Waste has become a problem that is really worrying everywhere. If you pay close attention, there are indeed a number of factors that cause waste problems to become serious. First, population growth. Second, more and more instant food with plastic packaging. Third, the habit of littering, the habit of consuming instant food in packaging, to the habit of throwing garbage without sorting between organic and non-organic waste will damage the ecosystem. The same problem is also experienced by Berbek Village in Sidoarjo Regency, the problem of waste and flooding that is always faced by the city cannot only be the responsibility of the government, but the community as one of the producers of household waste should always help reduce the amount of waste. Thisneeds to provide an understanding to the community of environmental concerns, especially regarding household waste management and water conservation for the future based on water conservation. The results achieved from this activity are that the village community is aware of and understands the importance of a clean environment, there is no garbage scattered, puddles or floods can be reduced, and are able to practice independent waste management methods.

ABSTRAKLimbah bersumber dari berbagai aktivitas manusia diantaranya aktivitas rumah tangga, industri, perdagangan, pertanian, perkantoran, dan sisa pembangunan. Namun aktivitas yang paling banyak menyumbang limbah adalah aktivitas rumah tangga. Pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga di desa masih dilakukan secara tradisional yaitu melalui penimbunan pada lahan kosong. Umumnya masyarakat desa menggunakan cara pembakaran untuk mengatasi penumpukan limbah tersebut. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menambah pengetahuan dan menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk menjaga kelestarian lingkungan melalui pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga secara mandiri. Penyuluhan pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga di desa Kaliploso melibatkan 30 peserta. Penyajian materi diawali dengan memberikan stimulus terkait pengetahuan peserta terhadap limbah rumah tangga dan jenis-jenisnya, kemudian dilanjutkan penyajian materi dengan metode ceramah. Diskusi yang dilakukan setelah penyajian materi diikuti peserta dengan antusias dan menghasilkan ide baru tentang pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga secara mandiri. Hasil kegiatan ini meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat dengan tingkat pemahaman 100% (30 peserta) dan menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat yang dibuktikan dengan munculnya ide percontohan pelaksana pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga jenis anorganik sebanyak 43,33% (13 peserta). Kata kunci: pengelolaan; limbah rumah tangga; desa Kaliploso ABSTRACTWaste comes from human activities such as household activities, industries, commerce, agriculture, offices, and residual of construction. But the most contributing waste is household activities. Management of household solid waste in the village is using traditional methods, by piling up on vacant land. The villagers are burning to overcome the pile. This activity aims to increase knowledge and public awareness to protect the environment through household waste management independently. Education of household waste management in Kaliploso village involves 30 participants. Presentation began by providing stimulus related to participants knowledge of definition and types of household waste, then continued with educate about household waste. The discussion was attended by participants enthusiastically and it produced new ideas about self-management of household waste. The results of this activity increase public knowledge with an understanding level of 100% (30 participants) and raise public awareness as evidenced by the emergence of pilot ideas for implementing inorganic types of household waste management as much as 43.33% (13 participants). Keywords: management; household waste, Kaliploso village

Plastic waste is a garbage that cannot be degradable and very harmful to environmental health conditions because the garbage is included in non-organic waste. In "household plastic waste management in order to prevent environmental pollution, there is  a  problem in  the waste management of household-generated. The problem is 1) how is the policy of setting the plastic waste management household as an effort to prevent environmental pollution in the village of Pedungan district of Denpasar? 2) What are the factors affecting household plastic waste management in Pedungan village? The method in this study is a type of empirical legal research. The approach to the problem used is a fact approach, a case approach, and a sociological approach. In this research, it aims to be able to know the problem solving and to assess the problem in the management of plastic waste in Pedungan village area about the types of garbage, how to manage plastic waste, and the result of plastic waste. Data collection techniques by observation, interviews, and questionnaires, read books and other literature. Analysis of legal data is analyzed and compiled systematically by using qualitative analysis, by analyzing the data obtained from primary and secondary data sources. The waste management is regulated in Decree No. 660/04/I/2019 on the management structure of Pedungan Asri's garbage Bank as household waste management effort, especially in Pedungan village environment.

