The purpose of the article is to analyse the current state of development of Ukraine’s mechanical engineering, looking at export trends of mechanical engineering products across product groups and the main importing countries. The analysis indicates that Ukrainian exports of engineering products have declined significantly in recent years. The low export orientation of machine-building production is mainly due to the low level of innovation investment, as a result of which the technological development of Ukraine’s machine building industry not aligned with the requirements of the global market. The author indicates directions of machine-building production that can make the Ukrainian industry more competitive in the future arguing that thanks to the current production capacity and technological skills, availability of the labour force, research institutions, opportunities for international cooperation, Ukraine is well-positioned to increase the export potential of the mechanical engineering industry.

The aim of study is to investigate the role of machine-building industry production in total industrial complex, the research status, the challenges and to identify priorities for further development of engineering in Ukraine that are taking into account the requirements of the Modern market.  Research object. The object of the research is the machine-building industry of Ukraine and its condition in the conditions of world globalization. Methods. Research methods that were used in the process of writing the article - providing for the application of General scientific and empirical approaches to economic science – were based on a systematic approach. The appliance of the dialectical method allows us to highlight the features of modern innovation processes, furthermore, to explore the problems of creating an investment-attractive environment in the machine-building industry of Ukraine.  The traditional method is applied in the study of previous experience chronology of events and facts in the development of the economy of Ukraine.  General scientific systematical and logical methods were also used to obtain research conclusions.  The basis of the information in this paper is on the researches consisted of monographs, scientific articles of domestic, foreign articles, legal activities of the enterprises and data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. The hypothesis of the study. Continuous monitoring of the current state of machine building in Ukraine and implementation of the results of its practical analysis will improve the investment attractiveness of the industry.  Presentation of the main material. In this scientific article the role of mechanical Engineering as the leading industry of economy of Ukraine is investigated.  Based on statistical data, the dynamics of the main indicators of development of the machine-building industry of Ukraine for 2010-2018 was analyzed. Significant problems of the studied area are Identified, priorities for further development are determined.  The originality and practical significance of this study is to investigate deeply the main problems of investment attractiveness of the engineering industry.  also this study’s main provisions can serve as a scientific basis for the development of machine-building enterprises, in the context of the study of the problems of increasing the investment attractiveness of the industry.  Conclusions of the study. Since Mechanical Engineering is one of the leading industries, it is an indicator of the technical level of the country.  Lack of financial resources at the enterprises through problems such as low speed potential restoration of production in industry were solved. This leaded to braking of the General development of mechanical engineering of Ukraine.  In challenging situations of financial and economic activity, the enterprises of the machine-building industry need support from the State, in particular that needs a part of tax incentives for large-scale projects to modernize production facilities and Provide domestic producers with state orders.  According to the results of the conducted research it can be argued that the main stimulus for the realization of the industry’s potential is the lack of material resources.  Therefore, the solution for problems of increasing the investment attractiveness of industry will insure the further development of machine-building complex of Ukraine.

Machine building is a leading industry in advanced countries. It provides many industries with machines and equipment as it is the main link in the system of intersectoral linkages. Innovations in engineering create the basis for increasing production and qualitative changes in the structure of industry, that creates a synergistic effect for the economy as a whole. Thus, it secures full employment for highly skilled employees, promotes the growth of the level of educational background of the population and contributes to the development of the scientific and technological potential of the country. However, underinvestment in innovation technologies and processes, a limited character of the import substitution model and an insufficient support of the export model greatly hinder rapid and effective development of the machine-building industry. Specific peculiarities of the machine building development such as R&D intensity, labor intensity, and the intensity of metal use, the need in cooperation and consumer orientation influence their geographic location. Despite the decline in the number of enterprises and employment in the machine-building industry, the industry’s contribution to the GVA is stable. At the same time, the state’s interest in the development of all sectors with high added value will influence the future of engineering. In statistics innovative activity in mechanical engineering began to be considered relatively recently. The highest rates of innovation are high-tech engineering. The state’s share in supporting innovation in both manufacturing and engineering is increasing. The coefficients of specialization are calculated for all Federal districts and each of the 85 subjects of the Federation for the period from 2007 to 2017. Calculations were carried out for all types of economic activity, according to the classifier of OKVED. The specialization industries for each of the regions are identified. The group of regions where engineering is concentrated is defined. These 19 regions did not change their industry of specialization during the analyzed period from 2008 to 2017.

The article provides a comparative analysis of future primary school teacher training programs to working in a multilingual environment on the example of Artesis Plantijn Hogeschool Antwerpen and Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University. General tendencies in teacher training at the level of content and methodological support are highlighted and systematized. They are the duration of general pedagogical training, competency-based training, interactive learning, individualization of the professional trajectory of the future teacher, interdisciplinary integration at the level of the educational program, the study of foreign languages and teaching methodology. A significant importance before the enrollment to a Hogeschool in Flanders is given to a placement test enabling various types of further individualization of the professional training. In Ukraine individualization is applied after the institutional screening test. As evidenced by a curriculum analysis in both Flanders and Ukraine, study time of general pedagogical subjects is the same. A competency-based approach goes through the entire curriculum up to practical training which occupies a major place in the teacher training process. Teacher training to working in a multilingual environment takes place while learning foreign languages, teaching methodology, and studying socio-cultural modules/subjects. This approach is ensured through interdisciplinary integration within the curriculum. For instance, in Flanders students are offered a multilingual subject program, built as a language maintenance program type A (according to J. Cenoz) in both Dutch and French. In Ukraine students are offered an integrated course of English and teaching methodology. According to the results of our research, multilingual content of teacher training is more developed in Flanders. Therefore, further research of primary school teacher training to working in the multilingual environment in Wallonia and Brussels is needed
