The use of film within the context of the classroom may generate great interest from teachers and students. From the point of view of Geography and History classes, it can provide indications to analyse and understand spaces, times and societies reflected in the images. It can be used as an object to be explored in teaching-learning context, in several teaching levels. In this text it is intended to reflect, from a theoretical point of view, on the relation between movie and history, considering the film as an analysis object and investigation instrument, as well as builder of historic environments and landscapes.

The pandemic situation at the beginning of March 2020 forced teachers to develop alternative teaching methods, and most important to find the best ways to keep teaching for every student no matter the situation, as for example, the lack of computer knowledge or hardware/software support. Teachers worldwide struggled to support, encourage, find the best ways not only to help students to keep learning but support them emotionally. At the end of the academic year, teachers made efforts to develop fair, appropriate evaluation procedures adapted to distance education. This paper summarizes the Distance Teaching-Learning-Evaluation (DTLE) evolution in Russia and Romania and some methods developed from March to December 2020 to support the educational activity. Some benefits, challenges and difficulties are identified during the same period of time in different DTLE scenarios, from the point of view of teachers and students, as well. Examples of new adapted methods, dedicated to the DTLE scenarios are al-so addressed in this work.

The HISPACAT database of syntactic constructions in Catalan and Spanish is a dynamic comparative grammar of two closely related languages, which, from a theoretical point of view, offers us a alternative viewpoint to advance in our understanding of the ``atoms'' of linguistic microvariation, and to offer a snapshot of microparametric (in)variance, which will help us to predict less stable parts of the grammar, and hence more sensitive to syntactic change or interference phenomena. Moreover, this tool, which is conceived as a major empirical source for testing syntactic microvariation, may also prove helpful for researchers in bilingualism and language contact studies, and for teachers and students of Catalan or Spanish as L2.

As the means of transferring knowledge between teachers and students, coursebooks play a significant role in educational practices all over the world. Evaluation of coursebooks is also of great significance as it manages to a better understanding of the nature of a specific teaching/learning situation. The present study is an attempt to evaluate Total English coursebook from both Iranian EFL learners and teachers perspectives. Ninety three students and 20 teachers participated in this study. Fifty one of the students and 11 of the teachers were male and 42 of the students and nine of the teachers were female. The range of teachers' experience of teaching the coursebook was between 2-4 years and the range of students' experience of studying the coursebook was between 1-3 years. The data collection took place in three language institutes of Gilan and Mazandaran provinces. The coursebook, evaluated based on modified version of Cunningsworth's (1995) checklist, was the intermediate level of Total English. It was evaluated by both students and teachers based on administering written questionnaires. In order to triangulate the gathered data, 25 percent of the teachers and 10 percent of the students attended an interview session. Data analysis indicated that strength of Total English from teachers' perspective was culture and from students' point of view were visuals as well as practice and testing. Moreover, from students' perspective, the primary shortcoming of the coursebook was phonology.

One shows that a set theoretical approach to categorical syllogisms is much more natural than the“figures, moods and rules of the syllogism approach”. (The latter satisfies “Aristotle's requirementthat the middle term M should not appear in the conclusion. Striker, 2009. ) In the “set approach”one deals with the eight 3-set intersections that span a universal set U: U=MSP+MS'P+MSP'+MS'P'+M'SP+M'S'P+M'SP'+M'S'P', where S,P,M are the usual categorical terms (interpreted nowas sets) appearing in the wording of the pairs of categorical premises (PCPs) and of the logicalconclusions (LCs) which the PCPs might entail; the union of disjoints sets is denoted by a + sign;MSP:= M∩S∩P, etc.; S',P',M' are the categorical terms non-S, non-P, non-M,, now interpreted asthe complementary sets in U of the S,P,M, respectively. In this model of categorical syllogisms, when using a cylindrical Venn diagram, (Marquand 1881), (Veitch 1952), (Karnaugh 1953), it isself-evident that if a PCP entails an LC at all, (and thus generates a valid categorical argument(VCA), then the LC singles out one and only one of the 8 subsets of U, and affirms about it eitherthat it is non-empty, or, that one of the sets S,P,M,S',P',M' is empty except, possibly, the subset whichthe LC singled out. Thus the middle term M, or its complementary M', are very much part of theLC. (Of course, to satisfy Aristotle's requirement that M should not appear in the LC, an LC of thefirst type, e.g., SPM≠Ø, may be re-written, with some loss of “intuitive information”, as I(S,P), andan LC of the second type, e.g., S=SPM, may be re-written as A(S,P).) The valid syllogisms (VSs) arethose VCAs whose LCs can be re-written in the “(S,P)-format”, i.e., one of the categoricaloperators A,O,E,I is applied to the ordered pair (S,P). After the “middle term elimination”, the LCsof the VCA\VS set are of the I(S',P'), A(P,S), or O(P,S) type. It is easy to see that there are fiveclasses of PCPs – two do not entail LCs, and three do, thus generating three distinct VCA classes.Inside each VCA class, via a relabeling transformation of the sets S,P,M, S',P',M', any of the VCA(or VS) can be recast (or reformulated) as any other VCA from the same class. This “namingcovariance” suggests that, at least from a set theoretical point of view, (i) the (S,P)-format LCrestriction is not meaningful, and (ii) one may consider that there are only three distinct VCAs (andVSs), chosen as any one representative per VCA class; for example, one may choose asrepresentatives Darapti, Darii and Barbara – all the other VCAs (not only VSs) maybe written, using appropriately chosen terms, as either a Darapti, Darii or Barbara VS. There are alwaysrelabelings transforming any VCA from the VCA\VS set into a VS. The role of VCA relabelings issimilar to the role of “reduction of syllogisms” (the latter was applied only to the VSs).