The habit of Karang Joang people is throwing garbage, inherited from generation to generation. Most of treating’s their garbage are by burning it in the yard, throwing into the garden or the river. The transportation to take garbage that isn’t intensive by city officers and the lack of knowledge in managing the garbage greatly affects the pollution condition of the air, soil and water in the village. This research focuses on the patterns of society in treating organic waste and inorganic. Environmental conditions in the village to make some attention from the city government Balikpapan. Because the village is located in a protected forest manggar should be kept clean. We distributed questionnaires to 500 housewives that are living in 12 areas near the river. We interviewed one of the small shop and 5 housewives about what they buy and how dispose of waste in one day. Approximately 5-7 sachet plastics and around 200-300 grams of organic garbage. And approximately one drum of water is used for one family. Six months after distributing questionnaires and analyzing, we held a workshop with theme on the importance of eco-friendly living, composting of organic garbage, and counseling about bank of garbage program for 32 leaders in the village. Then we try to find solutions about how to build the consciousness and management in solid waste. In this study, some possible solutions have been presented by transfer environmental technologies

ABSTRAKSalah satu dampak dari proses pembangunan adalah pencemaran dan kerusakan lingkungan. Pertumbuhan penduduk yang pesat terutama di daerah perkotaan dengan perilaku membuang sampah yang tidak baik menyebabkan berbagai limbah yang harus diserap oleh lingkungan, terutama limbah domestik atau limbah rumah tangga. Komposisi sampah organik menempati persentase tertinggi hingga 57% di Kota Bandung, dimana limbah sisa makanan yang menempati urutan teratas yaitu sebesar 40%. Masyarakat dan pemerintah saja tidak cukup untuk mengatasi persoalan pengelolaan sampah. Keterlibatan dan partisipasi aktif perusahaan sebagai pihak swasta melalui kegiatan tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan dapat dilakukan melalui program-program yang mendukung pengolahan limbah organik berkelanjutan. Pengembangan program CSR yang baik pada suatu perusahaan sebaiknya dikaitakn dengan kebutuhan dan persoalan yang dihadapi masyarakat sekitar. Model Social Responsible Business Practice, merupakan salah satu jenis program yang bertujuan untuk mensejahterakan masyarakat, tapi juga memiliki korelasi positif dalam peningkatan produktivitas perusahaan secara operasional. Model praktik ini, memungkinkan aktivitas perusahaan yang salah satunya mencakup penyediaan fasilitas yang memenuhi tingkat keamanan dan keselamatan lingkungan dan dapat memelihara aktivitas pembangunan berkelanjutan. PT. Pertamina TBBM Bandung Group merupakan salah satu BUMN yang peduli dengan inovasi penanganan masalah sampah di Kota Bandung, melalui program BU MANIK (Budidaya Maggot dan Pupuk Organik), sejalan dengan program KANG PISMAN (Kurangi, Pisahkan, Manfaatkan) milik pemerintah Kota Bandung, yang bertujuan untuk membudidayakan maggot sebagai media utama pengurai limbah organik serta pakan ternak alami. Efektifitas program ini bergantung pada CSR PT. Pertamina TBBM Bandung Group sebagai lembaga yang memfasilitasi pelaksanaan program dan kelompok bank sampah sebagai komunitas yang diberdayakan, serta keterlibatan masyarakat dan dukungan pemerintah.Kata kunci: CSR, pengelolaan sampah, sumber daya berkelanjutan, pemberdayaan ABSTRACTOne of the impacts of the development process is environmental pollution and damage. Rapid population growth, especially in urban areas with bad waste disposal behavior, causes a variety of waste that must be absorbed by the environment, especially domestic waste or household waste. Pertamina TBBM Bandung Group is one of the BUMN that is concerned with the innovation of handling waste problems in the city of Bandung, through the BU MANIK (Cultivating Maggot and Organic Fertilizer) program, in line with the KANG PISMAN program (Reduce, Separate, Utilize) the Bandung city government, which aims to cultivate maggot as the main media to decompose organic waste and natural animal feed. The effectiveness of this program depends on the CSR of PT. Pertamina TBBM Bandung Group as an institution that facilitates the implementation of programs and groups of waste banks as an empowered community; as well as community involvement and government support.Keywords: CSR, waste management, sustainable resource, empowerment

