The aim of this study was to identify any personal factors that may facilitate the initial transfer of learning among students taking a permanent online ICT training course for teaching staff. Some deductive categories were created based on previous studies, and with the help of the NVivo software and its triangulation, a qualitative analysis of the three data sources—two reflective training activities completed by the subjects and an interview—was used to determine the relevance of some of the identified personal characteristics in the transfer process occurring within the context of distance techno-pedagogical training. Among them, we highlight four relevant ideas for transfer in the context: participants’ motivation to innovate in their classes with the use of technologies; self-efficacy, characterized as confidence acquired by the subjects to carry out online training; previous training and professional experiences; and the analysis of their training needs in relation to the critical and reflective use of ICT. We also confirmed that the favourable reaction of the subjects to these factors can serve as an indicator of a possible transfer and that online ICT training should continue to seek to design activities that have positive results in relation to these aspects.

This study explored the idea that motivation for learning can be a process as well as a product: the product being an active state of motivation whereas the process would include the antecedents that created that state. This hypothesis was tested by interviewing 47 university students immediately after normal lectures. Results showed that 89% had experienced an active state of motivation (the product phase) that was influenced by antecedents that included personal characteristics (e.g., self-efficacy, individual interest), temporal personal factors (mood, fatigue), and contextual factors (teacher enthusiasm and “interestingness”). It was concluded that process-product is a potentially useful framework for conceptualizing motivation.

The article aims at studying the specifics of the psychological and pedagogical competence of future engineers in the structure of the educational process and in relation to the use of innovative and effective educational technologies. At present, the general issues of humanization and pedagogical and methodological support of the educational process are of great importance in light of the need to increase the academic mobility of university graduates who choose to work at universities. The problem of insufficient level of their psychological and pedagogical competence development arises automatically. Psychological and pedagogical competence of a graduate means his (her) ability to mastering the basic material of the psychological and pedagogical unit, the ability to operate the acquired knowledge and put it into practice, mastering acquired skills in the conditions of concrete professional and pedagogical activity. This problem has several solutions. One of the most effective is the possibility of developing and introducing the programmes of advanced psychological and pedagogical training and professional retraining for future engineers specializing in engineering pedagogy. The purpose of the article is to view the effective approaches to the development of psychological and pedagogical competences among future engineers. The authors consider using of the modern IT-technologies to be a strong motivator in this process as well as gamification (role games and business games). As the key tasks of the teaching staff at technical university the following issues are regarded: creation of conditions for the disclosure by future engineers of their professional and personal resources; obtaining by future engineers the information necessary to increase the level of their psychological and pedagogical competence; acquisition of skills necessary for knowledge application in future professional activity; expanding the range of professional competencies of future engineers in the conditions of psychological and pedagogical design. One of the most important aspects of teacher’s activity is reflection, self-evaluation. The authors present teachers’ behavior patterns for reflection and formulate the recommendations for teaching future engineering teachers. Thus, the specificity of training future engineers with the focus on increasing their psychological and pedagogical competence is a complex multi-faceted process, specially organized in time and space, involving consideration of certain psychological and pedagogical, methodological and methodical patterns and aimed at developing professional qualifications of future engineering pedagogues.

