This research objective is to find out the significant effect of the Snowball Throwing model with audiovisual media on the ability to write narrative text of UMN English Education Students of UMN Al-Washliyah. The research subjects were English Education FKIP students. There were about 22 students who participated in the research using a Quasi Experimental Design research approach. This study used a pretest and posttest control group design. Based on the statistical output, it is found that the average score for the improvement of students' narrative text writing skills or the mean for the control class is 0.19486 which belongs to the low increase category, while for the experimental class it is 0.36691 which belongs to the moderate improvement category. Thus, statistically and descriptively,  it can be said that there is a difference in the average score for the improvement of students' narrative text writing skills between the control class and the experimental class. Based on the Independent Samples Test output table in the Equal variances assumed section, the Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.008 which is smaller than 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the average value of the improvement in students' narrative text writing skills between the control class and the experimental class. Furthermore, the Mean Difference value obtained is -0.172041, which means that the difference between the average value of the increase in students' narrative text writing skills in the control class and the experimental class is 0.172041. From the description above, as a conclusion, learning with audiovisual based animation media is better at improving students' narrative text writing skills.

The lack of use the writing skills method raises several obstacles experienced by students, including weaknesses in understanding the basics of Arabic writing and difficulty in answering Arabic questions. Therefore, it is necessary to improve learning as an effort to improve writing skills by applying the imla’ manzur method. This research is an experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design model, aimed at finding out the effectiveness of the imla’ manzur method. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, tests, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Then the validity of the data is tested using the independent sample t-test. The results obtained were that in the experimental class the mastery of Arabic writing skills of students after applying the imla’ manzur method had increased the average value from 52.08 to 78.57. Then, the results of the independent sample t-test showed a significant difference in the mastery of Arabic writing skills in the experimental class and the control class 0.000 < 0.05 after treatment, so that the conclusion of this study based on the data obtained showed that the application of the imla’ manzur method was effective in improving students Arabic writing skills. Evidenced by a significant increase in learning outcomes, student enthusiasm when taking turns to write vocabulary and sentences in Arabic on the board, as well as growing sensitivity of student analysis of Arabic writing skills.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah  media Vlog lebih efektif terhadap keterampilan menulis teks narasi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Gamping. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 2 Gamping. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain The Nonequivalent Post-Test-Only Control Group Design. Kelas eksperimen menggunakan media vlog dan kelas kontrol menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Gamping. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII E sebagai kelas Kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes uraian yang telah diuji cobakan dan lembar observasi. Dari hasil uji coba instrumen tes uraian dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah Uji t dengan taraf signifikan =0,05. Pengaruh penerapan media vlog telah diterapkan  dengan  baik, sesuai dengan prosedur yang benar,  siswa juga menunjukan perubahan perilaku sesuai dengan indikator yang diharapkan. Setelah diterapkan media vlog siswa lebih mudah memahami pembelajaran menulis teks narasi dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran secara langsung tanpa menggunakan media vlog. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan hasil uji-t 6,661dengan db 58 dan P sebesar 0,000. Hasil penelitian terbukti bahwa media vlog lebih efektif terhadap keterampilan menulis teks narasi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Gamping. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan hasil nilai rata-rata di kelas eksperimen sebesar 80,73 dan nilai persentase di kelas kontrol sebesar 60,03. Kata Kunci: Keefektifan, Vlog, Menulis Teks Narasi Abstract: The aim of this study to find out whether the media Vlog is more effective against narrative text writing skills seventh grade students of State Middle School 2 Gamping. This research was conducted in Gamping 2 Public Middle School. Type this research is an experiment  pseudo with the design Nonequivalent Post-Test-Only Control Group Design. Class experiment using media vlog and control class using a learning model directly. The population of this study are all VII grade middle school students Country 2 Gamping. Sample this research is class students VII C as an experimental class and class VII E as the Control class. Instruments used in this research is a description of the tested and sheet observe From the results of the trial description stated instruments they are valid valid. Analysis technique the data used is the t test with a significance level = 0.05. Effect of media application  vlog has been implemented well, according to the correct procedure, students also show change behavior according to the indicator which are expected. After applied more vlog media to students easy to understand learning narrative text writing compared with learning directly without using vlog media. This is shown with the t-test results of 6.661 with db 58 and P of 0,000 The results of the study are proven that vlog media is more effective towards text writing skills narrative of VII grade students of State Middle School 2 Gamping. This final project focuses on Alvin and the Chipmunks film in spoken narrative text to improve students’ speaking skill. The objectives of this study are (1) to find out the students’ speaking ability before being taught by using Alvin and the Chipmunks film in spoken narrative text, (2) to find out the students’ speaking ability after being taught Alvin and the Chipmunks film in spoken narrative text, and (3) to find out whether or not there is significant difference of the students’ speaking ability before and after being taught using Alvin and the Chipmunks film at storytelling. In this study, the population was the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Gubug in the academic year 2013/2014. The number of the population was 324 students classified into 9 classes. Cluster sampling is used in taking the sample. 69 students are selected as sample out of 324 students that consist of 36 students from class Xi as the experiment group and 33 students XH as the control group. Experiment research was used here to get the data. The pre-test is given to the students on both of groups. After that, the difference treatments are given in experimental group. At the end of the research, the post-test is given to both of groups. In experiment group, the students retell the story of Alvin and the Chipmunks after watching the film and in control groups the students retell without watching the film in front of the class. The mean score of the experiment group 72.08 was higher than the mean score of the control group 65.455. The t-test application to the scores of two groups showed that the valuable (9,67) is higher than t-table (1.996). It can be seen that there is a significance difference speaking ability of the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 Gubug after being taught using Alvin and the Chipmunks film. To overcome these problems, the researcher offers some suggestions. For the school, the school should give good facilities and many media for teaching and learning process. For the teacher, the teacher should give variation teaching especially using media in spoken narrative text to improve students’ speaking skill. For the students, the students have to do more active, confident, and practice to practice speaking English