The waste management in urban areas should get treatment from various parties (communities, governments, and businesses) to prevent environmental damage increases. Waste management can be done in the management area of the Rukun Tetangga (RT) and Rukun Warga (RW) level, also the village level. The main problem for the current partner that doesn’t spread evenly of knowledge and the capabilities in utilizing waste into something that has economic valuable and the low level of public participation in the program launched by the government especially Kampung Berkebun programs that have been implemented at the level of Rukun Warga (RW). Community Service activity is done by providing assistance to communities to manage organic waste in the local environment (communal scale-Rukun Tetangga) program to support the Urban Farming to utilize all potentials and resources that have been owned and has not been utilized properly.

Household waste from approximately three million residents of the city of Bandung, every day reaches approximately 2000 tons or reaches 6195 cubic meters consisting of 65% organic waste, 10% paper, 2% plastic, 1% glass, 1% cloth, 8% metal and other 13%. In terms of waste management, each region has the potential that if managed and utilized properly will help improve their quality of life. Society has an important role in efforts to empower the community, because society is the subject of empowerment. The RT.04 RW 011 administrator at Kompleks Pasirjati Bandung was moved to empower the community in managing household waste through Takakura / composting training. This training aims to empower the community in reducing household waste and in maintaining environmental cleanliness through environmentally friendly waste management. The training participants were residents in the Kompleks Pasirjati neighborhood RT.04, RW. 011 Bandung City, 22 people.

ABSTRAK Desa Sanur Kaja memiliki satu depo pengelolaan sampah khusus untuk menangani sampah yang dihasilkan oleh masyarakat desa yang bernama Depo Cemara. Berdasarkan penelitian sebelumnya diketahui bahwa kegiatan yang berjalan di Depo Cemara menjadi kurang efisien karena tidak semua masyarakat desa memilah dan menerapkan prinsip 3R (reduce, reuse, dan recycle) dalam pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi sejauh mana efektivitas sistem pengelolaan sampah yang sudah dilakukan oleh masyarakat Desa Sanur Kaja dengan membandingkan jumlah sampah yang dikelola oleh rumah tangga dengan prinsip 3R dengan jumlah sampah yang terbuang sehingga diperoleh persentase reduksi sampah. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan menyebar kuesioner kepada responden yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dihitung dengan analisis kesetimbangan massa sampah lalu dianalisis lebih lanjut dengan metode analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian terhadap 96 rumah tangga menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan sampah berbasis masyarakat memiliki efektivitas yang rendah karena reduksi sampah yang terjadi hanya 22,5 persen dalam satu hari dan responden yang melakukan pemilahan sampah rumah tangga sebanyak 44 persen. Masyarakat menyatakan setuju terhadap rencana penerapan prinsip 3R dalam pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga serta menganggap penting ditambahkannya fasilitas-fasilitas pendukung pengelolaan sampah.  ABSTRACT Sanur Kaja Village has a special waste management facility for processing waste produced by the village community, namely Depo Cemara. Based on previous research, it is known that activities that are running at Depo Cemara are less efficient because not all village communities sort waste and apply the 3R (reduce, reuse, and recycle) principle in household waste management. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of the waste management system that has been implemented by the people of Sanur Kaja Village by comparing the amount of waste managed by households with the 3R principle with the amount of waste wasted in order to obtain a percentage of waste reduction. Data collection was obtained by distributing questionnaires to respondents who were determined by purposive sampling technique. The data obtained were then calculated by analyzing the mass balance of waste and then further analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis methods. The results of research on 96 households show that community-based waste management is still not effective because the percentage of waste reduction that occurs in one day only 22,5 percent and respondents who sort household waste are 44 percent. The community agreed to the plan to implement the 3R principle in household waste management and considered it important to add supporting facilities for waste management.

