Background: Family Physician plan is known as one of the most appropriate strategies to implement rural health insurance program in the form of referral system in Iran. This study aims to determine the satisfaction of family physicians and service consumers and its causes of dissatisfaction in the South of Iran. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed in Kerman Health Network. Nineteen family physicians and 370 service consumers were selected using stratified random sampling. Data was gathered using two standardized questionnaires. Frequency tables, frequency percentage, mean graphs, Z and Freedman statistical tests were used to analyze the data. Results: Mean scores of physicians’ satisfaction were 9.10 and 4.12 in staff performance and payment system, respectively. Service consumers were satisfaction of physician delivery care (7.25), and para-medical (3.61). Moreover, most physicians were interested in per capita (31/6%). Conclusion: Family physician and health service consumers are highly satisfied. Satisfaction is an important factor for ensuring service quality and any ignorance in this regard can reduce the quantity and quality of delivered care. Physicians are recommended to respect their consumers and consider their waiting time. Meanwhile, health system managers should promote physicians’ payment. [GMJ.2015;4(2):96-102]

Hospital is a comprehensive form of health service institution, includes aspects of promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitation, as well as a public health referral center. Demand on healthcare service theory consists of revenue, visit cost and  service quality. Anuntaloko Regional General Hospital Parigi Moutong Regency is a referral center and regionalization hospital in Central Sulawesi Province, which the number of visits in 2016 to 2018 in a row were 19.186, 10.971 and 12.954. The study was purposed to determined Relation Between Requests for Use of Health Service and Patient Satisfaction on Inpatient Care Unit at Anuntaloko Regional General Hospital Parigi Moutong Regency. This was a quatitative analysis research with the cross sectional study approach. The population was patients on Inpatient Care Unit of Anuntaloko Regional General Hospital which amounted to 12.954 sampels and through purposive sampling technique. Data was analyzed univariate and bivariate variables using Chi-Square Test. The results showed that there are relation between revenue (p=0,002), visit cost (p=0,002) and service quality (p=0,000) with patients satisfaction on Inpatient Care Unit at Anuntaloko Regional General Hospital Parigi Moutong Regency. The Anuntaloko Regional General Hospital Parigi Moutong Regency is expected to observe routinly so that maintaining the service quality of the good things and improving the service quality of the lack variabels.

Background: Family physicians have a pivotal role in responding to the medical community's needs and have a crucial role in disaster health management. Family physicians have several tasks and duties during and after the disaster, such as event detection, critical information’ collection and distribution, and rehabilitative activities. It is important to identify the level of awareness of the family physicians regarding their role in the management of disasters. Aim: To assess the awareness of family physician residents of their roles in disaster health management, Saudi Arabia. Methods: This study was cross-sectional; it was performed on Saudi family physician residents in family practice clinics and centers in Saudi Arabia. A self-administrated questionnaire has been sent electronically to the participants to investigate their awareness. IMB SPSS version 22 was used to analyze the collected data. Results: This study included 400 family physicians; more than one-half 52.75%were in the age of 28-30 years old. There were 61.5% worked previously at hospital emergency services. A few percentages reported receiving training on disaster medicine management in the clinic, 38.5%. 47.75% reported willingness to train on disaster management. There was 71% of physicians had high knowledge regarding their role in disaster management. Conclusion: There was high awareness among the family physicians regarding their role in the management of disaster with an acceptable attitude toward receiving training.

Quality of service is a service that suits your needs, affordable, effective, efficient, and no risk to save on expenses. This study aimed to analyze the description of BPJS patient satisfaction with the quality of nursing service at inpatient ward of hospital in Jember. This was a cross sectional study. The subjects of this study were BPJS patients at inpatient ward at hospital in Jember. There were 120 respondents choosed by purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Patient Satisfaction with Nursing Care Quality Questionnaire (PNSCQQ). This study showed that the patient satisfaction is not optimal. Indicators of general perception of patients in each statement showed that 80 patients (63.5%) said the overall quality of health service received was good. The overall quality of nursing service was also said to be good by 80 patients (63.5%). As many as 90 patients (71.5%) agreed that they wanted to recommend one of the hospital in Jember to family and friends who needed help in terms of health service. This research showed that it is important to improve the quality of nursing service to increase patient satisfaction. Nurses need to improve nursing care. This research can be used as a reference and illustration for hospital management, and nurses are expected to implement and improve quality nursing service in order to achieve better health service so patient satisfaction will be increase.

Introduction:  Infected vegetables are a means of transmitting various and widespread parasitic and infectious diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the knowledge, attitude, and practice of women referring to comprehensive urban health service centers regarding vegetable disinfection in order to assess the educational needs in this regard and to make the necessary plans to increase people’s knowledge. Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study. The study population was women referring to comprehensive health service centers. A sample with a volume of 180 people was selected from a total of 5 districts in the north, south, east, west, and center of Yazd, which has a total of 22 comprehensive urban health service centers.  The data were collected using a questionnaire and entered into the computer through SPSS statistical software. Depending on the type of variables, appropriate statistical tests, such as ANOVA were used. Results: The results showed that about 54.4% of women in this study had a good knowledge about vegetable disinfection. According to ANOVA test, there was a statistically significant relationship between attitude and occupation (p = 0.002). However, there was no statistically significant relationship between knowledge and practice with occupation (p = 0.46) and (p = 0.87). There was also no statistically significant relationship between knowledge, attitude, and practice with education level. Conclusion: According to the results, it is necessary to use an educational program on the proper use of disinfectants for women in comprehensive health centers

