This review focuses on the major factors affecting the efficacy of myopia control in patients wearing orthokeratology lenses (OKLs). Orthokeratology lenses have been proven to be effective for myopia control, however further efficacy comparisons between OKLs of standard and custom designs revealed that customization of parameters resulted in an increase of relative peripheral myopia in myopic patients regardless of their initial refractive error. Purpose: to systematize the data of the literature on the effectiveness of orthoceratological correction to control the progression of myopia. Methods. The analysis of publications on the resources PubMed, eLibrary, Cochrane, Cyberleninka is carried out. Results. According to the search results, the main factor saffecting the degree of control of myopia in patients using orthokeratological correction were highlighted. Conclusions. Evaluation of the anatomical and physiological parameters of patients, as well as development of customizable designs of OKLs for myopia control will allow for greater control over myopia progression in its early stages.

Trauma is one of the major causes of deaths worldwide. The referral time of trauma patients to the trauma center is a vital determinant of traumatic injury patients’ survival. Ambulance delays and crashes are the major causes of delay of patient transportation to the hospital. This review was conducted to find the main factors that cause ambulance crashes and ambulance delays; and discuss the correlation of both factors. Hence, the authors might suggest an appropriate solution to minimize ambulance delay and crash incidents. This integrative literature review applied the PRISMA-P protocol to ensure a robust literature search. A total of nine databases and publishers (i.e., PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, ASCE Library, Clinical Key, EBSCO, Cambridge, Taylor & Francis, and ProQuest) were searched using relevant keywords to obtain studies on ambulance delays and ambulance crashes. The literature search retrieved 620 studies to be screened based on the exclusion-inclusion criteria which finally resulted in the 12 studies included in the review. The researchers conducted a risk of bias assessment using Joanna Briggs Institute's critical appraisal tools. Data from the included studies were then extracted and analyzed using descriptive statistics to identify the factors affecting ambulance delays and crashes. After conducting an integrative literature review, the main factor that causes ambulance delays is traffic congestion. Meanwhile, the main factor causing ambulance crashes is intersection. Traffic congestion often occurs especially at intersections. The authors concluded that, intersections have a significant effect on ambulance delays and also ambulance crashes. To overcome this problem, the authors suggest to make an additional ambulance caution signal lamp on all congested intersections.

Aims To compare the value of pre-treatment axial elongation (AE) and changes in refractive sphere (M change) for predicting the success in orthokeratology (ortho-k), in order to better identify suitable candidates for myopia control. Methods This study further analysed the data of 66 subjects receiving 7-month ortho-k treatment, following a 7-month observation period, during which single-vision spectacles were worn. Rate of myopia progression was determined by AE and M change and subjects categorised as slow, moderate, or rapid progressors based on these changes. Outcomes of myopia control, based on the AE reduction after ortho-k, were classified as ‘ineffectual’, ‘clinically insignificant’, or ‘beneficial’. Results Of the 20 subjects, initially categorised as slow by AE and, of whom 95% were similarly categorised by M change, none benefitted from ortho-k. In contrast, of the 22 subjects with moderate AE, 77% and 23% displaying slow and moderate M change, respectively, the majority (73%) benefitted from ortho-k lens wear. The 24 subjects with rapid AE were poorly identified by M change, with only 21% correctly categorised. The vast majority of rapid progressors showed significant benefit after ortho-k. Conclusion Progression of AE is a good indicator of subsequent success of ortho-k treatment. Delaying commencement of therapy is prudent for children with slow progression as results indicate that they would be unlikely to benefit from this intervention. As change in refractive error frequently underestimates rapid progression of AE, its value for identifying appropriate candidates for myopia control is poor.

