mood were not significantly correlated with training volume. Results support previous research reporting mood disturbances with increased training volumes but do not support suggestions of an increased tendency towards higher scores on depression.