This study is concerned with teaching vocabulary by using audiovisual media. The objectives of this final project are 1) to find out the students’ vocabulary taught without using audiovisual media, 2) to find out the students’ vocabulary taught using audiovisual media, 3) to find out significance difference between the students’ vocabularywho are taught by using audiovisual media and those taught without using audiovisual media. The population of this study is the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 Cepiring Kendal. The researcher takes two classes as the subject of thisresearch. The classes are X IIS 3 and XIIS 4. They are divided into experimental group (X IIS 3) and control group (X IIS 4). The researcher uses test to get the data. The test consists of two tests, they are pre-test and post-test. From the data analysis, the researcher obtains the mean score both the experimentaland control groups. The mean score of thepre-test in the experimental group is 56.71, while the mean score of the post-test in the experimental group is 75.42. The improvement in the experimental group is 18.42. The mean score of the pre-test in the control group is 52.85, while the mean score ofthe post-test in the control group is 61.00. The improvement in the control group is 8.15.The result of t-test is 8.01, while the value of t-table is 2.00. It means that the value of t-test is higher than t-table (8.01 > 2.00). From the data above, it can be concluded that there are significant difference between the students’ who are taught by using audiovisual media and taught without using audiovisual media. The data proves that it is affective to use audiovisual mediato increase students’ vocabulary ability.

This study is motivated by the low critical thinking skills and learning outcomes possessed by the students of VII grade of SMPN 14 Kendari. This study aims to determine the enhancement in critical thinking skills and learning outcomes on the subject Matter of Heat and Its Transfer. The population of this study were all students of VII grade of SMPN 14 Kendari who were registered in the odd semester in 2019/2020 school year, with total 204 students. The sample of this research was group VII3 with total 41 students as the experimental group and group VII4 with total 41 students as the control group who were taken by using random sampling techniques. The research data were analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Research results show: 1) There is no significant difference between the pre-test average scores of students critical thinking skills in the experimental group and the control group; 2) There is no significant difference between the pre-test average scores of the experimental group students and the control group; 3) The post-test average score of students from critical thinking skills in the experimental group was significantly higher than in the control group; 4) The post-test average score of the experimental group students was significantly higher than in the control group; 5) The average value of N-gain critical thinking skills of students in the experimental group was significantly higher than the control group; 6) ) The average value of N-gain learning outcomes of students in the experimental group was significantly higher than the control group.