AbstractFour hundred myopic children randomly received atropine 0.02% (n = 138) or 0.01% (n = 142) in both eyes once-nightly or only wore single-vision spectacles (control group) (n = 120) for 2 years. Spherical equivalent refractive error (SER), axial length (AL), pupil diameter (PD), and amplitude of accommodation (AMP) were measured every 4 months. After 2 years, the SER changes were − 0.80 (0.52) D, − 0.93 (0.59) D and − 1.33 (0.72) D and the AL changes were 0.62 (0.29) mm, 0.72 (0.31) mm and 0.88 (0.35) mm in the 0.02% and 0.01% atropine groups and control group, respectively. There were significant differences between changes in SER and AL in the three groups (all P < 0.001). The changes in SER and AL in the 2nd year were similar to the changes in the 1st year in the three groups (all P > 0.05). From baseline to 2 years, the overall decrease in AMP and increase in PD were not significantly different in the two atropine groups, whereas the AMP and PD in the control group remained stable (all P > 0.05). 0.02% atropine had a better effect on myopia control than 0.01% atropine, and its effects on PD and AMP were similar to 0.01% atropine. 0.02% or 0.01% atropine controlled myopia progression and AL elongation synchronously and had similar effects on myopia control each year.

Suction is a routine action performed by nurses who work in a critical care setting. every patient who has decreased consciousness and installed a definitive air way will always get a suction action that is useful for keeping the airway free of mucus so that airway patency is maintained. The purpose of this literature review is to identify and summarize the results of research and books on factors that influence the effectiveness of suction. This study is a literature review that tries to find and explore more information about the effectiveness of suction. The method used in this literature review begins with topic selection, keyword determination to search journals through the Google Scholar, Ebscho, and Pro Quest databases. The articles used were 16 articles and 7 books. Literature search results obtained namely; factors affecting the effectiveness of suction are; assessment before performing suction, pre hyperoxygenation measures, effective suction pressure regulation, suction canule size must pay attention to the ETT diameter / size, suction action time 10-15 seconds for adults and 5 seconds for infants and children, suction techniques and must consider volume and mucus viscosity. The conclusion in conducting effective suction, nurses must pay attention to these 7 factors rather in the implementation of suction actions to be more effective and avoid unwanted side effects.

In the article the main factors affecting the concentration of formaldehyde in indoor air and the streets of Kyiv. The main factor influencing the concentration of formaldehyde in the air is a fire. In August and September 2015 exceeded the normal concentration of 1.2 -4 times. Seasonal cycle charting the course of the annual concentration of formaldehyde leads to the idea of seasonal factors that contribute to its fluctuations. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the analysis of indoor air is conducted only at the request and has no statistical nature. No information database created major factors pollution formaldehyde and not developed regulatory documents.

The quality of marriage gain the attention of researchers for a long time. Various studies have been done, by placing the marital quality as an independent variable or dependent variable. Although research on marital quality has been done for a long time with a wide range of variables, conceptually, the results are not quite satisfactory. This article aimed to describe literature review on the concept of marital quality. The literature search results define quality of marriage as the level of excellence in marriage based on certain characteristics. These particular characteristics or criteria may vary from region to region. The criteria for the quality of marriage may also differ from one period to another. The dimensions of marital quality vary widely, which can be distinguished into intrapersonal and interpersonal dimensions. Meanwhile, factors affecting the quality of marriage are differentiated into internal factors and factors related to the conjugal relationships.

Production and marketing of coffee use to be the major source of income to majority of households in Kogi State, Nigeria. Recently, it was discovered that coffee farmers are abandoning their coffee plots for other agricultural crops. The study therefore investigated the major factors affecting coffee production in Kabba, Kogi State, Nigeria to make appropriate recommendations. Purposive sampling method was used to sample major coffee producers in the State. Data was collected through the use of structured questionnaire, interviews and focus group discussion. About 70% of the coffe producers are smallholders with farm sizes ranging between 1 and 5 hectares. Forty percent of the coffee farmers informed that they have completely abandoned their coffee farms, while 60% have partially abandoned theirs. Most of the coffee plots are also old and farmers have suspended major cultural practices on their plots. The main factor contributing to abandonment of coffee farms includes poor pricing and marketing channel, especially at the international market. There is still high potential for robust production and marketing of coffee in Kogi State. This could be observed from the perception of the producers as well as well as favourable climatic conditions of the area. Regular training should be organized for the coffee producers on value addition to enhance marketing and facilitate good bargaining power.
