Context: Blindness is a physical-sensory disability that limits the ability of affected people to carry out daily-life activities and deteriorates their quality of life. It is estimated that there are 296.000 blind people throughout the Colombian territory. Method: This article presents the development of an electronic baton that works with a system of guiding lines and information points, together with an application for mobile devices. This research is based on the quantitative method, seeking to investigate the characteristics of the device in terms of its use. A descriptive investigation is performed which can be classified as ex post facto. Results: As a result, a device is developed which can guide a blind person to their destination in closed areas, although the time used for movement is greater compared to a journey with human assistance. Conclusions: There are solutions aimed at guiding a blind person in closed spaces that achieve this goal, although they require bulky hardware, which prevents the dimensions of the device from resembling those of the walking sticks normally used as a tool by the blind population. This limits the natural use of this kind of devices.

This chapter investigates the influence of computer literacy through blended learning methods on the computer-based aptitude test performance of prospective students at the University of Port Harcourt. An ex-post facto research design was used, and simple random sampling was adopted in drawing a sample of 1,720 candidates from a total population of 38,988 who wrote the examinations. A Computer Literacy Scale was developed to ascertain the computer literacy level of participants and a Results Collection Form was developed to gather test results. This study was based around nine research questions, which were answered using descriptive statistics, and nine corresponding hypotheses, which were tested using inferential statistics. Results show that computer literacy through blended leaning methods has a significant effect on performances on the computer-based test while gender has no effect. There was also a significant difference in the performance of candidates on paper and computer examinations.

Abstract Purpose of this research is to detect how much the conformity influence the behavior of traffic discipline in students with a motorcycle in Jakarta. This research using quantitative method with ex post facto research design and using accidental sampling technique. Population in this research were all Universitas Negeri Jakarta students which ride a motorcycle as main transportation. The sample of this research are 40 respondents. This research used regression analysis with SPSS version 17.00 as analysis data technique. Based on the results of the data, the F value is 9,757 with 0,003 as significance level. Regression equation, Y = 69,782 + (-) 0,382X and the influenced of (R square) variable are 20,4 %, 79,6 % remaining are infuenced by the other factors than conformity. Based on this calculation Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so that can be concluded that there is a significant negative effect between conformity and traffic discipline in Universitas Negeri Jakarta students were ride a motorcycle, and it means if the conformity of Universitas Negeri Jakarta students which ride a motorcycle was increase so, the disciplinary of them was decrease. This study attempts to discover the effect of applying Personal Experiences Strategy on students’ achievement in writing narrative text. It was conducted by using experimental research design. The population of this research was the tenth (X) grade students of SMA N 6 Padangsidimpuan  which consists of 10 parallel classes with the total number of students is 64. The samples of this research were taken by random sampling through lottery technique. The result was class X1 consisted of 32 students became the experimental group and class X2 consisted of 32 students became the control group. The experimental group was taught by Personal Experiences Strategy while the control group was taught by using Big group work strategy. The instrument was used to collect the data was writing narrative text. After the data were analyzed, it was found that the value of t-observed was 4.25 with the degree of freedom (df) = 62 at the level significance 0.05. it means that t-observed was higher than t-table (4.25 > 1.997. The result of this study showed that teaching narrative text by using personal experiences strategy was higher than that by big group work. Keywords : Using Personal Experiences Strategy. This research aims to develop Pop-Up Book as supplementary media to support the teaching of narrative texts and to evaluate whether or not the media are feasible to teach narrative texts to the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 8 Pontianak. The media consisted of narrative texts with pop-up pictures. They were divided based on the structure of a narrative text. The materials were taken from the students’ textbook that the researcher has simplified. The procedures were adapted from ADDIE Model proposed by Branch and it used three phases, namely, Analyse, Design, and Develop. From analyse phase, it was found that the students needed interesting media that was visually attractive to engage them in the teaching learning process and to support the existing materials. The Design phase covered the aspects, which were the focus of the media, of the materials and the pictures for the media, and the structure of the media. The Development phase concerned the development of the essential parts of the media. According to the evaluation result, the media are considered feasible to be applied by the teachers to teach narrative text reading.
