The article is devoted to current problems of linguistic science - the study of mechanisms for implementing the manipulative function of a political text, which involves the study of features and potential of the means of expression and its effective impact on the mass consciousness. The study of political text as a complex and multi-vector phenomenon makes it possible to identify effective means of communicative influence on recipients, which is an important factor in the development of communication technologies and increase the manipulative function of political speeches. Today, the political text is the object of close attention and study of many scholars in various fields of knowledge, such as political science, economics, psychology, linguistics, as political communicative behavior is characterized by a set of language and speech means, including language units of expression. The expressiveness of a political text is an important semantic category that every experienced politician takes into account. Therefore, today there is a growing interest in the study of the communicative aspect of language, in the problems of interpretation of expressive, word-forming and syntactic means in the translated text. In the field of translation studies, the direction of modern linguistics is presented as a study of mechanisms for reproducing the potential of the means of expression in the original language by appropriate means in translation, which requires a comprehensive study of political texts in combination of semantic, expressive and pragmatic levels. There is a need to clarify both general theoretical knowledges and to study practical views on the reproduction of the communicative and pragmatic aspects of the political text functioning in the language of translation. Perfect and complete political texts translation in various genres, taking into account linguistic and cultural peculiarities, requires from the translator not only a high level of language proficiency, but also deep background knowledge, including information about the country of the native speaker. It is noted that the transfer of means of expression in the Ukrainian language is carried out with the involvement of various stylistic, lexical and grammatical transformations.

The article considers the theoretical issues of teaching speech on the basis of the text and tried to reveal the possibilities of practical application of this technique. As a result, it is emphasized that this way of learning oral speech (both dialogic and monologue) has a number of advantages. The use of text makes it possible to make the learning process interesting and increases motivation. At the same time, to get good results, work on the text must be well organized. Close attention should be paid to the selection of texts taking into account the age and individual characteristics of students. Adherence to these requirements allows to overcome the shortcomings of the system of exercises presented in the textbook. When organizing work at the senior stage, students should be given the opportunity to show their individuality in the process of performing creative tasks. Our proposed set of tasks makes it possible to meet the requirements for the level of development of oral skills at the senior stage. However, as we have already found out, the benefits of including creatively oriented speaking tasks are difficult to overestimate, because students not only learn new lexical material and develop phonetic skills, but they also «immerse» in the language environment, which allows students to learn a foreign language in more depth. Thanks to such tasks, a favorable psychological climate is created in the classroom, the psychological load is reduced, and emotional tone is increased. As practice has shown, the task of teaching speech is one of the most effective means of improving the level of language proficiency of students in almost all aspects. As for the development of attention in adolescence, the amount of attention, the ability to maintain its intensity for a long time and move from one subject to another are at a given age at a very high level of development. However, the attention becomes selective, significantly dependent on the direction of interests. Another feature of the development of the cognitive sphere in adolescence is that the mental growth of high school students is not so much in the accumulation of skills and changes in certain properties of intelligence, as in the formation of individual style of mental activity. The style of thinking is largely determined by the type of nervous system, as well as the student's ability to balance their individuality with the objective, external conditions of activity. All that has been said above indicates the need for an individual approach to learning that stimulates the independence and creativity of students. The article considers the problem of updating the linguistic and regional realities in the process of studying a foreign language in an inseparable connection with the study of regional characteristics determined by the national worldview, social and cultural structure. Modern methodological research is based on the linguistic and cultural approach in teaching a foreign language. At the same time, vocabulary with a regional component, regional geographic information that affects the most diverse aspects of the life of the country of the target language, its history, literature, science, art, as well as traditions, customs and customs are distinguished. The linguistic and cultural aspect contributes to the enrichment of the subject-content plan, therefore the authors focus on achieving high-quality results in teaching a foreign language, using the methods of real access to a different culture and its carriers. Аnalysis of linguistic material with high regional and communicative value, significance for the process of teaching a foreign language. Since the main goal of teaching a foreign language is the development of the student's personality in inseparable connection with the teaching of the culture of the country of the target language, contributing to the desire to participate in intercultural communication and to improve independently in the activity being mastered, to use in the learning process the material on the basis of which knowledge about realities, morals, customs is formed, the traditions of the country of the studied language, knowledge and skills of communicative behavior in acts of verbal communication, skills and abilities of verbal and non-verbal behavior, which is included in the content of the national culture. The study used a descriptive method, analysis and synthesis methods. Linguistic and cultural competence of students, the effectiveness of its formation depends on the level of language proficiency. In the educational process, an important element is the activation of the introduction of linguistic and regional realities, since while studying a foreign language, the student gets acquainted with the worldview of a native speaker, which underlies the language code of this language. The authors emphasize that linguistic and regional materials help students to understand the values of the culture of the country of the target language, to develope intercultural competences in the study of a foreign language. The formation of a country- oriented methodology for teaching a foreign language, involving increased attention to the national-cultural semantics of the studied vocabulary and the study of linguistic and cultural texts, provides language acquisition in close connection with a foreign language culture, which includes a variety of cognitive information about history, literature, architecture, life, image life and traditions of the country of the target language.

