Relationship between tourism and landscape dynamics in Bonito (MS, Brazil) in view of the GTP model (Geosystem-Territory-Landscape) ABSTRACT The city of Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul, has developed the tourism activity since the early 1990s, influencing the need for physical infrastructure and tourism to meet the demands of the flow of tourists and the local population. These actions influence the changing landscape. The theoretical framework has raised questions about the tourism activity practiced in the city. To cover the different variables that affect the tourist destination, this research uses a methodology based on the concepts of Geosystem-Territory-Landscape (GTP). With the application of this model, aspects of geosystem, territory and landscape are intrinsic elements involving society in their broad discussion, as the need to understand the social and environmental process in the formation of these elements. Seeks to analyze multi-temporal shape the landscape changing dynamics and their influence on the evolution of tourism in Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul, which had a rapid development in the establishment of tourism enterprises in the last 30 years, with different human impacts, that might compromise their environmental quality. Like this, we sought to understand the dynamics of development in rural and urban areas of the municipality, through the identification of aspects related to landscape changes. Data were analyzed initially developed in office, in the preparation of base maps using the 5.2.6 SPRING (Georeferenced Information Processing System). After this step was carried out fieldwork, with records of notes and photographs. The collected data were grouped and systematized by category containing information that meets the objectives of the GTP Model. In this way, the results contribute to evaluate the trajectory of the local scene and conduct reflections on the influences suffered by economic activity there studied, notably: tourism. It was the major change images in land use, with decrease of vegetation in general, water body and exposed soil, increasing vegetation pastures, urban, tourist attractions and temporary crops. The results showed differences between the years 1984 and 2014 in changing the landscape. The multi-temporal analysis contributed to the understanding of the need for planning in relation to the use and occupation of certain areas, minimizing impacts of anthropic actions. KEYWORDS: Society; Environment; GTP, Tourism.

Interactions between humans and animals can be considerably beneficial to human well-being, and the demand for domestic cats as pets has increased in recent years. Despite these benefits, however, cats may  contribute to environmental dissemination of zoonotic pathogens, with potential risks to human health. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence and diversity of feline parasites of zoonotic interest in Campo Grande, the capital city of Mato Grosso do Sul state, Midwestern Brazil, where studies on feline parasitic fauna remain scarce. Fecal samples from 210 male and female cats of varying ages, sheltered at the local Center for Zoonosis Control, were examined. Spontaneous and ether centrifugal sedimentation were used to detect the parasites, found in 149 animals (71.0%), 93 (62.4%) of which were infected with a single parasitic species and 56 (37.6%) with two or more species. Ten parasitic species were detected, where Ancylostoma sp. was the most frequent (65.2%), followed by Platynosomum concinnum (21.0%), Cystoisospora sp. (7.1%), Aelurostrongylus abstrusus (1.9%), Strongyloides sp. (1.9%), Dipylidium caninum (1.4%), Giardia sp. (1.0%), Toxocara sp. (1.0%), Physaloptera praeputialis (1.0%), and Sarcocystis sp. (0.5%). The results obtained are relevant to human and veterinary public health policies and demonstrate the cats’ role in the transmission chain of parasitic zoonoses, particularly in urban areas. The findings can also serve to raise awareness among veterinarians and cat owners on the importance of preventive interventions to ensure healthier cohabitation with pets by reducing human exposure to cat borne parasites in urban areas.   Keywords: Zoonoses. The spatial pattern of the urban development recently experienced by large urban areas is significantly changing the traditional city model based on its compactness. It is generating new forms of urban organization that imply morphological, territorial, social, and functional changes. We analyzed the spatial impact generated by the construction of the Altorreal resort in the Murcia region and its effects on the local population (e.g. number of inhabitants). The results obtained highlight the importance of this resort in terms of space and population compared with other neighborhoods of the city.

SUMMARY Cryptococcosis is a severe systemic mycosis caused by two species of Cryptococcus that affect humans and animals: C. neoformans and C. gattii. Cosmopolitan and emergent, the mycosis results from the interaction between a susceptible host and the environment. The occurrence of C. neoformans was evaluated in 122 samples of dried pigeon excreta collected in 49 locations in the City of Cuiabá, State of Mato Grosso, Brazil, including public squares (n = 5), churches (n = 4), educational institutions (n = 3), health units (n = 8), open areas covered with asbestos (n = 4), residences (n = 23), factory (n = 1) and a prison (n = 1). Samples collected from July to December of 2010 were seeded on Niger seed agar (NSA). Dark brown colonies were identified by urease test, carbon source assimilation tests and canavanine-glycine-bromothymol blue medium. Polymerase chain reaction primer pairs specific for C. neoformans were also used for identification. Cryptococcus neoformans associated to pigeon excreta was isolated from eight (6.6%) samples corresponding to six (12.2%) locations. Cryptococcus neoformans was isolated from urban areas, predominantly in residences, constituting a risk of acquiring the disease by immunocompromised and immunocompetent individuals.

