ABSTRACT Vegetable waste can be an alternative in the supply of animal feed because it has a relatively good nutritional content but the condition is easy to rot, so needs processing through technology in the form of wafers to optimize the utilization of vegetable waste. This study aims to determine the effect of different storage times on fiber fractions and is expected to provide information on how to make wafer feed for ruminant.This research was conducted in April to June 2019 at the Laboratory of Agriculture at the University of Muhammadiyah Bengkulu and continued by Van Soest analysts at the Bogor Institute of Agriculture Laboratory (IPB). The method used in this study is a Completely Randomized Design with A (control), B (stored for 1 week), C (stored for 2 weeks), D (stored for 3 weeks). The parameters observed were hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin.The results showed that the treatment was significantly different for the content of hemicellulose and lignin but not significantly for the cellulose content. The conclusion in this study is that the storage time of wafers for 21 days can reduce the content of hemicellulose and lignin, but can not reduce the content of cellulose. Keywords: Vegetable Waste, Wafers, Hemicellulose, Cellulose and Lignin.

Duck meat is a perishable food that has a short shelf-life. Therefore, packaging is needed to be used tomaintain duck meat quality during storage, one of the ways to extend shelf-life of duck meat is usingpropolis extract as edible coating which is contained antioxidant substances which can be used to extendduring storage. The aim of this research was to analyze the effect of propolis extract as an edible coatingmaterial on duck meat to maintain the quality and extend shelf-life of duck meat at room temperature.The research was used a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial 4x3 with 3 replications,consisting of 4 propolis concentrations (0.0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%) and 3 storage times (0 hours, 6 hoursand 24 hours). Duck meats coated with propolis extracts had a significant effect on the water content andantioxidant activity of duck meat (P < 0.05). The storage time had a significant effect on the pH valueand the cooking loss of duck meat (P <0.05). The addition of propolis extract and storage time had asignificant effect on the pH value, cooking loss and antioxidant activity of duck meat (P <0.05).

ABSTRACT Adverse weather conditions, or mechanical problems and decrease in the application rate, may increase the storage time of the spray solution in the sprayer tank. This study aimed to assess the effect of the phytosanitary spray solution storage on the germination of Beauveria bassiana conidia, with or without agricultural adjuvants. A completely randomized design was used, in a 13 x 5 factorial scheme, consisting of thirteen storage times (0, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44 and 48 h) and five compositions for the spray solution (B. bassiana, B. bassiana + Helper Neutrum, B. bassiana + TA-35, B. bassiana + Nimbus and B. bassiana + Orobor). The biological spray solution containing B. bassiana conidia and no adjuvants remained viable for use after preparation and the conidial germination decreased 9.2 times after 48 h when an adjuvant was added.

<p><span><em>The aim of the research was to determine the advantage of tumeric flour (Curcuma domestica Val) </em><span><em>and ginger flour (Zingiber officinale) addition on quality of culled duck meatball in different storage times. </em><span><em>The materials were thigh duck, tumeric flour and ginger flour. The design used in experiment was a </em><span><em>Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with factorial pattern 4x3 as the first factor was concentration of </em><span><em>turmeric flour (0; 0.5; 1.0; 1.5%) and ginger flour (0; 1; 2; 3%) and the second one was storage time (0; 8; </em><span><em>16 hours). The result of the research showed that storage time affected (P&lt;0.05) pH, tenderness and waterholding capacity. Concentration of tumeric flour and ginger flour affected tenderness.There was no </em><span><em>interaction between those two factors on pH, water-holding capacity, tenderness,and total proteolitic </em><span><em>bacteria. Concentration of turmeric flour 0,5% and ginger flour 1% with storage time during 0 hours gave </em><span><em>the best result, with a pH value 6.49, tenderness 0.31, water-holding capacity 22.27, and a total proteolytic </em><span><em>bacteria , 3.57x10</em><span><em>4</em><span><em>. This research is about effectivity analysis of two kinds of fungi i.e. Beauveria bassiana and Metharrizium anisopliae as Aedes aegyptilarvacide, it has been conducted at laboratories Zoology in Biology Department, Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty, Syiah KualaUniversity. Aims of this research were estimating maximum time storage of fungi powder as effective larvacide and the number of bacteriacolonies were found in water used for experiment. This research was used Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The experiments consistof two factors i.e kind and saving time of fungi. The result show that the longer the storage time of Beauveria bassiana the more ineffectiveit was as larvacide and the least fungi colonies were found. Metharrizium anisopliae on the other hand, the longer it was kept, the moreeffective it was as larvacide and the more fungi colonies were found.

