Unfortunately, listening activities are rarely given to students. The problem is formulated as follow: “Is there any significant difference of using video podcast toward listening comprehension of students majoring in Multimedia at the first grade of SMK 4 Metro?”.The research design was quasi-experimental. The students Majoring in Multimedia at first grade SMK 4 Metro as population. To assess the students’ listening comprehension, the researcher used a written test. Based on the result, the significance score of 0.002 was smaller than t table 0.05, which meant that Ha was accepted and there was a significant difference between students who taught by using podcast and those who were not. Introduction. The current situation in the higher education system is characterized by a rethinking of the applied learning technologies and forms of interaction of its participants. The purpose of this study is the theoretical validation and empirical evaluation of the video podcast technology reliability in distance Learning, the central idea of which is the thematic video podcasts creation by students in team work with the teacher’s tuition in the LMS Moodle, H5P. Materials and methods. The study involved 100 students of Togliatti State University majoring 23.05.01 "Land transport technological complexes" (level of specialist). Main research methods: the method of theoretical analysis and modeling, experimental training, the method of mathematical statistics and graphical representation of data. Evaluation of the reliability and the effectiveness of the developed technology were carried out using the Wilcoxon T-test. Results of the study. This technology includes a set of psychological and pedagogical principles; a bank of interactive tasks and methodological recommendations for students to create a video podcast; technical equipment for feedback and online teacher-students interactive team work. Referring to the CEFR, we have developed the Scale of controlled skills: linguistic aspect (Range, Accuracy, Coherence), pragmatic aspect (Interaction, Technical skill, Timemanagmen skill), sociolinguistic aspect (Fluency, Mediation) mastered with the Video podcast technology in distance ESP teaching, and designated their descriptors. The semester experimental training showed: linguistic skills of students increased by 38 %; pragmatic skills by 58%, sociolinguistic skills by 42%. The application of the Wilcoxon T-test under the condition p < 0,05 and Texp < Tcr (in our case Texp= 2,5, Tcr = 3, i.e. Texp < Tcr) proves the obtained results reliability and indicates the technology effectiveness. Conclusion. The developed technology is applicable at any stage of ESP teaching and enhances the organization process of the students’ activities in a distance education.

The aim of this paper was to describe the development of ‘Traum’cast’, an ambitious project to create a high-quality, open-access, 12-week video podcast programme providing evidence-based continuing medical education for civilian and military healthcare practitioners dedicated to the management of trauma caused by weapons of war. The management of such patients became a particular public health issue in France following the 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris, which highlighted the need for all healthcare professionals to have appropriate knowledge and training in such situations. In 2016, the French Health General Direction asked the French Military Medical Service (FMMS) to create a task force and to use its unique and considerable experience to produce high-quality educational material on key themes including war injuries, combat casualty care, triage, damage control surgery, transfusion strategies, psychological injury and rehabilitation. The material was produced by FMMS and first broadcast in French and for free, on the official FMMS YouTube channel in September 2020. Traum’cast provides evidence-based continuing medical education for civilian and military healthcare practitioners. Traum’cast is an educational innovation that meets a public health requirement.

This study explored the effectiveness of using the Khan academy video podcast as a supplemental tool in the chemistry class of Engineering programs. This study utilized a quasi-experimental equivalent design with a post-test only. Thirty 1st year non-STEM students, equally distributed to control and experimental groups, were selected using a matched paired sampling method to participate in a two-week-long intervention. As results revealed, its utilization as a supplemental tool had a viable impact on the students performance in chemistry. Its utilization significantly increased their test scores as compared to the students who did not use it. Likewise, a post-exposure self-report survey was administered to shed light on the learning experience of using the supplemental tool. They indicated the cognitive advantage and personalized experience of using the Khan Academy. This study can contribute to the literature of Khan Academy in the chemistry field. Nonetheless, several limitations need to be addressed to augment future research. Considering the inclusion of more topics, longer time of experimentation, size of the sample, and explicit study of their behavior, for instance, can help establish the veracity of the future results.