The article outlines the principles and methods of presentation of educational material, content features and prospects for using such a resource as an electronic textbook in the practice of teaching foreigners focused on obtaining higher education in Siberian universities. The publication demonstrates the advantages of an electronic textbook that combines the academism of traditional (habitual) ways of organizing content with the efficiency and accessibility of modern information and communication technologies, since the latest methods of presenting material significantly expand the didactic potential of an electronic textbook, making it an effective means of forming the communicative competence of students. The article contains descriptions of the specifics of the materials that formed the basis of the electronic manual, examples of texts and assignments that form individual competencies and the first certification level of language proficiency in general, as well as indications of the prospects for using such educational resources in teaching practice. Despite the fact that the presented manual is aimed at foreigners studying at a specific Tyumen university, the resource can be useful for teachers of RFL in other cities and even abroad, since it introduces the realities of life in Russia from the angle of intercultural dialogue and the idea of comfortable language adaptation using computer technologies.

This article describes a crucial and fundamental stage in the transformation of Hebrew children's literature, during the late 1930s and 1940s, from a single channel of expression to a multi-layered polyphony of models and voices. It claims that for the first time in the history of Hebrew children's literature there took place a doctrinal confrontation between two groups of taste-makers. The article outlines the pedagogical and ideological designs of traditionalist Zionist educators, and suggests how these were challenged by a group of prominent writers of adult poetry, members of the Modernist movement. These writers, it is argued, advocated autonomous literary creation, and insisted on a high level of literary quality. Their intervention not only dramatically changed the repertoire of Hebrew children's literature, but also the rules of literary discourse. The article suggests that, through the Modernists’ polemical efforts, Hebrew children's literature was able to free itself from its position as an apparatus controlled by the political-educational system and to become a dynamic and multi-layered field.

The Nihongo Partner Program or “Japanese Language Partner” is a program that sends native speakers to support the teaching and learning of Japanese overseas. The program is fully sponsored by The Japan Foundation. The aim of this program is to create an environment that motivates the students to learn Japanese. This study is based on a survey of the Nihongo Partner Program conducted on students and language lecturers at UiTM, Shah Alam. This study aims to investigate if there is a necessity for native speakers to be involved in the teaching and learning of Japanese among foreign language learners. Analysis of the results showed that both students and lecturers are in dire need of the Nihongo Partner Program to navigate the learning of the Japanese language through a variety of language learning activities. The involvement of native speaker increases students’ confidence and motivation to converse in Japanese. The program also provides opportunities for students to increase their Japanese language proficiency and lexical density. In addition, with the opportunity to interact with the native speakers, students and lecturers will have a better understanding of Japanese culture as they are able to observe and ask the native speakers. Involvement of native speakers is essential in teaching and learning of Japanese in UiTM.

