The present study was conducted to investigate the differential structuralproperties of values among the three educational generations in Bangladesh. Underlying conviction of the present study was that certain specific patterns of values are modelled by the history, culture and socio-economic condition of a particular nation in which it is exposed. It was predicted that certain value pattern have different implication in different educational generation having unique experienced and pattern of its own. The sample of the study was composed of 180 Ss equally divided into older teachers, younger teachers and students in different educational institutions of Rajshahi town in Bangladesh (N = 60) for each group separately. Age of the older teachers ranged from 45 to 60 years, younger teachers ranged from 31 to 40 years and students ranged from 20 to 29 years. The datawere obtained through Rokeach’s value inventory (Ara’s Bengali version). These data were factor analyzed by using Kaiser’s criterion of oblique rotation method. Six factors extracted through factor analysis for older teachers, six factors for younger teachers and seven factors for students revealed the differential structural properties of values. These findings supported the conviction that differential value pattern of three generations stemming from the present political, economic, cultural situation may exert enormous influence on the differential educational institutions causing three different pattern of values.

ObjectivesWe describe the development and initial validation of a new scale for measuring non-illness factors that are important in predicting occupational outcomes, called the NIPSA (non-illness predictors of sickness absence) scale.MethodsForty-two questions were developed which covered a broad range of potential non-illness-related risk factors for sickness absence. 682 participants in the South East London Community Health study answered these questions and a range of questions regarding both short-term and long-term sickness absence. Factor analysis was conducted prior to examining the links between each identified factor and sickness absence outcomes.ResultsExploratory factor analysis using the oblique rotation method suggested the questionnaire should contain 26 questions and extracted four factors with eigenvalues greater than 1: perception of psychosocial work environment (factor 1), perceived vulnerability (factor 2), rest-focused attitude towards recovery (factor 3) and attitudes towards work (factor 4). Three of these factors (factors 1, 2 and 3) showed significant associations with long-term sickness absence measures (p<0.05), meaning a final questionnaire that included 20 questions with three subscales.ConclusionsThe NIPSA is a new tool that will hopefully allow clinicians to quickly assess for the presence of non-illness factors that may be important in predicting occupational outcomes and tailor treatments and interventions to address the barriers identified. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that a scale focused on transdiagnostic, non-illness-related predictors of sickness absence has been developed.

Present study aimed to develop and validate the Attitude toward Obesity Scale and Obesity Myths Scale through Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and resulting factor structure was confirmed through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Sample of EFA comprised of adults (N = 300) including men (n = 144) and women (n = 156) with the age range of 18 to 36 years (M = 21.53, SD = 2.65). A factor loading of .35 was set as selection criteria for an item in the scale. Using oblique rotation method, EFA presented two meaningful factors for Attitude Toward Obesity Scale and for Obesity Myths Scale. Attitude Toward Obesity Scale revealed two factors named as Lifestyle of Obese (7 items) and Qualities and Characteristics of Obese (7 items). Similarly, for Obesity Myths Scale, two factors named as Weight Control Myths (5 items) and Negative Characterization Myths (5 items) were emerged. For CFA, sample of 430 students including men (n = 180) and women (n = 250) of age range from 19 to 40 years (M = 21.62, SD = 3.13) were taken. CFA confirmed the factor structure of both scales. Alpha reliabilities were ranged from .61 to .67 for Attitude Toward Obesity Scale and from .50 to .57 for Obesity Myths Scale. Overall, both instruments emerged as reliable and valid measures to assess the explicit attitude and myth related to obesity in Pakistani culture.

Didactic Usage of Information and Communication Technologies in Universities: ¿aspiration or expectation?AbstractHuman being has always been curious with all its wit about improving its quality of life, being communication one of the most featured areas due to its remarkable socializing role. The convergence of advances in Electronics, Informatic and Communications transmuted into Telematic and the creation of Internet, which has interconnected the world and all social environments. Education, truly a social process, has been impacted by the arrival of the Internet since the 90s, modifying not only the type of resources used in the didactic process of facilitation and acquisition of knowledge involving their two main protagonists: teachers and students, respectively; but also the culture of the educational institutions, which, in the Venezuelan case, by law, must incorporate in their mission and organizational developing plans, the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). After two decades of establishing the use of Internet as a priority in educational institutions, mostly in Venezuelan universities, in the present article two higher education institutions are analyzed using the Popperian vision (Popper, 1986): one private and one public; to determine if the didactic usage of ICT responds to an expectation or to an aspiration, and as such, if it is personal or institutional. A dissatisfaction of the legal expectation was evidenced, which turned in an institutional aspiration, due to the existence of a negative and general predisposition of teachers and students towards the use of ICT as resources for the mediation of didactic processes in today’s society, which highlights the important role of the personal affective component; in this case, digital affectivity (Goncalves, 2015) for the accomplishment of goals that a higher education institution has established. Keywords: ICT, Didactic Usage, Higher Education, Digital Affectivity.

Introduction. The amount of information offered for study in modern educational institutions is rapidly increasing. Overcoming the inconsistency of the obligation to master the increasing flow of educational information and achieving the necessary "level" of training in fulfilling the traditional requirement of pedagogy – withstanding an acceptable amount of visibility leads to the mass introduction of multimedia tools. The folding so-called clip thinking shades the problems of filling thesaurus learning information virtually uncontrollable content and quality.Materials and Methods. Theoretical and empirical methods of research were used in the course of the work: analysis, synthesis, generalization, comparison, comparison, scientific theorization.Results. Clip-thinking interferes with a clear understanding of the context, and therefore the clip leaves no trace in semantically related phenomena. The trend of radical change in the roles of teachers and students reveals the main reasons and conditions for the transition to visualized presentation of educational information. In addition to the apparent negative consequences of the current pedagogical situation, some advantages of the protective reactions developed by modern learners to the most powerful stream of educational information are revealed. Studies have confirmed the risks of over-visibility in the learning process. Objective differences in the purpose and effectiveness of the types of visibility considered are highlighted. The main points of the formation of visual images are reflected, the obligatory maintenance of the conditions of problems in the educational process is emphasized.Discussion and Conclusions. The studies that have been carried out present an argument for the recommendations for the proposed frame-graphic approach in the organization of the educational process. The orientation of the educational process for each allocated group is justified, which requires a rather different nature of the script. One solution is to use educational information visualization tools to ensure the sustainability of the creative thinking vector.