Animal feed should ideally be inexpensive and not competing with humans. Ampas know is a waste of the manufacture of tofu that contains protein and high energy. Its use has problems due to the existence of antinutrient and cannot be kept long. Lactobacillus Plantarum is a lactic acid (Gram-positive) bacteria used in the fermentation process to improve the quality of feed. The goal of fermentation is to remove the anti-nutrients that exist in the tofu pulp and increase the content of Isoflavone (Daidzin, Glycitein, and Genistein) and Isoflavone is a source of antioxidants important to growth. The study uses a Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatment of microbial culture concentrations of 1%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% (V/w), respectively repeated 3 times. The result of analyzes in the pulp of tofu fermentation suggests that fermentation by Lactobacillus Plantarum can increase the content of Daidzein, Glycitein, and genistein with the highest value resulting from the use of L. Plantarum 20% respectively 191.21 + 24.9 μg/g, 85.96 μg/g, and 120.82 μg/g. It can be concluded that the higher the use of the concentration of L. Plantarum in tofu pulp can increase the levels of isoflavone, so it is advisable to conduct research with the concentration of L. Plantarum higher in tofu pulp

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the digestibility of dry matter and organic matter level waste silage mixed vegetables and Gliricidia leaves were tested in vitro. This study used a completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 3 replications. Each of these treatments is R0 (Gliricidia leaves 100%), R1 (Gliricidia leaves 70% + 30% silage vegetable waste), and R2 (Gliricidia leaves 40% + 60% silage vegetable waste). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further testing using the test Honestly Significant Difference (HSD). The results of ANOVA showed that the mixture of vegetable waste silage was highly significant (p <0.05) on dry matter digestibility and significantly (p <0.05) on the digestibility of organic matter. It can be concluded that the mixed of vegetable waste silage and Gliricidia leaves can improved digestibility of dry matter and organic matter, treatment of 40% and 60% Gliricidia leaves plus waste vegetable produce silage dry matter digestibility and percentage of organic matter is best (72,24% and 68,19%).Keyword: Silage vegetable waste, gliricidia leaves, dry and organic matter digestibilityABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kecenaan bahan kering dan bahan organik tingkat campuran silase sampah sayur dan daun gamal yang diuji secara in vitro. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 3 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Masing-masing perlakuan tersebut ialah R0 (daun gamal 100%), R1 (daun gamal 70% + silase sampah sayur 30%), dan R2 (daun gamal 40% + silase sampah sayur 60%). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA) dan uji lanjut menggunakan uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ). Hasil analisis sidik ragam menunjukkan bahwa campuran silase sampah sayur berpengaruh sangat nyata (p<0,05) terhadap kecernaan bahan kering dan berpengaruh nyata (p<0,05) terhadap kecernaan bahan organik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlakuan campuran silase sampah sayur dan daun gamal dapat meningkatkan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik, perlakuan 40% daun gamal dan 60% silase sampah sayur menghasilkan persentase kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik yang terbaik yaitu (72,24% dan 68,19%).Kata kunci : Silase sampah sayur, daun gamal, kecernaan bahan kering, dan bahan organik.

