 Yoruba people have a unique cultural heritage which engulfs every aspect of their lives; hence, guides them in their daily activities. It was borne in their heart, incise in their offspring, and pass from one generation to another. Unfortunately, this cultural heritage is almost lost today, as civilization has denigrated almost all these cherished cultural values in Yoruba communities. Undoubtedly, the family where the whole cultural decadence started from has great roles to play in restoring and preserving these cultural values. This is the thrust of this work. The essay is therefore approached from historical and ethical perspectives with phenomenological methodology to examine the cherished Yoruba cultural heritage. The findings of the work show that moral training through informal education; means of identity; communal responsibilities; ascribed roles; etc., are missing among the youths today. The paper adopts Mary Jo Hatch’s theory of cultural dynamics to examine the changes in Yoruba cultural heritage, the causes of decadence of this heritage; and the role of the family in enthroning Yoruba cultural heritage among the youths today. The essay recommends that family needs to rise for the restoration and 70 Awofeko Oyebanjo, and Shogunle preservation of these cultural heritages to combat the socio-cultural threat confronting the society.

Informing families about the impending or actual death of their relatives is one of the most challenging and complex tasks a physician may face. The following article describes goal setting and provides five roles/recommendations for conducting the encounter with patient families regarding the imminent or actual death of their relatives. Importantly, the encounter should be family-centred, and the physician should be highly attentive to family needs. The following roles should be applied based on family needs and should not be sequential as numbered. The first and basic role is to inform the family at the earliest possible time and as often as possible. The second goal of the physician is to convey to the family that their relative received the needed therapy during his hospitalisation or in the community. The third goal of the physician is to help the family reach acceptance of the death of their relative and leave the hospital having moved beyond anger and bargaining. The fourth goal of the physician during the encounters is to reduce or alleviate guilt by stating that nothing could have changed the course of the disease and that all efforts were made to save the patient. The fifth role of the physician is to try and help the family as a single entity and maintain their unity during this stressful situation. Following these roles/methods will help families in the stressful situation and will create the difference between anger and understanding, rage and compassion, and loss and acceptance.

Urgency Parents have an important role for Early Childhood Education especially with the covid outbreak so that children have to learn from home. This article aims to examine the urgency of Early Childhood Education education in the perspective of hadith, especially the hadith on the obligations of parents in educating children, which is associated with conditions in the era of the Coronavirus pandemi. Family is the first and foremost education for a person. Education in the family plays a role in developing character, personality, cultural values, religious and moral values, and simple skills. There is a physical distancing policy so that learning is carried out online (in a network) so that the role of parents is very urgent in ensuring the continuity of their children's education. is the responsibility of the parents; Second, the best gift parents give their children is a good education; Third, parents as the first and foremost madrasa, especially for early childhood, are responsible for their children's education.

This paper examines the role of parents as a source of character education for early childhood. This study was conducted using the library research method. The results of this study indicate that the role of parents is a determining factor for children's development, both physically and mentally, is the role of both parents as the first and main educators for children who are born until they are adults. In the process of forming knowledge, various parenting styles conveyed by parents are very important. Education in the family plays a very important role in developing the character, personality, cultural values, religious and moral values ​​, and simple skills of children. The role of parents in influencing the character of children is no longer borne by the mother only. The role of the father in shaping the character of the child is very large. Fathers are still obliged to participate in maintaining interactions with their children, such as inviting them to talk, joke, and play.

This chapter introduces the role of cultural dynamics in the digital age, thus explaining the theoretical and practical concepts of organizational culture, cultural values and belief systems, material culture and artifacts, language and communication systems, cultural interpenetration, deterritorialization, cultural pluralism, and hybridization; the categorization of cultural dimensions; and the application of cultural dynamics in the modern business world. Cultural influences are changing dramatically as cultures are no longer dependent on local resources to formulate their characteristic tastes, preferences, and behavior and are increasingly linked across vast geographic distances by modern communication media. Membership in a culture adapts to new cultural contexts while transporting elements of one culture to another. As membership in a culture becomes increasingly transitional, unique elements are less clearly demarcated or distinctive. Understanding the role of cultural dynamics in the digital age will significantly enhance organizational performance and achieve business goals in global business environments.

