Background. The present of the national musical culture is characterized by a kind of synthesis between imitation of the original folk-instrumental traditions with the latest ideological models and performing means. The art of bandura players also occupies a proper place in the development of academic folk instruments of Ukraine. A prominent place in the diversity of ensemble groups of large forms is occupied by the bandura band “Sun” of Kharkiv I. P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts, whose artistic director and conductor is a famous and talented bandura player, senior lecturer at the Department of Folk Instruments of Ukraine, Kharkiv National University of Arts Nadiya Melnik. The band has a unique performance portrait, relatively long creative path and its own genre and style specifics of development. Today the band is the only large educational bandura ensemble in Kharkiv, which presents the performing traditions of Sloboda Ukraine but, unfortunately, in the musicological discourse there are no studies on the creative activity of this artistic association, analysis of development specifics and its role in the development of bandura performance of Ukraine, which determines the relevance of the article. Many scholars such as: L. Yashchenko, V. Umanets, R. Kiyanovska, A.Ivanysh, T. Cherneta and others studied the development, the stages of formation and the specifics of activities of large bandura groups in Ukraine. The main attention of musicologists and bandura practitioners is devoted to the activities of powerful and leading large ensembles and bandura groups. Among them there are National Honored Bandura Band of Ukraine named after G. I. Mayboroda, bandura choir “Magician” of the Dnipro Academy of Music named after M. Glinka, bandura choir “Lyubava” of Poltava College of Arts named after M. V. Lysenko and others. However, the study of the creative activity of the bandura band “Sun” of Kharkiv I. P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts under the direction of N. V. Melnyk, which today has a strong potential and vividly represents the bandura performance not only of Kharkiv, but of Ukraine as a whole remains unnoticed. The purpose and objectives of the article are to highlight the main stages of formation and specifics of the creative activity of the bandore band “Sun” as a bright representative of modern bandura performance in Kharkov. To achieve this goal, the following tasks must be completed: – to identify the main stages of development of the bandura band “Sun”; – to analyze the performance and repertoire of the bandura band “Sun”; – to determine the specifics of the development of creative activity of the bandura band “Sun”. Methods. To achieve this goal and solve the main tasks of the article, the method of artistic and scientific research was used. Results. Basing on the method of art research, it was found that at the present stage the band is the only large group that represents the bandura performance not only of Kharkiv but also in the Sloboda region. Significant events in the artistic life of the participants are marked, which characterize the main milestones in the history of formation and development of the band: the period of the band, the first state recognition of bandura conductors as a professional artists, creation of a bandore band for the first time, winning the laureate title (I place at the all-Ukrainian competition which is called “Ring, bandura” (Dnepropetrovsk, 2004)). The synthesis of traditional performance forms with modern elements of music, combination of vocal and instrumental material and dramatization, melodic recitation, artistic experiments etc. is characteristic for the work of the artistic team. Conclusions. Summarizing all what is written above, we can say that the bandura band “Sun” is a powerful highly professional team with its own performance and drama approach, genre and style features and specific development features: combination of vocal-instrumental material and theatrical performance, melodic, etc. The high appreciation of the bandura players’ creative activity by the leading musicologists of Ukraine and the popularity of the famous artistic group testifies to its recognition in the musicological circle and among the fans of bandura performance in Kharkiv and in Ukraine as a whole.

