Interpersonal communication in schools that is established between teacher and student is one important factor in determining individual development, especially the development of morals. Each teacher, of course, has a way to educate and nurture in different ways. The purpose of this study is to describe the patterns of interpersonal communication carried out by teachers and students in fostering morals at SMP Plus Nurul Hikmah Pamekasan. The purpose of this study is to describe the patterns of interpersonal communication carried out by teachers to students in moral development in Nurul Hikmah Pamekasan Middle School and describe the relationship between teachers and students after the application of interpersonal communication patterns in SMP Plus Nurul Hikmah Pamekasan. This study uses a qualitative approach to the type of case study descriptive research. Data sources obtained through interviews and observations with teacher and student informants. While checking the validity of the data is done through the perseverance of researchers and triangulation. The results of research conducted at SMP Plus Nurul Hikmah Pamekasan show that interpersonal communication between teacher and student in the process of moral formation goes quite well. This is evidenced in terms of the communication approach that is carried out by motivating and fostering students to become people of moral mercy. The relationship that exists between teacher and student can be felt after the application of interpersonal communication patterns. This is evidenced by the closeness between the teacher (communicator) and students (communicant) after communication between the two parties occurs, there is a problem resolution and a change in attitude to students. While the changes felt by students after the application of interpersonal communication is done, there is a fear of making mistakes and changing attitudes to be better than before. So that the interpersonal communication patterns of teachers and students in moral development in SMP Plus Nurul Hikmah Pamekasan are declared successful.

This article presents the results of empirical research focused on the study of the value attitude of children of middle preschool age to the family, which we consider as the basis of spiritual and moral formation of preschool children. It is the attitude to the closest adults, as objectively proved by the cultural and historical concept of L.S. Vygotsky's development, that has the most decisive importance for the effectiveness of the whole process of personal formation. Given that moral development is not only an important component, but also the indicator of the full development of personality (studies F.A. Akhmatova, Z.Y. Barysheva, B.M. BIM-Bada, E.V. Bondarev-skaya, T.I. Vlasova, V.I. Dodonov, A.V. Mudrik, N.D. Nikandrova, L.I. Novikova, E.G. Ossovskogo, V.G. Pryanikov, Z.I. Ravkin, I.N. Sisimskoj, G.N. Filonov and many other researchers), we believe that the moral standards of the relationship to their friends and family, and formed in the process of interaction with them in the framework of family education in the future, having become a habit, the child will carry and the rest of society. Based on the results of research, as the most important component components of the value relationship of preschool children to their loved ones, we have identified a cognitive component, suggesting the presence of children's systemic knowledge of the rules and regulations of interaction; affective component, the component that determines the modality of the child's emotions and determines the nature and direction of his attitude to close adults; behavioral component, which, in our opinion, is a specific integration of the first two, and an indicator of their level of development. Taking into account the selected component components of the value attitude of preschool children to their loved ones, we have developed and tested an experimental diagnostic program, objectively proved the existence of the relationship between the level of value attitude of children to their family members and their spiritual and moral development.

<p class="15bIsiAbstractBInggris"><em>This research was conducted to describe the interpersonal communication patterns between teachers and students’ ith special needs at the Sada Ibu Inclusion Junior High School Cirebon City in the teaching and learning process. The reseach method used by the author is descriptive qualitative, that is research that produces descriptive data in the form of written ord from the person being observed. Data collection techniques used are observation, direct interview techniques to trusted sources, and documentation. From the result of the reseach that has been done, that the communication between Sada Ibu Inclusive Junior High School teacher are students ith special needs is categorized according to primary, secondary, linear and circular communication patterns which refer to Joseph A. DeVito’s theory of the effectiveness of interpersonal communication. Metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa tulisan kata-kata dari orang yang diamati. teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yakni dengan observasi, teknik wawancara secara langsung dengan narasumber terpercaya, dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, bahwa komunikasi guru SMP Inklusi Sada Ibu dengan murid berkebutuhan khusus dikategorikan telah sesuai dengan pola komunikasi primer, sekunder, linear dan sirkular yang mengacu pada teori Joseph A. DeVito tentang efektifitas komunikasi interpersonal. Namun pada pola komunikasi sirkular respon yang diberikan cenderung pasif karena feedback tidak seratus persen berjalan secara maksimal karena tingkat keterbatasan murid berkebutuhan khusus yang bermacam-macam..</p>

This paper reports a survey done that examined the relationship between the use of Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and YouTube on students’ academic performance in secondary schools. The study adopted the descriptive research design. The population of the study comprised all 7,767 teachers in secondary schools. The sample of 385 teachers was randomly selected. Two instruments were used. The data were analyzed using Pearson Product Movement Correlation Statistics (PPMCS) at 0.05 level of significant. The findings showed that the use of Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, and YouTube were significantly related to students’ academic performance of secondary schools. The study concluded that that the use of Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter and YouTube among teachers and students had positive contributions to students’ academic performance of secondary schools. The findings implicate that the teachers and students in secondary schools should admire the use of social medial such as Facebook WhatsApp, Twitter, and YouTube as an interactive forum for teaching-learning activities.

