Abstract. This research is motivated by the low writing skills of poetry. This is characterized by students' poetry writing skills that are not productive, still informative, students are still difficult to express their ideas, and are less attractive to students because they only use one technique. One learning technique that can improve poetry writing skills is mind mapping techniques. Mind mapping is also a learning technique to stimulate students' imagination in generating ideas, recording and summarizing using mind mapping. This study aims to examine the effect of Mind Mapping Technique on Poetry Writing Skills of students in elementary school.This study was an experimental study of Quasi Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of class V. Sampling is done by saturated sample technique (total sampling), namely VB class as an experimental class and VA class as a control class. The experimental class consisted of 34 students and the control class consisted of 36 students. The instrument used to determine the effect of mind mapping techniques is observation and documentation. The experimental class was treated by using mind mapping techniques in poetry writing skills while the control class without using mind mapping techniques.Based on the results of the pretest obtained the average value of the experimental class 60 and the average value of the control class 64.2. From the results of the comparison of the two sample classes, there was a difference in value of 3.7, so it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the two pretest grades, meaning that the two classes have the same initial ability. Next, learning was conducted using mind mapping techniques in the experimental class and learning without mind mapping techniques in the control class. After learning is given then in both classes posttest is conducted. For the experimental class obtained an average value of 82 and for the control class obtained an average value of 77.5. From the results of testing hypotheses with a significant level of 0.05 obtained a significant value of 0,000 because sig. <α, the hypothesis is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of using mind mapping techniques on students' poetry writing skills in elementary school. Keywords: Mind Mapping Techniques, Writing Skills, Poetry

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan menulis puisi. Hal ini ditandai dengan keterampilan menulis puisi siswa belum bersifat produktif, masih bersifat teori informatif, siswa masih sulit untuk menuangkan ide-idenya, dan kurang menarik bagi siswa karena hanya menggunakan satu teknik (ceramah). Salah satu teknik pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis puisi adalah teknik mind mapping. Mind  mapping  juga merupakan  salah  satu teknik pembelajaran  untuk  merangsang  imajinasi  siswa  dalam  menghasilkan gagasan,  mencatat  dan  meringkas  menggunakan  pemetaan  pikiran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti Pengaruh Teknik Mind Mapping terhadap Keterampilan Menulis Puisi siswa di sekolah dasar.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen jenis Quasi Experimental Design dengan  rancangan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V semester II. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik sampel jenuh (total sampling) yaitu kelas VB sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VA sebagai kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen berjumlah 34 siswa dan kelas kontrol berjumlah 36 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik mind mapping adalah observasi dan dokumentasi. Kelas eksperimen diberi perlakuan dengan menggunakan teknik mind mapping dalam keterampilan menulis puisi sedangkan kelas kontrol tanpa menggunakan teknik mind mapping.Berdasarkan hasil pretest diperoleh nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen 60 dan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol 64,2. Dari hasil perbandingan kedua kelas sampel tersebut diperoleh perbedaan nilai sebesar 3,7, maka dapat disimpulkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan nilai pretest kedua kelas, artinya kedua kelas memiliki kemampuan awal yang sama. Selanjutnya dilakukan pembelajaran yang menggunakan teknik mind mapping pada kelas eksperimen dan pembelajaran tanpa teknik mind mapping pada kelas kontrol. Setelah pembelajaran diberikan kemudian pada kedua kelas dilakukan posttest. Untuk kelas ekperimen diperoleh nilai rata-rata 82 dan untuk kelas kontrol diperoleh nilai rata-rata 77,5. Dari hasil pengujian hipotesis dengan taraf signifikan 0,05 diperoleh nilai signifikan sebesar 0,000 karena sig. α maka hipotesis diterima, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan teknik mind mapping terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi siswa di sekolah dasar. Kata Kunci : Teknik Mind Mapping, Keterampilan Menulis, Puisi

