During the 2020-2021 years, it has been necessary for organizations to rethink how they conduct their daily operations in light of COVID-19 restrictions. One of the many activities within organizations is to provide new and recurrent training to their employees. In a similar vein, universities also had to make adaptations to instructional methods. This change provided an opportunity to compare student achievement in two different instructional modalities; one with lectures delivered in a full face-to-face format, and the other with recorded video lectures delivered in online platform. Both formats were conducted in morning and afternoon sessions. Three sets of test results were measured to compare the outcomes between two years. This study had mixed results, two of the three test results sets between the years showed no significant difference between face-to-face and recorded video lectures, while one of the three test results provided evidence that the results were different between instructional methods. The results of this study could provide applicable information to organizations and help to provide a roadmap for providing training in different formats. It is noteworthy that providing instruction in recorded video formats could be less expensive to organizations and also provide more flexibility for employees to fit recurrent t into their daily schedules.

ABSTRACT Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the perception of smile esthetics among orthodontists and laypersons with respect to unilateral maxillary canine torque variations in a frontal smile analysis. Methods: Full face and close-up smile photographs of two subjects (1 man and 1 woman) were used. Both smiles displayed healthy maxillary anterior dentitions. The images were digitally altered to obtain a bilateral 0° torque in the maxillary canines. From this image, unilateral variations of the left canine were made with -15°, -10°, -5°, 0°, +5°, +10° and +15°. Final images were randomly assembled into an album that was given to 53 orthodontists and 53 laypersons. Each rater was asked to evaluate the attractiveness of the images using visual analog scales. Data collected were statistically analyzed with one-way analysis of variance with Tukey post-hoc test and the unpaired Student t test. Results: For orthodontists, most attractive smiles were those with 0°, -5° and -10°. For laypersons, most attractive smiles were those with 0°, -5°, -10°, -15° and + 5°. For both groups, the lowest scores were given for the smiles with +10° and +15° torque. When comparing the perceptions of the orthodontists and laypersons, they did not show statistical differences in most situations. Moreover, in general, there was no significant difference between the full-face and close-up assessments of the smiles. Conclusions: The present findings indicated that smiles with unilateral palatal (negative values) maxillary canine torque variations were more tolerated than smiles with buccal crown torque (positive values) variations.

Handwriting identification is one out of the many research ever conducted. In its development, the handwriting can be written in real time by the user by using the mouse (online character recognition). Various studies on the traditional character handwriting recognition continue to be developed. One of them is the recognition of the Balinese characters. Balinese characters have their own unique characters compared with the other regions. The difference between the shapes of the characters with the other characters are quite similar, or there are some characters that can only be distinguished by a small sketch or doodle. This study uses Artificial Neural Network with Backpropagation algorithm to perform the Balinese characters recognition and zoning as a method of feature extraction. In a variation of the extraction method, the characteristics used are Image Centroid and Zone (ICZ), Zone Centroid and Zone (ZCZ) and normalization of features. Of the three methods, it will be determined the best method used in the Balinese characters recognition. From the test results of the extraction method, the combined characteristics of the ICZ, ZCZ and normalization of features were the most effective to be used for the recognition of the Balinese characters. The level of accuracy obtained from the results of the online testing was 71,28% and 72,31% for offline testing, with parameters of Backpropagation, which used the value of learning rate of 0,03, a momentum value of 0,5 and the number of neurons in the hidden layer of 130.

Introduction: Dental plaque is a soft deposit that accumulates on the teeth. It is a complex microbial community with as many as 400 distinct bacterial species. One of the most prevalent diseases of the oral cavity is periodontal disease which begins with gingivitis. The main cause of gingivitis is plaque accumulation. Aim of this research is to comparison  effectiveness of mouthwash containing cetylpyridinium chloride and mouthwash containing triclosan on plaque. Methods: The research was experimental study, with the double blinded parallel design. A total of 30 students of SMA Pasundan 8 were chosen. Clinical examination was conducted to obtain the plaque score using the Quigley Hein Index (modified) 1970. Subjects were divided into two groups. One group was given the cetylpyridinium chloride mouthwash and the other group was given triclosan mouthwash. Data were then analysed using the ANOVA test. Results: there is no significant difference between the effectiveness of mouthwash containing cetylpyridinium chloride and mouthwash containing triclosan on plaque (P>0.05). Conclusion: the mouthwash containing cetylpyridinium chloride and mouthwash containing triclosan is effective in reducing plaque.