Interpersonal communication patterns or it is commonly called as interpersonal communication is one of the soft skills that students should improve. The low ability of students’ interpersonal communication in a sense may cause problems since students must adapt to the academic environment which will eventually affect their academic achievement. This research is aimed at obtaining a description of the relationship between students’ interpersonal communication patterns with their academic achievement. The deductive method was applied by collecting data through a set of questionnaires which has been tested for its validity and reliability. The respondents of this research were 88 students of Politeknik Manufaktur Bandung. The data were tested using SPPS version 20. in which the correlation technique employed was product moment. The results obtained from testing the significant value table between the interpersonal communication skills and academic achievement variables show that there is a significant relationship between these two variables. This finding also indicates that the higher the increase of the students’ interpersonal communication skills, the higher their academic achievement will be. Further research can be developed by including other variables such as among others motivation, leadership, integrity, teamwork, lifelong learning, flexibility, and demography factors as the independent or mediator variable to get a more comprehensive result.  Keywords: communication skill; interpersonal communication; students’ academic achievement ABSTRAKPola komunikasi antar pribadi atau sering disebut komunikasi interpersonal merupakan salah satu soft skills yang perlu dikembangkan pada mahasiswa. Rendahnya keterampilan komunikasi  interpersonal pada mahasiswa sedikit banyak akan menyebabkan mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalan beradaptasi dengan lingkungan perkuliahan yang pada akhirnya akan berpengaruh pada prestasinya.  Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendapatkan deskripsi tentang hubungan antara pola keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal antar mahasiswa dengan prestasi akademiknya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deduktif dengan pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner yang telah disusun dan dinyatakan valid dan reliabel untuk digunakan. Responden penelitian ini sebanyak 88 orang mahasiswa Politeknik Manufaktur Bandung. Pengujian data menggunakan SPSS versi 20 dimana teknik korelasi yang digunakan adalah product moment. Hasil pengujian berdasarkan tabel nilai signifikansi antara variabel keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal dengan variabel prestasi akademik menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kedua variabel penelitian. Temuan penelitian ini juga mengindikasikan bahwa semakin meningkat keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal akan semakin meningkat pula prestasi akadenik mahasiswa. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat dikembangkan dengan memasukkan variabel lain dalam penelitian seperti motivasi, kepemimpinan, integritas, kerjasama tim, keinginan untuk terus belajar, fleksibilitas dan faktor demografi sebagai variabel bebas ataupun variabel mediator, sehingga didapatkan hasil yang lebih komprehensif.Kata kunci :  keterampilan komunikasi, komunikasi interpersonal; prestasi akademik mahasiswa

Social distancing has limited the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), but also changed communication patterns. However, studies of how mental health in older adults relates to the usage of different modes of interpersonal communication are sparse. The aim of this study was to analyze how COVID-19-related changes in the frequencies of using different modes of communication (digital or in-person) have influenced mental health in older adults from 27 countries. Our study was based on part of Wave 8 of the SHARE data set, which focused on the living situation of older adults during the pandemic. Findings suggest that in-person communication benefited mental health in people aged ≥60 years more than digital communication. The older the person, the less beneficial digital communication was for their mental health, especially during interactions with their children. Our findings are useful for researchers and practitioners interested in technologically meditated interventions.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya pergeseran kebiasaan dan budaya masyarakat Indonesia yang menjadi serba digital seiring dengan adanya perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat. Perubahan tersebut menghadirkan adanya budaya baru dalam urusan mencari jodoh. Sejalan dengan tingginya ketertarikan dan minat netizen mencari pasangan di situs online, kini telah hadir berbagai macam aplikasi online yang berfokus pada pencarian pasangan hidup, salah satunya adalah Tinder. Saat ini, Tinder menjadi aplikasi kencan yang banyak disukai oleh netizen. Tidak sedikit masyarakat Indonesia berhasil menemukan pasangan hidupnya melalui Tinder. Penelitian ini membahas tentang bagaimana pola komunikasi serta pengalaman-pengalaman pengguna Tinder dalam menemukan pasangannya di aplikasi ini hingga akhirnya memutuskan untuk menjalin hubungan yang lebih serius. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori interpersonal communication dengan konsep: intimacy, passion dan commitment. Ketiga konsep tersebut kemudian dikonstrukan ke dalam bentuk pertanyaan dalam sebuah wawancara yang akan ditanyakan kepada informan. Peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan tujuan untuk menggambarkan fenomena keberhasilan hubungan asmara melalui aplikasi Tinder disertai dengan informasi yang lebih detail. Temuan yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah pengguna Tinder berhasil menjalin hubungan yang lebih serius ke jenjang pernikahan setelah melalui proses yang cukup panjang hanya dengan diawali oleh adanya interaksi komunikasi secara bertahap melalui Tinder.Kata-kata Kunci: Kencan Online, Komunikasi Interpersonal, Keintiman, Komitmen, Tinder ABSTRACT This research was motivated by a shift in the habits and culture of Indonesian society which became completely digital in line with the increasingly rapid development of technology. These changes present a new culture of finding a mate. In line with the high interest of netizens looking for partners through online sites, there are various online applications that focus on finding a partner, such as Tinder. Currently, Tinder is one of favorite dating application by netizens. Many people have managed to find life partner through Tinder. This research discusses how the communication patterns and experiences of Tinder users in finding their partners until they finally decide to have a serious relationship. This study uses interpersonal communication theory with the concepts: intimacy, passion, commitment. The third concept is constructed into the form of interview questions that will be asked to informants. Researchers used a qualitative descriptive method in order to describe the phenomenon that describes the relationship as through the Tinder application with more detailed information. The findings obtained in this study are Tinder users have succeeded in establishing a serious relationship to the level of marriage after going through a long process only initiated by gradual communication interactions through Tinder. Keywords: Online Dating, Interpersonal Communication, Intimacy, Commitment, Tinder.

