Objective: To explore the underlying mechanism of the impact of perceived stress on anxiety of the Chinese college students during the COVID-19 epidemic. Methods: The Perceived Stress Scale, Irrational Belief Scale, and General Anxiety Scale were adopted in the current study. College students were randomly selected for online questionnaire survey. There were 1,598 valid questionnaires, and the proportion of women was 47.81%.Results: The perceived stress and anxiety, as well as the three dimensions of irrational beliefs (catastrophizing, low frustration tolerance, and depreciation) were significantly positively correlated; demandingness was not significantly correlated with anxiety. Further analysis found that the perceived stress had a significant positive predictive effect on the anxiety of college students. Catastrophizing, low frustration tolerance, and depreciation played part of the mediating role, and there was no significant difference in the strength of these mediating roles. Conclusion: The perceived stress of the COVID-19 epidemic had a positive effect on the anxiety of Chinese college students, this was partly mediated by irrational beliefs.

College students are the main group of sports consumption in the future. Therefore, it is very important to understand the motivation of college students' sporting goods consumption and evaluate the importance and satisfaction of college students' purchase behavior of sporting goods. Currently, there are mainly three evaluation methods based on satisfaction, such as SERVQUAL model (service quality) proposed by Parasuraman A in 1985, the SERVPERF model (service performance) proposed by Cronin and Taylor in 1992, and the IPA (Important Performance Analysis) proposed by Martilla and James (1977). The IPA method used matrix coordinates to identify the important factors considered by consumers and the degree of consumer satisfaction with these factors, forming four quadrants of superiority, maintenance, improvement, and disadvantaged areas, thereby judging the elements that should be concentrated and prioritized for improvement. IPA analysis is widely used in many fields such as in tourism (Duke & Persia, 1996; Deng, 2007; Hudson et al., 2004; Oh, 2001; Wade & Eagles, 2003), in education (Alberty & Mihalik, 1989; Ortinau et al., 1989), in sports services (Kwon & Chung, 2018; Antonio Rial et al., 2008; Erjuan & Bingshu, 2016; Meng, 2018). Therefore, this article used the IPA analysis method to study 386 Chinese college students who participated in the consumption of sporting goods. The data were analyzed by frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis and Importance-Performance Analysis using SPSS. The results of this study were as follows. First, the motivation of college students' sports goods consumption is divided into three dimensions such as conspicuousness, practicality, and individuality. Among them, the conspicuous factor is related to student age, grade, monthly allowance, and brand awareness. Second, the pre-consumption importance and post-consumption satisfaction are divided into six dimensions such as environment, function, price, after-sales, design, and brand. Among the important dimensions considered before consumption, female believe that the consumption environment and product functions are more important than male. Compared with non-sports students, sports majors think brand is more important than normal brand. In terms of domestic and foreign brand recognition, LiNing and Nike are considered the most wanted brands. In the post-consumption satisfaction dimension, students are more satisfied with the environment, function, and brand. Third, pre-consumption importance and post-consumption satisfaction are statistically significant difference (p = 0.000). The IPA analysis showed that marketers should continue to maintain their product design advantages and focus on improving the convenience of after-sales service and consumer environmental sanitation conditions to better meet the needs of different college students.

Nowadays, short-form video applications have become increasingly popular due to their strong appeal to people, especially among college students. With this trend, the phenomenon of short-form video application addiction (SVA) also become prominent, which is a great risk for individuals’ health and adaptation. Against this background, the present study aimed to examine the association between perceived stress and SVA addiction, as well as its mechanism—the mediating role of self-compensation motivation (SCM) and the moderating role of shyness. A total of 896 Chinese college students was recruited to complete a set of questionnaires on perceived stress (PS), SCM, shyness, and short-form video applications. The results show that PS was positively associated with SVA, and SCM partially mediated this association. In addition, both the direct association between PS and SVA and the indirect effect of SCM were moderated by shyness and were stronger for individuals with higher levels of shyness. The results could not only deepen our understanding of the underlying factors of SVA but also provide suggestions for relevant prevention and intervention procedures.

