The use of class discussions as a class activity is becoming popular in the learning environment. A lot can be achieved as a group than individually. Learners gain knowledge as well as communication skills. However, in almost every group discussion, there can be conflicts. Conflicts can occur due to opposing views on the topics or even among personalities. Do learners gain anything from the conflicts? This quantitative study explores the perception of learners on discussion and conflicts during class interactions. 164 students were chosen to respond to a 32 -item questionnaire. The instrument used is a questionnaire of 32 items Section A is the demographic profile. Section B looks at learners’ perception on “competing”, section looks at learners’ perceptions on “accommodating”, section D looks at learners’ perception on “avoiding”, while section E looks at learners’ perceptions on “compromising and collaborating’. Findings of this study reveal interesting pedagogical implications in the use of class discussions as part of teaching-learning activities.

ABSTRACTE-learning, the fusion between education and information technology, is the learning approach that suitable for the Z generation. E-learning implementation requires knowledge about e-learning concepts and skills to operate one of the e-learning applications. Students of Ta'miriyah Surabaya Middle and High School are the Z generation who are tech-savvy and prefer visual than auditory learning methods. Teachers in this school have inadequate knowledge of e-learning concepts and lack of skills using information technology for learning activities. The problems resolved through community partnership programs by performing three methods. The first is to socialize e-learning concepts based on the literature study, the second is to conduct e-learning application training, and the last is evaluation. The training use Edmodo's e-learning application that fits with the needs of students, teachers, and schools. Those needs are an application which multi-platforms, multi-devices, no charge, and the availability of interaction features between students, teachers, and parents. At the end of the program, it concluded that socialize could increase teacher knowledge and understanding of e-learning. Besides, the training improves the teachers' skills in using Edmodo's e-learning application. Keywords: e-learning; edmodo; z generation.

In essence teaching and learning activities are a process of interaction or reciprocal relations between the teacher and students in the learning unit. For this reason, an effort is needed in order to improve the quality of education and teaching, one of which is to choose a strategy or method for delivering learning material so that students can improve their learning achievement. Literature study was conducted to find information about learning, especially the cooperative learning model type Group Investigation (GI). So that by applying the GI cooperative model can improve learning outcomes and student learning motivation. Learning outcomes are what is achieved by students by involving all the potential they have after the students carry out learning activities. Achievement of these learning outcomes can be known by holding an assessment of learning outcomes tests. Motivation to learn means a tendency and high enthusiasm or a great desire for learning. Cooperative learning is a model of teaching where students learn in small groups and have different abilities. Group type Investigation (GI) learning is the most complex learning model. The core steps of the Investigastion Group's learning model are as follows. (1). The teacher forms groups and calls each group leader to receive assignments / material. (2). Each group leader returns to his group and then discusses in depth the tasks that are obtained with the group members. (3). After being considered enough time for group discussion, each group represented by the spokesperson delivered the results of the group discussion that was listened to by all students. (4). The results of the discussion were read by each group alternately by each group until all groups had their turn to deliver the results of the discussion. The application of cooperative learning model group investigation type can be used as one of the learning models in an effort to improve learning outcomes and student motivation in the learning process. Each stage in investigation group learning is a good assessment material related to teacher observation of student activities and the works produced by students while undergoing the learning process.

Few teacher educators would dispute that preservice teachers benefit from active participation in planning, implementing, and evaluating experiential learning activities in natural environments. Such experiences help them to understand how environmental education can be successfully woven into a teaching program rather than just an added “frill” presented in isolation. However, it is difficult to find efficient ways of organising these experiences in tertiary institutions. This paper discusses a partnership formed among teacher educators, schools, and field study centers in New South Wales, Australia. It was devised to enhance the experiences in environmental education for all participants, and at the same time make efficient use of human resources.

History has proven the development of Jawi calligraphy is in line with the development of Islam in the archipelago. It is the root of the nation’s identity that must be defended and maintained. As with other subjects, the challenge to learning Jawi calligraphy at this time is that the whole world including Malaysia is affected by the COVID 19 pandemic. Therefore, all learning activities are now geared towards teaching and learning from home (PdPR) as methods to ensure the continuity of education. Therefore, it is very important that Jawi calligraphy is given a new breath in teaching and learning. This research article will discuss the mobile learning approach (M-Learning) for Jawi calligraphy. Important elements discussed include the application development process according to the needs of teaching and learning activities. The features of the application that contribute to the improvement of students’ learning experience as well as the results of tests performed on students are also stated. The success of this M-Learning application for learning Jawi calligraphy will certainly be able to be further expanded to the learning of other subjects in various fields.

Objective: Enhanced knowledge retention and a preference towards a deep learning approach are desirable pedagogical outcomes of case-based learning (CBL). The CBL literature is sparse with respect to these outcomes, and this is especially so in the area of biochemistry. The present study determined the effect of CBL vs. non CBL on knowledge retention in an undergraduate biochemistry course; it also investigated associations of learning approach, age and gender. Methods: We used the Revised Two-Factor Study Process Questionnaire, a retention test, final exam grades and other demographic information to statistically compare academic outcomes of students subjected to either CBL or non-CBL active learning techniques. Results: We showed that students exposed to CBL in a second year course performed significantly better on a retention test conducted nine months after the final exam, and that there was a positive correlation between a deep learning approach and higher retention scores. We did not find an association between gender and age with the retention of biochemistry concepts. Conclusions: Our findings suggest that use of CBL in undergraduate biochemistry education may confer benefits in terms of retention of knowledge of key concepts.
