The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of AIUEO therapy on the speech ability of stroke patients who have motor aphasia in Raja Ahmad Thabib Hospital Tanjungpinang. The research design used was quasi experiment with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design approach to 9 respondents who were divided into 9 treatment groups and 9 control groups. The results showed that there were significant differences in the functional ability of communication between the control and treatment groups with a value of p <0.05 (p = 0.007 at a = 0.05) using the Wilcoxon Test statistical test. Conclusion, the influence of AIUEO therapy on the speech ability of stroke patients with motor aphasia in the treatment and control groups at Ahmad Thabib Hospital Tanjungpinang.   Keywords: Speech Ability, Motor Aphasia Stroke, AIUEO Therapy

 AbstrakSaat ini skill perawat ketika menjadi volunteer pada saat terjadi bencana masih rendah. Upaya untuk meningkatkan skill tersebut salah satunya adalah dengan cara memberikan pendidikan bencana sejak awal kepada mahasiswa keperawatan yang salah satunya dapat mengguanakan media Tabletop Disaster Exercise (TDE). Penilitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari efektivitas media Tabletop Disaster Exercise dalam meningkatkan skill triage dan alur rujukan korban bencana. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasy experiment dengan menggunakan pre-post test with control group design. Jumlah populasi adalah 188 mahasiswa. Sampel diambil menggunakan purpossive sampling dan didapatkan jumlah responden sebesar 36 dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon dan didapatkan ada perbedaan triage (ρ = 0,001) dan alur rujukan (ρ = 0,000) sedangkan pada kelompok kontrol hasil didapatkan perbedaan skill triage (ρ = 0,001) dan alur rujukan (ρ = 0,001). Hasil uji Mann Whitney yaitu terdapat perbedaan skill triage dan alur rujukan dari responden antara kelompok perlakuan dengan kelompok kontrol dengan nilai signifikansi masing-masing 0,013 dan 0,004. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol sama-sama dapat meningkatkan skill triage dan alur rujukan dari masing-masing responden, akan tetapi dari analisis kedua metode didapatkan hasil yang signifikan yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan antara media TDE dengan metode konvensional. Kata kunci : tabletop disaster exercise, triage, alur rujukan  AbstractToday, the nurses' skills when volunteering at disaster management are still low. therefore to improve these skills is by providing disaster education from the beginning to nursing students. One of the learning media that is expected to be able to answer  these problems is the Tabletop Disaster Exercise (TDE). This study aims to determine the effectivity  of Tabletop Disaster Exercise in improving triage and referral flow of disaster victims. The research design used quasy experimental with two groups pre-post test design. 36 subjects in total (2 groups of 18 members) was selected using purpossive sampling. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon test and Mann whittney test. The results showed there were differences in triage (ρ = 0,001) and referral flow (ρ = 0,000) while in the results of the control group, there were differences in triage (ρ = 0.001) and referral flow (ρ = 0.001). The result of the Mann Whitney test showed there were differences in respondents’s skill between the treatment group and the control group with a significance value of triage (ρ = 0.013) and referral flow (ρ = 0.004). Thus it can be concluded that both the treatment and control groups can equally improve the triage and referral Flow skills of each respondent, but from the analysis of both methods, significant results are showed by the differences between TDE and conventional methods.Keywords: tabletop disaster exercise, triage, referral flow

