Research object. Research problem. Recently, both in the economic theory and in the practical activities in several countries, the concept of digital economy has emerged. Digitalization of processes, digital transformation, digital education, digital marketing – the word “digital” has been on everyone’s lips for several years now. The current crisis with its bomb-blasting effect has already proved that not only is the future of business a shift to digital technology, but the present is at stake if we do not act quickly. The beginning of the 21st century brought the development of digital technologies through the information revolution and the processes of economic globalization. Information in society and management processes has become a major resource. In the hands of man, it is transformed into knowledge, and social as well as economic relations are increasingly transferred to the network space. The development of digital culture is a key factor in the digital transformation of market actors. The authors show that at the present stage the institutional structure of a transformational society has features and requires the formation of a digital economy, which is now an actual task. The problem is the study. Although the crisis has to some extent mitigated the widening technological divide, the development of the digital economy in individual countries needs further government regulation and institutionalization.  In the near future, employers will face labour shortage to meet the new requirements, but the same acute problem will affect a large part of the working-age population, which will not be in demand in the new realities of digital life. Is the domestic economy ready for short- and medium-term digitalization, as the digital world has already entered our daily lives in most of its segments? The aim of the study is to reveal the peculiarities of the global trends of digital economic processes. Research methods. Analysis of scientific literature, synthesis, generalization. Scientific literature and theoretical interpretation to summarize the studies carried out on this topic, to find answers to what are the existing features of the current situation of digital economic development, because this phenomenon is interpreted on the basis of scientific analysis. The concepts will be analyzed, the most important concepts will be clarified and substantiated. Outcomes and conclusions. With the growing number of participants in digital transformation, both in individual countries and around the world, the issue of cybersecurity at the enterprise level, both at the state and international level, becomes more urgent. Therefore, there is a need to pay great attention to software and legislation (national and international) in the protection of the information space, as cybersecurity is the guarantor of “healthy” competition in the technological world. Analysis of global trends in the digitalization of the economic processes of enterprises confirms that such transformations will contribute not only to increasing the competitiveness of enterprises in world markets, but also to improving the quality and standard of the population. Keywords: digitalization, economics, digitalization trends.

The consistent evolution of technology around the world creates new production tools and opportunities for different economic agents. As a result, new economic structures are emerging as a result of industrial revolutions. Today, the digital economy is seen as the backbone of the fourth industrial revolution, as there is a clear shift in the underlying technology and signs of a technological and economic paradigm shift. The current stage of the industrial revolution is associated with the Internet communication technologies development, which has significantly changed the technology of business processes and has been called "digitalisation". Thus, the fourth industrial revolution and the third wave of globalisation are based on the digital economy. The article explores trends in the development of the Ukrainian economy under the influence of ubiquitous digitalisation. Digital transformation changes traditional business models of organisations, allowing them to occupy profitable niches in global markets, raising the prestige of business and the state as a whole. In today's environment, the level of digitalisation illustrates the degree of companies' competitiveness and is a determining factor in development strategy. To analyse the processes of digitalisation and determine the place of Ukraine in the digital world, the article identifies and describes four zones of digital transformation, which are particular to the world economies. It is determined that Ukraine has fallen into a zone of prospective economies, where digital infrastructure is limited. Still, digital development is accelerating, indicating the potential for digitalisation to flourish, which will benefit economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and long-term transformation. Ukraine's integral digital transformation index score is placed at 2.81 out of a possible 5 in 2021. It was determined that the main barriers to the digital transformation development in Ukrainian business include ineffective legislation, insufficient funding and low digital literacy of the population. However, the highest score among the index components was given to companies' overall level of digital transformation. A positive result of the survey is confirmation of increased investment in the digital technologies development in Ukraine: priority investments in this area include customer interaction, data analytics and HR management.

The article presents the results of research into the impact of the digital economy and Industry 4.0 on the education system as a global mechanism and on the tangible segment of the sectoral economy – agriculture. The aim of this study is to determine the main directions of education system transformation both structurally and substantively under the influence of the digital economy and Industry 4.0. According to the results obtained, Russia’s entry into the digital world system is hindered by a number of factors, including the lag of the Russian Federation from world’s major economies in breakthrough technologies, the shortage of staff with specialization in “Industry 4.0” and the level of digital culture development. The development of agro-industrial complex’s digital economy, provided by modern technologies, including robotics and artificial intelligence, entail high productivity, increased efficiency, safety and convenience. But on the other hand, it also raises complex questions about the broader impact of digitalization on the labor market in the agro-industrial complex, skills and competencies.

Energy generation, along with other sectors of Russia’s economy, is on the cusp of the era of digital transformation. Modern IT solutions ensure the transition of industrial enterprises from automation and computerization, which used to be the targets of the second half of the last century, to digital enterprise concept 4.0. The international record of technological and structural solutions in digitization may be used in Russia’s energy sector to the full extent. Specifics of implementation of such systems in different countries are only determined by the level of economic development of each particular state and the attitude of public authorities as related to the necessity of creating conditions for implementation of the same. It is shown that a strong legislative framework is created in Russia for transition to the digital economy, with research and applied developments available that are up to the international level. The following digital economy elements may be used today at enterprises for production of electrical and thermal energy: — dealing with large amounts of data (including operations exercised via cloud services and distributed data bases); — development of small scale distributed generation and its dispatching; — implementation of smart elements in both electric power and heat supply networks; — development of production process automation systems, remote monitoring and predictive analytics; 3D-modeling of parts and elements; real time mathematic simulation with feedback in the form of control actions; — creating centres for analytical processing of statistic data and accounting in financial and economic activities with business analytics functions, with expansion of communication networks and computing capacities. Examples are presented for implementation of smart systems in energy production and distribution. It is stated in the paper that state-of art information technologies are currently being implemented in Russia, new unique digital transformation projects are being launched in major energy companies. Yet, what is required is large-scale and thorough digitization and controllable energy production system as a multi-factor business process will provide the optimum combination of efficient economic activities, reliability and safety of power supply.
