This conference was a rare occasion for Muslim scientists and scholarsto assemble and discuss the challenges facing the ummah. Inauguratedby Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari, the president of Pakistan, the conferenceconsisted of fifty papers presented in eight inaugural and plenary sessions. The issues discussed were of both theoretical and practical import. The theoretical papers focused on such questions as the nature and significanceof science, the concept of Islamic science, and Islamic epistemology.According to Ziauddin Sardar, who gave the public lecture "IslamicScience: The Way Ahead," science is a highly complex and multilayeredactivity, for no single and simple description of science can reveal its truenature; no romantic ideal can describe its real character; no sweepinggeneralization can uncover its authentic dimensions. In particular, both the extreme positions of scientific fundamentalism andfundamentalist relativism are untenable. He stated that science has been under the influence of the dominantwestern paradigm and that the selection of research priorities is of fundamentalimportance in scientific research, for "often it is the source of fundingthat defines what problem is to be investigated.'' Some 80 percent ofAmerican research is funded by the "military-industrial complex" and isgeared to producing military and industrial equipment. As modem science is based on western values and the priority given toscientific investigation is determined by western requirements, sciencemust be indigenized. Muslim countries have a valuable and untapped reservoirof knowledge and experience. so such an indigenization would be likea rediscovery. But this process, Sardar maintains, "must begin by a rejectionof both the axioms about nature, universe, time, and humanity as wella5 the goals and direction of western science and the methodology whichhac; made meaningless reductionism, objectification of nature, and tortureof animals its basic approach." By Islamic science he means a scientificactivity pursued within the framework of a set of fundamental Islamic concepts.Sardar supports the concepts, identified by Muslim scientists at theStockholm Seminar (1981), that should shape the science policies ofMuslim societies: tawhid (unity), khilafah (trusteeship), 'ibadah (worship) ...

According to Abdulaziz Sachedina, the main argument of religious pluralism in the Qur’an based on the relationship between private belief (personal) and public projection of Islam in society. By regarding to private faith, the Qur’an being noninterventionist (for example, all forms of human authority should not be disturb the inner beliefs of individuals). While the public projection of faith, the Qur’an attitude based on the principle of coexistence. There is the willingness of the dominant race provide the freedom for people of other faiths with their own rules. Rules could shape how to run their affairs and to live side by side with the Muslims. Thus, based on the principle that the people of Indonesia are Muslim majority, it should be a mirror of a societie’s recognizion, respects and execution of religious pluralism. Abdul Aziz Sachedina called for Muslims to rediscover the moral concerns of public Islam in peace. The call for peace seemed to indicate that the existence of increasingly weakened in the religious sense of the Muslims and hence need to be reaffi rmed. Sachedina also like to emphasize that the position of peace in Islam is parallel with a variety of other doctrines, such as: prayer, fasting, pilgrimage and so on. Sachedina also tried to show the argument that the common view among religious groups is only one religion and traditions of other false and worthless. “Antipluralist” argument comes amid the reality of human religious differences. This chapter presents a model of the interaction of media outlets, politicians, and the public with an emphasis on the tension between truth-seeking and narratives that confirm partisan identities. This model is used to describe the emergence and mechanics of an insular media ecosystem and how two fundamentally different media ecosystems can coexist. In one, false narratives that reinforce partisan identity not only flourish, but crowd-out true narratives even when these are presented by leading insiders. In the other, false narratives are tested, confronted, and contained by diverse outlets and actors operating in a truth-oriented norms dynamic. Two case studies are analyzed: the first focuses on false reporting on a selection of television networks; the second looks at parallel but politically divergent false rumors—an allegation that Donald Trump raped a 13-yearold and allegations tying Hillary Clinton to pedophilia—and tracks the amplification and resistance these stories faced.

This study uses a qualitative approach to examine what political and technical leaders of municipalities understand transparency and public information to mean, and what role they believe the different subjects involved (government, opposition, and the public) should have. The websites of 605 Spanish councils with more than 100,000 inhabitants were analysed and three focus groups were held with political and technical leaders from a selection of sample councils. The results show that the technical and political leaders of the councils do not have a clear awareness of their function of management accountability or of the need to apply journalistic criteria to the information they publish, defending with nuances the use of propaganda criteria to focus on the actions of the local government, its information, the lack of space dedicated to public debate and the opposition’s actions. In relation to accountability and citizen participation, they have a negative view of citizens, who they describe as being disengaged. However, they emphasize that internally it is essential to continue improving in terms of the culture of transparency and the public information they provide citizens.

The increasing need for property in Tanjungpinang City is very growing, especially in the housing sector. Selection of property based on location and facilities and infrastructure is always a consideration for the community in making decisions to buy a property. Difficulty finding property location information in a certain area often occurs, resulting in people not getting references about the properties offered in Tanjungpinang City. The purpose of this research is to create a web-based geographic information system (GIS) regarding the distribution of the number of properties on offer, especially in Tanjungpinang City using a web-based mapping approach. In the development of Property GIS the author uses the Waterfall method and in the analysis of system requirements it is modeled with UML (Unified Modeling Language) and implemented with the PHP programming language and MySQLI database. It is hoped that the results of making this property's geographic information system can help the public to find out information about the distribution of properties offered, such as the location of property coordinates, addresses, prices, property photos, property specification data and property developer data.