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan langkah bayangan (shadow) memindahkan bola bulutangkis terhadap kelincahan dan daya ledak otot tungkai. Jenis penelitian adalah eksperimen semu dengan rancangan the non randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 20 orang. Kelincahan diukur dengan tes zig-zag run, dan untuk daya ledak otot tungkai menggunakan tes vertical jump, selanjutnya data dianalisis dengan bantuan komputer program SPSS 16.0. Hasil analisis data kelincahan pada kelompok perlakuan langkah bayangan terjadi peningkatan rata-rata gaint score sebesar 0,49 dan pada kelompok kontrol terjadi peningkatan rata-rata gaint score sebesar 0,25. Hasil analisis data daya ledak otot tungkai pada kelompok perlakuan langkah bayangan terjadi peningkatan rata-rata gaint score sebesar 9,1 dan pada kelompok kontrol terjadi peningkatan rata-rata gaint score sebesar 5,0. Hasil uji t-independent variabel kelincahan antara kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol didapat Thitung sebesar 5,082 dengan signifikansi 0,000 dan untuk variabel daya ledak otot tungkai antara kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol didapat Thitung sebesar 6,403 dengan signifikansi 0,000. Dari hasil analisis data dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa; (1) pelatihan langkah bayangan (shadow) memindahkan bola bulutangkis berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kelincahan pada siswa putra ekstrakurikuler bulutangkis SMP Negeri 1 Ubud. (2) pelatihan langkah bayangan (shadow) memindahkan bola bulutangkis berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan daya ledak otot tungkai pada siswa putra ekstrakurikuler bulutangkis SMP Negeri 1 Ubud.Kata Kunci : Langkah Bayangan (shadow), kelincahan, daya ledak otot tungkai The aims of this study was to determined the effect of training shadow step moving a shuttlecock to the agility and leg muscle power. Type of research was quasi experiment with the non randomized pre-test-post-test control group design. This research as many as 20 subjacts. Agility measured with a zig-zag run test and Leg muscle power measured with a vertical jump tests, then the data were analyzed with the aid of a computer program SPSS 16.0. The results of the analysis of agility on a shadow step treatment group, the mean of gaint score increased of 0,49, in the control group there was an increase of 0,25. The result of the analysis of leg muscle power on a shadow step treatment group, the mean of gaint score increased of 9,1, in the control group there was an increase of 5,0. The results of t-Independent agility variables between the treatment and control groups obtained Taccount of 5,082 with significance 0,000, leg muscle power variables between the treatment and control groups obtained Taccount of 6,403 with significance 0,000. From the results of the data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that; (1) shadow step training effect on the increase in agility men's badminton extracurricular of SMPN 1 Ubud. Kosakata adalah hal yang penting untuk diingat oleh individu, namun terkadang individu merasa sulit untuk mengingat kosakata. Individu memerlukan sebuah metode yang dapat membantu untuk mengingat dengan mudah kosakata beserta artinya atau tidak mudah lupa dengan kosakata yang telah dipelajari sebelumnya. Keyword mnemonic merupakan salah satu cara untuk membantu individu dalam mengingat kosakata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas keyword mnemonic dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengingat arti kosakata bahasa inggris. Subjek penelitian ini melibatkan 56 siswa SMP Negeri 13 Makassar yang belum menghafal kosakata bahasa Inggris beserta artinya. Desain eksperimen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah control group posttest-only design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok yang menggunakan keyword mnemonic dan kelompok kontrol. Kelompok yang menggunakan keyword mnemonic (mean=1.14) memperoleh hasil lebih tinggi dari kelompok kontrol (mean=-5.14) (p=0.000<0.05). Penelitian ini bermanfaat bagi individu yang ingin mengingat dengan mudah dan dapat digunakan dalam waktu jangka panjang. Kata kunci: Keyword mnemonic, mengingat, kosakata Vocabulary is an important thing to be remembered by the people, but sometimes people find it difficult to remember the vocabulary. Individuals need a method that can help to remember vocabulary and their meanings easily or not easily forget the vocabulary that have been studied previously. Keyword mnemonic is one of the method to assist individuals in remembering vocabulary. The purposed of this study was to determine the effectiveness  keyword mnemonic to improve the ability to remember the meaning of the english vocabulary. Subjects of this study involving 56 students of senior high school of thirteen Makassar who have not memorized the English vocabulary and their meanings yet. Experimental design used in this study is the posttest-only control group design. The results showed that there are significant differences between the groups using the keyword mnemonic and control groups. The groups that use the keyword mnemonic (mean=1.14) obtain higher yields than the control group (mean=-5.14) (p=0.000<0.05). Increasing motivation is necessary for students in learning English vocabulary. The higher motivation the students gain, the bigger success they achieve in mastering vocabulary. However, most students in senior high schools have less motivation in learning vocabulary, especially in memorizing them. Thus, the teachers need to discover appropriate media for increasing their motivation. Some applications can be used through the smartphone as the need for vocabulary learning. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of using Quizlet Application as the media for increasing the students’ motivation in learning vocabulary. Nonequivalent control group design was used in this research. The participants were 65 students who were divided into the experimental and the control groups. The students’ motivation was observed during the process of vocabulary learning by using the observation checklist. In processing the data, the Wilcoxon test was used. The results show the use of Quizlet Application is effective to increase the students’ motivation in learning vocabulary. Students felt more enthusiastic, did not get bored easily, and thus showed high interest when learning vocabulary via the app. They also did the tasks provided in that application independently.