Abstract.EXPLORA QUESTIONNAIRE FOR VOCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCEThe guidance and career counseling are increasingly needed in our educational system to the extent that career decision making is seen as an increasingly complex process that is affected by personal factors ( questions , immaturity , indecision, preparation and information of our students ) and contextual factors ( situation of the labor market , globalization , increased specialization and elective subjects , modification training routes , creation of new degrees , ...). From this perspective it is necessary that professional counseling and educational and vocational guidance have the precise tools to stimulate the development of vocational maturity of our young people they can get to make effective decisions realistic and mature. The aim of this paper is to present the psychometric characteristics of the EXPLORA, Questionnaire for Vocational Guidance. The EXPLORA assesses six professional fields (Technical- Manual , Scientific - Investigative, Artistic , Creative , Social - Assistive, Persuasive Business - and Office- Management ), which correspond to the types and environmental models of the theory of Holland ( 1997) , taking into account the interests , skills and personal characteristics of the individuals . In order to assess its psychometric properties was applied to a sample of 3570 subjects from different educational levels. The reliability of the scales measured by Cronbach ‘s alpha coefficient ranged between 0.92 and 0.94 . The different procedures used to test its construct validity and criterial evidence the suitability of the instrument to the theoretical model on which it is based. The results allow us to conclude that this instrument has sufficient scientific and technical assurance processes for application in orientation and vocational counseling.Keyword: Vocational interest assessment, vocational guidance, vocational counseling, career decision making, vocational choiceResumen. For some time, special education has been plagued by shortages of qualified teaching staff and by high turnover rates for these staff. While several factors—external, employment and personal—are largely responsible for this situation, the research demonstrates that the initial professional experiences of early career teachers are closely associated with their longevity in the field. This paper reviews the literature on mentoring support for beginning teachers, mentoring models and the use of information technologies in mentoring support. The paper concludes with recommendations for methods of support for Australian early career special-education teachers.

AbstractIndividuals with primary progressive aphasia (PPA) and their caregivers are at risk for decreased quality of life (QoL) due to their progressive condition. Aphasia camps are an intervention that can improve QoL, yet individuals with PPA are underrepresented at aphasia camps relative to those with poststroke aphasia. The purpose of this exploratory case study was to examine the effect of participation in aphasia camp on the QoL of a couple impacted by PPA. The Living with Aphasia: Framework for Outcome Measurement (A-FROM) was used to guide a semistructured interview with an individual with PPA and her spouse, both of whom had attended the Alberta Aphasia Camp for 4 years. Conventional content analysis with an inductive approach was used to analyze results. Concepts that emerged from the interview were organized into pre-camp, during, and post-camp categories. Aspects of camp that had an effect on post-camp QoL for this couple with PPA included expanding social connections and introduction to new activities. Personal characteristics exhibited by the couple had an impact on their experience of aphasia camp and how they incorporated their experiences into their everyday lives post-camp. Aphasia camps are a participation-based service approach that can benefit people with aphasia regardless of etiology. A consideration of personal factors of potential campers with PPA, and the provision of PPA-specific resources, is recommended for programs such as aphasia camps that incorporate participants with mixed etiologies.

The article is devoted to the role of classical university education in the training of highly qualified, highly competitive teaching staff capable of forming the image of a new school in modern conditions. The achievement of such a complex task is ensured by identifying and implementing the heuristic capabilities of a classical university in the development of pedagogical education. The author associates such opportunities with its fundamentalization, research orientation, advanced character, etc. The purpose of the article is to present the results of a scientific study related to the definition and theoretical justification of possible ways to implement models of teacher education as an optimal “scenario” for training elite teachers in a classical university. Methodology and methods of research. The methodological basis of the research is the philosophical provisions about a person as a subject of his own life activity; the unity and interrelation of processes and phenomena, general and special. The general methodology of the research is represented by a system-synergetic approach that allows us to consider professional and pedagogical training in a classical university as an open developing system in the “school-university-school”continuity relations; a holistic approach as a methodological orientation towards the formation of a holistic personality of a future teacher, as well as the integrity of the system of professional and pedagogical training at a classical university; an individual-personal approach that provides an opportunity to study along an individual educational trajectory. The main research methods were the analysis of scientific literature, theoretical generalization and modeling. The results of the study. As a result of the theoretical and experimental work carried out, it is proved that the quintessence of the heuristic capabilities of the classical university determines the development and implementation of innovative models for the development of pedagogical education. The author gives a description of each model, indicating its features and “contribution” to the training of future teachers in the system of university classical education. In conclusion, it is concluded that the proposed innovative variable models for the development of pedagogical education at a classical university will ensure the success of professional pedagogical training of future teachers, bring it to a fundamentally new level by realizing the valuable potential of a classical university.