Aims: Evaluate four potato genotypes in terms of sprouting and coloring depending on the storage time at 8 °C and their potential for use by the potato processing industry.Study Design: The experiment was carried out in a completely randomized design, in a split-plot scheme with five replications, each replication consisting of two tubers.Place and Duration of Study: Tubers were obtained from the production area of Perdizes, Minas Gerais, Brazil (Latitude 19º 21’ 10’’ N and Longitude 47º 17’ 34’’ E and 1000 m).Methodology: The genotypes Alibaba, Arsenal, Antartica and Babylon were stored at 8° C for up to 180 days, with the analysis of sprouting, visual coloration before and after frying, parameters L*, b* and c*. Results: All potato genotypes were light colored before frying, category 1 (USDA). Babylon obtained the best parameters of b * and c *. Antartica and Babylon potato genotype showed low sprouting.Conclusion: The Arsenal and Antartica potato genotype have potential for use by the processing industry due to the color of the sticks before and after frying and low sprouting.The Alibaba potato genotype was darkly colored after frying. Babylon was the potato genotype with the best color of the sticks after frying and less germination.

This study was conducted to determine the temperature and storage time of the exact vitamin C content of red and white dragon fruit and the difference of vitamin C. The samples were taken from the plantation land in Ubud Andong Highway, Petulu, Gianyar Regency. Treated for 10 and 30 days with 2, 10, 20 and 300C temperature treatment with five repetitions using Completely Randomized Design Factorial pattern. Data obtained statistically using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). The highest vitamin C content in red dragon fruit is 29.61 mg/ 100g temperature 100C for 10 days and the lowest is in 30 days storage with temperature 300C that is equal to 22,09 mg/ 100g. While the white dragon fruit content of vitamin C highest contained in storage with a temperature of 20C is 22.69 mg/ 100g with maximum storage of 10 days and the lowest at a temperature of 300C is 17.37 mg/ 100g.

The aim of this research was to study the effects of supplementation different legumes on the physical quality of biscuit complete ration based on hymenacne acutigluma. This study was conducted in Animal Feed and Nutrition Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University. This study was done in 2 months. A completely randomized design with four treatments and four replicates was used in this study. Each treatments were P0= 70% kumpai grass + 30% concentrate + 0% legume, P1= 55% kumpai grass + 7.5% lamtoro leaves + 7.5% water mimmosa + 30% concentrate, P2= 55% kumpai grass + 7.5% acacia leaves + 30% concentrate, and P3= 55% kumpai grass + 5% lamtoro leaves + 5% acacia leaves + 5 % water mimmosa + 30% concentrate. Variables measured were water content, density, average collision endurance, specific gravity and water absorption. The result indicated that The adding of different legumes in the ration significantly (P<0.05) affected the specific gravity and water absorption, but no significant effect on density, average collision endurance. Duncan Multirange Range Test showed that treatment of control (P0) had the highest of water absorption (264.56%). The highest content of water gravity was obtained in the treatment of adding lamtoro, acacia and water mimmosa (P3), namely 0.9 g/ml water gravity. The conclusion of this study is the addition of different legumes in kumpai grass-based diets can improve the physical quality of the complete ration biscuit. The addition of lamtoro leaves, water mimosa and acacia at the level of 5%, gave the best result in specific gravity and water absorption.

THE EFFECT OF WHITE TURMERIC (Curcuma mangga Val.) ADDITION ON CHICKEN MEAT AGAINST WATER CONTENT, pH AND MICROORGANISM NUMBERS. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the addition of white turmeric (Curcuma manggaVal.) on chicken meat at cold storage (4oC). This research used Split Plot Design with 2 treatment factors based on completely randomized design. The Main Plot contains of 4 treatments (A0 = without storage, A1 = 3 days storage, A2 = 6 days storage, A3 = 9 days storage) and the Sub Plot contains of 4 treatments (B0 = without white turmeric, B1 = 4% grating of white turmeric, B2 = 8% grating of white turmeric, B3 = 12% grating of white turmeric). The variable that observed are water content, pH and microorganism number. The result showed that the addition of white turmeric was not significant affected (P > 0.05) against water contentof chicken meat, however it was highly significant affected (P < 0.01) against pH and microorganism numbers of chicken meat. Storage time was highly significant affected (P <0.01) against water content, pH and microorganism numbers of chicken meat. The interaction between both of treatment factors was given highly significant affected (P < 0.01) against water content, pH and microorganism numbers of chicken meat. As a conclusion, the addition of white turmeric on chicken meat was not affected against water content, however it can decrease pH and obstruct microorganism activity.