Rapid technological advancements have led to Smartphone revolution of becoming multifunctional personal devices. These smart phones are equipped with new features, including Internet access, cameras (pictures and videos) and MP3 players. The study examines the complex forces that influence and challenge the socio-cultural values among youth. It investigates the extent to which smart phones were used and their implications for youth in a society that is bounded within the Malay Islamic Monarchy concept. The research questions were explored through the use of qualitative research method, specifically, focus groups and in-depth interviews. The framework utilized to examine the data is the Uses & Gratifications theory. A number of significant findings signify firstly, the tendency for owning smart phone is influenced by the family. Parents gave smart phones to their children either as birthday gifts or after having performed well or passed their final Junior School Examination. Secondly, almost all of the respondents perceived smart phone as the most useful communication device as a mean to contact their friends and families. Thirdly, two important factors for smart phone ownership among youth include safety and emergency purposes. Finally, they also perceived smart phones as a status symbol.

[Mary Astell, Reflections upon Marriage (London, 1700), p. 66]The wife ought to be subject to the husband in all things. [Hannah Woolley, The Gentlewoman's Companion or a GUIDE to the Female sex (London, 1675), p. 104]IDid men and women have different cultural and material values in the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries? We know very little in detail about the activities of people within their homes and especially about their attitudes to the material goods that they used and that surrounded them. Virginia Woolf's complaint that she had no model to “turn about this way and that” in exploring the role of women in fiction applies equally to women's behavior as consumers, for we still do not know, as she put it, “what, in short, they did from eight in the morning till eight at night.” Did their particular roles within the household result in different material values, just as their biological and economic roles were different? We do know that power was unequally distributed within the household, although we can also demonstrate cooperation and affection between family members. We take it that the household was, in some sense, the woman's domain, but very often we cannot explore what this meant in practice. In short, was being “subjected to the inconstant, uncertain, unknown, arbitrary Will of Men” reflected in women's cultural values and tastes?These are broad questions that are not easily answered, either in theory or by observation, especially as it is not easy to identify the behavior of women as distinct from that of the family and household, but they are questions worth asking to see if there are signs of behavior different enough to warrant the view that there was a subculture in which women had the chance to express themselves and their views of the world separately, especially as the daily routines of their lives were different.

