Analysis of the most common design and technological solutions used in thermal modernization, showed the impossibility of choosing the optimal solution for a single enclosing structure only by direct assessment of physical, mechanical and technical and economic characteristics. It is proposed to select the optimal design and technological solution in thermal modernization projects from all possible in two stages. At the first stage, it is necessary to discard those solutions, the implementation of which for this type of building is technically impossible or economically or technically impractical. In the second - to assess the system of indicators that comprehensively characterize the design and technological solution. In the article, based on the analysis of literature sources and the authors' own experience in the development and maintenance of thermal modernization projects, a system of criterion evaluation for structural and technological solutions of thermal modernization is developed. The criterion evaluation system for structural and technological solutions of thermal modernization contains a number of indicators that take into account the physicochemical properties of the insulation, environmental friendliness, reliability and stability of the insulation system, technological factors such as maintainability, seasonality, high quality of work due to system technology, ability to sound insulation, economy, artistic efficiency. The method of expert evaluations for each criterion and sub-criterion determines its weight in the overall evaluation. The system of evaluation of technical decisions of thermal modernization of enclosing designs developed by us provides that the estimation on criteria which have subcriteria is defined as the sum of estimations of subcriteria. The evaluation of the criteria is carried out on a five-point scale. The optimal technical solution is the solution that received the highest score on the total.

CSMA/CA-based DCF of 802.11 MAC layer employs a best-effort delivery model, in which stations compete for channel access with the same priority. In a heterogeneous network, providing different priorities to different applications for required quality of service is a challenging task, since heterogeneous conditions result in unfairness among stations and degradation in the throughput. This paper proposes a class of collision resolution schemes for 802.11 having contention window control with nonoverlapped contention slots. In the first scheme, window ranges of two consecutive stages are nonoverlapped, and it is called nonoverlapped contention slots (NOCS) scheme. In the other scheme, termed as NOCS-offset, an offset is introduced between window ranges of two stages. Selection of a random value by a station for its contention with discontinuous distribution results in reduced probability of collision. Analytical and simulation results show that the proposed scheme exhibits higher throughput and fairness with reduced delay and collision probability in homogeneous and heterogeneous networks. Performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated for mix traffic and high data rate environment with advanced back-off management techniques to meet the requirements of the present applications.

An efficient and effective mechanism is required for quality education in schools, colleges, and universities. After the pandemic worldwide, every organization worked online from home instead of on the site. The educational institutes started online classes using various platforms. The quality of education using online classes is affected by numerous factors, including hardware, software, and the internet. Therefore, in this paper, the quality evaluation of internet education using a regression algorithm is proposed. The proposed system optimizes the hardware design and functions of the client end of the internet education of colleges and universities. It determines the time response data sequence of the grey prediction model and ensures that the proposed scheme’s prediction accuracy is high. By adopting the logistic regression, the rules for the overall evaluation of the education quality are formulated. The database of the rules for the overall evaluation of the education quality of the internet of colleges and universities is generated. Experimental results show that the response time of the education quality evaluation system is about 1.3 sec. The probability of failure is very low than the existing literature.

AbstractThe paper presents dynamical models of controlling voltage and frequency of ship’s electric supply set. The simulation model of synchronous generator, implemented in Matlab/Simulink, was described. For the developed simulation model, developed control systems using fuzzy controllers type P and PD were presented. Simulation research for resistance, inductive and capacitive loads were carried out for these regulators. Sample results of simulation tests are presented in the form of voltage waveforms at the output of the generator and rotational speed of the internal combustion engine for various load conditions. The conducted tests allow to assess the quality of the control process using fuzzy controllers and thus ensure the selection of the optimal solution.

Teachers’ styles, and mainly their attitudes, are strong context outcomes, rooted in experience and do not become automatic routine conducts, in the sense that they are developed via very slow interactions and become well established constructs for each individual only after some time. In that sense attitudes can be modified only by each individual, when he/she becomes aware, via elements and evidence, that new postures would be better to deal with the world around. In the present study data regarding the attitude of teachers towards information technology was gathered with the help of survey method. All the school teachers of districts Bilaspur and Hamirpur of Himachal Pradesh constituted the population of the study. In order to ensure high quality of research, selection of a good sample is must. For this purpose sampling was done at two stages. At the first stage 14 schools were selected and in the second stage 150 teachers were selected randomly from the each selected school. Keeping in view the nature of the present study the investigator used the standardized tool, “Attitude towards Information Technology Scales. The reliability of the tool is 0.88. To find out the significance of difference between the various groups ‘t’-test was applied. The findings of the study revealed that gender-wise, locality-wise, school teachers do not differed significantlyin their attitude towards information technology.