Although perceived stress has been shown to play an important role in insomnia, little is known about the mediating and moderating mechanisms underlying this relation. In particular, the outbreak of COVID-19 has undoubtedly had a significant impact on the physical and mental health of college students. The present study focused on Chinese college students during the COVID-19 pandemic and examined the mediating role of sense of security between perceived stress and insomnia and the moderating role of family cohesion. Chinese college students (N = 1,187) completed the measures of perceived stress, sense of security, insomnia, and family cohesion. The results indicated that perceived stress was significantly and positively associated with insomnia, and sense of security partially mediated this relation. Moderated mediation analysis further indicated that family cohesion moderated the relation between perceived stress and sense of security. This relation became weaker for college students with higher levels of family cohesion. Results highlight the significance of identifying the mechanisms that moderate the mediate paths between perceived stress and college students’ insomnia.

Cyberloafing has increasingly attracted the attention of scholars because of the widespread use of digital devices in educational environments. This research was conducted to investigate the roles of fatigue and negative coping styles in mediating the relationship between perceived stress and cyberloafing. A total of 730 undergraduates (reduced to 716 due to incomplete data) completed self-report questionnaires measuring perceived stress, fatigue, negative coping styles, and cyberloafing. Perceived stress was shown to be a significant predictor of cyberloafing. Furthermore, negative coping styles played a unique mediating role and fatigue and negative coping styles exerted a sequential mediating effect on the association between perceived stress and cyberloafing. We envision the findings as being helpful in guiding educators develop interventions for minimizing cyberloafing by college students and its disrupting effects.

This study investigated the impact of a 15-week outdoor experiential program on the moral reasoning of college students. One hundred and ninety-six university students volunteered to participate in this study, which utilized Rest's (1979) Defining Issues Test (DIT). The DIT investigates how individuals arrive at making decisions, and formulates a “P” (Principled moral reasoning) score for each subject. The groups were found to be homogeneous in moral reasoning at the pretest (outdoor experiential x = 36.07; control x = 33.08; F = 0.05). There was a statistically significant difference on the posttest scores of the outdoor experiential program participants (x = 40.98) in relation to the control group (x = 34.14) (F = 3.84). The results of this study demonstrated that the outdoor experiential program participants were significantly different from the control group at posttest. It is postulated that even though improved moral reasoning was not a stated objective, the outdoor experiential students, through front-loading, reflection, critical thinking, problem solving, and adherence to the full value contract, did enhance their level of moral reasoning. Through the combined modeling of behavior and discussion, changes in behavior can occur. The nature of outdoor experiential programs seems well suited to positively influence moral and ethical reasoning.

The lecture is the primary method of instructional presentation in secondary schools. Unfortunately, many students with short attention spans, low frustration tolerance, limited impulse control, and other behavioral disorders find difficulty acquiring and maintaining information delivered via the lecture format. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of an instructional pause procedure on the English grammar performance of 8th and 9th grade students with severe behavioral disorders. Specifically, the author investigated whether instruction incorporating a modification of Rowe's Pause Procedure resulted in correct identification of verbs on English worksheets. The results show at least moderate increases in verb identification in 7 of the 8 students participating in the procedure. Additionally, evidence of response generalization (mixed verb production) shows a statistically significant difference following verb identification training.

Employees are one of the key resources involved in building of corporate reputation. The efficiency of employees is reflected in the corporate reputation and depends on the development of the employer brand. The concept of the employer brand is aimed at building the image of attractive employer in the labor market and implies providing functional, psychological and economic benefits for potential and current employees. The aim of this paper is to examine the interdependence of the employer brand dimensions and the corporate reputation of the observed hotels in the Republic of Serbia. The research involved the application of correlation analysis, regression analysis and non-parametric tests to check the differences between groups. In the paper are observed three dimensions of the employer brand: functional-economic value, social value and interest value. It is proved and the presence of a positive and statistically significant correlation between the dimensions of the employer brand and the corporate reputation of the observed hotels. Based on the processed data, the influence of the dimensions of the employer brand on the corporate reputation of the hotel has been proven, with the strongest influence on the social value and functional-economic value. Non-parametric tests did not reveal a statistically significant difference in the level of development of the employer's brand dimensions between different categories of hotels.
