The day surgery is a highly effective tool for providing health care which has been used in Slovakia only for the last decade. The unified system of payment for inpatient or outpatient (day care) surgeries causes the reduction of health insurance companies´ spending. Incorrectly configured and economically demotivating system of refunding is a cause of lagging behind the European average in utilization of day surgery. Without the evaluation of day surgery it is not possible to link the progress in the social sphere, which leads to the restriction of day surgery availability for some social groups and thus the subsequent stagnation of day surgery in Slovakia. This contribution presents a pilot study conducted in Slovakia and its partial findings focused on the development and trends in the implementation of day surgery in order to increase the efficiency healthcare system.

This chapter explores the social and economic aspects of gift-exchange as a universal phenomenon. Examples drawn from both complex and traditional societies indicate that the personal gift and counter-gift, in which givers and receivers are known to each other and personally communicate with each other, is characterised by a great variety of sentiments and purposes. At one end of the spectrum, economic purposes may be dominant as in some forms of first-gifts which aim to achieve a material gain or to enhance prestige or to bring about material gain in the future. At the other end are those gifts whose purposes are predominantly social and moral in that as ‘total social facts’ they aim to serve friendly relationships, affection, and harmony between known individuals and social groups. Meanwhile, social gifts and actions carrying no explicit or implicit individual right to a return gift or action are forms of ‘creative altruism’.

AbstractIn summing up, a number of conclusions can be drawn. We have tried on the one hand to establish the various de facto social groups implied in the formulae of address, reference and salutation ascertaining the group affiliation of the persons involved. We have also tried to bring out the meaning of various terms and establish a triple system of ranking. The meaning attached to these terms, we may point out, is specifically interactional, and the proof of its validity lies only in its consistency. We have demonstrated this throughout our presentation of the data as well as the conclusions. Our conclusions mainly indicate a three-fold system of ranking. In the social sphere the brāhmanas successfully maintain their hostile equality with the Buddha. But in the religious and political fields, they are not as successful. In the religious field the Buddhist order more than holds its own and claims several distinguished brāhmanas within its fold. Politically too, the Buddha is less encumbered than the brāhmanas. Unlike them, he is not servile to the king. Despite their actual humility in the king's presence, in their mode of address the brāhmanas recognize no superior in any system of ranking, but at the most only equals. They and the Buddhists have an equal hold on the gahapatis, who represent the secular population, the prizes in the religious struggle. Having analysed the social groupings, we may further comment on them and see if we can relate our "inferred" social ranking of the groups to what is already stated about them in the texts. We may

Relevance. The article discusses the features of the process of integrating elements of psychological flexibility as an important component of professional thinking in the collective management system in the social sphere. The relevance of the studied problems lies in the fact that the specifics of the professional activities of social specialists determine the work with a different contingent of people, which requires high mobility of the mental processes of a person in solving complex, often uncertain situations that are characterized by instability and unpredictability is my variability. The purpose of the study is to study the features of the process of integrating elements of psychological flexibility as an important component of professional thinking in the collective management system in the social sphere. The objectives of the study are to identify the specifics of the process of integrating elements of psychological flexibility as an important component of professional thinking in the collective management system in the social sphere and using the results to optimize the management process. As a result of the study, the possibilities were identified for integrating elements of psychological flexibility into the collective management system, whose professional activity lies in the social sphere. The professional thinking of specialists in the social sphere, in our opinion, is based on the following criteria: competence of specialists, personality orientation, psychological flexibility/ rigidity, self-management ability. Flexibility is one of the most important qualities of an effective specialist. In our opinion, flexibility (or the opposite of behavioral rigidity) is a feature that is very difficult to correct. But, one way or another, it is necessary to work on the development of professional thinking and, in our opinion, its main component flexibility. These results were the basis for the development, testing and integration of elements of psychological flexibility in the team management system. The focus was on the question of how the integration of elements of psychological flexibility into the collective management system will contribute to the development of professional thinking of specialists. A series of training sessions was conducted aimed at the development of professional thinking, in particular psychological flexibility, specialists in the social sphere. Innovative coaching and gaming tools, creative tasks for acquiring new skills, brainstorming and other non-standard techniques contribute to the creation of an effective motivational plan for solving problems, which is determined to work with the team [3-5]. Fundamentally important in this cycle is that the specialists gained additional experience of detaching from the usual identification, they found a variety of options for displacement from the usual standard established position. The usual stereo-typing of thinking has disappeared [2, 6, 9].

In this article it is proved that strategic planning and implementation of strategic priorities of guaranteeing environmental safety as a phenomenon and process of predicting the future and preparing for the future is interpreted quite widely: as an integrated process of preparation and decision making of a certain type, as formulating goals and defining ways to achieve them, as ensuring preparedness of economic and social objects for competition in the markets, etc. Strategic planning is found to be an adaptive process that regularly develops and corrects a system of sufficiently formalized plans, reviewing the content of their implementation measures on the basis of continuous monitoring and evaluating changes occurring externally and internally. The mechanism of realization of interrelation of strategic tasks and operational decisions in strategic planning is developed. Priorities of improvement of modernization measures in the field of ecological safety development have been elaborated, which consist of the following components: 1) development of normative and legal base in the sphere of ensuring ecological and natural-anthropogenic safety, its adaptation to the norms of international and European law; 2) institutionalization of ecological and natural anthropogenic safety on the basis of sustainable development; 3) development of information-analytical, scientifically sound monitoring system of environmental and natural-anthropogenic safety; 4) forecasting the state of environmental and anthropogenic safety by 2030; 5) increasing attention to the problems of ensuring environmental and natural-anthropogenic safety at the regional level and identifying strategic directions for overcoming them, based on regional peculiarities of the danger; 6) state control over ecological development of sectors of national economy, development of innovative technologies, ecological modernization; 7) overcoming problems of industrial and household waste management; 8) the social imperative to ensure environmental safety; 9) improvement of mechanisms of financial extrabudgetary provision of ecological and natural anthropogenic safety at micro and macro levels; 10) support for bilateral and multilateral parity security cooperation.

The Franciscan friar Diego de Landa, in the mid-sixteenth century, and the Holly-wood film producer and director Mel Gibson, in the early twenty-first century, created Maya men as beings with perverted and penetrated bodies. In 1566 Landa wrote his Relación de las cosas de Yucatán, an extensive text about the Maya people. In 2006 Gibson released Apocalypto, a Hollywood film in which all dialogue was in Yucatec Maya. Landa and Gibson both argued that they showed the true Maya world, but each expressed a visceral reaction to Maya sacrifice and, in so doing, infested their own fantasies with nightmares of savage Maya men. This essay argues that by analyzing the voyeurism and fantasies of Landa and Gibson, we can come to terms with the position of Maya masculinity in modern Western imaginations. Moreover, by working to understand Landa’s and Gibson’s investments in perverse Maya men, we can think about why Western people formulate fantasies of colonized subjects. Finally, these fantasies of non-Western subjectivities can speak to the stakes involved in queer theory’s understanding of the social sphere, the heterosexual family, and the child as a sign of the future.