The educational strategies implemented within the classroom arise from the needs that are presented in the same environment where their academic activities are developed. teacher has the leading role to strengthen their knowledge. From this point of view, the ABP seeks to develop in students a new learning model that enhances their abilities and promotes the development of their abilities. The objective of the research was to analyze the incidence of Problem-Based Learning in teachers and students of Basic General Education, surveys were applied to teachers, as a source of primary information, in the same way the deductive, bibliographic, descriptive and historical method Through this methodological process, it was possible to develop in a more feasible way the research with the study of several authors, with the collection and analysis of the information it was obtained as a result that the teachers through the contextualization of their practice focused on the use of methodological strategies allow solving situations from a simple to complex case study, as well as ensuring that the student encourages different ways of learning from their own experiences.

In this article one reports the production of the educational documentary titled “thermal ceiling/roof project”, which approaches an interdisciplinary work developed in a public state school in the city of São José do Rio Preto, SP. This documentary was made through the Teaching Centers of the Sao Paulo State University (UNESP) during the year 2016. The previous year, in 2015, students, teachers and administrators of this public school carried out a campaign to collect milk boxes for construction of a thermal ceiling/roof in the school courtyard, since the heat in this environment surpassed 42o Celsius in some days during the summer. Through the development of the project, high school and elementary school teachers and students have explored, from a practical and theoretical point of view, curricular contents related to the Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Portuguese Language disciplines. With the construction of the thermal ceiling/roof were collected 15,000 milk boxes and the heat in the courtyard decreased up to 8o Celsius. One concludes by monitoring the development of the project and the reports of teachers, students, administrators and members of the school community, that the project was significant from a curricular point of view - National Curricular Parameters - and that documentary production was socially important for dissemination of the didactic-pedagogical-environmental initiative of the school and for the learning of the participants.
This article makes an analysis of the pedagogical teaching practices used and developed by Chilean physical education teachers during the coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) pandemic periods. The virus from China spread around the world, changed our daily lives and as such, at the same time impacted the educational system in a matter of weeks. Confinement led educational systems to eliminate face-to-face and use virtual teaching in order to continue with the teaching-learning processes, including the physical education discipline. From the methodological point of view, the study is installed in the interpretive-qualitative perspective, in such a way that 14 semi-structured interviews were carried by physical education teachers from the Maule-Chile region, via team, Zoom, Skype, because of the pandemic, face-to-face contact was impossible. The result of the study shows the impact on the quality of life of teachers and students because of the confinement. The pedagogical reconfiguration that teachers experienced in a matter of days, led them to use different virtual platforms to continue connected with their students, in order to deploy the learning objectives defined by the Chilean Ministry of Education. However, the foregoing shows the scarce possibility of verifying student learning, due to the difficulties of monitoring and feedback.

Textbooks provide an indispensable framework on which teachers and students build upon. Evaluation on its part, is a dynamic process which investigates the suitability and appropriateness of an existing practice. It is a useful device for both teachers and material writers as an underlying element in the development of innovations and modifications within the teaching/learning context. Therefore, it is obvious that textbook evaluation constitutes a crucial factor in addressing cumulative deficiencies associated with our teaching/learning institution in general and in our English Language Teaching endeavours. It has been observed that Mastering English series pose several problems to both teachers and learners of English language in Cameroon. This article sets out to investigate the Mastering English series with a focus on the students’ book 5 to find out the extent to which the book aligns with the stipulations of the CBA in Cameroon. The analysis in this study was predicated on the hypothesis that Mastering English book 5 needs great improvement to really meet both the needs of learners and the requirement of the CBA. Both the theoretical and empirical findings reveal general misgivings about Mastering English book 5 and the implementation of the CBA in the context of Cameroon.

The worldwide pandemic situation faced by the education sector presented unprecedented challenges for teachers and students in every subject, in particular, PE teachers. The teaching process was transformed from open environments, practical field instructions, to those of online platforms, with virtual instructions and demonstrations. The aim of the study is to present a theoretical overview of the online teaching of the PE subject, as well as evidence of the level of motivation and involvement of students in online teaching not only in theoretical but also practical subjects. The methodology of the study is based on a review of recent scientific articles, as well as a meta-analysis of the current situation on student involvement in online teaching, conducted and obtained from a recent quantitative database on the psychological and pedagogical aspects of online teaching. From a theoretical point of view, some researchers approve of the fact that to help teachers conceive the integration of online PE teaching with the comprehensive school curriculum of this subject, it is assumed that PE programs based on standards can serve to promote PA for all young people in school, community and home environments with the support of online teaching tools. From the quantitative data obtained from the current situation, it results that most students have had easily accessible access to these online platforms, especially in theoretical subjects. As conclusion affirms that due to the close cooperation online learning for most students in Albanian universities was easily applicable to any school curriculum.