<p><strong>BACKGROUND</strong><strong>: </strong>Proper communication with patients plays an important role in nursing cares.</p><p><strong>OBJECTIVE:</strong> The aim of this study was Investigation of nursing students’ verbal communication quality during patients’ Education in Zahedan hospitals: southeast of Iran</p><p><strong>MATERIALS &amp; METHODS: </strong>A cross-sectional study was conducted on 95 nursing students in two Educational hospitals of Zahedan, Iran from November 2013 through March 2014.sampling method was census. Researcher made checklist was used to gather the data.<strong> </strong>Statistical tests of frequency distribution, mean, SD and chi-squire were used to analyze the data.</p><p><strong>RESULTS</strong><strong>: </strong>Most of the students in the start N=45 (47.4%) and during N=48(50.5%) of verbal communication with the patients had the good verbal communication but in the end of communication the patients most students N=33 (34.7%) had average verbal communication and N=31 (32.6%) of them had poor verbal communication.</p><p><strong>CONCLUSION</strong><strong>: </strong>Since quality of verbal communication in the end of patient education is poor and good communication between the patient and nurse is the basic component of patient care and its Educational plans should be coordinated with clinical practices and be parallel to it, also effective methods must be used.</p>

AbstractObjectives:To describe a method of using real patients in teaching ENT to undergraduates and to examine whether being a case patient affected patient satisfaction.Methods:In a cross-sectional study, 68 teaching-involved patients (case patients) with a suspected common ENT illness and 68 matched (in terms of age, sex and region of complaint) control patients evaluated the health service and their encounter with the physician. The students saw the case patients first independently and then saw the patient with the teacher physician. The controls were treated in a normal way.Results:Fifty-eight case patients (84 per cent) and 65 control patients (95 per cent) answered the questionnaire. The median duration of the visit was significantly longer for the case patients than the controls (115 vs 60 minutes). Almost all patients in both groups graded the overall quality of the health service, and the variables describing various aspects of the setting and the encounter with the physician, as either good or excellent.Conclusion:Patients who took part in the undergraduate teaching of ENT diseases were equally content with their primary visit as the control patients, even though their visit took a markedly longer time.

Oral health contributes to personal wellbeing and quality of life. Use of tobacco in smoke or smokeless form is one of the driving reasons for global mortality. Also, it plays a major role in causing morbidity of major non- communicable diseases, including tooth morbidity in the form of periodontitis and tooth mortality. Therefore, the aim of the study is to find out the prevalence and association of nicotine dependence and tooth loss. A retrospective study was done using the case records of outpatients attending a private Dental College and Hospital. One month case records with a total of 100 case sheets of current smoker males were retrieved. Case sheets which recorded nicotine dependence using the Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence (FTND) and the number of tooth loss were used for data analysis. Descriptive and chi-square association were the statistical tests done. Patients of age more than 45 (27%) have a lesser dependency for the tobacco of 22.2% when compared to 15 to 30 years (39%) have tobacco dependency of 50%. In between lies the age group of 30-35 years (34%) had tobacco dependency of (27.7%), and there was no statistically significant association between level of nicotine dependency and tooth loss (P&gt;0.05). Patients with high nicotine dependency of age 15-30 years had minimum tooth loss than patients of age more than 45years with a low level of nicotine dependency.

The effect of acne vulgaris on the quality of life of adult females is not readily documented nor the factors that impair quality of life in these adult females. The aim of this study was to document quality of life impairment and the factors that affect this quality of life in adult female acne patients. The study was a prospective cross sectional study of 56 adult female acne patients aged 25 years and above. Socio-demographic data, clinical examination were documented with a study proforma. Quality of life was assessed using Cardiff Acne Disability Index (CADI). Data was analysed using SPSS version 22. Mean of independent groups were compared using Students ‘t’ test while Chi squared test was used to compare categorical variables. For all statistical tests, P value <0.05 was adjudged to be significant. The mean age of the participants was 33.4± 8.2 and mean CADI was 6.6±3.8, minimum CADI was 2 and maximum was 15. Quality of life impairment was mild, moderate and severe in 35.7%, 37.5% and 26.8% respectively. The items affected in the CADI index were questions about “Perception of how bad pimples were,” “Feelings about appearance of skin,” and “Aggression, frustration and embarrassment.” Factors associated with quality of life impairment were age, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, presence of scarring. Quality of life is impaired by acne in adult females. This impairment is made worse by age, presence of scarring and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and not marital status, level of education and a family history of acne.

Introduction: Frailty syndrome, which affects the quality of life negatively in patients of 65 years old and over, can be observed from physical inactivity to immobility, and can affect cognitive disorders. General symptoms of frailty are; slowing walking speed, involuntary weight loss, decreased appetite, decreased body mass index (BMI), decreased muscle strength, feeling insufficient while doing physical activity, weakness, fatigue, impaired cognitive functions, and memory loss. Fragility is reversible, but if it is not noticed earlier it can progress to immobility or death. Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) is important in detecting a frail elderly. The aim of the study is to determine the knowledge level of family physicians in Erzincan. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study. It is aimed to reach at least 80% of family physicians (FPs) employed actively in 73 primary care units in Erzincan. The researchers applied questionnaire face-to-face to the participants. Erzincan Clinical Research Ethics Committee approval was received for the study. SPSS 23 statistics program was used for data analysis. Results: The frailty questionnaire was applied to 58 FPs. Only 12.1% of FPs correctly answered the question of which word first comes to mind for ‘frailty’. The 74.1% (n: 43) of participants did not consider themselves sufficient for CGA, and 70.7% (n: 41) of participants wanted training on CGA. The answer for question if they evaluate the patients for frailty in homecare visits was yes in 38.2%. Conclusion: It can be said that the ‘frailty’ knowledge level of FPs should be increased in Erzincan. In light of the data obtained, it may be suggested to organize “frailty” and CGA trainings for family physicians. Frailty and CGA should be included in undergraduate medical education and continuous trainings of FPs.