The article examines the issue of how, under the conditions of growing nationalism in the Socialist Republic of Croatia in the late 1960s, Miloš Žanko, one of the Croatian leaders, bravely opposed the political trends, which threatened both the region and his country. In the newspapers and magazines, at the Party congresses, he entered into harsh polemics with Croatian nationalists, who were exposing their insidious schemes and defending the idea of brotherhood and unity. However, Žanko did not anticipate how deeply nationalist ideology was rooted and how strong it was in Croatia, at what a high level of the establishment this ideology was supported, and what price the person who was daring to oppose it would have to pay.

The article analyzes the features of the current youth policy of the Russian Federation aimed at raising the political culture. Despite the current activities of the government institutions in the field under study, absenteeism, as well as the protest potential of the young people, remains at a fairly high level. In this regard, the government acknowledged the importance of forming a positive image of the state power in the eyes of young people and strengthen its influence in the sphere of forming loyal associations, which is not always positively perceived among the youth. The work focuses on the fact that raising the loyalty of youth organizations is one of the factors of political stability, both in case of internal turbulence and external influence. The authors also focus on the beneficiaries of youth protests. The authors paid special attention to the issue of forming political leadership among the youth and the absence of leaders expressing the opinions of young people in modern Russian politics. At the same time, youth protest as a social phenomenon lack class and in some cases ideological differences. The authors come to the conclusion that despite the steps taken by the government and political parties to involve Russian youth in the political agenda, the young people reject leaders of youth opinion imposed by the authorities, either cultivating nonparticipation in the electoral campagines or demonstrating latent protest voting.

Sooner than expected, roads will be populated with a plethora of connected and autonomous vehicles serving diverse mobility needs. Rather than being stand-alone, vehicles will be required to cooperate and coordinate with each other, referred to as cooperative driving executing the mobility tasks properly. Cooperative driving leverages Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I) communication technologies aiming to carry out cooperative functionalities: (i) cooperative sensing and (ii) cooperative maneuvering. To better equip the readers with background knowledge on the topic, we firstly provide the detailed taxonomy section describing the underlying concepts and various aspects of cooperation in cooperative driving. In this survey, we review the current solution approaches in cooperation for autonomous vehicles, based on various cooperative driving applications, i.e., smart car parking, lane change and merge, intersection management, and platooning. The role and functionality of such cooperation become more crucial in platooning use-cases, which is why we also focus on providing more details of platooning use-cases and focus on one of the challenges, electing a leader in high-level platooning. Following, we highlight a crucial range of research gaps and open challenges that need to be addressed before cooperative autonomous vehicles hit the roads. We believe that this survey will assist the researchers in better understanding vehicular cooperation, its various scenarios, solution approaches, and challenges.

So-called traditional theories in second langauge acquisition (SLA) have been criticized for their neglect to examine interactional, social, and political aspects in language practices. The present study will illustrate exoticization, one of the political phenomena observed in interactions between native-speaker and non-native speaker (NS/NNS). Exoticization is known as a covert power exercise where ‘self’ creates inferior ‘other’ in order to establish and maintain its superiority (Said 1978), which involves identity construction and categorization. Adopting a conversation analysis (CA) approach and utilizing NS-NNS conversations in Japanese, this study will first demonstrate how exoticization is discursively constructed through the development of interactions. Then the study will explore how the NNS participant tries to resist such practices. By so doing, this study will shed light on interactional and ideological aspects of language practices and society as a learning environment. The study will also suggest the necessity for exploring what NNSs face in real L2 societies in order to develop emic perspectives in SLA studies.

The murder of Valentin Tsvetkov, the governor of Magadan in central Moscow in broad day light in October 2002 highlights that organized crime and corruption are still alive and well and highly destructive of life and governance in Russia (Wines, 2002). His murder once again raises the question, “Why has Russia not been able to stop organized crime and high level corruption?” The answer is that Russia docs not have the political will at the national, regional or local level to fight these problems. This is true because the Kremlin and economic elite push their personal interests over those of the state and the society. Structural problems such as low salaries of state personnel and the embedding of organized crime and corruption make reform very difficult.
