ABSTRACT Weak economic conditions during the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in a decline in tax revenue in Indonesia. The government seeks to increase economic activity by providing tax incentive programs to taxpayers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the company considers the program as one of the loopholes to practice tax avoidance. This study aims to look at the differences in tax avoidance practices before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The type of data used is quantitative data derived from the annual financial statements. The population in this study are manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2019-2020 period. The sample of this research was taken based on purposive sampling using certain criteria so as to get 78 samples from 39 manufacturing companies. The method used in this study is paired samples t-test analysis using the IBM SPSS Statistics 24 tool. Based on the results of this study, it shows that there is an increase in tax avoidance practices during the Covid-19 pandemi. This resulted in a decrease in state tax revenues during 2020.

Kata kunci: profitabilitas, kepemilikan Keluarga, tata kelola perusahaan, penghindaran pajak ABSTRACTThis study aimed to examine the effect of profitability, family ownership and good corporate governance on tax evasion by focusing on manufacturing companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2011-2014. This study aims to examine and analyze how profit and cash flow individually or collectively could influence the prediction of financial distress. This study uses quantitative data methods using the Altman Z-Score analysis method. Data analysis is performed through Eviews8 software application. The population in this study are all manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in the period from 2015-2018. The samples used are all manufacturing companies with subsector of plastic and packaging. Data analysis in this study uses econometric model with a simultaneous equation system and data panel estimation method. The results of the study prove that profit does not have a significant effect on financial distress. This is supported by t-test analysis which result in a smaller t-count compared to t-table, with the number -1.76 <2.05, therefore, H1 is rejected. On the other hand, cash flow has a significant effect on financial distress, supported by the result of t-test analysis which shows that the t-count is bigger than t-table, with the number 2.67> 2.05. Therefore, H2 is accepted. Whereas, both profit and cash flow have a significant influence on financial distress, which the results of the analysis of the F test is f-count is higher that f-table, with the number 17.45> 170.77. As a result, H3 is accepted

In order to deal with the impact of the global financial crisis, the government lowered the tax rates at the rate of 28% starting in 2009 and will be 25 % starting in 2010. It aims to support the state revenues from taxation so it become more stable. Ratio of profitability that researchers used in this study is Gross Profit Margin, Operating Profit Margin, Return On Investment, and Return On Equity. Researchers conducted the study using descriptive statistical analysis methods with data taken from Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), and processed using SPSS v.20 compare means-paired samples T-test program. The samples are 60 manufacturing companies in 2009 and 2010. The results showed that there was no significant difference between the GPM in 2009 and 2010 with a value of thitung < ttable (1.729 < 2.045) at α = 0.05 . The results also showed that there was no significant difference between the OPM in 2009 and 2010 with a value of thitung < ttable (0.230 < 2.045) at α = 0.05. The results also showed that there was no significant difference between the ROI in 2009 and 2010 with a value of thitung < ttable (0.044 < 2.045) at α = 0.05. And the results of the study also showed that there was no significant difference between the ROE in 2009 and 2010 with a value of thitung < ttable (0.417 < 2.045) at α = 0.05 .

The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of the interaction of political connections with Good Corporate Gavernance (GCG) on tax avoidance. The samples in this study were all manufacturing companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). The method of determining the sample using purposive sampling in accordance with predetermined criteria and obtained a sample of 279. The analysis technique is multiple linear regression. The test results of multiple linear regression analysis show that GCG has no effect on tax avoidance, while the interaction of political connections with Good Corporate Gavernance (GCG) has a significant effect on tax avoidance, so Good Corporate Gavernance (GCG) is proxied by the board of commissioners and audit committee purely moderating while the board of directors is a pseudo variable or quasi moderating. Tax avoidance is an effort to ease the tax burden by not violating the law. Tax avoidance is a complex and unique issue because it does not violate the law (legal) but is unwanted by the government because it reduces state revenue.
