The study investigated the strength of peer influence as determinants of university-community preference for GSM service providers in Ondo State, Nigeria. Two research questions were raised to guide the study. The study adopted a descriptive research survey. The population for this study consisted of the undergraduate students, academics staff and non-teaching staff of universities in Ondo State who were subscribers to each of the various popular service providers in Ondo State, Nigeria, namely, MTN, Globacom (Glo), Airtel and Etisalat (now 9mobile). The four universities have 34,246 students, 1,642 academic staff and 2,743 non-teaching staff totaling 38,631. Random sampling technique was used to select the sample of three thousand, and eight hundred and sixty-five (3,865) respondents. Questionnaire was used for data collection; the reliability was done by using Gultman Split-half method with a r-value of 0.859. Completed copies of the questionnaire were retrieved from the respondents, 3,863 copies of the instrument were distributed 3,671 copies were collected and used for analysis. The data generated was analyzed using descriptive statistics, charts, mean, standard deviation and percentage. The findings of the study revealed that majority of the respondents are students and friends pressurized themselves to use the network they have been using, it was recommended that, the students should be careful not to be influenced by friends to choose a wrong network provider that might affect them in their academics. This paper investigated conflict management strategies in tertiary institutions in Ondo State. As a descriptive survey, the study population comprised all the staff and the management of three institutions. For the study sample, two hundred and ten was selected by stratified sampling technique. The instrument for data collection was 45 items Likert-type questionnaire tagged ‘Conflict Management Strategies Questionnaire’ (CMSQ). The reliability of the instrument was determined through test-retest method and the reliability co-efficient was 0.86. The content and face validity of the instrument was carried out by one expert in Test and Measurement, an expert in Psychology of Education; and an expert in Guidance and Counselling. The data collected were analyzed using frequency count, percentages, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), and Multiple Regression. It was found that conflict in Federal University of Technology (FUTA), Rufus Giwa Polytechnic and Adeyemi College of Education occurred frequently. Nonpayment of salaries as at when due was the major cause of conflict in these institutions. The most effective conflict management strategies used was participatory decision strategy. Based on the findings, it was ascertained that role conflict occurred between academic staff and professional administrators; and conflict management strategies were critical variables in the school system. It was recommended that the academic and professional administrators should continue to demonstrate spirit of tolerance so as to ensure the smooth running of university, polytechnic and the college.

This study aims to determine the extent to which the teaching staff in the Semarang State Polytechnic Accounting Department applies a style of speech; i.e. either oratory, deliberative, consultative, relaxed, or intimate. The data collection is done by questionnaire and class observation. The population of this study consists of teaching staff at the Semarang State Polytechnic Accounting Department. The data is more qualitative, which is more in the form of a description of the characteristics of the respondents and not much related to the numbers. Sampling technique is done by population, namely all teaching staff of Semarang State Polytechnic Accounting Department. Data analysis is carried out by a Likert Scale of 5. The results indicate that Consultative Speech is the style most widely applied by the Teaching Staff of the Semarang State Polytechnic Accounting Department, while the oratoric speaking style is the least practiced style. Extemporan presentation method is the most widely applied method in the activities of the Teaching and Learning Process in the Semarang State Polytechnic Accounting Department, while the impromptu method is the least applied method. The most widely used body language is a smile, while eye flicker is the least applied body language. The distance between the Teaching Staff and Students in the Teaching and Learning Process activities that are most widely applied are groups (125-350 cm), while the least applied distance is intimate (50 cm). The results of this study support the previous research that the use of Body Language greatly affects the success of the Teaching and Learning process.

Some students perceive lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) positively, even though LGBT is a sexual deviation that is not appropriate with values and norms. There are several factors that influence an individual's perception of LGBT, including sexual identity. This study aims at looking at the contribution of sexual identity to student perceptions about LGBT. This research used a quantitative approach with a descriptive method and a simple linear regression analysis. The sample of this research was 385 taken from 15.752 undergraduate students of Universitas Negeri Padang which the sample was drawn by using the Slovin formula and continued with a Proportional Random Sampling technique. The instrument used was the Guttman model's sexual identity scale and the scale of students' perceptions of the LGBT Likert model. After analyzing the data with the descriptive technique and the simple linear regression analysis, the results showed that sexual identity significantly contributed to the students' perceptions of LGBT. This research has implications as a basis for counselors to help students avoid sexual identity mismatches and prevent the emergence of positive perceptions of LGBT.