Abstract. This research is motivated by the low writing skills of poetry. This is characterized by students' poetry writing skills that are not productive, still informative, students are still difficult to express their ideas, and are less attractive to students because they only use one technique. One learning technique that can improve poetry writing skills is mind mapping techniques. Mind mapping is also a learning technique to stimulate students' imagination in generating ideas, recording and summarizing using mind mapping. This study aims to examine the effect of Mind Mapping Technique on Poetry Writing Skills of students in elementary school.This study was an experimental study of Quasi Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of class V. Sampling is done by saturated sample technique (total sampling), namely VB class as an experimental class and VA class as a control class. The experimental class consisted of 34 students and the control class consisted of 36 students. The instrument used to determine the effect of mind mapping techniques is observation and documentation. The experimental class was treated by using mind mapping techniques in poetry writing skills while the control class without using mind mapping techniques.Based on the results of the pretest obtained the average value of the experimental class 60 and the average value of the control class 64.2. From the results of the comparison of the two sample classes, there was a difference in value of 3.7, so it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the two pretest grades, meaning that the two classes have the same initial ability. Next, learning was conducted using mind mapping techniques in the experimental class and learning without mind mapping techniques in the control class. After learning is given then in both classes posttest is conducted. For the experimental class obtained an average value of 82 and for the control class obtained an average value of 77.5. From the results of testing hypotheses with a significant level of 0.05 obtained a significant value of 0,000 because sig. <α, the hypothesis is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of using mind mapping techniques on students' poetry writing skills in elementary school. Keywords: Mind Mapping Techniques, Writing Skills, Poetry

