Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan fitokimia dan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak biji langsat dan duku dengan metode DPPH. Biji buah langsat dan buah duku diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut metanol. Skrining fitokimia yang dilakukan meliputi uji alkaloid, flavonoid, tannin, triterpenoid, steroid dan saponin secara kualitatif dengan metode uji warna. Uji aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH dan vitamin C sebagai pembanding, serapan diukur menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 517 nm. Skrining fitokimia pada ekstrak metanol biji langsat menunjukkan hasil positif terhadap alkaloid, triterpenoid dan saponin, sementara pada ekstrak metanol biji duku menunjukkan hasil positif terhadap alkaloid, flavonoid, tannin, triterpenoid, steroid dan saponin. Aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak biji langsat dianalisis menggunakan persamaan garis regresi y = 0,2922x + 33,143, diperoleh IC₅₀ 57,69 μg/mL. Sedangkan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak biji duku dianalisis menggunakan persamaan garis regresi y = 0.6554x + 29.421, diperoleh IC₅₀ 31,40 μg/mL dan pembanding vitamin C diperoleh IC₅₀ 8,03 μg/mL. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak metanol biji buah langsat memiliki kandungan alkaloid, triterpenoid dan saponin serta memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang kuat sedangkan ekstrak metanol biji buah duku memiliki kandungan alkaloid, flavonoid, tannin, triterpenoid dan saponin serta memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat.Kata Kunci: Antioksidan, biji duku, biji langsat Antioxidant Activity of Methanol Extract of Langsat Seeds (Lansium domesticum var. pubescens) and Duku Seeds (Lansium domesticum var. domesticum)  by Using DPPH Method ABSTRACTThis study aimed to determine the phytochemical content and antioxidant activity of langsat seed extract and duku seed extract by using the DPPH method. The result of phytocemical screening on methanol extract of langsat seeds showed positive results on alkaloids, triterpenoids, and saponins, meanwhile methanol extract of duku seeds showed positive results on alkaloids, flavonoids, triterpenoids, tannin and saponins. The antioxidant activity of methanol extract of langsat seeds was analyzed by using the equation of the regression line y = 0.2922x + 33.143, which obtained IC₅₀ value of 57.69 μg/mL. Meanwhile, the antioxidant activity of methanol extract of duku seeds was analyzed by using the equation of the regression line y = 0.6554x + 29.421, obtained IC₅₀ 31,40 μg/mL. Vitamin C obtained IC₅₀ 8.03 μg/mL. On the basis of all results, it can be concluded that the methanol extract of langsat seeds contained alkaloids, saponins and triterpenoid and has a strong antioxidant activity. Meanwhile, the methanol extract of duku seeds contained alkaloids, flavonoids, triterpenoids, tannin and saponins and has a very strong antioxidant activity.Keywords: Antioxidants, duku seeds, langsat seeds

Research on phytochemical screening and antioxidant activity testing of the ethanol extract of buni leaves (Antidesma bunius L. Spreng) has been carried out. This study aims to identify secondary metabolite compounds contained in buni leaf plants to see the activity of the ethanol extract of buni leaves using the DPPH method. Buni leaves were extracted in 96% ethanol by maceration method, then evaporated using a rotary evaporator. The results of thick extract were screened for phytochemicals such as phenolics, tannins, flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, steroids and terpenoids using a qualitative color test method and carrying out antioxidant activity using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer with Vitamin C as a comparison. The results showed that the ethanol extract of buni leaves contained phenolic compounds, tannins, flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, steroids and terpenoids as well as IC50 Vitamin C of 5.22 ppm which is classified as a very strong antioxidant, while the IC50 of buni leaves ethanol extract is lower at 61, 8 ppm which is classified as a strong antioxidant

