Dalam usaha budidaya ikan, pakan merupakan salah satu faktor yang menentukan keberhasilan dalam budidaya. Selain itu pakan juga memberikan kontribusi yang besar terhadap biaya mencapai 60-70% dari biaya produksi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut perlu dilakukan teknik untuk meningkatkan kadar protein dari pakan, salah satunya dengan cara fermentasi. Selanjutnya limbah dari pakan juga merupakan suatu kendala dalam usaha budidaya. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut perlu dilakukan terobosan dalam sistem budidaya, salah satunya dengan menggunakan system bioflok dengan memanfaatkan bakteri heterotrofik. Selain memperbaiki kualitas air, bioflok juga menyediakan pakan secara insitu, sehingga mampu mengurangi biaya pakan dengan meningkatkan nilai efesiensi pakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis aplikasi pakan berprotein terfermentasi terhadap pertumbuhan dan konversi pakan ikan lele (Clarias sp.) menggunakan sistem bioflok. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan ditempat pembudidayaan lele di desa mesjid punteut dengan menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan mengaplikasikan 3 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan sehingga diperoleh 9 satuan percobaan. Parameter yang diamati dalam penelitian ini meliputi laju pertumbuhan ikan, kelangsungan hidup dan efesiensi pakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian probiotik pada pakan memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap laju pertumbuhan ikan 4.95%, tingkat kelangsungan hidup 97.77% dan efesiensi pakan 98.86%.Kata kunci: bioflok; ikan lele; kinerja; probiotik In aquaculture, fish feed is one of the factors that determine success in aquaculture. Besides, the feed also contributes significantly to costs reaching 60-70% of production costs. Based on this, it is necessary to use techniques to increase the protein of the feed; one of them is by fermentation. In addition, waste from the feed is also a problem in the aquaculture business. To overcome these problems, it is necessary to make a breakthrough in the aquaculture system, one of these is using a biofloc system by utilizing heterotrophic bacteria. Besides improving water quality, biofloc also provides in situ feed, so it would reduce feed costs by increasing the value of feed efficiency. This study aims to analyze the application of fermented protein feed on growth and feed conversion of catfish (Clarias sp.) using the biofloc system. This research was carried out in the catfish culture at punteut mosque village using the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method by applying three treatments and three replications to obtain nine experimental units. Parameters observed in this study include fish growth rate, survival and feed efficiency. The results showed that the administration of probiotics in feed gives the best results on fish growth rate of 4.95%, survival rate of 97.77% and feed efficiency of 98.86%.Keywords: biofloc; catfish; performance; probiotics

Pakan merupakan bagian utama dalam menunjang keberhasilan kegiatan budidaya yang dilakukan. Dengan demikian, diperlukan kajian yang intensif untuk mencari formulasi yang tepat agar tujuan tersebut dapat tercapai secara optimal. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji persentase yang optimal antara ampas tahu dengan pelet untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan ikan lele sangkuriang dan menekan biaya pakan seminimal mungkin. Metode analisa data yang digunakan berupa rancangan acak kelompok non-faktorial dengan 5 (lima) perlakuan dan 3 (tiga) kali ulangan, selanjutnya data dianalisis dengan uji F. Perlakuan tersebut berupa: 1) Pakan A: Ampas tahu 80% + pelet 20%; 2) Pakan B: Ampas tahu 60% + pelet 40%; 3) Pakan C: Ampas tahu 40% + pelet 60%; 4) Pakan D: Ampas tahu 20% + pelet 80%; dan 5) Pakan E: Pelet 100% (kontrol). Parameter penelitian meliputi efisiensi pakan, laju pertumbuhan ikan, dan kelangsungan hidup. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai efisiensi pakan terbaik pada pakan kontrol (pelet) sebesar 77,61%, laju pertumbuhan harian ikan lele sangkuriang yang terbaik diperoleh dari pakan pelet (kontrol) sebesar 3,64%. Sementara untuk kelangsungan hidup yang terbaik didapat pada perlakuan pakan B dan C yaitu sebesar 100%.Feed is a major part in the success of farming activities undertaken. Thus, the necessary intensive study to find the right formulation so that these objectives can be achieved optimally. This study was conducted to test the optimal percentage of tofu by product (TbP) with the pellets to increase fish growth and suppress catfish feed costs to a minimum. Data analysis method used in the form of non-factorial randomized design with 5 (five) treatments and 3 (three) replications, then the data were analyzed by F test. These treatments include: 1) Feed A: TbP 80% + 20% pellets; 2) Feed B: TbP 60% + 40% pellets; 3) Feed C: TbP 40% + 60% pellets; 4) Feed D: TbP 20% + 80% pellets; and 5) Feed E: Pellet 100% (control). Parameter research include feed efficiency, growth rate of fish, and survival. The results showed that the best feed efficiency in the control diet (pellets) amounted to 77.61%, daily growth rate of fish catfish are best obtained from feed pellets (control) of 3.64%. While survival is best obtained at treatment of feed B and C equal to 100%.

