The main problems faced by fish farmers are waste, uneaten feed and feces.  Which can reduce water quality and have a significant impact on fish growth and survival. This study aims to determine the effect of giving various types of probiotics on the growth rate and viability of Mutiara catfish raised using the biofloc system. We used Lactobacillus sp., Bacillus subtilis, and Nitrobacter as probiotic bacteria. This study used a completely randomized design experimental method with 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely K = probiotic less/control, P1= Lactobacillus probiotic, P2= Bacillus subtilis probiotic, P3= Nitrobacter probiotic. Catfish are reared for 30 days, feeding 3 times a day with FR 5% of body biomass. The parameters observed were absolute length growth, survival, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) and Specific Growth Rate (SGR) which were analyzed using ANOVA (P <0.05) and Duncan's test to see the differences between treatments. The results showed that the bacteria probiotic treatment had no significant effect on FCR and fish survival, but had a Lactobacillus sp significant effect on growth in absolute length (3.96 ± 0.06 cm) and the growth rate of daily specific weight (5,45±0,18 %/day).  To increase the length and weight growth of catfish fry, probiotic bacteria of the type Lactobacillus sp. on cultivation media.Key words :biofloc, growth rate, lactobacillus, mutiara catfish, probiotics

The thyroxine has been known as a hormone that can increase fish growth especially in the larvae stage. The provision of hormone thyroxine on larvae fish can be conducted through dipping. Determination of dipping time are very important to increase growth. The purposes of this research are determining the optimum dipping time for the growth and survival rate of snakehead larvae. This research was done at Laboratorium Dasar Perikanan, Aquaculture, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya, Indralaya. The method used Competely Randomized Design (RAL) with five treatments and three replicates, with dipping time are 24, 27, 30, 33 and 36 hours. The parameters observed are the absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, survival rate of larvae and water quality (temperature, pH and disolved oxygen). The results showed that the duration of immersion in thyroxine hormone solution in snakehead larvae showed relatively faster growth on treatment (P5) with 36 hours of dipping time. While the regression test result showed the optimal growth of snakehead larvae at the time immersion for 27,92 – 29,49 hours. Thyroxine hormone increased the growth of snakehead larvae but has no statistically significant effect. The length of time of thyroxine hormone 24-36 hours with a dosage of 0.1 mg l-1 did not affect the survival of snakehead larvae. Water quality of maintenance media is still tolerance for supporting the growth and survival of snakehead larvae.

In aquaculture, fish feed is one of the factors that determine success in aquaculture. Besides, the feed also contributes significantly to costs reaching 60-70% of production costs. Based on this, it is necessary to use techniques to increase the protein of the feed; one of them is by fermentation. In addition, waste from the feed is also a problem in the aquaculture business. To overcome these problems, it is necessary to make a breakthrough in the aquaculture system, one of these is using a biofloc system by utilizing heterotrophic bacteria. Besides improving water quality, biofloc also provides in situ feed, so it would reduce feed costs by increasing the value of feed efficiency. This study aims to analyze the application of fermented protein feed on growth and feed conversion of catfish (Clarias sp.) using the biofloc system. This research was carried out in the catfish culture at punteut mosque village using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method by applying three treatments and three replications to obtain nine experimental units. One of the factors that greatly influence the successful growth of cultivated fish is feed. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of iodine addition on the growth and survival rate of carp (Cyprinus carpio) seeds. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) method with 4 treatments and 3 replications. 10 fish per unit each, with treatment P0 (feed without adding iodine), P1 (feed + iodine at a dose of 10 mg / kg), P2 (feed + iodine at a dose of 20 mg / kg), P3 (feed + iodine at a dose of 30 mg / kg). The results showed that there was no significant effect (p> 0.05) on the growth rate, feed conversion and survival rate of goldfish. So it can be concluded that the addition of iodine in feed supplementation up to a dose of 30 mg / kg does not have a significant effect on the growth rate of length and absolute weight, feed conversion, survival rate and iodine content in the body of goldfish (Cyprinus carpio). The best recommended dose of iodine for growth is 20 mg / kg of feed, although the results were not significantly different for growth. However, it can have an effect on the iodine content in the body of goldfish.
