The article presents studies on the new challenges posed to education, and it is essential to think about the evaluation model used by teachers today. Therefore, we sought to analyze the evaluation planning processes carried out in the initial grades of elementary school. The results were obtained through the use of the bibliographic research method of descriptive nature and qualitative approach, performing the analysis of contents of books and scientific articles that allowed connecting the studies and empirical perspectives of the researcher, guiding the construction of the results in three sections, which were described from this point on. In the development of the article, the evaluation of teaching and learning was analyzed, and the importance of self-assessment for the impartial educator was described; and, it was possible to understand, briefly, the adoption of participatory evaluation by objectives in the educational reality of elementary school. It was concluded that the problem of the article was answered, the general objective was reached and it was confirmed the hypothesis that any instrument used by teachers and the school to perform the evaluation, configures a way to establish levels of learning, recognize the best and the worst, and especially, adapt the teaching to the standards of excellence installed by the school. Standardized measures have diverted the democratic, critical, constructive and creative sense of evaluation, preventing the path of effective learning.

The university learning process must be self-planned, self-directed, self-initiated, and frequently individually completed. To be able to achieve these goals, the students must have certain knowledge and skills. One of these is the reflective ability, developed through different modalities and using different tools. This article presents a qualitative interpretation of the students' responses written in a reflective journal, at the end of a semester, as a tool for self-assessment and self-reflection and feedback on the educational activities in which they were involved. We present, anonymously, the dominant answers for each item grouped in reflective dimensions about the teaching and learning process. Based on these responses, we tried to identify characteristics and/or difficulties in the teaching and learning process, not only to summarize and analyze but to value and/or optimize them in the future university educational process.

Knowledge transmission and knowledge construction are two common approaches adopted for teaching and learning in higher education. Applying the two different approaches, this paper developed an evaluation model of teaching and learning, which comprises three main conceptual blocks: teaching, learning and learning assistance. A quantitative survey was utilised, collecting data from the Student Assessment of Learning Gains (SALG) along with the Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) from 108 randomly selected courses at a university in Taiwan. The results demonstrated an R² value of 0.794. The route between teaching and learning was not statistically significant (t=0.0359), indicating that knowledge is constructed in the mind of the student with learning assistance as the mediator.

This study aims to explore the use of video in English language teaching (ELT) elementary school (grades 8 to 9)... In addition, the thesis aims to find out how videos in English lessons helped to achieve the goals of English curriculum. The main hypothesis was that teaching with video would develop pupils’ communicative skills and, therefore, was appropriate for the communicative approach to ELT. The study addressed five research questions regarding the use of videos in English lessons in the case study school: why the teachers used videos in ELT, what kinds of videos were used in English lessons, how and how often videos were used, what was taught and learned through the use of videos and, finally, what the teachers’ and pupils’ attitudes to lessons with videos were. The research was performed as a case study at an Elbasan elementary school. The data for the research was obtained through the use of mixed methods: qualitative, in the form of interviews with four English teachers and observations of three of the interviewed teachers’ lessons with videos, and quantitative, in the form of a pupil questionnaire answered by 105 pupils from two 8th grade and two 9th grade classes.
