Antioxidants are substances that can slow down the oxidation process of free radicals. Limpasu plant (Baccaurea lanceolata (Miq) Muell. Arg), an indigenous plant of Borneo, is a natural antioxidant source. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of the limpasu pericarpium extract. The extraction of the limpasu pericarpium was done by maceration method using solvents with increasing polarity ranging from n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol. Antioxidant activities of the three extracts were measured by the DPPH and FRAP methods. The IC50 values of n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol extracts, as well as quercetin using the DPPH method were 517,45 µg/mL, 530,64 µg/mL, 10,63 µg/mL and 6,83 µg/mL, respectively. Meanwhile, the IC50 values obtained from FRAP method were 198,96 µg/mL, 190,07 µg/mL, 661,36 µg/mL, and 7,09 µg/mL, respectively. The results revealed that the methanol extract is more potent than other extracts tested for antioxidant activity.

The Indonesian government enforces a COVID-19 vaccination policy for all, but the achievement rate for the COVID-19 vaccination in Sangihe Islands Regency at the first dose is only 1.05%, while the achievement at the second dose to date is only 0.47%. With this in mind, the vaccination policy has not been in line with community participation. The purpose of this study was to find out what kind of health information is needed to increase the covid-19 vaccination rate. The method used in this research is a descriptive study with a purposive sampling technique which was held from 7 January to 8 February 2021 with a total sample of 85 respondents who are health workers in the Sangihe Islands Regency. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis with frequency distribution. The results in this study were 15.3% stated that they were not willing to vaccinate COVID-19 because 39% of COVID-19 survivors, 38% had comorbidities, 15% were unsure of safety and 8% feared side effects. The conclusion of this study is to increase health information regarding vaccines for COVID-19 survivors, information about comorbidities such as what is appropriate for COVID-19 vaccination, safety, and side effects resulting from the COVID-19 vaccine.

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a new type of coronavirus that causes pneumonia. The clinical severity of COVID-19 is related to the presence of a “cytokine storm” that causes overproduction of inflammatory mediators such as interleukin (IL)-6. Tocilizumab (TCZ) as an IL-6 inhibitor is subject of major studies as a potential therapeutic agent. This study reported 20 cases of COVID-19 patients being treated with the IL-6 inhibitor TCZ beside standard therapy. Patients were followed up on clinical, laboratory and chest x-rays before and after the administration of therapy which were report descriptively. The oxygen saturation of patients who survived shows rapid improvements. The laboratory results showed that CRP decreased after administration TCZ immediately. Meanwhile, other markers improve slowly, such as leucocytes, Neutrophyl Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), Absolute Lymphocyte Count (ALC) and Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) but ferritin was tended to fluctuate. In chest X-ray’s, infiltrate bilateral on admission began to diminished until almost disappeared on the 14th day after TCZ. From 20 patients, 80% of patients survived with improvement in clinical, laboratory and chest X-rays, while the rest death with a good response on first therapy but fluctuated and worsened before death. Tocilizumab can be considered to provide clinical improvements in severe and critical COVID-19 patients.

Coronavirus Diesease-2019 (COVID-19) infection is suspected to affect the sexual behavior and function. The vascular damage related to COVID-19 can affect the impairment of bed blood vessel of penile and finally make the erectile dysfunction (ED). This problem is one of the most common sexual problem in man, with the prevalantion between 13 until 28% at the 40-80 years old, and the incidence increases with higher age. At this time, no data about the effect of COVID-19 to sexual behavior. There was one case of COVID-19 with erectile dysfunction who was treated at Kemayoran Athletes Village COVID-19 hospital. Erectile dysfunction is influenced by several factors; including psychogenic, neurogenic, and infectious. The diagnosis of erectile dysfunction is determined based on the results of history taking and physical examination, using the standard questionnaire (IIEF-5/International index of erectile function-5). A further review is needed to exclude a particular cause, the management can be determined based on the etiology.

Reticulocyte hemoglobin equivalent (RET-He) represents hemoglobin content in reticulocyte. Reticulocyte hemoglobin equivalent test can be used to asses iron status of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Iron deficiency happens in 40% CKD and could lead to anemia manifestation. Level of RET-He gives real-time assesment of iron availability for hemoglobin production and the level will getting lower when iron storage for erythropoiesis decreasing. Reticulocyte hemoglobin equivalent is more stabil than feritin and transferin saturation in assessing iron status. Aim of this study is to determine RET-He level in patients with CKD stage IV and V. This study is  a cross sectional descripstive study. Subjects were 96 CKD stage IV and V patients that met inclusion and exclusion criterias. Subjects conducted blood tests at Central Laboratory Installation Dr. M. Djamil Hospital Padang from July to September 2020. Examination of RET-He level was analyzed by Sysmex XN-1000 flowcytometry fluorescense method. Data was presented in frequency distribution table. The RET-He level below cutoff (<29,2 pg) indicates the need for iron suplementation therapy for CKD stage IV and V patients. Samples with RET-He level below cutoff were 48 (50%) and 48 (50%) were above cutoff.

This study aimed to determine the level of compliance with the use of personal protective equipment as prevention of work accidents. This research was conducted using quantitative methods with a cross-sectional approach in the Emergency Unit and Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Prima General Hospital.   The results showed a relationship between age and adherence to the use of PPE with p = 0.002. There is no correlation between years of service and compliance with the use of PPE with p-value = 0.75. There is a relationship between knowledge of compliance with the use of PPE with p-value = 0.009. There is a relationship between attitudes towards compliance with the use of PPE with p = 0.002. There is a relationship between the availability of facilities and compliance with the use of PPE with a p-value of 0.000. There is a relationship between compliance training on the use of PPE with p-value = 0.004. There is a control relationship to compliance with the use of PPE with p-value = 0.002.

Discoid lupus erythematosus is the most common forms of chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus. It is characterized by clinical manifestations of erythematous macules, papules, or plaques with a coin-like shape and the face is the most common predilection site. Clinical features often resemble granuloma faciale. This case report aimed to distinguish discoid lesions on the face based on the histopathological examination. A 71-year-old male with a few reddish lumps appeared on his face since three months ago. Physical examination showed multiple discrete erythematous plaques with overlying squamous. Hematoxylin and eosin staining on the epidermis demonstrated basket weave type orthokeratosis, basal vacuolar cell degeneration, epidermal atrophy with flat rete ridges, and follicular plugging while in the dermis obtained inflammatory cell infiltrates, especially in periadnexal areas. Histopathological features of DLE are hyperkeratosis, pilosebasea gland atrophy, follicular plugging, basal membrane thickening, and cellular infiltrate in periadnexa or perivascular areas more visible than in other types of CLE. In DLE, no subepidermal gren zone and eosinophil infiltrate were found, like histological features of granuloma faciale. Histopathological examination can be used to establish a diagnosis for discoid lesions on the face, although serology examination remains as the gold standart. Keywords:  Discoid lupus erythematosus; Granuloma faciale; Histopathology