This research is motivated by the lack of students in poetry writing skills. This study aims to determine the effect ofmedia Big Book on poetry writing skills as well as differences in poetry writing skills between groups of students who take thelearning media Big Book and groups of students who take conventional learning. This research is a quasi-experimental design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample in this study were students in class IVA with a total of 20 students and students in class IVB with a total of 20 students, students of SD Negeri Kalapadua I, Lemahsugih Sub-district, Majalengka Regency, who were determined by simple random sampling technique by lottery. Data collection techniques through written tests using the Process Worksheet (LKP), observation sheets and documentation. Analysis of the data used is qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained from teacher and student observation sheets and quantitative data were analyzed through statistical description tests, normality tests and Mann-Whitney tests or U tests. Based on the results of data analysis, it showed that: 1) there were significant differences in the initial ability of poetry writing skills between experimental classes and control class. But it can be seen from the results of the average value that the experimental class data of 34.00 lower than the average value of the overall control class of 42.00 can be said that the initial ability of the control class is better than the experimental class before the treatment is given. 2) there is a significant difference in poetry writing skills between classes using big book media and those applying conventional learning that is Sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 <0.05.   Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya siswa dalam keterampilan menulis puisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh media Big Book terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi  serta perbedaan keterampilan menulis puisi antara kelompok siswa yang mengikuti media pembelajaran Big Book dengan kelompok siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Desain. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas IVA dengan jumlah 20 siswa dan siswa kelas IVB dengan jumlah siswa 20, siswa SD Negeri Kalapadua I Kecamatan Lemahsugih Kabupaten Majalengka yang ditentukan dengan teknik simple random sampling dengan cara undian. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui tes tertulis menggunakan Lembar Kerja Proses (LKP), lembar observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari lembar observasi guru dan siswa dan data kuantitaif dianalisis melalui uji deskripsi statistik, uji normalitas dan uji Mann-Whitney atau uji U. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa : 1) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan awal keterampilan menulis puisi antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Tetapi dapat dilihat dari hasil nilai rata-rata bahwa data kelas eksperimen sebesar 34,00 lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan nilai rata – rata kelas kontrol secara keseluruhan sebesar 42,00 dapat dikatakan bahwa kemampuan awal kelas kontrol lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kelas eksperimen sebelum diberikannya perlakuan. 2) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi antara kelas yang menggunakan media big book dengan yang menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional yaitu nilai Sig. The lack of use the writing skills method raises several obstacles experienced by students, including weaknesses in understanding the basics of Arabic writing and difficulty in answering Arabic questions. Therefore, it is necessary to improve learning as an effort to improve writing skills by applying the imla’ manzur method. This research is an experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design model, aimed at finding out the effectiveness of the imla’ manzur method. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, tests, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Then the validity of the data is tested using the independent sample t-test. The results obtained were that in the experimental class the mastery of Arabic writing skills of students after applying the imla’ manzur method had increased the average value from 52.08 to 78.57. Then, the results of the independent sample t-test showed a significant difference in the mastery of Arabic writing skills in the experimental class and the control class 0.000 < 0.05 after treatment, so that the conclusion of this study based on the data obtained showed that the application of the imla’ manzur method was effective in improving students Arabic writing skills. Evidenced by a significant increase in learning outcomes, student enthusiasm when taking turns to write vocabulary and sentences in Arabic on the board, as well as growing sensitivity of student analysis of Arabic writing skills.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perbedaan motivasi belajar dan keterampilan menulis secara bersama-sama diantara siswa yang mengikuti teknik mind mapping dengan siswa yang mengikuti teknik pembelajaran menulis konvensional, perbedaan motivasi belajar antara siswa yang mengikuti teknik mind mapping dengan siswa yang mengikuti teknik pembelajaran menulis konvensional, dan perbedaan keterampilan menulis antara siswa yang mengikuti teknik mind mapping dengan siswa yang mengikuti teknik pembelajaran menulis konvensional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Abang dengan 2 kelas dipilih sebagai sampel. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Random Sampling. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experiment dengan rancangan Non Equivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan angket motivasi belajar menulis dan tes keterampilan menulis. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan MANCOVA dengan menggunakan motivasi belajar awal dan keterampilan menulis awal sebagai kovariat. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: pertama terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada motivasi belajar dan keterampilan menulis secara bersama-sama antara siswa yang mengikuti teknik mind mapping dengan siswa yang mengikuti teknik pembelajaran menulis konvensional; kedua terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada motivasi belajar antara siswa yang mengikuti teknik mind mapping dengan siswa yang mengikuti teknik pembelajaran menulis konvensional; ketiga terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada keterampilan menulis antara siswa yang mengikuti teknik mind mapping dengan siswa yang mengikuti teknik pembelajaran menulis konvensional.Kata Kunci : Teknik Mind Mapping, Motivasi Belajar, Keterampilan Menulis This study aimed at describing the difference in learning motivation and writing skill simultaneously of the students who learned by mind mapping technique and those who learned by conventional technique, the difference in learning motivation of the students who learned by mind mapping technique and those who learned by conventional technique, the difference in writing skill of the students who learned by mind mapping technique and those who learned by conventional technique. The data was analyzed by using MANCOVA in which pre-students’ learning motivation and pre-students’ writing skill used as covariat. The hypothesis was tested at 5% level of significance. The results indicated that (1) there was a significant difference in learning motivation and writing skill simultaneously of the students who learned by mind mapping technique and by conventional technique, (2) there was a significant difference learning motivation in writing of the students who learned by mind mapping technique and by conventional technique, (3) there was a significant difference in writing skill of the students who learned mind mapping technique and by conventional technique.keyword : Mind Mapping Technique, Learning Motivation, Writing Skill

