One of the main tasks of botanical gardens is to create and maintain biological collections. There are 5 types of Lycopus in the biological collection of «All-Russian research Institute of medicinal and aromatic plants». One of them is the Lycopus americanus Muhlenberg ex W. P. C. Bart., was the object of this work, as the most difficult in cultivation. In nursery 1-4 years of vegetation researches of growth and development of a Lycopus americanus were carried out. Seeds of Lycopus americanus were received by the exchange Fund from Canada. Sowing was carried out in May 2016 inthe conditions of protected soil in pallets 7×7 cm. Seedlings were grown for two months at a temperature of +18+20 °С and illumination of 1000-1200 lux. In the first decade of July, the nursery was laid with 60-day seedlings according to the scheme 20×60 cm. The area of the plot is 0.8 m2, the repetition is fourfold. Accounting of indicators and processing of results were carried out according to standard methods. Experience in vegetative propagation of Lycopus americanus (2018-2019) got them out from the mother plant and according to the scheme experience, after dividing and planting these divided roots once watered with a solution of homeopathic preparation "Arnica C200" in a concentration of one granule/5 l of water, a flow rate of 5 l/ m2(experiment 1). Of experiment 2, plants after transplantation were once watered with a solution of lactose (milk sugar), the granules of which are filler for homeopathic preparations. The concentration of the solution in option 2 is 1 granule /5 lof water. Control plants were watered with water in the same volume. In the course of the studies it was revealed that the most significant increase in height have plants of the 2nd year of vegetation. The growth decreases with age and in 4-year-old plants reaches minimum. During the season, the greatest increase in height occurs in July and August (in the stalk stage). Watering with a solution of the homeopathic drug "Arnica C200" (experiment 1) during vegetative reproduction of Lycopus americanus causes an increase in height in the first year of vegetation (from 60 days from transplantation) by 30% - 36%. The number of axillary shoots in treated plants by the end of the growing season exceeded the control by 1.6-1.8 times. The dry land mass of treated plants (experiment 1) increased by 34% relative to control group. The treated plants showed an increase in the size of tubers with buds of renewal relative to the control group. The dry mass of the underground part of the treated plants of Lycopus americanus (experiment 1) us by the end of the growing season exceeded that of the control plants by 21%. The average dry mass of 1 tuber at the end of the growing season was 0.63±0.061 gin control plants and 1.17±0.112 gin experimental samples. It is possible to grow Lycopus americanus as a long-term culture in theMoscowregion. The largest increase in biomass of the grain falls on the second year of vegetation. Starting from the third year of vegetation, it is advisable to propagate the plant by dividing the rhizomes in the spring. The homeopathic preparation "Arnica C200" as growth regulator well proved at vegetative reproduction of a Lycopus americanus . Its use causes excessive buildup of Lycopus americanus - storing tubers with the buds of renewal

Outdoor experiments were conducted at two locations in Minnesota to characterize the growth, development, and vegetative reproduction potential of giant burreed grown with and without wild rice. Giant burreed growth was influenced by environment more than the presence of wild rice. Shoots emerged from corms 2 to 3 wk after planting (WAP), and continued throughout the growing season. Giant burreed attained a maximum height of 135 cm with an average 36 shoots/plant. Rhizome production started 4 to 6 WAP, and continued throughout the growing season. Corm formation at the base of shoots started 8 WAP and continued throughout the growing season. Rhizomes grew to a maximum cumulative length of 2500 cm/plant spreading in all directions and produced up to 250 buds/plant. Corm and rhizome bud viability was 15 and 10%, respectively. These data suggest that giant burreed grown in wild rice should be controlled by 2 to 3 wk after emergence to prevent vegetative reproduction.

