Based on the role of the frame of reference under the influence of point-of-view culture in the British and Vietnamese ethnic groups used as a cognitive premise in the translation, the article presents the justification of the contracting process about the reasons, similarities and differences as well as the semantic differences of the locating preposition “at, in, on” in English with the corresponding linguistic units in Vietnamese through specific communication contexts. Research results show that if the reference object (DTQC) in the positioning reference system of the English preposition is assimilated with the speaker in Vietnamese [similar to the reference frame in the reference system] then, the translation semantics of the preposition “at, in, on” will be similar to the expression semantics of the corresponding units in Vietnamese. In contrast, the different structural semantics are manifested because there is no similarity in the frame of reference.

Specifically, we sought to characterize the models of lectures of Geography; characterize the lecture of Geography developed by high school teachers; analyze how the teacher uses the language in lectures of Geography and finally discuss a proposed didactic sequence that promotes interactivity in geography class. This is a qualitative study. From the theoretical and conceptual point of view, the study was developed based on the following principles: first, considers the reflections on the lecture, both in traditional perspective as the dialogical perspective. Second, the class focuses on teaching practice in geography. And thirdly, it emphasizes the role of language for the improvement of Geography class. From this frame of reference, the text is structured in seven sections, comprising the Introduction, methodological paths and three theoretical sections, one of analysis and one propositive. In this paper, a number of recently proposed implicit and explicit composite time integration schemes are reviewed and critically evaluated. To give suitable guidelines of using them in practical transient analyses of structural problems, numerical performances of these schemes are compared through illustrative examples. Meaningful insights into computational aspects of the composite schemes are also provided. In the discussion, the role of the splitting ratio of the recent composite schemes is also investigated through a different point of view, and similarities and differences of various composite schemes are also studied. It is shown that the explicit composite scheme proposed recently by the authors can noticeably increase the efficiency and the accuracy of linear and nonlinear transient analyses when compared with other well-known composite schemes.

Abstract The Unfair Contract Terms Directive (UCTD) and the Common Law doctrine of unconscionability in the United States both pursue the same aim: they seek to protect consumers against abuse of power by traders who are in a position to exploit the asymmetry of the contracting process. However, both sets of rules rest on different premises. In particular, they allocate trust differently between courts and markets. This accounts for deep-running differences despite apparent similarities. This contribution analyses these similarities and differences by commenting on the unconscionability doctrine as expressed in the Draft Restatement of consumer contracts from a European point of view.

There is presented the analysis of studies covering issues relating to the term “mentality”, its role in the cultural and philosophical identity formation. There were compared the following concepts: “mentality” vs “mindset” and “mentality” vs “ethnic identity”, those are close in their meanings but are not the same in their pragmatics. Discussion and Conclusions. Ethno mentality is fixed materially in art through the incorporation of ethnic values. The study of the mentality from the philosophical point of view provides opportunities for research introducing conceptual elements and solving complex issues. Keywords: a mentality, a culture, an ethnos, a nation, a tradition, philosophical interpretation.

Annotation: The relevance of this study is due to its connection with the modern direction of language learning - cognitive linguistics, which makes it possible to identify the specifics of the representation of human knowledge, including evaluative ones, in the semantics of linguistic units. The prospect of the cognitive approach in studying the processes of evaluative conceptualization and evaluative categorization is explained by the fact that it makes it possible to assess the role of a person in the perception and evaluation of the surrounding reality and the formation of evaluative values, taking into account the interaction of cognitive and linguistic factors. Accordingly, the evaluative categories "good" and "bad" in this study are considered from the point of view of the mental processes of evaluative conceptualization and evaluative categorization and their refraction in linguistic meanings. Keywords: concept, language, linguacultural study, linguacultural concept "bad", linguacultural concept "good", linguistic materialization of a concept, linguacultural research.

Abstract When we interact with other people or avatars, they often provide an alternative spatial frame of reference compared to our own. Previous studies introduced avatars into stimulus–response compatibility tasks and demonstrated compatibility effects as if the participant was viewing the task from the avatar’s point of view. However, the origin of this effect of perspective taking remained unclear. To distinguish changes in stimulus coding from changes in response coding, caused by the avatar, two experiments were conducted that combined a SNARC task and a spontaneous visual perspective taking task to specify the role of response coding. We observed compatibility effects that were based on the avatar’s perspective rather than the participants’ own. Because number magnitude was independent of the avatar’s perspective, the observed changes in compatibility caused by different perspectives indicate changes in response coding. These changes in response coding are only significant when they are accompanied by visual action effects.

This article examines the narrative category point of view: it introduces theoretical remarks that reveal and clarify this concept in the framework of the modern theory of narrative, as well as an analysis of this category in Lena Eltang’s novel “Stone Maples”. In narratology, the point of view is one of the leading categories; it is synonymous with the concepts of “focalization”, “perspective” and “narrative modality” and is directly related to the narrator of the work. This article discusses various approaches to the interpretation of the concept of point of view, discusses the similarities and differences, different theoretical approaches to the terms “perspective”, “focalization”, “narrative modality.” An analysis of the theoretical works devoted to this problem also makes it possible to conclude that one of the leading roles in the construction of a narrative is given to the narrator. In L. Eltang’s novel “Stone Maples”, many different points of view (respectively, several narrators) are encountered: several subjects of speech and several different narrative lines are presented in the text. The main narrative and style principles, as well as the features of the narrative organization of the novel “Stone Maples” were examined. Integrated research methods allowed us to determine that in L. Eltang’s novel “Stone Maples” there are many different points of view: several subjects of speech and several different narrative lines are presented in the text; the communicative basis of the narrative work, the “mosaic” narrative, multilevel author puzzles and the detective story base of the novel activate the role of the reader of “Stone Maples”, who is given the function of one of the narrators of the work. The article emphasizes that a biased, false narrative is formed in the novel, destroying the principles of classical narration.

It has been almost universally adopted that dissolution of solids proceeds with development of uniform, continuous frontiers of reaction. However this point of view is doubtful / 1 /. E.g. we have proved the active role of the block (grain) boundaries in the main phases of cement, these boundaries being the areas of hydrate phases' nucleation / 2 /. It has brought to the supposition that the dissolution frontier of cement particles in water is discrete. It seems also probable that the dissolution proceeds through the channels, which serve both for the liquid phase movement and for the drainage of the incongruant solution products. These channels can be appeared along the block boundaries. In order to demonsrate it, we have offered the method of phase-contrast impregnation of the hardened cement paste with the solution of methyl metacrylahe and benzoyl peroxide. The viscosity of this solution is equal to that of water.

The article written by the well-known theorists and historians of economic thought contains a detailed overview of the Cambridge capital controversy, which had raged from the mid-1950-s through the mid-1970-s. The authors track the origins of the controversy and cover arguments of both sides in chronological order. From their point of view, the discussion hasnt been resolved, and its main underlying aspects were ideological beliefs and fundamental methodological controversies on the nature of equilibrium and on the role of time in economic theory. The article is published with comments written by other leading theoreticians.