In this article the point of departure for presenting a hermeneuticreading of Augustine’s Confessiones is taken in St. Paul 1 Cor. 13:12 where Paul speaks of our being earthly conditioned to see everything in a mirror as if in a riddle until we stand face to face with our creator. In a selective reading of Confessiones, I argue that the book is structured in a two layered manner in which the relationship between Augustine and his earthly parents is transposed to a relationship between these relatives, on the one hand, and their heavenly parents in God and his church, on the other. I further argue that Augustine’s individual life story in a similar vein gains its fulfilment in the creation and consummation of the world. Thus, in the concluding exegesis of the introducing verses of Genesis, in which God’s concreatio of time and matter mirrors human existence, Augustine unfolds the prospect of a totality only to be grasped face to face with the creator, that is, in the eschatological revelation of the love of God.

There is much discussion about whether online instruction is as effective as face-to-face instruction.  To address this question, a comparative study was made of two sections of an MBA  organizational theory course, one taught online and the other face-to-face. The content covered by both sections was the same with similar assignments and a common final examination. There was little difference between the sections on the results of the final examination or the student course evaluations. This study suggests that neither modality is more effective than the other with regard to student achievement or their perceptions of course effectiveness.

Suction performance is one of the most important characteristics of the industrial pump to keep the pump capability against the cavitation under the low suction pressure condition. Inducers have been developed to improve the suction performance of pumps. They are used for rocket turbo pumps and recently for many industrial applications. It is one of the competitiveness of the industrial pumps to downsize the scale with higher rotational speed by adopting inducer. The authors had proved that pump with splitter impeller with inducer can further improve the suction performance. The splitter impeller was specially designed to be resistant to the cavitation choke. The other very important requirement for the pump against cavitation is that it does not occur cavitation surge. The cavitation surge arises at the partial flow rate of the pump. In contrast to this the suction performance become better at the partial flow rate. So the precise compromise is necessary to satisfy these requirements. This paper presents the experimental and CFD results to improve and optimize the suction performance without generating cavitation surge. The many design and combination of splitter impeller and inducer are tested to get the better performance. The test results of pumps with different inlet flow coefficient are compared not only suction performance but also the onset of cavitation surge.

Objective:To determine the prevalence of cutaneous anergy in pregnant and nonpregnant women who are seropositive for human immunodeficiency virus. Methods and materials:The medical records of 159 women seropositive for human immunodeficiency virus were reviewed. Demographic characteristics and tuberculin skin test results were abstracted from the chart. Tuberculin skin testing was performed by the Mantoux method (5 tuberculin units of purified protein derivative injected intradermally). Anergy testing was performed using any two of the three following antigens; tetanus toxoid, mumps, orCandidaskin test antigen. A positive tuberculin test was defined as induration of 5 mm or more, and a positive test for the other antigens was defined as any amount of induration over the skin test area. Anergy was defined as any amount of induration to the other antigens. A CD4+T lymphocyte count was obtained at the time of skin testing. Continuous variables were analyzed using the Mann Whitney—U test. Categorical data were analyzed with the chi-square or Fisher's exact test as appropriate. A two-tailedPvalue <0.05 was considered significant. Results:There were 102 nonpregnant and 57 pregnant women who returned to have their skin test results read. There was no significant difference in the prevalence of positive, negative or anergic skin test results between groups. The CD4+T lymphocyte count (mean ± standard deviation) in patients with anergic results was similar between pregnant (375 ± 256/mm3) and nonpregnant (358 ± 305/mm3) women (P= 0.64).Conclusion:The prevalence of cutaneous anergy is similar among pregnant and nonpregnant women seropositive for human immunodeficiency virus.
