This research aims at analyzing (1) the effect of vendor’s ability, benevolence, and integrity variables toward e-commerce customers’ trust in UBM; (2) the effect of vendor’s ability, benevolence, and integrity variables toward the level of e-commerce customers’ participation in Indonesia; and (3) the effect of trust variable toward level of e-commerce customers participation in UBM. This research makes use of UBM e-commerce users as research samples while using Likert scale questionnaire for data collection. Furthermore, the questionnaires are sent to as many as 200 respondents. For data analysis method, Structural Equation Model was used. Out of three predictor variables (ability, benevolence, and integrity), it is only vendor’s integrity that has a positive and significant effect on customers’ trust. On the other hand, it is only vendor’s integrity and customer’s trust that have a positive and significant effect on e-commerce customers’ participation in UBM. Keywords: e-commerce customers’ participation, ability, benevolence, integrity

Bardone and Bauters suggest a re-conceptualization of design-based research using the classical term "phronesis" and question some methodological developments referring to the role of intervention and theory in design-based research. This discussion article is a comment on the text of Bardone and Bauters and pursues two aims: On the one hand the term “phronesis” is connected to the traditional concept of “pädagogischer Takt” (literally: “pedagogical tact”) to stimulate a joint discourse of both traditions. On the other hand, two main suggestions of Bardone und Bauters are critically examined, namely their proposal to conceptualize intervention in design-based research exclusively as an action, and their call for deriving generalizations via experiences instead of theories. The discussion article finally argues for maintaining the integrative power of design-based research by avoiding one-sided interpretations.

Data was collected from the curiosity questionnaire in learning, consisting of 48 items on the Likert scale with a reliability of 0.886. The results showed the level of curiosity of students in the aspects of interest, novelty seeking, and openness of experience to be in the medium category and in the exploration aspect, in the low category. On the other hand, students in the third semester a had higher curiosity in learning compared to students in semesters five and seven, while studies on the gender aspect did not find substantial differences in students' curiosity in learning.

AbstractPresentation skills are one of the most important tools that are required on numerous occasions in education and business. In most of the business and economics colleagues, presentation skills are taught as part of the curriculum, of at least several courses. Therefore, it could be expected that presentation skills would be highly developed among business and economics students. However, in practice, people develop numerous fears and barriers to the presentation in public. On the other hand, students do not behave in the same manner taking into account their fear towards the presentation in public. The goal of the paper is to investigate if there are homogenous groups of students according to their attitude towards the presentation, both as sources of success and as a source of fear. Cluster analysis has been employed to fulfil the paper goal. Non-hierarchical k-means analysis has been conducted on data collected by the research instrument about the benefits and fears from the presentations on the sample of students enrolled in business and economics colleagues. Results indicate that there are homogenous groups of students according to presentation perceived benefits and fears, but the composition of these groups indicates that perceived benefits and fears of presentations are not always related in the same direction.

Abstract There are two reasons why a study of the plasticity of rubber is of importance to the planter, viz.: (1) the variable plasticity of plantation rubber leads to many difficulties in manufacturing operations; and (2) first-grade plantation rubber is so hard that it is frequently mixed with inferior grades and other materials to enable it to pass more easily through the different processes. The results of the investigations recorded in this report suggest a definite reason for the hardness and variability of first-grade rubber. Tests carried out by De Vries in Java showed: (1) that freshly prepared plantation rubber is uniform in plasticity, but that many samples gradually become hard or soft on keeping and so develop differences; and (2) that rubber containing more serum substances than usual becomes hard, and that containing less than usual becomes soft. On the other hand, tests carried out by the Scheme on a large number of samples for over three years show that in most cases rubber becomes harder on keeping for six months at 15° C. The hardening of the rubber at European temperatures has been confirmed by Griffiths of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., who stated that large-scale experiments on rubber from different estates showed that in all cases, after storage for three years, it was necessary to increase the time of milling by about 30 per cent in order to obtain the required plasticity.

This paper discusses influence of the religious orientation and educational background of students to fundamentalism. This study involved 291 students of the UIN Walisongo and Diponegoro University (UNDIP). Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed by multiple regression. The results showed that religious orientation significantly affected student religious fundamentalism with value of f = 17.523. On the other hand, educational background does not significantly affect student religious fundamentalism with a value of f = 2.430. Likewise, the interaction of religious orientation and educational background did not significantly affect student religious fundamentalism with a value of f = 10.010.

Abstrak

Penelitian ini membahas pengaruh orientasi agama dan latar belakang pendidikan mahasiswa terhadap fundamentalisme agama. It is clear that use of images has effect on teaching the chemistry concepts. In classrooms, some examples which are used for simplifying and understanding the material better are in macroscopic dimension and students do not understand particles such as atoms, molecules and ions well. In order to help them understand these concepts in macroscopic dimension, illustration is used. In illustration, students can reflect different concepts of chemistry which have learnt during teaching. One of the illustration methods is to use painting art, as one can determine the extent to which they have understood from chemistry concepts and relationship among different areas of the sciences, society and technology by studying paintings of these students. The Aim of this research is to determine through their paintings whether students have understood the taught concepts in chemistry of the first grade of high school in IRAN or not. These chemistry subjects include water, atmosphere, minerals and fuel. After teaching the above topics, the students were asked to select a subject at their will and paint about it. This research has been performed in two separate cities in IRAN but it has been implemented in equal age groups and it was specified that different places of residence had effects on selection of painting subject. Our experience showed that use of this method led to deep learning in the students and provided the opportunity for them to express their beliefs in scientific concepts in their own way and language. On the other hand, teacher performs a kind of continual evaluation in this way and understands students’ misconceptions and tries to remove these errors before beginning new subject. This method is interesting for students so that most of them mentioned that painting the chemistry was new and interesting experience.

Abstract The paper analyses technical equipment of the selected dairy farms. Data from questionnaires carried out in 96 farms in 2015 constituted a research material. Municipalities Lszewo-Borki in Mazowieckie Voivodeship were covered by the survey. A survey questionnaire, which consisted of two parts, was a research instrument. The first concerned general information on a farm and its owner, and the other consisted of eight questions on technical equipment used for breeding dairy cows. The research allowed to determine that farmers assessed the condition of their machinery park as average (50%) or good (40%). One out of ten farmers claimed that the used machinery park in a farm is in a bad condition. Majority of respondents have allotted from PLN 20 to 50 thousand for investments related to enhancement of a machinery park within the last 5 years. On the other hand, a considerable part of farms allotted up to PLN 20 thousand for development of a machinery park. The investigated group included also farms, which allotted more than PLN 500 thousand for development of a park.