Tanaman wori merupakan salah satu tanaman kelompok fabaceace yang tumbuh melimpah di Sangihe dan sangat potensial digunakan sebagai salah satu sumber pakan ikan. Kadar protein daun wori adalah 25,53% sehingga berpotensi menjadi protein nabati bagi ikan. Kendala utama yang ditemui ketika memanfaatkan daun tanaman wori adalah kandungan karbohidrat yang tinggi yaitu 48,51% sehingga dapat mempengaruhi proses pencernaan ikan, penyerapan nutrisi yang berujung pada rendahnya pertumbuhan ikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh tepung daun wori femerntasi terhadap laju pertumbuhan spesifik dan sintasan hidup ikan nila. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan yang dilakukan terdiri dari tiga perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan yaitu kadar tepung daun wori tanpa fermentasi A (kontrol) 10%, kemudian B tepung daun wori fermentasi (10%), dan C tepung daun wori fermentasi (20%). Laju pertumbuhan spesifik dan efisiensi pakan diuji menggunakan ANOVA sedangkan sintasan hidup akan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penambahan tepung wori fermenasi dalam pakan dapat meningkatkan nilai laju pertumbuhan spesfik ikan nila dan efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan dengan nilai tertinggi pada perlakuan C yaitu SGR 1,94%/hari. Sementara itu, untuk semua perlakuan nilai sintasan hidup sebesar 100%.   The wori plant is one of the plants of the fabaceace group that grows abundantly in Sangihe and has potential to be used as a source of fish feed. The protein content of wori leaves is 25.53%, so it has the potential to become vegetable protein for fish. The main obstacle encountered when utilizing wori plant leaves is the high carbohydrate content of 48.51% so that it can affect the digestion process of fish, nutrient absorption which lead to low fish growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of wori femerntation leaf meal on the specific growth rate and survival of tilapia. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD). The treatments consisted of three treatments and three replications, namely the content of fermented wori leaf powder, A (control) 10%, then B fermented wori leaf powder (10%), and C fermented wori leaf powder (20%). Specific growth rate and feed efficiency were tested using ANOVA, while survival rate was analyzed descriptively. The results of this study indicate that the addition of fermented wori powder in the feed can increase the value of the specific growth rate of tilapia and feed utilization efficiency with the highest value in treatment C, namely SGR 1.94% / day. Meanwhile, for all treatments the survival rate was 100%.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of probiotic EM4 (Evective Microorganism-4) in feed to growth and gouramy ointment (Osprhronemus gouramy) at the Freshwater Fish Seed Development Center in Gorontalo Province. The method of this research is experimental method and data processing using completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments 3 replicates. The treatment is done with different doses which in treatment A (Without Probiotic), B ( probiotic 1 cc), C (probiotic 2 cc), D (probiotic 3 cc). The parameters observed were growth rate, Feed Conversion (KP). Feed Efficiency (EP), and Absolute Length (PM). The data were tested continued using the LSD test (Least Significance Different). The results showed that the effect of giving EM4 probiotic with different dose to the growth rate of gouramy fish (Osprhronemus gouramy) gave a very real effect, and from the four research results it was found that treatment D with 3 cc dose was the highest value, followed by C 2 treatment cc, treatment B with a dose of 1 cc and the lowest is in treatment A (Control). Keywords : Probiotic EM-4, gouramy (Osprhronemus gouramy), Growth.

