Charactered Education in Learning Indonesian Language in the High School: Case Study in SMAN 1 Surakarta, Indonesia

Character education is the focus of Indonesian education nowadays as people in Indonesia is experiencing a negative character shifting. In order to change negative character, character education should be taught to the young generation through the integration of the character education at school. This study aims to determine the ways of integrating the value of character education in the lesson plan and the process of Indonesian language learning in the high school. This study employed a case study method by implementing a qualitative approach. This research was carried out in State Senior High School (SMAN) 1 Surakarta, Indonesia. The technique of data collection comprised of observation, interviews, and documentation. The result of this study shows that SMAN 1 Surakarta infuses character education in Indonesian language learning. The character values, which are integrated to the lesson plan, are respect, discipline, care, courage, responsibility, justice, honesty, helping each other, and cooperation. In the learning process, the character values that are infused to the lesson plan had been successfully integrated except for three values, namely justice, helping each other, and cooperation. Those three values should be integrated during group discussion activities, unfortunately, group discussion activities were not carried out.

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan sistem dakwah Pondok Pesantren At-Tawazun ditinjau melalui sistem terbuka mulai dari tahap input, conversion, output, feedback, hingga environment dalam upaya mengatasi problematika santri yang dipengaruhi oleh perkembangan zaman. Penelitian yang dilakukan ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan spesifikasi penelitian field research (penelitian lapangan). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan pondok pesantren At-Tawazun dirasakan cukup besar manfaatnya oleh orang tua maupun masyarakat. Lembaga dakwah dan pendidikan ini telah ikut berkontribusi dalam menanggulangi masalah sosial dan kenakalan remaja yang semakin rumit, sehingga mampu memberikan lulusan santri yang brakhlak, berbudi luhur dan mampu mengamalkan ilmunya di masyarakat. Lebih dari itu, kehadiran pondok pesantren At-Tawazun diharapkan dapat mengatasi akulturasi budaya yang menyimpang di era sekarang ini. Sehingga semangat generasi muda kita dapat disalurkan terhadak hal-hal positif, untuk kemajuan Agama dan Negara. This paper aims to describe the da’wah system of At-Tawazun Islamic Boarding School through an open system starting from the input, conversion, output, feedback, and environment stages in an effort to overcome the problems of santri that are influenced by the times. This research uses case study method with qualitative approach and field research specification (field research). The results of this study indicate that the existence of the At-Tawazun Islamic Boarding Scool was felt to be of considerable benefit by parent and community. This da’wah and education institution has contributed to tackling social problems and juvenile delinquency that are increasingly complicated, so as to be able to provide graduates who are morally, virtous and able to practice their knowledge in the community, moreover, the presence of the At-Tawazun Islamic Boarding School is expected to overcome the deviant cultural acculturation in the present era. So that the spirit of our young generation can be channeled suddenly to positive things, for the advancement of Religion and the state.

The Right

Amil zaka in zaka institutions has the right as one of eight ashnaf. Their rights are usually used by zaka institutions as operational cost. However, not all of the intitutions which manage zaka take amil’s right, one of them is Yayasan Nurul Hayat. This institution does not take amil’s right and it is independent in its operational cost. To support this operational cost, Yayasan Nurul Hayat establish business unit with utilize its profit.This study aimed to discover the capability of business unit in supporting operational cost of Yayasan Nurul Hayat. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive case study method. The selections of informant are using purposive sampling method. Data collection was conducted by semi-structured interviews and documentation. This data is analyzed using descriptive method.The result of this study shows that Yayasan Nurul Hayat Employments’ Salary is taken from business unit’s profit. It is also used to give bonus for employments and grow the business unit of Yayasan Nurul Hayat up. From the result of this study, it can be concluded that the business unit which is developed has great capability to support operational cost of Yayasan Nurul Hayat.

This research explains the internalization of multicultural values in the learning process of PAI at Senior high school Darut Taqwa Sengonagung Purwosari Pasuruan. This Research uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study. The data collection was through by unstructured and opened interview techniques, unattended and opened observation, and documentation techniques. For analysis and interpretation of data using steps: a). Reduction data, b). Displaying data, and c). Conclusion drawing / verification. The results of the research shows that the internalization of multicultural values in the learning process of PAI through two ways, namely through the material and using methods that reflect multicultural values.