National education is a conscious and planned effort to help children develop their potential be spiritually strong, religious, intelligent, a strong personality and noble character and noble skills. For this reason, education not only focuses on the aspect of children’s knowledge but also on religion and morals aspects. This education begins in the family through communication patterns that are created between parents and children in the form of interpersonal communication that can increase the religiosity of adolescents. Therefore, this article aims to measure the interpersonal communication within the family. The author uses quantitative methods with technical correlation to determine the relationship between two variables, namely interpersonal communication in the family and youth religiosity, and includes 303 adolescents as a sample. The data were collected using a Likert scale and processed using Excel and SPSS 16 programs in order to obtain the results that the application of good interpersonal communication in families will increase adolescent religiosity. This leads to the conclusion ‘there is a mutually influential relationship between interpersonal communication in the family and adolescent religiosity’.Contribution: This article contributes to Christian families in increasing interpersonal communication as a pattern of youth formation, because it can increase their religiosity.

The study examined the relationship between principals’ genderrelated variables and discipline of teachers and students. The study was a descriptive research design of the survey type. The study population comprised 80, 291 teachers in Southwest Nigeria that comprised six states. A sample of 2,040 teachers was drawn from 102 Secondary Schools in 17 local Government Areas from three States in Southwest Nigeria using proportionate random and stratified sampling techniques. Data were collected with an instrument tagged “Gender-Related Variables and Discipline Questionnaire”. The instrument was subjected to face and content validity by expert in Educational management and tests, to ensure the items measure what they are supposed to measure. The reliability of the instrument was established through test-retest method which yielded a coefficient of 0.78. The hypotheses were tested with Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation and Multiple Regression Analysis at 0.05 level of significance. It was revealed from the study that there was significant relationship between principals’ gender-related variables and teachers’ as well as students’ discipline. It was also revealed from the study that courage of principals was the best predictor of teachers’ discipline while principals’ toughness was the best predictor of students’ discipline. It was concluded on the basis of the findings of this study that gender-related variables are critical variables in the discipline of both teachers and students. It was therefore recommended that principals should regularly be reminded that their ability to discipline erring teachers and students is not a function of their sex but their personal attributes. It was equally recommended that principals’ knowledge need to be updated on the need to maintain those variables such as courage, toughness and friendliness that contribute to their being effective in disciplining both teachers and students.

ABSTRACTNowadays smartphones can be consumed from young to old age. Motives teenagers in using thesmartphone quite diverse, namely, the sophistication of features, fast internet access, ease of accessto social media, entertainment facilities and help in doing homework. In early January 2017, SMPNegeri 50 Bandung set a ban on bringing smartphones to school, due to the recent years the influenceof smartphone making problems in school. This study was conducted to find out how much the influenceof using smartphones to interpersonal communication patterns of students of SMP Negeri 50 Bandung.This research is associated with Uses and Gratification theory and the method is quantitative with thetype of descriptive research. This study involved one independent variable and one dependent variable.Using probability sampling method with Slovin approach with the number of respondents 82 people.Data analysis techniques used are descriptive and multiple linear regression analysis. Based on theresults of simultaneous hypothesis testing, a significant influence on the use of smartphones againstinterpesonal communication patterns. This is evidenced by the value of F-count(41.644) F-table(2.722) with a significance level of 5%. The result of coefficient of determination showed that Frequencyof Use, the Variety of Content and Activity give influence of 61,6% to Interpersonal CommunicationPattern of students of SMP Negeri 50 Bandung. While the action of 38.4% is the contribution of othervariables that are not examined in this study. Can be concluded that SMP Negeri 50 Bandung prohibitsbringing smartphones to school so obtained despite the prohibition of bringing the smartphone in effectto make high interpersonal communication patterns of students of SMP Negeri 50 Bandung.Keywords: smartphone usage, interpersonal communication, pattern of interpersonal communication,uses and gratification.