Abstract: Kesum Plants (Polygonum minus) is one of the endemic plants in West Borneo containing phenolic compounds, steroids, flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, and beta-carotene. Phenolic, flavonoids and beta-carotene are antioxidant compounds. Most phenolic and flavonoid groups are polar compounds. Therefore, in this research used methanol solvent as representative of polar solvent. The purpose of this research  was to know the difference of antioxidant activity of methanol extract of kesum leaves with vitamin C. The extraction  is done by maseration for 3 x 24 hours, where the solvent is changed every 24 hours. The method used to measure antioxidant activity is the DPPH method (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl). The samples used in this paper are methanol extract of  kesum leaves in 80, 65, 50, 35, and 20 ppm with five replications. The comparator used is vitamin C. The result of the research showed that IC50 of methanol extract was 20,632 ppm and IC50 of vitamin C 6,175 ppm. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that vitamin C and methanol extract of serum leaves have a very strong antioxidant activity.Abstrak: Tanaman Kesum (Polygonum minus) merupakan salah satu tanaman endemik di wilayah Kalimantan Barat yang mengandung senyawa golongan fenolik, steroid, flavonoid, alkaloid, tanin, saponin, dan betakaroten. Golongan fenolik, flavonoid dan betakaroten merupakan senyawa antioksidan. Sebagian besar golongan fenolik dan flavonoid merupakan senyawa polar. Maka dari itu, pada penelitian ini digunakan pelarut metanol sebagai perwakilan pelarut polar. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak metanol daun kesum terhadap vitamin C. Proses ekstraksi dilakukan dengan cara maserasi selama 3 x 24 jam, dimana pelarutnya diganti setiap 24 jam sekali. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengukur aktivitas antioksidan adalah metode DPPH (2,2-difenil-1-pikrilhidrazil). Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu ekstrak metanol daun kesum konsentrasi 80, 65, 50, 35, dan 20 ppm dengan pengulangan sebanyak lima kali. Pembanding yang digunakan adalah vitamin C. Hasil penelitian didapatkan IC50 ekstrak metanol daun kesum sebesar 20.632 ppm dan IC50 vitamin C sebesar 6.175 ppm. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa vitamin C dan ekstrak metanol daun kesum memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat.

<p>Purun tikus (<em>Eleocharis dulcis</em>) is a kind of swamp plant, can be found in open water areas, both in swamps and rice fields. <em>Purun tikus</em> is an indicator vegetation of acidic sulfate soil. Chemically, plants that able to adapt to special or extreme conditions, usually produce a compound that are unique and have unique bioactivity as well. This paper reports a phytochemical screening of <em>Purun tikus</em> methanol extract and its antioxidant activity. The results showed that the methanol extract of <em>Purun tikus</em> leaves contained phenolic compounds, flavonoids, tannins and terpenoids. By using DPPH method as an antioxidant test, the methanol extract of purun tikus leaves showed a strong activity, with IC<sub>50</sub> value was 58.58 ppm while vitamin C had an IC<sub>50</sub> value of 4.50 ppm.</p>

ABSTRACT Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is one of the herbal plants from Indonesia. Kratom plants have several benefits overcoming diarrhea, increase endurance, and deal with pain. Kratom leaf has several pharmacological effects, one of which is antioxidant. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of kratom leaf ethanol extract using the 1.1-Diphenyl-2-Pikrilhidrazil (DPPH) method expressed by IC50 values. Kratom leaves were extracted by the 3x24 hour remaceration method using 70% ethanol solvent, then concentrated with a rotary evaporator at 40 ° C, followed by an oven at a temperature (40-50) ° C to obtain a thick extract. Kratom leaf extract contains alkaloid compounds, flavonoids, tannins,and saponins. The antioxidant activity test was carried out with qualitative and quantitative tests.The qualitative antioxidant test was carried out using the Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) method with n-hexane: ethyl acetate (7: 3) eluent, followed by DPPH spraying,which showed positive results giving antioxidant activity. The quantitative test for antioxidants was carried out using the 1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method using a  SpectrophotometerUV-Vis with vitamin C as a comparison. The quantitative antioxidant test was carried out using the 1,1-Diphenyl-2-Pikrilhidrazil (DPPH) method with vitamin C as a comparison. The results of antioxidant activity testing of kratom leaf ethanol extract showed an IC50 value of 91.86 ppm,so that it was included as a powerful antioxidant group. Wualae (Etlingera elatior (Jack) R.M Smith) is one of the plants in the Zingiberaceae family, widely used in medicine ranging from rhizomes, fruits, and flowers. Empirically Wualae are usually used by people for treating skin diseases, flavoring food, a natural soap, and in Southeast Sulawesi, it is used to treat typhoid fever. This study aims to examine the antioxidant activity of Wualae (Etlingera elatior) plant. The plant extracts were extracted by maceration method, antioxidant activity test was performed by 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. The results showed that ethanol extracts of fruits, leaves, stems and rhizomes of Wualae (Etlingera elatior) has the potential antioxidant activity with the IC50 values of 72.518 mg/L, 99.890 mg/L, 52.345 mg/L and 58.638 mg/L, respectively. and Vitamin C has IC50 value of 3,787 mg/L.