The main problems faced by fish farmers are waste, uneaten feed and feces.  Which can reduce water quality and have a significant impact on fish growth and survival. This study aims to determine the effect of giving various types of probiotics on the growth rate and viability of Mutiara catfish raised using the biofloc system. We used Lactobacillus sp., Bacillus subtilis, and Nitrobacter as probiotic bacteria. This study used a completely randomized design experimental method with 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely K = probiotic less/control, P1= Lactobacillus probiotic, P2= Bacillus subtilis probiotic, P3= Nitrobacter probiotic. Catfish are reared for 30 days, feeding 3 times a day with FR 5% of body biomass. The parameters observed were absolute length growth, survival, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) and Specific Growth Rate (SGR) which were analyzed using ANOVA (P <0.05) and Duncan's test to see the differences between treatments. The results showed that the bacteria probiotic treatment had no significant effect on FCR and fish survival, but had a Lactobacillus sp significant effect on growth in absolute length (3.96 ± 0.06 cm) and the growth rate of daily specific weight (5,45±0,18 %/day).  To increase the length and weight growth of catfish fry, probiotic bacteria of the type Lactobacillus sp. on cultivation media.Key words :biofloc, growth rate, lactobacillus, mutiara catfish, probiotics

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) has economic value due to high consumer demand, relatively affordable price, favorable taste and high tolerance to the environment. Constraints faced by farmers is the high feed prices because raw materials such as fish meal is still imported. So need to find alternative raw materials such as golden snail flour which has a cheap price. The purpose of this study is to analyze the proportion of the right golden snail flour in the fish feed so as to provide maximum growth rate for the seeds of tilapia gift. The experimental design used was Completely Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of 5 treatments with 3 replications. The parameters observed were growth rate and feed efficiency. The experimental results showed that the C treatment (0.19 g/day) was the highest growth rate and the highest feed efficiency in treatment C was 88.03%. Maka perlu mencari bahan baku alternatif seperti tepung keong mas yang memiliki harga yang murah.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis proporsi tepung keong mas yang tepat dalam pakan ikan sehingga mampu memberikan laju pertumbuhan yang maksimal bagi benih ikan nila gift. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan ialah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan. Parameter yang diamati adalah laju pertumbuhan dan efisiensi pakan. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan C (0,19 g/hari) merupakan laju pertumbuhan yang tertinggi dan efesiensi pakan tertinggi pada perlakuan C yaitu 88,03 %. Abstract Feed costs represent ~50% of beef production costs making selection for improved efficiency without affecting female reproduction critical to the cow/calf sector. Objectives were to determine the relationship between post-weaning feed efficiency and female fertility in commercial (n = 19) and half-blood Lowline-influenced Angus heifers (n = 20). Yearling heifers were delivered to the CSU, Chico Farm cattle feeding unit 45-d post weaning and randomly assigned to one of three 7 x 18 m pens, equipped with GrowSafe feeding units. Heifers were given ad libitum access to water and a forage-based diet targeting 0.68 kg gain/d (TDN: 54%, CP: 14%, and NDF: 39.7%, on a DM basis) for 72-d. Feed efficiency measures included dry matter intake (DMI), feed conversion ratio (FCR) and residual feed intake (RFI). Heifer RFI was calculated as the difference between predicted DMI and actual DMI during the trial. Feed efficiency groups were identified as: 1) low RFI (0.5 SD above the RFI mean), 2) marginal RFI (+/- 0.5 SD about the RFI mean), and 3) high RFI (0.5 SD above the RFI mean). Serial weights were taken every 14-d to calculate average daily gain (ADG) and metabolic midweight (MMWT). Heifers were synchronized using a 14-d CIDR-PG protocol. Heifers received PG injection 16-d post-CIDR removal and were equipped with an estrous detection patch. Estrous behavior was observed morning and evening for 90-h. Heifers were artificially inseminated (AI) 12-h post-standing estrus and injected with 2 mL GnRH. Pregnancy determination via rectal palpation occurred 6-mos after initial AI. Reproductive measures included: first service conception (FSC), pregnancy rate (PR), and response to estrous synchronization (RES). Reproductive traits were analyzed using the GLM procedures of SPSS with a binary logistic response. Breed type and feed efficiency group were independent variables. Relationships among reproductive measures and performance were analyzed using logistic regression of SPSS, fitting the independent variables of ADG, DMI, and RFI. Traits FSC, PR, and RES did not differ among breed types or feed efficiency groups (P &gt; 0.05) and DMI, ADG and RFI were not predictors of FSC, PR, nor RES (P &gt; 0.05). Cumulatively, results indicate there is no relationship between feed efficiency and reproductive performance. Producers can select for low RFI to decrease feed costs without compromising reproductive performance.