<p>Perilaku seksual remaja di Indonesia saat ini sudah sangat mengkhawatirkan, termasuk di Kalimantan Barat, khususnya Kota Pontianak. Faktor yang melatar belakangi perilaku seks pranikah remaja, baik faktor internal maupun eksternal. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa determinan perilaku seks pranikah, antara lain pengetahuan, efikasi diri, pengaruh teman sebaya, peran orangtua. Salah satu model yang dapat diterapkan sebagai prevensi primer seks pranikah remaja adalah <em>information, motivation, and behavior skill </em>(IMB). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengaplikasikan model IMB sebagai prevensi primer perilaku seks pranikah remaja, melalui peningkatan informasi, motivasi, dan skill dalam menolak ajakan seks pranikah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu (Quasi Eksperimen) jenis one group pretest-posttest design. Jumlah sampel yaitu 31 reponden. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah <em>Total Sampling</em>. Data diperoleh dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan uji wilxocon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan informasi, motivasi dan keterampilan seta niat terhadap hasil analisis statistik terhadap informasi, motivasi dan keterampilan yang diperoleh nilai 0,000 &lt;0,05. Sedangkan untuk hasil analisis statistic niat diperoleh nilai p = 0,006 &lt;0,05. Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara informasi, motivasi, keterampilan serta niat siswa dengan menerapkan model IMB di MTS Aswaja Pontianak Barat. Dengan demikian model IMB efektif sebagai pencegahan primer untuk mencegah perilaku seks pranikah pada remaja.</p><p> </p><p><em>Teenage sexual behavior in Indonesia is currently very worrying, including in West Kalimantan, especially Pontianak City. Factors underlying the premarital sexual behavior of adolescents, both internal and external factors. Some studies show that the determinants of premarital sex behavior include knowledge, self-efficacy, peer influence, parental role. One model that can be applied as the primary prevention of premarital sex for adolescents is information, motivation, and behavior skills (IMB). The purpose of this study was to apply the IMB model as a primary prevention of adolescent premarital sexual behavior, through increasing information, motivation and skills in rejecting premarital sex requests. This study uses a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods of one group pretest-posttest design. The number of samples is 31 respondents. The sampling technique is total sampling. Data were obtained using a questionnaire and analyzed by the Wilxocon test. The results of the study for 3 interventions with 60 minutes showed that there was an increase in information, motivation and skills and intentions. the results of statistical analysis of information, motivation and skills obtained value of 0,000 &lt;0.05. As for the results of statistical analysis of intentions the value of p = 0.006 &lt;0.05 is obtained. There is a meaningful relationship between information, motivation, skills and student intentions by applying the IMB model in MTS Aswaja, West Pontianak. Thus the IMB model is effective as a primary prevention to prevent premarital sexual behavior in adolescents</em></p>

Abstract Introduction Academic stress and study habits are crucial indicators of academic success. At the moment, faulty study habits press on the students into academic stress. The present study was conducted to identify the academic stress and study habits of university students of health science. Methods This cross-sectional descriptive survey was conducted among 150 undergraduate students of nursing, physiotherapy, and pharmacy (n = 50 in each group). A stratified random sampling technique was used to select the study participants. The information on academic stress and study habits was collected by using the Student Stress Inventory and Palsane and Sharma Study Habit Inventory, respectively. Results Mean score of academic stress was found to be 75.353 ± 16.463. Pharmacy students had a higher level of stress compared to physiotherapy and nursing students (p = 0.013). Furthermore, the prevalence of unsatisfactory study habits among undergraduate students was 72%, with a mean score of 52.7 ± 9.152. Also, nursing students had a higher level of study habits compared to physiotherapy and pharmacy Students. There was no significant relationship found between study habits and academic stress (r = −0.048, p = 0.557). There was a significant association found between study habits and gender (p = 0.021), as well the association found between stress level and course type, Pre-University Course percentage, and first-year percentage (p = 0.044, 0.04, and 0.044 respectively). Conclusion Academic stress and poor study habits are prevalent among undergraduate students. This indicates strategies need to be formed to enhance healthy study habits and alleviate the academic stress of the students, mainly in professional courses; it is an urgent need.

