The importance of professional competence lies in the effective application of job-oriented knowledge and skills which guarantee one’s successful adaptation to the work. This study analyzes the perception of the importance of physical activity and sports (PAS) professionals’ competence in working with individuals with disabilities in Spain. As a descriptive quantitative study, face-to-face interviews were conducted through a survey to extract the data. The sample consisted of 214 PAS professionals working with people with disabilities. According to the results, the analyzed constituents of professional competence are important for adequate performance (>65%), with the exception of competences of leadership and use of new technologies (<50%). It was also found that the perceived importance of each element of professional competence varies according to age, experience and training. Based on the obtained results, the degree of importance of each constituent of professional competence and its implication for the access of people with disabilities to high-quality physical activity and sports services was determined.

Many individuals with disabilities are not physically active. Part of inactivity can be explained by the person’s disability. However, inactivity also may be the result of inequities, attitudes, and misconceptions by physical activity (PA) providers that makes it difficult for those with disabilities to successfully participate in sport, recreation, and fitness pursuits. The purpose of this paper is to examine disability through a social justice lens with specific reference to PA. Concepts of ableism, social justice, and how disability is defined will be explored with specific examples from PA. We conclude with suggestions on how to make PA providers aware of ableism, their biases, and how they define and view disability. This awareness will hopefully lead to changes in the willingness of PA providers to welcome those with disabilities into their programs and provide accommodations so that people with disabilities will be able to access PA.

This study is a comparative analysis of the impact of traditional face-to-face training contrasted with a blended learning approach, as it relates to improving skills, knowledge and attitudes for enhancing practices for achieving improved employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities. The study included two intervention groups: one participated exclusively in a half-day traditional face-to-face training program entitled Disability is Diversity; the other participated in both the traditional program and also accessed a series of additional online tutorials to reinforce knowledge translation. The pre-/post-analysis of participants indicated a statistically significant increase in knowledge and intentions of improving employment outcomes for people with disabilities across both groups. A six-month post-training follow-up provided important details about the continued impact of training on improving employment for individuals with disabilities. Specifically, participants who participated in the blended learning model were more likely to advocate the use of leading practices compared to those who attended only the traditional program. Thus, use of a blended learning model appears to increase capacity building of practicing professionals as they approach employment issues for people with disabilities as an issue of diversity, leading toward improved employment outcomes.

New technologies have offered great alternatives for education. In this context, we place robotics and programming as innovative and versatile tools that adapt to active methodologies. With the arrival of COVID-19 and lockdowns, physical resources were kept out of use, and the virtual lectures did not propose to incorporate these elements in a meaningful way. This recent situation raises as an objective of study the need to evaluate if robotics and programming are content that can be taught virtually in these circumstances, without physical resources and without face-to-face lectures. To do this, a mixed methodology consisting of questionnaires and interviews has been incorporated, aimed at primary education teachers, families, and primary education grade students. The results suggest that the virtualization of robotics and programming is a feasible and beneficial alternative for students, which allows the development of digital skills, while it is enhanced with the use of audiovisual materials and online resources. Even though face-to-face classes have other benefits not offered by virtualization, and teacher training needs to be up to the task to face this situation, it is a matter of time to respond to these situations and to guarantee a high-quality distance education.

Law No. 13,409 is published, which amends the previous one, including people with disabilities among their guardians. The dropout rate of these people in higher education is 27% (Inep, 2016). The UN Declaration on human rights education and training (2012) presents the constitutive frameworks of education (accessibility, acceptability, availability, adaptability). The research hypothesis is that the CCJS / UFCG has not guided its inclusive education in these constitutive milestones and this is one of the causes for students with disabilities to have difficulties in staying in their respective courses. The Comprehensive Interview (Kaufmann, 2013) will be used as a data collection instrument, not yet applied in the field, due to the suspension of face-to-face classes, in view of the worsening of the covid-19 pandemic and the initial phase of the research.

Abstract The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) is an Irish amateur sporting and cultural organisation. It represents in excess of 20,000 teams nationwide and is committed to supporting the development of players and coaches through its Coach Education Programme (CEP). A strategic goal of the CEP is to supplement the traditional field based coach education model with a blended learning approach using online multimedia resources. Two eLearning professionals employed by the GAA are seeking to develop online resources to enhance the knowledge and skills of coaches nationwide. Whilst both professionals possess the expertise and relevant technical skills to create high quality resources, their participation in a Masters in Education and Training Management (eLearning) programme in the Institute of Education, Dublin City University (DCU) is ensuring that the multimedia resources will be based on solid pedagogical insights in order to facilitate the organisation’s move to online learning.

Abstract. The European Diploma in Psychology defines a common European standard for the competences required to practice as a psychologist. This paper describes how that standard was developed and defined, and why it was considered important to bring together the traditional input-based specification of professional competence, in terms of curriculum and training course content, with a more outcome-oriented approach that focuses on the competences that a professional psychologist needs to demonstrate in practice. The paper addresses three specific questions. What are the competences that a psychologist should possess? Are these competences the same for all areas of practice within professional psychology? How can these competences be assessed?

The article discusses the possibilities of automation of legal activities. Special attention is paid to the new branch of the business LegalTech, which allows providing legal services using information technology. Some projects in this area are briefly described: FreshDoc document designer, VideoContract app, and electronic trading platforms such as Legal Space and Pravoved.Ru. Although the legal community is not quite ready to work in such conditions, higher education institutions are already reforming their curricula, developing disciplines that allow gaining professional competence in introducing technologies that automate legal work, and so on. The author, in turn, offers using chat bots in legal clinics, gives examples of new disciplines for master’s degree programs, considers the idea of passing final examinations outside universities in certification centers, etc. It is emphasized that in jurisprudence there are a lot of typical situations in which typical decisions need to be made, and here artificial intelligence will be a good helper, and scientists will have more time to undertake a comprehensive analysis of law. Thus, even with the advent of new technologies, the creative work of lawyers will always be in demand.