The paper aims to evaluate the psychological factors of the comfort performance of the hanok. This is to guide restoration and improvement in consideration of the intangible variables that provide the quality of the hanok. Through this process, we ultimately intend to build an integrated residential performance evaluation system that includes factors related to the quality of residents’ lives, such as the comfort of their surrounding and indoor environment, as well as the functionality and convenience of the hanok, a representative type of Korean traditional architecture. The test method to evaluate the comfort performance of hanok is largely divided into the physical perception element, which is a quantitative indicator, and the psychological cognitive element, which is a qualitative indicator. Physical perceptive factors are composed of nine quantifiable factors that can be measured by numerical values, namely humidity control, condensation, insulation, thermal comfort, air permeability, solar radiation, solar lighting, sound insulation, and air cleanness. This is a perceptual concept of viewing a building as it is, and a quantitative evaluation method of measuring data in the field using environmental sensors and equipment. Psychological cognitive factors that are evaluated based on the experiences of users (residents) living in hanok, are classified into five categories, of scenery, beauty, deodorization, usability, and health. This study was conducted through a questionnaire between experts and users (residents), limited to the psychological factors among methods of evaluating the comfort performance of hanok. As a result, it can be seen that environmental factors are the main variables that influence the degree of satisfaction with the psychological perception factor. This might be a merit factor of general hanok, and weight could be given when creating an integrated standard in the future.

Objective. To analyze the literature available on the psychometric properties of the instruments to measure knowledge, attitudes, and practices of the nursing care process. Methods. This was a narrative-type review conducted by following the recommendations of the PRISMA declaration. The search strategy was executed in two stages; through the search in databases by two reviewers and – thereafter – three reviewers identified independently the studies and evaluated the methodological quality of the measurement instruments by using the COnsensus-based Standards for the selection of health Measurement INstruments (COSMIN) property checklist boxes. Results. Of 71 studies identified for the full-text review, only seven complied with the inclusion criteria that represent four instruments (Q-DIO, D-CATCH, NP-CDSS, PNP). It was found that the instruments continue in their validation and appropriation processes to reality in health services. Conclusion. In spite of the evident evolution of the instruments to evaluate the implementation of the nursing care process, the need is still valid for an instrument that measures aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and practices in every stage of the process.

The second part of the article presents perspective directions of using boron and its compounds in the preparation processes, metallurgical processing of ore materials and steel smelting in order to improve the quality of the final product. An efficient technology of silicothermal production of ferrosilicoboron containing 0.6  –  2.0  %  B and 60  –  80  %  Si has been developed. The advantage of this scheme is the possibility of obtaining a  boron-containing alloy during ferrosilicon smelting. It has been experimentally shown that ferrosilicoboron has higher performance characteristics than ferroboron both in production and when used for steel processing. The results of industrial tests of the technology for microalloying pipe grades of steel with a new ferroalloy with boron confirmed a high degree of boron assimilation – up to 96  %. The possibility of widespread use of boron for steel microalloying is due to its cheapness, availability and environmental friendliness. According to the calculations, boron from complex ferrosilicoboron is the cheapest trace element used to increase the strength characteristics of steel. Additives of B2O3 can be successfully used to form high-magnesium liquid steel-making slags. It is shown that 0.37  –  0.55  %  В2О3 effectively stabilizes the highly basic slags of the steel and ferroalloy industries. This operation allows obtaining a marketable lump material. The above review, results of the laboratory and industrial studies have shown the effectiveness of boron usage at different stages of metallurgical production. An increase in technical and economic indicators of production and quality of steel and ferroalloys, and effective disposal of waste slags is shown. The technical solutions advanced and tested at metallurgical enterprises do not require capital expenditures. They are implemented by adding microdosing of boron and its compounds to metallurgical production facilities.