<p class="apa">The study examined ‘Students’ Involvement in Social Networking and attitudes towards its Integration into Teaching. The study was carried out in the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The population of the study consisted of 17,618 undergraduate students enrolled into full time degree programmes in the University of Uyo for 2014/2015 academic session. The design of the study was survey design with ex-post facto approach. Random sampling technique was used to select 1730 students from the 12 faculties in the University. The instrument used for the study was ‘Students’ Social Networking and Attitude Questionnaire which was validated by an expert in curriculum studies and an expert in measurement and evaluation in the University of Uyo. Cronbach’s Alpha Statistical method was used to determine the reliability coefficient of .70 for the instrument. Two research questions and two null hypotheses tested at .05 level of significance guided the study. Mean and Standard Deviation were used to answer research questions; Independent t-test and Analysis of Variance were used to test the hypotheses. The results show that there is significant difference in involvement of university undergraduate students in Social Networking based on course of study, level (year) of study and age. Female undergraduate students’ involvement in social networking is higher than that of their male counterparts; but male undergraduate students showed a higher positive attitude towards integration of social networking into teaching and learning.</p>

Background. The prevalence of disordered eating behaviors (DEBs) have increased worldwide. It is estimated that about 31.6% of Jordanian adolescents developed DEB. Engaging in peer groups is a prominent event in which adolescents try to belong to peers as part of exploring their social identity. Purpose. To assess the relationship between risk of eating disorders and peer pressure among adolescents. Methods. A descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional design utilized multistage cluster sampling technique was used to recruit students from 8th to 10th grades from both sexes from schools in northern Jordan. Data were collected from a self-administered, online questionnaire which was given to 738 participants. Results. The difference in overall mean of the Inventory of Peer Influence on Eating Concerns (I-PIEC) between adolescents with disordered eating behaviors and normal eating behaviors states was statistically significant. Scores for interaction peer pressure means were statistically higher for girls than for boys; conversely, likeability mean scores were statistically higher for boys than girls. Conclusions. The current findings suggest that healthcare professionals are encouraged to conduct appropriate school-based primary prevention for disordered eating behaviors.

The purpose of this research is to provide some insights into financial literacy among undergraduate students focusing primarily on the relationship between financial knowledge, financial attitudes and financial behavior and on possible gender and financial education gap in financial literacy. Using the purposive sampling technique, data collection was carried out from April to June 2020, yielding a sample of 1,046 valid responses. To gain a better understanding of the relationship between financial behaviour, financial attitudes and financial knowledge, we, primarily, use exploratory factor analysis and multiple regression model. The research findings have revealed several important issues. First, findings have suggested that financial knowledge, financial attitudes and gender may be considered as an antecedent of the financial behaviour of undergraduate students. Second, findings have also suggested a statistically - significant difference between the financial literacy of undergraduate students concerning their exposure to formal financial education.

The paper aims to develop the instrument about analogy test to measure the level of intelligence of undergraduate students. Determination of the number of samples is done by purposive sampling technique. This instrument is analyzed by factor analysis. Of the 15 items that will be used to develop the academic potential test instrument for verbal analogies, 4 analysis factors. The formation of these 4 factors is from Eigenvalues greater than 1 so that there are only 4 factors that fulfill the requirements. Furthermore, 15 items of the tested instrument to 91 undergraduate student respondents obtained 2 items of invalid instrument with correlation coefficient ≤0.3, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) and Bartlett's test amounted to 0.785 with p 0.05. Trial results from the results of the trial results obtained that the average validity of the questions is 96.8%. Test reliability was analyzed using the Alpha (α) formula of Cronbach. The calculation is done using the help of the IBM SPSS version 22.0 Windows program and the coefficient of 0.806 is obtained. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the quality of the developed instrument items has been valid and reliable.

ABSTRACT Excellent service is the attitude or way of service providers who play a major role in creating satisfaction for patients, so the hospital's effort to improve the quality of service and patient satisfaction is to implement service excellence. Factors that must be applied by nurses in providing excellent service, including abilities, attitudes, appearance, attention, action and accountability. This study aims to determine the description of excellent service nurses based on patient perceptions in the Talaga Bodas inpatient (Class 3 Male Disease) Kindergarten II Hospital 03.05.01 Dustira Cimahi City in 2019. The study design was an analytic survey. The total sample of 149 respondents using purposive sampling technique with inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection was performed using a Likert scale questionnaire method. Analysis of data through two stages, namely univariate to see the frequency distribution. The results showed as many as 80 respondents (53.7%) felt excellent service. It is recommended that each inpatient room has a standard operating procedure standard (SOP) so that all nurses know the steps - good steps to perform excellent service to increase patient satisfaction.