This research is motivated by the lack of students in poetry writing skills. This study aims to determine the effect ofmedia Big Book on poetry writing skills as well as differences in poetry writing skills between groups of students who take thelearning media Big Book and groups of students who take conventional learning. This research is a quasi-experimental design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample in this study were students in class IVA with a total of 20 students and students in class IVB with a total of 20 students, students of SD Negeri Kalapadua I, Lemahsugih Sub-district, Majalengka Regency, who were determined by simple random sampling technique by lottery. Data collection techniques through written tests using the Process Worksheet (LKP), observation sheets and documentation. Analysis of the data used is qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained from teacher and student observation sheets and quantitative data were analyzed through statistical description tests, normality tests and Mann-Whitney tests or U tests. Based on the results of data analysis, it showed that: 1) there were significant differences in the initial ability of poetry writing skills between experimental classes and control class. But it can be seen from the results of the average value that the experimental class data of 34.00 lower than the average value of the overall control class of 42.00 can be said that the initial ability of the control class is better than the experimental class before the treatment is given. 2) there is a significant difference in poetry writing skills between classes using big book media and those applying conventional learning that is Sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 <0.05.   Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya siswa dalam keterampilan menulis puisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh media Big Book terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi  serta perbedaan keterampilan menulis puisi antara kelompok siswa yang mengikuti media pembelajaran Big Book dengan kelompok siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Desain. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas IVA dengan jumlah 20 siswa dan siswa kelas IVB dengan jumlah siswa 20, siswa SD Negeri Kalapadua I Kecamatan Lemahsugih Kabupaten Majalengka yang ditentukan dengan teknik simple random sampling dengan cara undian. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui tes tertulis menggunakan Lembar Kerja Proses (LKP), lembar observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari lembar observasi guru dan siswa dan data kuantitaif dianalisis melalui uji deskripsi statistik, uji normalitas dan uji Mann-Whitney atau uji U. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa : 1) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan awal keterampilan menulis puisi antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Tetapi dapat dilihat dari hasil nilai rata-rata bahwa data kelas eksperimen sebesar 34,00 lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan nilai rata – rata kelas kontrol secara keseluruhan sebesar 42,00 dapat dikatakan bahwa kemampuan awal kelas kontrol lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kelas eksperimen sebelum diberikannya perlakuan. 2) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi antara kelas yang menggunakan media big book dengan yang menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional yaitu nilai Sig. <p class="PRIMAJUDULArtikelEnglish">Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media film animasi terhadap keterampilan menulis karangan narasi siswa kelas V SD. Jenis penelitian ini adalah <em>quasi experiment </em>dengan desain <em>pretest-posttest control group desain.</em> Hasil penilaian menunjukkan kelompok kontrol memperoleh rata-rata skor pretes 27,92 dan postes 29,51, kelompok eksperimen I memperoleh rata-rata skor pretes 27,95 dan postes 31,73, sedangkan kelompok eksperimen II memperoleh rata-rata skor pretes 27,75 dan postes 31,33. Peningkatan rata-rata skor yang diperoleh kelompok kontrol sebesar 1,59. Peningkatan rata-rata skor kelompok eksperimen I sebesar 3,78 dan peningkatan rata-rata skor kelompok eksperimen II sebesar 3,58. Hasil uji t kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen I diketahui nilai signifikansi 0,000 &lt; 0,05. Hasil uji t kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen II menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 &lt; 0,05. Hasil <em>Anova </em>menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 &lt; 0,05. This study was a quasi-experimental employing the pretest-posttest control group design. The results of the study show the control group attained a pretest mean score of 27.92 and a posttest mean score of 29.51; experimental group I attained a pretest mean score of 27.95 and a posttest mean score of 37.73 while experimental group II attained a pretest score of 27.75 and a posttest mean score 31.33. The mean gain score attained by the control group was 1.59. The mean gain score attained by experimental group I was 3.78, and that by experimental group II was 3.58. The results of the t-test for the control group and experimental group I showed a significance value of 0.000 &lt; 0.05. The results of the t-test for the control group and experimental group II show a significance value of 0.000 &lt; 0.05. The result of ANOVA shows a significance value of 0.000 &lt; 0.05. Based on the data, it can be concluded that there are effects of the use of animation film media on the narrative text writing skill of Grade V students of ESs.</p> <strong>Keywords: </strong>animation film media, text writing skill<br />

 Today there are so many learning strategies to support teaching and learning activities. One of the learning strategies that can be applied in writing skills is Task Based Language Learning. This research aims to measure the level of student mastery of descriptive text writing skills before and after the use of Task Based Language Learning strategies; measure the effectiveness of the implementation of Task Based Language Learning, and; obtain information about the implementation of Task Based Language Learning. The method used in this research was a pre-experimental. Meanwhile, the research design was one group pre-test and post-test design. The research findings explained that the use of Task Based Language Learning can improve students’s descriptive text writing skills. This is proven by an increase in the average value obtained by students. The average score in the pre-test was 60.8 while the post-test average score increased by 74.88. Then based on the overall questionnaire data analysis, the application of this learning strategy contributed positively to the learning of descriptive French writing skills.

Writing explanation text skills means the ability of students to express ideas, feelings, and experiences to others in writing a language that is good or contextual and true about social, natural and cultural phenomena. In relation to learning to write explanation texts, reasoning skills and socio-economic status of parents need to be considered. This study is aims to know the reasoning skills on writing explanation text skills reviewed by social economic status of parents of VIIIth grade students in junior high school 2 Raya, Simalungun District. This study is conducted by using Ex Post Facto approach. This study shows that there is a significant difference between explanation text writing skills of students who have high reasoning skills and those with low reasoning skills. It means that explanation text writing skills of students who have high reasoning skills are better results than explanation text writing skills of students who have low reasoning skills. The average score of writing skills produced by students having higher reasoning skills is higher than the explanation text writing skills of students who have low reasoning skills, that is 78.8> 73.2. Thus, in explanation text writing learning, students who have high reasoning skills are better results than students who have low reasoning skills.