ABSTRACTDayak onion plant (Eleutherine americana Merr.) or commonly called forest onion is a typical plant of Central Kalimantan that has been used by local peoples for cure a various types of diseases. This study aims to determine the activity of antioxidant compounds from Dayak bulb ethanol extracts from Kotamobagu City. This research method is an experimental laboratory. Initially the Dayak bulb sample was extracted maceration with 96% ethanol solvent then evaporated until a thick extract was obtained. As a parameter, the DPPH method (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) was used to test the antioxidant activity of the samples at concentrations of 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90 mg / L and as a comparison standard used Vitamin C with concentrations of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 mg / L. The results obtained showed antioxidant activity in Dayak bulb ethanol extracts with IC50 values of 41.46 mg / L and on vitamin C IC50 values of 1.04 mg / L. Based on these results it can be concluded that the onion bulb ethanol extract has very strong antioxidant activity. Keywords: Dayak Onion bulbs, Activity, Antioxidant, DPPH  ABSTRAK Tanaman bawang Dayak (Eleutherine americana Merr.) atau biasa disebut bawang hutan merupakan tanaman khas Kalimantan Tengah yang sudah dipergunakan masyarakat lokal sebagai obat berbagai jenis penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas senyawa antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol bulbus bawang Dayak yang berasal dari Kota Kotamobagu. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratorium. Awalnya sampel bulbus bawang Dayak diekstraksi maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96% kemudian dievaporasi hingga didapatkan ekstrak kental. Sebagai parameter, digunakan metode DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) untuk pengujian aktivitas antioksidan sampel pada konsentrasi 50, 60, 70, 80 dan 90 mg/L dan sebagai standar pembanding digunakan Vitamin C dengan konsentrasi 2, 4, 6, 8 dan 10 mg/L. Hasil penelitian yang didapat menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak etanol bulbus bawang Dayak dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 41,46 mg/L dan pada vitamin C nilai IC50 sebesar 1,04 mg/L. ABSTRACT Sponges are a component of coral reef biota that has bioactive compounds with a greater percentage of activity compared to compounds produced by terrestrial plants. This study aims to determine the presence of antioxidant activity in the ethanol extracts of sponge Ianthella basta from the waters of Tumbak Village. Ianthella basta sponge was extracted using maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. Antioxidant activity testing was carried out using the DPPH method with a concentration of 100 µg / mL, 75 μg / mL, 50 μg / mL, and 25 μg / mL and Vitamin C p.a as positive control. Each sample was made three repetitions of the test. Testing using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The results showed that the ethanol extract of the Ianthella basta sponge had antioxidant activity with a percentage of 48.73% at a concentration of 100 µg / mL. Keywords: Ianthella basta sponge, Antioxidants, Extraction, DPPH  ABSTRAK Spons merupakan salah satu komponen biota penyusun terumbu karang yang mempunyai senyawa bioaktif dengan persentase keaktifan lebih besar dibandingkan dengan senyawa-senyawa yang dihasilkan oleh tumbuhan darat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya aktivitas antioksidan di dalam ekstrak etanol Spons Ianthella basta dari perairan Desa Tumbak. Spons Ianthella basta diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode DPPH dengan konsentrasi 100 µg/mL, 75 µg/mL, 50 µg/mL, dan 25 µg/mL dan Vitamin C p.a sebagai kontrol positif. Masing-masing sampel dibuat tiga kali pengulangan uji. Pengujian menggunakan alat spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ektrak etanol Spons Ianthella basta memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan persentase sebesar 48,73% pada konsentrasi 100 µg/mL. Kata Kunci: Spons Ianthella basta, Antioksidan, Ekstraksi, DPPH

Antioxidants are substances that can slow down the oxidation process of free radicals. Limpasu plant (Baccaurea lanceolata (Miq) Muell. Arg), an indigenous plant of Borneo, is a natural antioxidant source. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of the limpasu pericarpium extract. The extraction of the limpasu pericarpium was done by maceration method using solvents with increasing polarity ranging from n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol. Antioxidant activities of the three extracts were measured by the DPPH and FRAP methods. The IC50 values of n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol extracts, as well as quercetin using the DPPH method were 517,45 µg/mL, 530,64 µg/mL, 10,63 µg/mL and 6,83 µg/mL, respectively. Meanwhile, the IC50 values obtained from FRAP method were 198,96 µg/mL, 190,07 µg/mL, 661,36 µg/mL, and 7,09 µg/mL, respectively. The results revealed that the methanol extract is more potent than other extracts tested for antioxidant activity.