Abstract. A waste management system plays a leading role in the capacity of an area to restart after flooding, as their impact on post-crisis management can be very considerable. Improving resilience, i.e. enabling it to maintain or recover acceptable operating levels after flooding is primordial. To achieve this, we must understand how the system works for bringing any potential dysfunctions to light and taking preventive measures. Functional analysis has been used for understanding the complexity of this type of system. The purpose of this article is to show the interest behind this type of method and the limits in its use for improving resilience of waste management system as well as other urban technical systems1, by means of theoretical modelling and its application on a study site. 1In a systemic vision of the city, urban technical systems combine all the user service systems that are essential for the city to operate (electricity, water supplies, transport, sewerage, etc.). These systems are generally organised in the form of networks (Coutard, 2010; CERTU, 2005).

AbstractThe spread of COVID-19 is posing significant challenges to the household (HH) waste management sectors putting waste personnel and concerned bodies under massive pressure. The chain of collection, segregation, recycling, and disposal of household generated wastes is interrupted. This study aimed to assess how the household waste management chain was disrupted by novel coronavirus in Nepal and find the perception of the people towards the existing household waste management system (HHWMS). A descriptive online survey was carried out among 512 people using a cross-sectional research design and data was collected through a self-administered questionnaire method. Both descriptive, as well as inferential tests, were conducted using SPSS software. The finding of this study showed that 62.3% of respondents were not satisfied with the present HHWMS. Furthermore, there was a significant association of the satisfaction level of household waste management during coronavirus outbreak with gender, waste volume change in lockdown, PPE for waste collectors, and education on waste handling techniques provided by the government sector at 5% level of significance (p < 0.05). Proper HH waste management has become a challenge, and to address this some innovative works such as awareness programs for people, health and hygiene related support to waste workers, and effective policy formulation and implementation should be done by the Government of Nepal.

ABSTRAKKelurahan Nefonaek merupakan salah satu kelurahan di Kota Kupang yang padat penduduknya,hal ini sudah tentu berpengaruh besar pada sampah yang dihasilkan. Karena banyaknya sampah yang dihasilkan, maka seringkali masyarakat membuang tidak pada tempatnya. Seperti yang terjadi di Jalan Supul 2, sampah - sampah dibuang oleh masyarakat di tanah kosong depan perumahan. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan tentang pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga dan praktek pembuatan digester biogas sederhana. Melalui kegiatan ini diharapkan ibu – iubu rumah tangga dapat mengolah sampah rumah tangga menggunakan digester biogas sederhana. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian adalah metode ceramah, tanya jawab, diskusi, simulasi dan praktik. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu ibu – ibu kelompok PKK Nefonaek mendapat pengetahuan tentang cara mengelola sampah organik, serta dapat membuat digester biogas sederhana dengan menggunakan bahan yang ada disekitar perumahan. Kata kunci: sampah organik; pengelolaan sampah; digester biogas sederhana. ABSTRACTKelurahan Nefonaek is one of the urban villages in Kupang City which is densely populated, this of course has a big effect on the waste produced. Because of the large amount of waste generated, people often dispose of it inappropriately. As happened on Jalan Supul 2, the community discards garbage on the empty land in front of the housing. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge about household waste management and the practice of making a simple biogas digester. Through this activity, it is hoped that housewives can process household waste using a simple biogas digester. The methods used in the community service are lecture, question and answer, discussion, simulation, and practice methods.The results of this service were that the women of the Nefonaek PKK group got knowledge about how to manage organic waste, and were able to make a simple biogas digester using materials around the housing. Keywords: organic waste; waste management; a simple biogas digester.