The growth and development of bulls of red steppe crossbreeds with the Kazakh white-headed breed in the flat province of Dagestan were studied. It was found that young crossbreed animals in comparison with purebred red steppe cattle have a higher live weight at birth by 1,8 kg or 7,3%. When weaning at 8 months of age, cross-bred bulls had a live weight of 210 kg against 187,6 kg in red steppe young, which is 22,4 kg, or 11,9% higher. At 12, 15 and 18 months of age, the live weight of crossbred bulls was 291,8 kg, 359,7 and 436,6 kg, respectively, or 28 kg, 36 and 45,8 kg more than the red steppe cattle. The average daily growth of cross-bred bulls during the growing and fattening period was 760 g compared to 678 g, that is, they were 12,1% higher compared to purebred red steppe young. After the final fattening and slaughter, the cross-bred bulls gave heavy carcasses with good watering. By weight of the paired carcass, they were superior to purebred counterparts by 31,3 kg or 15,6% with an advantage of 2,4% carcass yield. The slaughter yield of bulls in the experimental group was 58,7%, 55,8% in the control group, respectively, with an advantage in favor of crossbreeds of 2,9%. Heavy skins weighing 27,1 kg were obtained from crossbreed bulls, 21,6 kg from purebred ones, and crossbreed animals of 5,5 kg or 25,4% had an advantage in this indicator. Studies have shown that in order to increase beef production in the lowland province of Dagestan, it is necessary to use crossbreeding of the breeding stock of the red steppe breed with bulls of the Kazakh white-headed breed.

Fluoxetine (FLX) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant commonly prescribed during pregnancy and lactation. Pre- and post-partum depression, as well as SSRI treatment during these periods, may change maternal care, interfering with offspring development. Moreover, it is known that SSRIs may alter testes structure and function in offspring. The present study investigated the effects of maternal FLX exposure on maternal behaviour and testes function in offspring. Female Wistar rats were treated with 7.5 mg kg–1 FLX or tap water (control group) by gavage from the Day 1 of pregnancy until 21 days after birth (postnatal Day (PND) 21). Maternal behaviour was evaluated and morphofunctional analyses of offspring testes were conducted on PND 21 and 50. There were no significant differences between the FLX-treated and control groups regarding maternal behaviour. Nor did maternal treatment with FLX have any effect on bodyweight gain, anogenital distance, day of preputial separation, testis weight and the gonadosomatic index in male offspring. However, there was a decreased number of Sertoli cells at both PND 21 and 50 in FLX-exposed male offspring. The findings of the present study demonstrate that maternal exposure to FLX can impair testicular function in weanling and pubertal animals.

Seedlings of 24 European Scots pine (Pinussylvestris L.) populations were grown in controlled environment chambers under simulated photoperiodic conditions of 50 and 60°N latitude to evaluate the effect of seed mass on germination and seedling growth characteristics. Seeds of each population were classified into 1-mg mass classes, and the four classes per population with the highest frequencies were used. Photoperiod had minimal influence on seed mass effects. Overall, seed mass was positively related to the number of cotyledons and hypocotyl height. Populations differed significantly in seed mass effect on biomass. In northern populations (55–61°N), dry mass at the end of the first growing season was little affected by seed mass. However, dry mass in 9 of 15 central populations (54–48°N) and all southern (<45°N) populations correlated positively with seed mass. Relative growth rate was not related to seed mass within or across populations, and thus early growth is largely determined by seed mass. Relative growth rate also did not differ among populations, except for a geographically isolated Turkish population with the highest seed mass and lowest relative growth rate. After one growing season, height was positively correlated (r2 > 0.6) with seed mass in 15 populations. To check the duration of seed mass effects, height growth of 1- to 7-year-old field experiments established with the same seed lots were compared. Seed mass effects on height were strongest for 1-year-old seedlings and declined or disappeared by the age of 5–7 years among central and southern populations, but remained stable over that time in northern populations.