Giving stimulus from educators in the form of giving appreciation and punishment will greatly affect the way of thinking and behavior of students in achieving the goals of character education that have been set. This study aims to describe the implementation of reward and punishment in shaping the character of students' discipline. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study. Methods of data collection using interviews, observation and documentation. The validity of the data used source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of this study indicate: (1) The implementation of rewards in shaping the discipline character of students is done by giving rewards in the form of praise and giving appreciation in the form of gifts. (2) The implementation of punishment in shaping the disciplinary character of students is carried out by giving gradual warnings, giving spontaneous warnings and written warning letters. (3) Evaluation of the implementation of rewards and punishments in shaping the character of students' discipline is using process evaluation, which is an assessment carried out during the learning process by observing the attitudes of students everyday when they are in the madrasa environment.. Keywords: Reward; Punishment; Discipline; Learners Pemberian stimulus dari pendidik berupa pemberian apresiasi dan hukuman akan sangat mempengaruhi cara berpikir dan tingkah laku peserta didik dalam mencapai tujuan pendidikan karakter yang sudah ditetapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi reward dan punishment dalam membentuk karakter disiplin peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi tehnik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: (1) Implementasi reward dalam membentuk karakter kedisiplinan peserta didik dilakukan dengan memberikan reward dalam bentuk pujian serta memberikan apresiasi dalam bentuk hadiah. (2) Implementasi punishment dalam membentuk karakter kedisiplinan peserta didik dilakukan dengan cara memberi peringatan secara bertahap, memberi teguran spontan dan surat peringatan tertulis. (3) Evaluasi implementasi reward dan punishment dalam membentuk karakter kedisiplinan peserta didik adalah menggunakan evaluasi proses, yaitu penilaian yang dilakukan di saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung dengan mengamati dari sikap peserta didik sehari-hari ketika berada di lingkungan madrasah. This study aims to determine the impact of learning from home (BDR) in career planning for class XI MA NW Samawa students class XI MA NW Samawa and to find out the factores that influence the understanding of career planning during the BDR period. This research approach uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The population in this study were students. .data collection techniques using observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of research on class XI students at the MA NW Samawa school, the results showed that the implementation of learning from home (BDR) had an impact on career planning for students in class XI MA NW Samawa. .it means that students experience obstacles in planning intensive career planning. Students lack information related to career planning, lack of understanding of students to know themselves, students' unpreparedness in planning their careers. .it means that students have not been able to plan their future careers, students have not understood the steps in career planning which include: recognizing talents, paying attention to interests, paying attention to values, paying attention to personality, and understanding their potential. .This study has proven that the implementation of learning from home (BDR) has an impact on career planning for class XI students at MA NW Samawa.

This research was concerned about the development of religious awareness based on adult education for corruption inmates in Pesantren Al - Hidayah. The main objective is to describe development of religious awareness process-based adult education for corruption inmates in Pesantren Al – Hidayah. The literature review of the research comprised: religious awareness, adult education, penitentiary. This research was conducted through descriptive research and case study method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used through observation, interview and documentation. The purpose of this study is to analyze and evaluate the implementation of standard operational procedures (SOPs) in nutrition unit of X hospital in Surabaya after the change of management. The scope of the study is the implementation of SOPs that focused on the organizing of processing food in hospital’s kitchen. The study uses explanative qualitative approach with case study method. The types and sources of data are qualitative and primary data. Methods of data collection are interview, observation, and documentation.The results of the study show that the change of management caused many changes and adjustments in day to day operational implementation, but there is not enough updating the SOPs. The evaluation of SOPs reveals that the report needed by new management is not available as there are not enough documents in the existing SOPs to support the availability of the report. Hence, the updating of SOPs is necessary to fulfill the management demand.

