In terms of economic globalization and digitalization, the enterprise's financial reporting is a communication channel for transferring accounting information to stakeholders. The full and effective perception of user credentials is threatened by communication barriers that could lead to erroneous management decisions. Thus, it is necessary to improve financial reporting through feedback mechanisms to minimize the negative impact of communication threats to the accounting system. The purpose of this article is to identify basic communication of financial reporting, their minimization through ensuring the transparency of accounting information and calculation of analytical indicators. The article highlights the basic communication barriers to the perception of accounting information, which include unclear financial reporting indicators due to different interpretations of accounting concepts; the inadequate level of knowledge of the subjects of the communication process (communicator and recipient); the inaccuracy of information due to intentional or unintentional actions; lack of clarity in accounting regulations on the interpretation and structure of individual objects of accounting; information oversaturation; availability of non-target communications; availability of informal communications; inefficiency of the communication channel. The influence of communication threats to the accounting system on the example of forming the Ukrainian form of financial reporting Balance (Financial Statement) is substantiated. It is proposed to transform the form of financial statements Balance Sheet (Financial Statement) in Ukraine by separating two sections in assets «Non-current assets» and «Current assets») and three in liabilities («Equity», «Long-term liabilities» and «Current liabilities») to optimize the analysis of the financial condition, which will contribute to the effective perception of accounting and analytical data by stakeholders. The criterion of minimizing the impact of communication risks should be used to transform other forms of financial and integrated reporting. The proposals could be useful in reformatting financial reporting forms in other countries to ensure transparency and maximize the perception of accounting information.

ABSTRACT Global adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is thought to increase financial statement reliability and comparability. Although IFRS is required or allowed in over 130 nations, some countries modify IFRS as issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). This study is designed to closely examine each country that modifies IFRS in an effort to determine whether these modifications impair financial statement comparability. First is that countries lack the resources to implement the newest version of IFRS or ensure proper translation of the standards. Second is that countries make specific changes to allow IFRS to better meet the needs of their financial reporting environment. I categorize the first set of countries as default countries and the second set as design countries. The study results in several interesting and useful contributions. First, I develop a new typology for future IFRS research that includes not only the locally adopted category, but also the default and design categories. Second, the details of how countries modify IFRS make it clear that differences can exist in financial statements prepared in different countries both using IFRS. The users must be careful to understand how comparability may be impacted by these modifications.

Abstract:There is a long-running debate among legal scholars regarding the propriety and enforceability of SEC attempts to mandate disclosures of antisocial or illegal corporate activities that do not materially impact a company’s financial statements. This debate was recently revived by the issuance of SEC Staff Accounting Bulletin 99, Materiality in Financial Statements (SEC 1999), which suggests that quantitatively immaterial information relating to unlawful transactions or regulatory non-compliance should be considered for disclosure. This issue has important implications for the accounting profession, although it has generally been ignored in the accounting literature. This paper reviews legal and ethical considerations raised by the issue of qualitative disclosures, and also presents the results of a preliminary empirical test of the impact of such disclosures on financial statement users’ judgments. The results of this study indicate that investors consider the nondisclosure of immaterial illegal acts to be unethical, and reject suggestions that such information lacks moral intensity. The results also suggest that immaterial illegal acts have a significant effect on investors’ perceptions of the quality of corporate management and the likelihood of investment in a company. This effect was more pronounced when the illegal act was combined with self-dealing on the part of corporate executives.