Salah   satu   keunikan   masyarakat   Madura   sampai   saat   ini   adalah   konsep   kobhung   yang   menjadi   tempat  penting  untuk  aktivitas  keagamaan  maupun  mengawasi  aktivitas  anggota  keluarga.  Walaupun  ada  fungsi  lain  yaitu  fungsi  ekonomi  maupun  sosial  yang  dimainkan  oleh  kobhung  tersebut.  Riset  ini  membahas  peran  kobhung  di  tengah  kebudayaan  Madura;  yang  posisinya  berada  di  sebelah  Barat  (kiblat) taneyanlanjheng (halaman panjang) di setiap permukiman  penduduk.  Ia  berfungsi  sebagai  pusat  aktivitas  laki-laki  (suami)  untuk  melakukan  transfer  nilai  religi  kepada  anak-anak  atau  isteri  mereka.  Di  sisi  lain,  ia  juga  sebagai  simbol  pengawasan  dan  kontrol (panopticon) keluar-masuk anggota keluarga, terutama laki-laki (suami) atas perempuan (istri). Hal ini terlegitimasi oleh tradisi patriarkal di masyarakat Madura   yang   tercermin   dalam   konsep   bhupa’, bhabhu,   ghuru,   rato   sangat   kental.   Konsep   ini   merupakan  sebuah  referential  standard  kepatuhan masyarakat Madura terhadap figur-figur utama secara  hirarkis. Oleh sebab itu, riset ini mengurai dinamika budaya  dan  upaya  istri  dalam  memposisikan  diri  mereka  di  tengah  budaya  patriarkhi.  Riset  ini  lebih  masuk   pada   jenis   kualitatif   fenomenologi   yang   meneropong   dinamika   relasi   suami-istri   tersebut   melalui peran kobhung. Koleksi data yang digunakan adalah  tehnik  interview  dan  observasi;  sedangkan  analisis  data  memakai  analisis  interaktif  Miles  dan  Hubermann. Riset ini menemukan bahwa perempuan di panagguan tidak bisa lepas dari konsep “tri aksi”, antara   lain:   adhandhan, arembi’,   dan   amassa’(merawat  diri,  melahirkan,  dan  memasak).  Konsep  ini  merupakan  wujud  dari  pengabdian  dirinya  atas  keluarga   yang   diyakini   sebagai   kodrat   (takdir).   Karenanya,  mereka  sama  sekali  tidak  menggugat;  bahkan  ia  menerima  dengan  lapang  dada  tentang  perannya di dalam rumah tangga. Kata Kunci: Kobhung, TaneyanLanjheng, Panoptikon   One of the uniqueness of the Madurese community until  now  is  the  concept  of  kobhung  which  has  become an important place for religious activities and oversees the activities of family members. Although there  are  other  functions,  namely  the  economic  and  social  functions  played  by  the  kobhung.  This  research   discusses   the   role   of   kobhung   among   Madura culture; whose position is in the west (qibla) taneyan lanjheng (long yard) in each residential area. It  functions  as  a  center  for  male  (husband)  activity  to  transfer  religious  values  to  their  children  or  their  wives.  On  the  other  hand  it  functions  as  a  symbol  of  supervision  and  control  (panopticon)  of  family  members,  especially  men  (husbands)  over  women  (wives). This is legitimized by the patriarchal tradition in the Madurese community which is reflected in the concepts  of  bhupa’,  bhabhu  ,  ghuru,  rato  that  was  very  thick.  This  concept  is  a  referential  standard  of  Madurese    compliance    with    hierarchical    main figures.  Therefore, this research outlines the cultural dynamics and the efforts of the wives in positioning themselves during patriarchal culture. This research is more into the qualitative type of phenomenology that  looks  at  the  dynamics  of  the  husband-wife  relationship  through  the  role  of  kobhung.  The  data  collection   used   was   interview   and   observation   techniques; while data analysis used the interactive analysis  by  Miles  and  Hubermann.  This  research  found that women in Panagguan cannot be separated from  the  concept  of  “three-action”,  among  others:  adhandhan,  arembi’,  and  amassa’  (taking  care  of  themselves, giving birth, and cooking). This concept is a manifestation of the devotion to the family which is  believed  to  be  natural  (destiny).  Therefore,  they  don’t sue at all; they even received gracefully about their role in the household. Background: The debranching starch enzymes, isoamylase 1 and 2 are well-conserved enzymes present in almost all the photosynthetic organisms. These enzymes are involved in the crystallization process of starch and are key components which remove misplaced α-1,6 ramifications on the final molecule. Aim: In this work, we performed a functional and structural study of a novel isoamylase from Ostreococcus tauri. Methods: We identified conserved amino acid residues possibly involved in catalysis. We also identified a region at the N-terminal end that resembles a Carbohydrate Binding Domain (CBM), which is more related to the family CBM48, but has no spatial conservation of the residues involved in carbohydrate binding. Results: The cloning, expression and biochemical characterization of this N-terminal region confirmed that it binds to polysaccharides, showing greater capacity for binding to amylopectin rather than total starch or amylose. Conclusion: This module could be a variant of the CBM48 family or it could be classified within a new CBM family.