Formulation of the problem. The hitherto little-known parts of the way of life, teaching andarchitectural and construction activities in the CPC (Ekaterinoslav Technical Courses) are covered. Korobochkin(famous Ukrainian public figure I.M.Truba) (1878−1950); the history of creation of these COURSES, their purpose,personnel of courses, the program of training, its change during the first two years with aspiration to approach toprograms of similar higher Western European countries, surnames of teachers on subjects is added. Brief service andcreative characteristics of teachers for the entire period of the COURSES. By the way, a unique photo of the newbuilding of V.K. Korobochkin's Ekaterinoslav Technical Courses was added to the article, preserved in the author'sarchive, but it was built under the direction of I.M. Truba, according to his project and estimate. Its facade is described.The significance of V.K. Korobochkin’s Ekaterinoslav Technical Courses for the whole of the Dnieper, as the embryoof all technical universities, and later the National University, is given, the advantage of the Courses in this sense isproved. This is documented. In exile, I. M. Truba continues educational and pedagogical activities for the benefit of theMotherland − translates into Ukrainian, highly moral, in the educational sense, fairy tales by European authors,publishes them and sends them to Ukrainian schools. Corresponds with his children to Dnіpropetrovsk, givesinstructions. As an example of his drawing skills, he cites drawings, in 3D-style pencil, of the corners of his homes inexile. Mention is made of his entrance examinations at the Higher School in St. Petersburg, including the Academy ofArts. He also works at Florinsdorfen Lokomotivfabrik and at the architectural and construction company Hestia. Since1924, when he was invited to Czechoslovakia, he has been working as a lecturer at the Ukrainian Academy ofEconomics at the Faculty of Agriculture in Podebrady , reads courses on machine parts, and Resistance materialsaccording to his own textbook, which he compiled in Ukrainian and published at the Academy. On the recommendationof an engineer, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Rector of the Higher Technical University in Prague, Professor ZdenekBazant [20], in 1929 Ivan Mikhailovich Truba was hired as a design engineer and general consultant in the bridge andiron production department of the Skoda Plant. In the city Pilsen. Documents testify to his highly skilled engineeringand creative activity. The list of types of constructive projects executed by I.M. Truba at the enterprise and implementedis given. The chronology in the field of creativity, the era of the Central Council and emigration has been clarified, hisscientific publications and pedagogical and creative activity as a scientist have been added The purpose of the article isto supplement the monograph on the life and work of I.M. Truba and its surroundings. Conclusions. It is known thatduring the Bolshevik rule, in his homeland, Ivan Mikhailovich was considered an enemy of the people (which was notspecified) "as a Ukrainian bourgeois nationalist". Therefore, all his activities were subjected to political anathema.Researched and analyzed archival materials, on the basis of which the conclusion is given − the significance ofI.M. Truba is covered as a person, a citizen − a patriot, namely: the UKRAINIAN PEOPLE. Ivan Mikhailovich'sactivity during his lifetime was distinguished by its versatility, namely: pedagogy, education, political, cultural andsocial activities, national patriotism, writing, architectural construction and scientific creativity.

Purpose of the Article. The research raises questions of history and generalization of experience of preparation of experts of information sphere in the Separate division «The Nikolaev branch of the Kyiv national university of culture and arts». The methodology of the study were methods of analysis, synthesis, comparative history, and retrospective, which allowed to study the history of the Department of Information, Library, and Archival Affairs for 50 years. The scientific novelty of the work is that for the first time the history of the departments that trained information specialists (librarians and documentologists) was comprehensively studied. Conclusions. The Mykolaiv Educational School of Library and Documentation which was the only one in the South of Ukraine for many decades has extensive experience in training information specialists and occupies a leading place in the half-century history of the Mykolaiv Branch of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts. The department, which trains specialists in the field of information, makes a significant contribution to the scientific development of problems of the documentary, history of library and book business, customer service. The department celebrates its anniversary at a new stage of its development, implementing new projects, startups, forms of work with students in a transformational educational environmentwhile maintaining a high professional level. Post-graduate surgical training at the Fiji National University (FNU), previously known as the Fiji School of Medicine) has recently been updated by incorporating elements from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) training curriculum. The revised curriculum maintains strong contextual relevance to the needs and pathologies of the Pacific Island nations.  This paper outlines why the FNU surgical postgraduate training programme should be applauded as a successful programme in the training of surgeons for the region.