The main purpose of this study was to examine the effect ofcommunicative approach on creative writing among 9th graders. It wasfound from the literature that different aspects of creative writing can bedeveloped through communicative approach. The pretest posttestnonequivalent control group design, that is, Quasi Experimental designwas used. To carry out this investigation six classes from two schools,one public and one private, were selected to collect data for the purpose.206 students were conveniently selected for experimentation. There were33 girls and 173 boys in all the experimental and control groups. Fourtasks of the creative writing were carefully chosen from literature andwere pilot tested at a smaller group of students. After pilot testing, minorchanges were incorporated. The pre-test was administered to control andexperimental groups. Communicative lessons were delivered in theexperimental classrooms only. The same pre-test was used as the posttestas well. The creative compositions were evaluated in the light ofscoring rubrics. They were rechecked by relevant class instructors forinter-rater reliability. The data were analyzed using t-statistics and thesoftware SPSS. Results of the research showed that communicativeapproach had a noteworthy influence on the increase of creative writingskills among secondary level learners. The outcomes of the research areworthwhile for teachers, curriculum specialists, syllabi designers andpolicy makers. In addition, communicative approach is recommended forteaching of writing any genre in English.

Traditional laboratory chemistry experiments are often constrained by cost.Alternatively, the researcher developed a General Chemistry Laboratory Moduleof Small-Scale Experiments that can be performed individually by tertiaryfreshmen at lesser expense. It includes five experiments aligned with the Trendsin International Mathematics and Science Study TIMSS’ topics in Chemistry;hence, also offers public secondary schools the prospect of extensive chemistrylaboratory capability that can upgrade their performance in the TIMSS’assessment in science. A non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design wasused to investigate the effects of small-scale and traditional chemistry experimentson achievement, conceptual understanding and level of participation of theexperimental and control groups respectively. Validated and reliability-testedmultiple-choice tests measured achievement while concept maps with very stronginter-rater reliability assessed conceptual understanding. The experimental group showed greater percent gain in achievement and conceptual understanding, and a strong association between the variables. The independent t-test found nosignificant difference between experimental and control groups in achievementand conceptual understanding but the level of participation scored through aresearcher-made rubric gave a higher average for the experimental group. Onthe basis of achievement, conceptual understanding, and level of participation, small-scale chemistry experiments were found to be appropriate substitutes fortraditional laboratory experiments - pedagogically effective with added values ofbeing environment-friendly and cheap.Keywords: Chemical education, small-scale achievement, conceptual understanding,level of participation, non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design,Philippines

