The desire to reduce the negative impact of crops on the environment, as well as the growing concern for consumer health, is increasing interest in organic fruit production. In this context, the development of new environmentally friendly agrotechnical methods which allows for reducing the use of organic fertilizers by improving the nutrient use efficiency and consequently decreasing the leaching of them is a task of a great importance. The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of mycorrhizal arbuscular fungi (AMF) combined with plant-growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) on growth and nutritional status of apple trees cultivated on a silty-loam, rich in clay minerals and humus soil under organic farming conditions. Thus, a trial was established in an experimental orchard in Wilanów in Central Poland with three cultivars (‘Topaz’, ‘Odra’, and ‘Chopin’) and a promising clone, U 8869. Trees were or were not inoculated with AMF + PGPR within a split-block experimental design with four replicates. According to the results, mycorrhizal frequency obtained in the inoculated tree roots was on average two-fold higher than in the roots of the control plants. After four years of AMF + PGPR inoculation, 24% higher trunk cross-section area (TCSA) was observed, with the nitrogen and magnesium concentrations in leaves increasing, on average, by 7.8% and 64.2%, and phosphorus and potassium content decreasing by 37.2% and 46.5%, respectively. This study shows that using AMF + PGPR inoculum supports tree roots colonization by AMF. As a result, better nitrogen nutrition status is observed that promote vigorous growth of trees and more efficient uptake of magnesium from the bulk soil. On the other hand, lower phosphorus content in inoculated tree leaves might be explained by a dilution effect, and potassium decrease could occur as a result of fungus–plant competition in conditions of this element deficiency in soil.

The nutrition status of population in the district of Aceh was considered as a public health problem. The malnutrition of under five year children such as wasting, stunting and underweight has brought a negative impact on the health of the community. Malnutrition was –among other factors - influenced by family characteristic such as weight and height of the parents. The study was conducted in Aceh Besar. It used cross-sectional design with the sample of 300 households with child aged under five years old . The research used secondary and primary data of PSG Aceh 2015. Data was obtained through documentation study and processed through data editing, coding, transferring and tabulating. The data was analyzed by univariate and bivariate using chi-square test. The result has shown that there were relationship between height and weight of the parents with nutritional status of the children using indicators of WFH and HFA (p<0,05). However, it was not true for the mother’s weight (p>0,05). Weight and height of the fathers shown the relationship (p<0,05) with nutritional status (WFA) of the children, but not for the mother's weight and height (p>0,05). In conclusion, the acute and chronic nutritional problems in the district of Aceh Besar were influenced by anthropometric status of the parents, especially the weight and height of the father. It was recommended that improvement of nutritional problems should be done through a direct approach such as growth monitoring, counseling on exclusive breastfeeding, providing of vitamin A and intensified efforts on changing of clean and healthy behavior.ABSTRAK Kabupaten Aceh mempunyai permasalahan kesehatan berdasarkan situasi status gizi. Balita mengalami malnutirisi seperti wasting, stunting dan underweight yang berdampak terhadap masalah kesehatan. Malnutrisi terjadi akibat keadaan gizi mapun faktor keturunan dari orang tua. The European Green Deal strategy currently implemented in the EU aims to, among others, reduce the negative impact of fertilization on the environment. One of the solutions influencing the nutritional status of plants and the improvement of soil quality is the use of plant symbiosis with microorganisms. Thus, in this study we investigated the effect of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMFs) and plant-growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) colonization on the nutritional status of apple leaves and fruit, depending on the nitrogen treatment. In a fully factorial experiment, trees were grown for nine years with or without AMFs and PGPR. We compared several ammonium nitrate treatments as well as growth without fertilization as a control. The interactions between inoculation and doses of nitrogen fertilization were observed. AMF + PGPR significantly increased the concentration of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) in leaves up to 5%, 23%, and 19%, respectively, depending on the N dosage. Conversely, in uninoculated trees, the nitrogen treatment had a negative impact on the leaf P mineral status. On the other hand, under microbial inoculation conditions, the dose of 100 kg N∙ha−1 diminished the leaf phosphorus content in comparison to other N doses, by a maximum of 9.6%. AMF + PGPR, depending on the N treatment, either did not influence or it decreased the Mg and Ca concentrations in the leaves by maximums of 8% and 15%, respectively. Microbial inoculation had no effect on the acquisition of Ca and Mg by fruits, except for the coupled negative influence of the 100 kg N∙ha−1 treatment. Symbiosis positively conditioned the K in fruits under a specific N regime—100 kg N∙ha−1 divided into two applications during the season and 50 kg N∙ha−1 applied to the herbicide strip, increasing the concentration by approximately 4% and 8%, respectively. This study greatly contributes to our understanding of the benefits of AMF and PGPR on perennials and encourages the future exploration of their effects on apple yield and fruit quality.