Objectives: To verify the number of visceral leishmaniasis (VL) cases in Brazil and its states and twin cities, with a focus on the state and twin city with the highest number of cases. We investigated social, demographic, laboratory and clinical aspects of these cases. Methodological design: We performed a descriptive study using a quantitative approach and data from 2010 to 2019 that were obtained through a public domain website, the Informatics Department of the Unified Health System. The incidence rate of VL cases was calculated per 100,000 inhabitants. software. Results: In Brazil, 35,886 VL cases were reported, with 2,834 cases in international border states and 148 cases in twin cities. The state and twin city with the highest number of cases were Mato Grosso do Sul (1,834 cases) and Corumbá (94 cases), respectively, with annual mean incidence rates of 6.4 and 8.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In Mato Grosso do Sul and Corumbá, the disease was more frequent in male and brown-skinned individuals who had up to 8 years of education (age range: 1 to > 80 years old). Most of the cases occurred in urban areas, was diagnosed by laboratory tests and evolved to cure (p < 0.05). Conclusions: A high number of VL cases in Brazil was found during the period of study. The cases were distributed in 10 states with international borders and eight twin cities. These findings draw attention to the greater need for management programs to control and prevent VL.

MULTITEMPORAL EVALUATION OF SOIL LOSS IN THE TAQUARIZINHO BASIN, MATO GROSSO DO SUL - BRAZIL Abstract The GIS - Geographic Information System environment is ideal for integrating data, information and different kinds of maps. For example, climate data and topographic or soil cover maps can be analyzed together, bringing all the information into a common base, thus permitting integration and use. The Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) is currently used successfully as a form of evaluating soil loss via laminar erosion, and it was applied to the Taquarizinho River Basin (to the south of Coxim, Mato Grosso do Sul State), a region which showed great changes in the type of use and occupation of the soil during the period analyzed. In the present work are presented the parameters involved in the USLE, some obtained from the digitalization of thematic maps and tables, such as the Rain Erosive Potential (R), Soil Erodability (K), and Cover and Management of the Soil and Conservation Practices (CP), and others, such as Length (L) and Slope Declivity (S), obtained from the GIS environment, from topographic data. The GIS environment permitted a complete integration between the data used to obtain the USLE parameters, and the results. For the Taquarizinho River Basin, the USLE was applied to three different periods: 1966, 1985 and 1996. This multi-temporal application showed a tendency of evolving erosion in the region. Calculations of the absolute values of rates of laminar erosion of the soils indicate that deforestation has lead to an increase of more than fifty times in such erosion, from 1966 to 1996. The mean annual losses of soil from laminar erosion for the entire Taquarizinho River Basin are calculated to have been 4.44 ton/ha in 1996, 5.53 ton/ha in 1985, and 8.65 ton/ha in 1996.

The public area of the city in general is currently experiencing rapid development due to economic growth and the influence of globalization. The public space is formed based on economic, social, political cultural interests, as well as developments and changes that occur in the current public space, making it limited and cannot be accessed optimally by the wider community. This is caused by the hierarchy of public spaces that are formed based on the functions that surround them. The purpose of this study is to reveal the phenomenon of public hierarchy in urban space in the context of its changes. This research is descriptive-analytical and based on theoretical and empirical elaboration. This approach is used to read public spaces in urban areas to get a reference for the interpretation of theoretical relationships from an empirical condition.

Introduction. Migration is a global phenomenon that has no borders and affects all countries without exception. Subjective and objective reasons determine migration flows in the world. More than half of the world's population lives in urban areas. Popular and attractive, with their infrastructure, dynamic labor force market, development of integration and consolidation, inclusion, countries / destination cities of migrants who are looking for a better life and more possibilities for employment and social protection. Cities meet the urgent needs of migrants and respond to amount of integration challenges. The majority of cities, which are under considerable pressure from migrants, especially refugees, are awareness that well-managed migration can bring not only challenges but also opportunities and initiatives which can benefit from the economy and society, especially in the long time period. The goal of the article is to research the European continent as a location for migrants and refugees and also to analyze challenges and opportunities for cities destination under influence of migrant’s flows. Method (methodology). The methodological basis of the article are the following general scientific and empirical methods, such as: historical, systemic, generalization method, grouping, comparative method. Results. According to the ratings, Germany (Berlin), Great Britain (London), France (Paris), Poland (Gdansk) are the most popular countries / cities for migrants in the European continent. Migrants may be a burden to the city, because in its turn mentioned one spends public money on their upkeep. At the same time, migrants may be more talented and skilled workers, less demanding than local population. That is why a government and business of destination city of migrants can cooperate effectively in order to maximize potential of immigrants in cities. The main factors which attract migrants in destination cities are economic opportunities of ones. In particular, the attractiveness of Berlin for migrants is due to the fact that the city is innovative, creative and open to thought. Apart from the city has also dynamic labor market and low labor costs. It is worth noting that the majority of developed countries have demographic issues and aging nation, while young people in developing countries look for work due to imbalances in the domestic labor market. Migration, in the following destination cities (Berlin, Athens, Paris), has made its adjustments in the field of infrastructure, education, health care, urban planning, etc. In particular, the private and public sectors combine own attempts in order to solve migration issues in the long term period.