The objective of this study was to find out the significant difference in writing achievement between the 11th grade students SMA Al-Amalul Khair Palembang who were taught by Mind Mapping technique and in that of those who were not. The second objective was to find out the improvement of the 11th grade students’ writing score at SMA Al-Amalul Khair Palembang after they were taught using Mind Mapping technique. The Quasi-experimental method through pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design was used in this study. The population was all of 11th grade natural science students at SMA Al-Amalul Khair Palembang in academic year 2018/2019. The total number of the population was 52 students in which they were divided into two classes as class 11.1 and 11.2. The sample was taken non-randomly. Class 11.1 was chosen as the experimental group and class 11.2 was chosen as the control group. The total number of the sample in the experimental group was 22 students. The test was administered twice as pretest and posttest. The results of the tests were analyzed by using paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test through SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) program.

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe students short story writing skills using the master copy technique and mind mapping techniques. This type of research is quantitative with analytical descriptive method. Research sampling is done by purposive sampling technique. The instrument used to collect data in this study is the performance test, which is writing short story texts. The research data ini the form of short story writing skills using the master copy technique and mind mapping technique. The research data collection technique is by analyzing students short story writing skills by apllying the master copy technique and mind mapping technique. Indicators used to assess short story writing skills, namely structure, instrinsic elements, and linguistic elements. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that. First, short story writing skills using the master copy the technique of the eleventh grade students of Padang Panjang public high school 2 are in good qualification because the average value of short story text writing skills using the master copy technique is 82.07. Second, short story writing skills using mind mapping techniques of the eleventh grade students of Padang Panjang 2 high school are in excellent qualifications because the average value of short story writing skills using mind mapping technique is 88.26. Third, based on the calculated average values for the two texts, there is a significant different between the short story writing skills using the master copy technique of the eleventh grade students of Padang Panjang 2 high school.Kata kunci : keterampilan menulis, teks cerpen, copy the master, mind mapping

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three, namely, first, describing the writing skills of the report text of the observation of class VII students of SMP Negeri 12 Padang before using mind mapping techniques based on discovery learning models. Second, describe the writing skills of the report report observation text of grade VII students at SMP Negeri 12 Padang after using mind mapping techniques based on discovery learning models. Third, describing the effect of mind mapping techniques based on discovery learning models on the writing skills of the report's observation text in grade VII students at SMP Negeri 12 Padang. There are two data of this study, namely the score of the results of the test writing skills in the report text of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 12 before and after using the mind mapping technique based on the discovery learning model. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded three things, namely first, the writing skills of the report report observation text of class VII Padang 12 Public Middle School before using the mind mapping technique based on discovery learning models in the Enough qualifications (C) with an average value of 59.51. Second, the report writing skills of the observation results of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 12 Padang after using the mind mapping technique based on the discovery learning model are more than adequate (LdC) with an average value of 71.74. Third, there is a significant effect in the use of mind mapping techniques based on discovery learning models on the report writing skills of the observation results of class VII students at SMP Negeri 12 Padang because of the tcount> t table (4.91> 1.70). Kata kunci: Pengaruh, Teknik Mind Mapping, Model Discovery Learning, Laporan Hasil Observasi.

This research aims to determine the effect of mind mapping learning methods on the basic laws of chemistry toward learning outcomes of students of class X MIPA in SMA Negeri 2 Langowan. The sample used in this study were all students of class X MIPA of SMA Negeri 2 Langowan. This research uses an experimental method, with the research method used is Quasi Experiment  with Nonequivalent Control Group Design design. The research data were obtained from post-test results. Obtained the average value of student learning outcomes Experiment class is 85. The results showed the value of tcount = 15.7> ttable = 2.21, so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Based on the results of the research it can be concluded that there is an influence on student learning outcomes on the basic laws of chemistry using mind mapping learning methods.

<p class="0abstract">This study examined the use of a mobile-based technological tool known as Mobile-assisted Mind Mapping Technique (MAMMAT) to support ESL university students’ argumentative writing skills performance. The participants of this study were 45 ESL university students from two lecture groups at a public university campus in Peninsular Malaysia. The study employed a quasi-experimental research design. The experimental group was taught utilizing the MAMMAT whilst the control group was taught utilizing the conventional method. The pre-test and post-test scores were analysed through analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the groups when test items were measured. As a conclusion, the MAMMAT has supported ESL university students’ argumentative writing skills performance. The study implicates that the use of MAMMAT can support students’ argumentative writing in ESL classroom.</p>