This study is aimed at uncovering the students’ acquisition order of coordinating conjunction for then to seek the possible causes of such phenomenon. Quantitative approach with implicational scaling and qualitative approach with case study were employed with test, focused-group interview, and document analysis of some related textbooks as the instruments. A test consist of 70 questions about the usage of seven coordinating conjunctions in which each word is represented by 10 questions was given to the 13 students of eleventh grade of senior high school for the data collection related to the students’ acquisition order. The documents were then analyzed through several steps as suggested by the expert. The results show that the students acquire “and”, “so”, “for”, “but”, “or”, “yet”, and “nor” as in order. The external factors which influence the order are the formal complexity of each conjunction and the lack of exposure of coordinating conjunction both in the teaching activity and textbooks. Thus, teachers are suggested to provide more explicit teaching on coordinating conjunction and necessary knowledge about the usage of each word. Also, book writers should provide ample exposure to give students more knowledge about the usage of those conjunctions in a meaningful context.

Social media creates changes in the world of marketing, especially promotion and advertising that results in the creation of online business trends. Ivoree is a local brand that sells women's shoes through Instagram to make sales, Ivoree started selling since September 2019 through Instagram social media. Ivoree began to experience development and use social media Instagram as its main promotional tool. The purpose of this study was to find out how to use Ivoree Instagram social media. The concept used in this research is the use of Instagram social media in marketing products. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. While the data collection methods used are interviews, observation, documentation, and literature study. The results of this study are the use of social media on Instagram by uploading content and using features provided by Instagram to interact with followers, Ivoree also endorsed influencers on Instagram to attract the attention of its target market.Media sosial menciptakan perubahan pada dunia pemasaran khususnya promosi dan periklanan yang mengakibatkan terciptanya tren bisnis online. Ivoree merupakan merek lokal yang menjual sepatu perempuan melalui Instagram untuk melakukan penjualan. Ivoree mulai berjualan sejak September 2019 dan menggunakan media sosial Instagram sebagai alat promosi utamanya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemanfaatan media sosial instagram Ivoree. Konsep yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pemanfaatan media sosial Instagram dalam memasarkan produk. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Sedangkan metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah pemanfaataan media sosial di Instagram dengan mengunggah konten dan menggunakan fitur yang disediakan Instagram untuk berinteraksi dengan pengikutnya. Ivoree juga meng-endorse influencer di Instagram untuk menarik perhatian target pasarnya.

Tujuan dari penelitian untuk mengetahui gambaran program literasi yang ada Di Perpustakaan SMPN X Kabupaten Banyuwangi saat ini, sebagai bahan pertimbangan untuk membuat dan mengadakan Program Literasi Perpustakaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara terhadap pustakawan (online via Whatsapp). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan 1) Perpustakaan di kelola oleh 2 pustakawan; 2) Belum adanya program literasi yang pure dari perpustakaan;3) Program literasi satu-satunya adalah program GLS yang berupa membaca 15 menit sebelum kegiatan belajar mengajar (PBM) di mulai;4) Program Perpustakaan hingga saat ini masih sebatas kerjasama dengan para guru, untuk mengadakan PBM di ruang perpustakaan. Dari hasil tersebut peneliti membahas tentang Program Literasi yang akan diadakan dengan jadwal Harian, Mingguan, Bulanan, dan Per Semester. Peneliti juga memberikan gambaran akan hambatan-hambatan yang menghalangi kemampuan berliterasi secara umum yang dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan berliterasi siswa. ABSTRACT The purpose of the research is to find out the description of the literacy program in the Library of the SMPN X Banyuwangi Regency, as a material consideration for making and holding a Library Literacy Program. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, with data collection techniques through interviews with librarians (online via Whatsapp). The results of this study indicate 1) The library is managed by 2 librarians; 2) There is no pure literacy program from the library; 3) The only literacy program is the GLS program in the form of reading 15 minutes before teaching and learning activities (PBM) starts; 4) The Library Program is still limited to collaboration with teachers, to hold PBM in the library room. From these results, the researchers discussed the Literacy Program which will be held with a schedule of Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Per Semester. Researchers also provide an overview of the obstacles that hinder the ability of general literacy which can affect the ability of students to be illiterate.
