The experience of foreign scientists on the need to master knowledge of medical genetics for the professional competence of physical therapists is considered. The features of teaching the selective educational component "Medical genetics" for applicants for the second (master's) level of higher education in the field of knowledge 22 "Health" specialty 227 "Physical therapy, occupational therapy" are presented. Today, it is relevant to improve the quality of professional training of future specialists in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, in accordance with world and European standards in order to enhance the competitiveness of domestic education, optimize conditions for international student mobility and expand the capabilities of Ukrainian specialists in the domestic and international labor markets. According to the position of modern medicine, any human pathology is often associated with heredity. Since heredity and variability are integral parts of life, medical genetics should be included in the theoretical and practical training of specialists in physiotherapy and occupational therapy. The need for genetic knowledge for specialists in physiotherapy, occupational therapy is also determined by the constant increase in the proportion of hereditary pathology in the structure of morbidity, mortality and disability of the population. We believe that physical therapists need to be prepared for new developments in healthcare, including personalized rehabilitation. The physical therapist profession must embrace medical genetics in order to fulfill its operational role and help shape the future of personalized healthcare delivery. Competence in medical genetics provides additional opportunities for working with peers to integrate such information into a healthcare perspective. By developing and demonstrating this competence, physical therapists continue to enjoy a position of respect among the general health community. We consider it important to include in the training program for applicants for the second (master's) level of higher education the area of knowledge 22 "Health", specialty 227 "Physical therapy, occupational therapy" of an educational component such as "Medical genetics". In this way, the physical therapy profession can collaborate with other medical professions to further strengthen and define its role in patient-centered health care.

Evidence-based practice enables rehabilitation therapists to provide the best quality of care and outcomes for patients. However, rehabilitation therapists are often not confident in using evidence in many settings. Purpose. The objective of this evidence-based practice project was to determine if educational small group sessions enhanced occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, and a speech and language pathologist’s confidence in utilizing and applying evidence. Method. Eleven rehabilitation therapists of multiple disciplines (occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, and a speech and language pathologist) from a skilled nursing facility participated in six educational sessions designed to increase evidence-based practice. A pre- and post-test utilizing the Evidence-Based Practice Profile Questionnaire (EBPPQ), measured change in therapists’confidence regarding evidence-based practice. Results. Results on the Evidence-Based Practice Profile Questionnaire concluded that 7 of 11 rehabilitation therapists reported an increase in confidence levels. Conclusion. Educational small group sessions can be an effective method to assist rehabilitation therapists in developing this confidence. The problem of ensuring the quality of higher education and the formation of a culture of quality causes a significant interest. That determines the practice of collecting, analyzing, and taking into account information about the academic environment, requires identifying and constantly monitoring of factors that affect the effectiveness of curricula, and determines student success. To better monitor the effectiveness of the proposed approaches, keep up with emerging challenges, and adjust decisions, it is necessary to develop special tools to study participants’ opinions of the educational process. Such tools should have sufficient validity and meet current trends and approaches. The purpose of the study was to check the internal structure and validate the Ukrainian version of the content part “Experiences of teaching and learning” of the ETLQ tool. Materials and methods. The study involved students (n = 632, 59.81 % were women; age (M±SE) – 21.5±0.2 years old) of Ivan Boberskyj Lviv State University of Physical Culture, who studied in the specialty 227 “Physical therapy, occupational therapy”. Data collection was conducted during the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 academic years upon completing mandatory special subjects. The convergent, discriminant, and criterion validity of the “Experiences of teaching and learning” part of the ETLQ tool were evaluated. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were used in the research; α-Cronbach values, composite reliability coefficient, and average extracted variance were calculated. Results and discussion. Based on the results of the work, a modified version of the questionnaire was proposed, which contained 29 questions and had a sufficient level of validity. The final model consisted of four factors, which explained 51.353% of the total variance (the first factor – 39.339 %, the second – 5.224 %, the third – 4.281 %, the fourth – 2.509 %). The model was characterized by satisfactory indices: χ² / df (920/344) = 2.67, CFI = 0.923, TLI = 0.935, RMSEA = 0.055, SRMR = 0.058. Based on the validation results, a modified Ukrainian version of the questionnaire “Experiences of teaching and learning” was proposed, which is one of the content parts of the ETLQ tool. It consists of separate scales “Organization and structure,” “Teaching, learning, assessments and other set work”, “Teachers’ enthusiasm and responsiveness to students”, “Climate and support from peers”. The proposed questionnaire has sufficient validity to assess the quality of the academic environment, the effectiveness of specialists’ educational process in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and physical culture and sports

The aim of our work was to highlight the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in the study of pediatric surgical dentistry. The introduction of the Standard of Higher Education in Specialty 221 “Dentistry” Field of Knowledge 22 “Health Care” for the second (master’s) level of higher education has allowed us to revise and improve a number of provisions regarding the study of pediatric surgical dentistry. First of all, the updated educational-professional program 221- “Dentistry” outlines the list of competencies and learning outcomes in the discipline “Pediatric Surgical Dentistry” and clearly defines the prerequisites on which the study of pediatric surgical dentistry is based. In the study of pediatric surgical dentistry, namely issues related to inflammatory processes of the maxillofacial area, attention should be paid to the etiology and pathogenesis of acute and chronic inflammatory odontogenic processes directly in the age aspect. At the same time, it is important to emphasize the need for preventive dental measures, timely therapeutic intervention, especially during the eruption of permanent teeth and urgent radical treatment to prevent complications. In addition, an important component in the study of this topic are issues related to the age of the formation of organs and systems of the child, the tendency to hyperergic reactions and generalization of the inflammatory process, the factor of minimal anti-inflammatory potential. The presented methodological approach in terms of practical application of interdisciplinary links in the study of pediatric surgical dentistry, according to our observations allowed to increase the level of knowledge within the professional competence of students with a score of “5” from 20% in IV year to 68% V year. Thus, the list of components of the educational process analyzed in this paper creates a promising direction for further improvement of teaching methods at the Department of Pediatric Surgical Dentistry.

This study conducted a scan of telehealth physical and occupational therapy state laws and regulations. The laws and regulations were analyzed to determine the potential effect they could have on physical therapists (PTs) and occupational therapists’ (OTs) utilization of telehealth. The results indicate that the majority of physical and occupational therapy boards are silent on telehealth. A handful of physical therapy laws and regulations address “consultation by means of telecommunication,” but do not provide any guidance for PTs or OTs seeking to provide direct telehealth-delivered services to patients.  Of the few states that do provide guidance, policy had the potential to provide clarity, or inhibit adoption. The findings suggest that as state boards look at crafting telehealth regulation, they should do so in a way that facilitates, rather than hampers adoption, while upholding their providers to a high standard of care.