An attempt to train conservation of area, weight, and volume to a group of 16 nonconserving black teenagers (ages 14.5 yr. to 17.8 yr.) is reported. A standard pretest-posttest control group design was employed. The neo-Piagetian model of intellectual development proposed by Pascual-Leone formed the basis for training procedures. Significant training effect was demonstrated for area and weight conservation ( p < .01), however, volume proved to be harder to train. No significant differences were found between experimental and control groups on volume task posttests. The effects of training did not significantly generalize to a conservation of length task. Over-all pre- to posttest gains in conservation were shown ( p < .001) for both experimental and control groups. The very fluid and changeable nature of Ss' logical versus non-logical-perceptual responses suggested a rapid shift between right and left hemisphere brain activity when confronted with the conservation tasks.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas biblioterapi kelompok dalam menurunkan agresivitas pada siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain Pretest-Postest Control Group Desain. Sampel dipilih berdasarkan hasil seleksi menggunakan skala agresivitas. Penempatan kelompok eksperimen menggunakan randomisasi. Sebanyak 18 siswa sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 18 siswa sebagai kelompok kontrol. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk pretest dan post test adalah skala agresivitas yang terdiri dari 55 pernyataan. Biblioterapi dilaksanakan sebanyak 7 sesi dengan menggunakan naskah-naskah cerita yang telah mendapat penilaian kelayakan dari Psikolog. Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji F menghasilkan perbedaan agresivitas yang signifikan antara gainscore kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Selain itu terdapat perbedaan agresivitas yang signifikan pada kelompok eksperimen sebelum dan sesudah intervensi, sedangkan pada kelompok control tidak ada perbedaan agresivitas yang signifikan antara pretest dan post test. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa biblioterapi kelompok dapat menurunkan agresivitas siswa.  This study aims to determine the effectiveness of bibliotherapy in reducing aggressiveness in elementary students. This study used an experimental method with the pretest-posttest control group design. The sample is chosen based on the results of the selection using an aggressiveness scale. Placement of the experimental group using randomization. A total of 18 students as the experimental group and 18 students as a control group. The measuring instrument used for the pretest and post-test is an aggressiveness scale consisting of 55 statements. Bibliotherapy was carried out as many as seven sessions using story scripts that had received a feasibility assessment from a Psychologist. The results of data analysis using the F test produced a significant difference in aggressiveness between the gain score of the experimental and control groups. The results showed that there were substantial differences in aggressiveness in the experimental group before and after the intervention. Whereas, in the control group, there was no significant difference in aggressiveness between the pretest and post-test. It can be concluded that bibliotherapy effectively reduces student aggressiveness.

This paper reports the usage of Japanese karaoke films in order to enhance learning Japanese vocabulary among students in a university in Taiwan. A pretest-posttest control-group design was implemented in which the treatment students (55 girls and 48 boys) were given Japanese vocabulary lessons via listening to and watching two karaoke films, while the control group (62 girls and 47 boys) received their Japanese vocabulary lessons through only listening to the same songs (N=212, P ≤ 0.05). The treatment lasted for six consecutive regular general Japanese classes in which the last 20 minutes of the session was allocated to this experiment. The statistical independent samples T-tests used for each of the three comparisons in this study revealed a significant higher gain scores for the girls treatment group, while the boys treatment and control, as well as the general (all) students  treatment and control groups did not show any significant difference. Given the ever-growing usage of karaoke in many countries such as Taiwan, the authors believe that addressing the possible and potential capabilities of such a favorable activity, particularly among the youth, can prove effective and helpful in teaching/learning Japanese and other languages.

This research was Quasy Experiment with a pre-test-post-test with control group design. Sample this research was 30 pregnant women, that were divided into 2 groups :  the intervention group who were given beet with Fe supplementation (n = 15) and the control group was given Fe tablets (n = 15). Supplementation of beetroot to a pregnant women with anemia who were recieived Fe supplementation could increase hemoglobin levels (p = 0,000), hematocrit levels (p = 0,000), number of erythrocytes (p = 0.001), so there were significant differences in mean delta hemoglobin levels, hematocrit, and erythrocyte counts. There were differences in hemoglobin and erythrocyte levels in the intervention and control groups before and after treatment. Supplementation of 8 gram beetroot powder for 14 days to pregnant mother with anemia who were receive Fe tablets could increase hemoglobin and hematocrit levels, and number of erythrocytes