Background: Research on supplementing feed with rice husk activated charcoal was carried out to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of rice husk activated charcoal on the growth and histological features of the Caranx ignobilis intestine. Methods: This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design consisting of six treatments and four replications, including adding activated charcoal to feed at concentrations of 0%, 1%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.5%, and 3% for 42 days. The measured parameters included daily growth rate (DGR), specific growth rate (SGR), absolute growth rate (AGR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), feed efficiency (FE), survival rate (SR), length of foveola gastrica, width of foveola gastrica, length of intestinal villi, and width of intestinal villi. Data were analyzed statistically using one-way analysis of variance and Duncan’s test. Results: The results showed that supplementing fish feed with rice husk activated charcoal at different concentrations significantly affected the values of DGR, AGR, FCR, FE, SR, length of the foveola gastrica, length of the villous intestine, and width of the villous intestine, but did not significantly affect SGR or foveola gastrica width. Conclusion: The 2% rice husk activated charcoal treatment showed the best results for all parameters.

This research was purposed is to find the optimum current for growth and growth of Bonylip Barb fingerlings (Osteochilus hasselti C.V). Method used in this research is compelitely Randomized Design (CRD), consists of three treatments and four replications. The treatments are : A (without current or (control), B (with 0.1 ms-1 water current) and C. (0.1 ms-1 water current cabined with venture aeration). Bonylip Barb of 4 – 6 cm size are kept as many as 15 fish / x Liters and the amount of feed given is adjusted to the feeding rate (FR) of 10 % of Bonylip Barb biomass carried out every three times a day and adjusted for growth every ten days. Water quality during maintenance (40 days) was observed once every 10  days while survival, absolute weight growth, daily growth rate, feed conversion ratio and feed efficiency were observed every ten days. After 40 days of maintenance,  the best result showed 0.1 ms-1, with 100% survival rate , 6.09 g absolute growth, 3.13% specific growth rate , 3.48% feed conversion ratio was , and  30.04%. feed efficiency.

Feed is one of the production costs which accounts for 65% of the total production cost of sangkuriang catfish (Clarias sp.) cultivation, so there is a need for alternative feed ingredients that can reduce feed costs. The use of local raw materials in making feed can be an alternative in cultivation activities and is expected to reduce production costs. This study aims to determine the effect of feeding local raw materials with different proteins on the growth of catfish seeds and to analyze the cost of feed production. This research was conducted on March 20 to June 18 2020 at the Integrated Field Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The research design used was a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely feed A (32%), feed B (30%), feed C (33%) and feed D (36). The data obtained were analyzed by using the ANOVA test and followed by the Duncan test. The parameters observed in this study were absolute weight growth, daily growth rate, feed conversion ratio, survival rate, protein retention, water feed resistance, feed cost analysis and water quality. The results showed that D feed with 36% protein treatment had a significant effect on the feed conversion ratio of sangkuriang catfish. Feed D resulted in the lowest FCR of 0.58.

Tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) is one of freshwater fish that preferred by the community and also in high demand by fish farmers. It has a high selling value and easy to maintain but the growth is slow. One alternative that can be used to improve the fish growth is making rations with the addition of Moringa oleifera leaves. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of Moringa leaves powder on the growth rate and health of C. macropomum. This study used an experimental method with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The data were analyzed using ANOVA Test in α =95%. The results showed that P3 with the addition of 30% Moringa leaves powder could increase the growth of Colossoma macropomum. An increase in fish body weight, width, and length was 40.1%, 21.6%, and 6.4% respectively.  Results of ocular, reflex, and defensive test showed that the fish were in healthy condition compared to their condition before acclimatization. The conclusions of this study is that the addition of Moringa leaves powder in an influential ration can increase the growth and maintain the health of C. macropomum. M. oleifera daily supplement can be used as a substitute for soy flour to promote growth and health of Colossoma macropomum in the seed phase. The addition of M. oleifera can be used as feed supplements to improve the growth and health of Colossoma macropomum.