SUMMARY Uptake of tritiated lysine vasopressin ([3H]LVP) was studied in halved neural lobes of rats (which had been given either tap water (control group) or 2% (w/v) NaCl solution as drinking water for 4 days) as well as in slices of pig neural lobe. Uptake of radioactivity into the neural lobes was shown but analysis of the extracts of incubated lobes of both species by ion exchange chromatography showed that very little of it remained in the tissue as hormone. In addition, some radioactivity was associated with trichloroacetic acid-insoluble proteins. After 90 min of incubation, and after correction for the breakdown, the uptake of unchanged [3H]LVP, expressed as a tissue: medium ratio, was 0·14 ± 0·04 and 0·09 ± 0·03 (mean ± s.e.m.) for the saline-treated and control rats respectively, while the tissue: medium ratios for the breakdown product(s) were 6·47 ± 0·45 and 5·50 ± 0·36. The results suggest uptake of [3H]LVP into the cell with almost complete intracellular breakdown of the hormone.

Objective: Evaluation the hypoglycemic effect of Gydenphy capsules on Streptozotocin-induced type 1 diabetic in Swiss mouse model. Methods: The type 1 diabetic model was established by intraperitoneal injections of Streptozocin 150mg/kg in Swiss mouse. Then, the Gydenphy were orally administered daily at a dose of 576 mg/kg/day or 1152 mg/kg/day in 10 days. Blood glucose concentration in the Gydenphy oral groups with that of water control group and the intraperitoneal insulin injection group was compared. Results: Blood glucose concentration in the groups using Gydenphy (dose576 mg/kg/24h and dose 1152 mg/kg/24h) significal decreased compared to the distilled water group at (p <0.05 at the time of 4 hours, 8 hours; p <0.01 at the time of 3, 10 days). The hypoglycemic effect of Gydenphy at 576mg/kg/day and 1152 mg/kg/day at 4 hours, 8 hours and 3 days were inferior to insulin 0.1 UI/kg/day for glycemic control. However, the hypoglycemic effect ofGydenphy were equivalent to insulin after 10 consecutive days on treatment. Conclusion: Gydenphy capsules have hypoglycemic effects onStreptozotocin-induced type 1 diabetes in Swiss mouse model.

Proposition: The purpose of this study was to evaluate in vitro the color changes of esthetic orthodontic elastomeric ligatures of different shades when exposed to four food colorings commonly found in the diet of patients. Materials and Methods: The sample consisted of esthetic orthodontic elastomeric ligatures in the colors pearl, pearl blue, pearl white and colorless, which were immersed for 72 hours in five different solutions: distilled water (control group), coffee, tea, Coca-Cola ® and wine. The color changes of the esthetic orthodontic elastomeric ligatures were measured with the aid of a spectrophotometer, at T1 - as provided by the manufacturer; and T2 - after colorings process. Results: The results indicated that the esthetic orthodontic elastomeric ligatures of all initial hues are susceptible to pigmentation. Among the evaluated colors, all changed the finished look and the color of the samples tested. In ascending order, the color of the samples was as follows: distilled water, Coca-Cola®, black tea, wine and coffee. Conclusion: The substances that have a greater potential for pigmentation in esthetic orthodontic elastomeric ligatures were black tea, wine and coffee, respectively. All shades of esthetic orthodontic elastomeric ligatures are susceptible to color change.

Newborn with low birth weight (LBW) in Indonesia is relatively high even up to 16,9 %. The role of the neonatal nurse is highly expected to provide care for newborn babies with LBW by giving supportive environment. Neonatal Developmental Care (NDC) is one of intervention that aims to implement modifications to the nursery environment and care practices to promote growth and development of newborn with LBW. Most of nurses still have no information related NDC and its implementation in neonatal room. This study aimed to explore the influence of NDC information exposure toward nurse’s attitude. A quasi-experimental with before-and-after design was applied. This study recruited 21 nurses to participate as intervention and control group. The Paired T-Test was performed to analyze the data. The results showed there is an influence of NDC information exposure toward nurse’s attitude in caring for newborn with low birth weight by P-value 0,00. This study recommend that NDC can be one of nursing intervention for caring newborn baby with LBW in order to optimize caring for infant along caring for growth and development during their treatment in hospital.