On December 22, 2017 the Ukrainian Diplomatic Service marked the 100thanniversary of its establishment and development. In dedication to such a momentous event, the Department of International Relations of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University has published a book of IR Dept’s ardent activity since its establishment. It includes information both in Ukrainian and English on the backbone of the collective and their versatile activities, achievements and prospects for the future. The author delves into retracing the course of the history of Ukrainian Diplomacy formation and development. The author highlights the roots of its formation, reconsidering a long way of its development that coincided with the formation of basic elements of Ukrainian statehood that came into existence as a result of the war of national liberation – the Ukrainian Central Rada (the Central Council of Ukraine). Later, the Ukrainian or so-called State the Hetmanate was under study. The Directorat (Directory) of Ukraine, being a provisional collegiate revolutionary state committee of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, was given a thorough study. Of particular interest for the research are diplomatic activities of the West Ukrainian People`s Republic. Noteworthy, the author emphasizes on the Ukrainian Socialist Soviet Republic’s foreign policy, forced by the Bolshevist Russia. A further important implication is both the challenges of the Ukrainian statehood establishing and Ukraine’s functioning as a state, first and foremost, stemmed from the immaturity and conscience-unawareness of the Ukrainian society, that, ultimately, has led to the fact, that throughout the twentieth century Ukraine as a statehood, being incorporated into the Soviet Union, could hardly be recognized as a sovereign state. Our research suggests that since the beginning of the Ukrainian Diplomacy establishment and its further evolution, it used to be unprecedentedly fabricated and forged. On a wider level, the research is devoted to centennial fight of Ukraine against Russian violence and aggression since the WWI, when in 1917 the Russian Bolsheviks, headed by Lenin, started real Russian war against Ukraine. Apropos, in the about-a-year-negotiation run, Ukraine, eventually, failed to become sovereign. Remarkably, Ukraine finally gained its independence just in late twentieth century. Nowadays, Russia still regards Ukraine as a part of its own strategic orbit,waging out a carrot-and-stick battle. Modern academic training for theatre in India has a history of just over fifty years (since independence). The National School of Drama (NSD) was set up in 1957, but the prime objective of the institution at that time was to generate professionals to develop children's theatre and rural theatre. Although India possessed a wide range of traditional performance cultures throughout the country, from rituals to folk performances and classical performances, the NSD was modelled on the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) since the new institution was led by a graduate of RADA, Professor Ebrahim Alkazi, who put the institution on a functional track. Thus the toolkit used during the initial days was primarily based on Western models conducive to realism rather than growing organically out of the actual practices of the different forms of Indian performance. This early orientation remains today, emphasizing the creation of referential meanings on the stage through conventional methods and devices, taken as the unshakable organizing principle of theatre practice.

The article considers the history of relations of traditional art crafts of Dagestan with the Research Institute of Art Industry (RIAI). Due to its budgetary and personnel capabilities, the Institute tried to support the art crafts of Dagestan until the late 1980s. Since 1979, the Mahachkalinsky branch of RIAI has been working here. Artists, scientific employees of the Institute helped masters in search of prospective assortment for crafts, taught them skills to study the history of crafts, revival of traditions. The most significant role in such cooperation was played by scientific employees of the Institute: E. M. Shilling, E. M. Kilchevskaya, T. M. Razin, D. A. Chirkov, etc. Important for the crafts of the region was the assistance of the artists of the Institute in the execution of samples for introduction into serial production, the production of exhibits for All-Russian and international exhibitions, orders of state institutions and museums related to celebrations in the country of various anniversary. This practice was common for art artels, state mills of the Soviet time. Working with the artists of RIAI masters of Dagestan learned to draw up (drawings with pencil, Indian ink), compositions of patterns, to drafts of products, and also to collect field material on historical culture of crafts, to work as professional artists of applied art.

Based on a comprehensive assessment of the state of the park landscape, the level of its anthropogenic transformation is determined, which is necessary to identify the potential for restoring the natural biodiversity of the object. It is reported that the plantations and soil cover of the park of the 50th anniversary of VLKSM are very heterogeneous; they reflect the history of park establishment. The soil cover consists of three main types: sod, bog and urbanozem. It should be stressed that the best preserved part of the park is the plot with boggy soils around the pond. Herbaceous plants growing on the plot are very similar to the species composition of the ground cover of overgrown peat bogs. Over the 40 years since the foundation of the park, a high level of pollutants has been accumulated in the soil, which allows us to state that the negative impact occurs constantly. Consequently, the existing plantings are insufficient to protect visitors from vehicle emissions from the roads along Yasnaya and Shaumyana streets. There are enough natural elements in the park of the 50th anniversary of VLKSM; this should be taken into account in its redevelopment. There is an opportunity to restore the reservoir and return the plantings to their natural appearance. It is proposed to add elements of landscape decoration in the park.

The concept of O. Spengler suggests that the history of any culture goes through certain stages of development, the last of which is civilization. During this period creative activity in culture is replaced by mechanical imitation and lost connection with the culture formed by the «pra-phenomenon». The author correlates Spengler’s postulates with the processes of actual social reality and comes to the conclusion that contemporary Russia is going through the stage of civilization. The article raises the question of how the future is seen in this situation. The author uses the term “image of the future”, introduced by F. Polak to understand the disinterest of modern post-war Europe in its future. Thus, the lack of interest in the future can be recognized as another characteristic of the state of civilization. The existence in contemporary Russia of distinct images of the future is an open question. Using the methods of content analysis, the author comes to the conclusion that in Russian contemporary society there exists a retrospective image of the future, focused on conservative values, hierarchy of society and its closed nature to the world. Thus, it is concluded that it is wrong to talk about complete absence of images of the future in contemporary Russia. But the nature and content of these images demonstrate the low level of interest in the future, which also indicates the transition of Russian culture to civilization.
