This research has examined the effectiveness of education and environmental awareness of the local population in protecting Egyptian tortoises. The study aimed to obtain information about the relationship between the level of education, monthly income and its relationship to tortoise protection and the prevention of smuggling and illegal trade. The results were obtained through the preparation of a questionnaire that included 40 people from the local population. They were surveyed using the SPSS26 program. According to the results obtained by the research, significant differences were found in the environmental attitudes of the local population who did not have a chance to have a good education and their monthly income was very low. It could be said that the people who got a good opportunity for education and their economic situation is stable, this has a positive impact on their environmental behaviour. It is a problem worth thinking about whether the government’s environmental regulation policies can meet the residents’ requirements for environmental quality, and benefit the people. The study of the public’s subjective evaluation can more intuitively judge whether the government’s environmental regulation has realized “ecological benefits for the people”. Based on the data of the Chinese General Social Survey (CGSS) in 2013, this paper studied the impact of environmental regulation and environmental awareness on environmental governance satisfaction by an ordered probit model. The study found that environmental regulation has a significant positive impact on environmental governance satisfaction, while environmental awareness has a significant negative impact on environmental governance satisfaction. We also found that when public environmental awareness is taken into account, the positive relationship between environmental regulation and environmental governance satisfaction is affected. The robustness test proved this conclusion.

Social Citizenship is a concept that is used to represent acceptance and identity by the local community. This is a manifestation expressed in the form of space, monument or buildings. Buildings such as mosques and other religious buildings are a form of manifestation to such expression left for other generations to see and study. This manifestation of citizenship through religious buildings can be an expression of struggle, establishment, sense of belonging and local acceptance towards achieving social citizenship. The understanding of this concept implicitly shows that these elements are the driving forces behind the architecture that is erected in order to find approval from the local population. This paper reviews the employed research designs, methods and procedures in the process of understanding the translation of social citizenship to architecture expressed by mosques. The methods adopted were aimed toward obtaining archival/historical evidence that can elicit proof of the concept. The methods also involved the process of inquiry that would be the basis for discussion and to draw a conclusion to the relationship between social citizenship and architecture. This paper also highlights the strengths and limitations of the methodological techniques besides spelling out the variables needed to prove the relationship.

The paper describes the public participation from the viewpoint of a stakeholder and member of the public. The dialogue between various members of the Dounreay Stakeholders Committee vary widely and do not always seem to represent the views of the wider public. Whilst great care has been taken to select various options for the ultimate condition of the Dounreay site and these have been discussed at great length and the preferred option selected by consensus, there still appears to be some conflict within the local community. It is probable that if the local population had to vote on the options for the future of the Dounreay nuclear site the outcome would be vastly different from that of the Stakeholders Committee. Whilst the politicians have been elected by the people, they represent a distinctly anti-nuclear view (even to the extent of decommissioning) whereas many local people (especially the workers on the Dounreay site) would prefer to see a continuation of nuclear activity at Dounreay. The problem is not only with local politicians but at national level in Scotland itself where the Scottish National Party has formed a coalition with the Green Party on condition all nuclear activities are phased out.

Ecosystems are linked to neighbouring ecosystems not only by dispersal, but also by the movement of subsidy. Such subsidy couplings between ecosystems have important landscape-scale implications because perturbations in one ecosystem may affect community structure and functioning in neighbouring ecosystems via increased/decreased subsidies. Here, we combine a general theoretical approach based on harvesting theory and a two-patch protist meta-ecosystem experiment to test the effect of regional perturbations on local community dynamics. We first characterized the relationship between the perturbation regime and local population demography on detritus production using a mathematical model. We then experimentally simulated a perturbation gradient affecting connected ecosystems simultaneously, thus altering cross-ecosystem subsidy exchanges. We demonstrate that the perturbation regime can interact with local population dynamics to trigger unexpected temporal variations in subsidy pulses from one ecosystem to another. High perturbation intensity initially led to the highest level of subsidy flows; however, the level of perturbation interacted with population dynamics to generate a crash in subsidy exchange over time. Both theoretical and experimental results show that a perturbation regime interacting with local community dynamics can induce a collapse in population levels for recipient ecosystems. These results call for integrative management of human-altered landscapes that takes into account regional dynamics of both species and resource flows.

This study aims to determine the impact of the expansion of Pakuure Dua village on village infrastructure. The study was conducted from October to December 2017 Determination of the number of samples taken purposively (Purposive Sampling) The research method using descriptive analysis with informants of the local community along with village tools that will be presented in tabular form. The resulting data was analyzed using Likert scale. The result of the research concludes that the expansion of Pakuure Dua village has a positive impact on the acceleration of infrastructure development. This can be proved by the repair of roads in each aisle that used to be potholes built into asphalt road, concrete rebound road, hotmix asphalt road. The construction of the bridge between the hallway to the school and the field, the construction of the school building felt by the community is very good. With equitable road construction, ease of communication between community and government is also equitable, smooth communication and transportation activities also make a very good economic gain for the people of Pakuure Dua village.

Deli Medan River is one of the rivers used as a mode of transportation in the 1980s. The shift in water transportation to land causes the Deli Medan River not to get attention and tend to be ignored. This study aims to describe the perception of the people of Medan City on the Deli River Medan while at the same time looking for a correlation between each variable. This study involved 365 respondents divided from various urban villages in the Medan City area (136 men and 232 girls). The selected respondents are aged 9-60 years with a vulnerable elementary school to a college education. Spearman correlation analysis is used to see the relationship between variables. The results of the study inform that there is no relationship between pollution and siltation that occurs in the Deli River Medan, different results are shown between the changing of river transportation modes to land caused by river silting, the level of education and awareness in disposing of waste, as well as pollution that occurs and industries that dispose of waste. Wastewater in the Medan Deli River body (Sig. <0.05). Furthermore, the Deli Medan River has been polluting by waste and wastewater.

Formulating a contemporary democratic culture in South Sulawesi. To help explain and answer relationship with the democratic culture used the theory ofDemocracy, Political Culture and Structuration. The review of this paper shows that [i] Instrumentsand cultural interaction of democracy that exists in Sulawesi Selatan, Wajo Eclectic is aform of government, a special selection mechanism that leaders and representatives tiered, based on the relationship of the people and leaders of law as well as agreements made together.Furthermore, the interaction between these instruments indicate if the form of government, election mechanism as well as representatives and leaders of government’s relationshipwith its people have significance to the structure [political institution], not the actor or elitewith ties to the past. [ii] Based on these conditions, the formulation of political culture in theera of political reform [contemporary era] in Sulawesi Selatan is characterized by [a] Thestrong primordial and paternalism and, [b] Culture conflictual still strong, do not show thecultural values inherited from the previous., Based on this argument appears that the structureremain more influential actor who should have the value of integrity and independence.