Background: Nurse is a profession that cannot be separated from the problem of work fatigue. Fatigue due to work will have a negative impact on work such as decreased accuracy, skill, and even work productivity. If this happens to nurses, it can put the patient at risk, decreasing the quality of service. Work fatigue is caused by several factors, such as worker characteristics, namely age, sex, education, nutritional status, and work environment factors (Tarwaka, 2013). Nurses have a fairly heavy duty in assisting emergency services and nursing services continuously for 24 hours so that nurses sometimes eat irregularly which can cause nutritional conditions to be disturbed (Astuti, Ekawati, & Wahyuni, 2017). Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between age, nutritional status and subjective work fatigue in inpatient nurses at dr. M Yunus Bengkulu. Methods: The research design was an analytic survey with a cross sectional approach. The population of this study were 128 nurses in the inpatient room with total sampling technique. The data collection instrument is a work fatigue feeling questionnaire consisting of 17 questions adopted from (Setyawati, 2010) which has tested the validity and reliability in her book entitled at a glance about work fatigue, a nutritional status questionnaire by taking physical measurements of body weight and height to determine BMI, and age questionnaire with units of years. Data analysis used chi square test with 95% degree of error if p-value ≤ 0.05 indicates a significant relationship and if > 0.05 is not significant. Results: This study shows that there is no relationship between age and subjective work fatigue on nurses with a p-value = 0.107 > α = 0.05. And there is a relationship between nutritional status and subjective work fatigue on nurses with a p-value = 0.000 > α = 0.05. Conclusion: Work fatigue that occurs in nurses is expected to be an important concern, nurses should maintain a healthy body by consuming balanced nutritious food and diligent exercise and adequate rest, so as to reduce the risk of fatigue due to work. Keywords: Age, Nutrition Status, Work Fatigue.

Abstract Objectives Malnutrition is frequently observed in patients with chronic lung disease, having important clinical outcome. Several factors have been identified in its development, such as age, disease severity, muscle dysfunction, reduced physical activity and dietary intake. This retrospective observational study investigated the nutritional factors that affect the mortality in patients with chronic lung disease. Methods The subjects of this study were hospitalized patients, consulted to dietetics and nutrition services team with history of treatment for lung diseases within the last three months. We collected data, anthropometric measurements, handgrip strength, dietary intake, nutritional status, blood samples, 90-day readmission and survival using an electrical medical record(EMR). Nutritional status was assessed using Consensus of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS, version 21. Results Total subjects were 76 patients (44 males, 32 females) and their mean age was 63.4, mean BMI 19.96 kg/m2, mean energy and protein intake 1395 kcal/day, 56.8 g/day, respectively. Only twenty-eight % of the patients was adequate nutrition status, thirty-four % died by the date of observation. Energy and protein intake of non-survivors were significantly lower than that of survivors (21.95 ± 7.43 kcal/kg vs. 30.37 ± 9.46 kcal/kg; P < 0.001, 0.90 ± 0.33 g vs. 1.22 ± 0.38 g; P = 0.001, respectively). But there was no significant difference in body weight, BMI, TSF, MAMC, HGS, nutritional status. In Cox proportional hazard model multivariate analysis, 90-day readmission was a variable that increased mortality (HR 3.760, 95% CI 1.594–8.867; P = 0.0025). On the other hand, energy intake ≥25 kcal/kg (HR 0.299, 95% CI 0.129–0.694; P = 0.005) and protein intake ≥0.8 g/kg (HR 0.179, 95% CI 0.073–0.436; P < 0.001) has been shown to be a variable that decreases mortality. Conclusions In patients with chronic lung disease, low energy and protein intake can have a negative impact on mortality, so adequate energy and protein intake in these patients are very important. E.P. Meinecke, a noted plant pathologist and staunch supporter of conservation, authored an influential article about the impacts of tourism on redwood trees. In the Effect of Excessive Tourist Travel on the California Redwood Parks, published in 1929, Meinecke found that soil compaction by tourists had a negative impact on tree roots and his recommendations for amelioration were both logical and laced with philosophical ideals. We revisit that report with a modern perspective by reviewing his findings and suggestions, and by comparing his ideas with modern research and tourism management practices. One of Meinecke’s greatest concerns was the advent of the automobile and its ability to bring more people to redwood groves. We take that concern to the next logical step and discuss potential impacts of climate change on redwood trees.
