The major purpose of the study was to measure the effect of scholarships on students’ social development at the university level. The study was descriptive, and the survey method was applied for the collection of data. The population consisted of all teachers and students of public and private universities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The total population of teachers in the public and private universities were 4073 and students were 101968. A stratified random sampling technique was applied for selecting the study sample. The researcher selected 525 teachers from public and private universities as well as 900 students from public and private universities. The researcher developed two questionnaires using a five-point Likert scale on the foundation of related literature and with the help of the supervisor. The validity of the instruments was checked by two experts in the field. The reliability of these instruments was determined through Cronbach’s alpha which was 0.832. Mean, standard deviation, t-test, and regression analysis were used for analyzing the data. It was found that scholarships are available at the public and private sector universities. It was also found that there was a significant effect of scholarships on students’ development. Therefore, it is recommended that scholarships may be spread on the university website, to guarantee students successful learning, higher education institutions will have to meet the challenges of student’s problems.

The study aimed to identify the status of applying the principles of accountability in the public and private universities in Jordan. This was done by comparing between Yarmouk University and Jerash University from the perspective of the employees. The study sample consisted of 250 faculty members and one administrator at Yarmouk University and Jerash University. The questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection. The study reached several conclusions, most notably of which include the presence of statistically significant differences in the reality of applying the accountability principles at universities in general, and in the administrative, and academic fields. This, however, is dependent on the variable of the university in favor of Jerash University. The study concluded on a number of recommendations most important of which is the necessity of activating the accountability mechanisms and tools in three areas: administrative, and academic areas of public universities in a higher degree. It also includes a commitment with unified criteria of accountability to ensure the maintenance of an acceptable level of justice and transparency.

Notwithstanding its importance to the success of businesses and industries, the external operating environment is hardly a subject of interest in the tourism literature. But understanding the operating environment is of major value when assessing the efficacy of tourism and its role as a vehicle for socio-economic transformation in any country. The present study, therefore, employs a qualitative design within a political economy framework to assess the current environment within which Ghana‟s tourism operates. Using unstructured in-depth interviews the study collates views from 10 senior tourism sector operatives representing both public and private sectors chosen through the purposive sampling technique. The findings suggest that the political and economic factors of the present operating environment combine to create a difficult operational theatre for both the public and private sector actors in tourism. By implication, therefore, the environment disables rather than enables the tourism trade and circumscribes its potential for expansion. To reverse the situation it is recommended that the existing organizational structures must be repositioned and also there must be a reorientation of the existing ideological and fiscal policies.

In the backdrop of growing diversity of educational programs and jobs this paper looks into the needs and realities of career counseling at the university level with particular reference to the public and private universities of Bangladesh. A sample of 72 universities was taken by random selection for the study. Qualitative data for six aspects of career counseling viz., existence of career counseling center, presence of professional career counselor, arrangement of career fair or job fair, internship placement services, job placement services, and existence of alumni association were then collected from the websites of these universities and/or over phone as was necessary. Collected data were analyzed using the statistical tools of tabulation, proportions, and chart. It was found that half of the universities of Bangladesh – both public and private – virtually do not have career counseling programs. The universities of Bangladesh need to recognize the importance of career counseling and employ attention and efforts in pertinent activities for their own interest.

In the enterprises, the fact that the employees are motivated well depends on their managers and the employees’ performance. Employees’ performance is supported through theories but the targets can be achieved by action. In managing the enterprises which continue their existence for attaining certain aims, it is quite important for them to be motivated in achieving success and efficiency. Motivation is a necessity. Its existence makes the enterprise reach its targets. Its absence vanquishes the enterprise from the market. The aim of using motivation factors is to make the employees be successful in all activity areas. In our study, it was elaborated on the motivation and performance differences of public and private sector enterprises, and it was seen that the motivation variables employed by the managers in different sectors display different performances by the managers in different sectors. Because of that this concept which has gained importance today in all areas and sectors involves economic and organizational factors which differ as to the enterprises ad play a role in the development of enterprises, these factors were elaborated in our research. In the name of examining the motivation and its factors, it was conducted a comparative practice based on the public and private sectors, and when the statistical results based on the data is considered, it was concluded that there is a significant difference. Motivation variables in the public sector have differences from the private sector in terms of practice and perception. When an examination is applied by including authority and laws and regulations, the mandatory practices harden the application of motivation factors and even make them impossible. It was concluded from this difference that motivation factors emerge a bit more in the public sector, but it was faced with problems in using them on behalf of the employee in practice. In our research, the survey method was used, and our study was analyzed in Statistics Program SPSS 17.0 medium. This research report is based on the factors affecting the purchasing decision of the students (consumers) of various public and private sector universities in Peshawar (Pakistan). The main objective of this study was to find out the impact of demographic factors such as gender, age and income on consumers purchasing decision. In this study the population was students of various private and public sector universities of Peshawar region. A sample of 250 students was drawn from population through proportionate random sampling technique. A questionnaire was designed and personally distributed among the subjects of sample. Independent samples T-test and ANOVA were used for data analysis. The findings lead to the conclusion that there is no significant relationship between consumers’ gender and age with purchasing decision while income of consumers significantly affects their purchasing decision.

Objective. To perform a bibliometric analysis of the national scholarly output of all dental schools in Peru in Scopus through a retrospective study after the promulgation of the Peruvian University Law 30220 in 2014. Methods. This was a descriptive, comparative, retrospective, and cross-sectional study. A search of the Scopus database was performed to identify scholarly output in dentistry between 2014 and 2019. A total of 287 scientific articles with affiliation with the dental faculties of Peruvian public and private universities were evaluated. The data was extracted from Scopus using a complex formula developed from the words of the thesaurus MeSh (Medline) and Emtree (base) with words related to dentistry combined with the AF-IDs of the Peruvian universities. Results. The Top 10 in the scholarly output of all the Peruvian public and private dental schools were as follows: firstly, the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH), with 79 scholarly outputs publications and 5.2 citations per article, followed by the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) with 53 scholarly outputs publications and 2.6 citations per article, and in third place, the Universidad Cientifica del Sur (UCSUR) with 49 scholarly outputs publications. In general, it was found that, of the 30 Faculties of Dentistry in Peru, only 10 in the public and private universities have a scholarly output greater than 5 to belong to the top 10. In addition, it was found that, according to the share of publications per journal quartile by the CiteScore Percentile of all the public and private Peruvian Faculties of Dentistry, in 2019, it presented the highest number of scientific publications in all quartiles with 20,33,14 and 43 articles in the quartiles Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4, respectively. The highest number of scientific publications was produced in 2019 with 20, 33, 14, and 43 articles in quartiles Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4, respectively. Conclusion. The UPCH, UNMSM, and UCSUR dental schools were the most productive. Both public and private universities presented an evident increase in their scientific publications in Scopus after the promulgation of the University Law 30220 in 2014.

The objective of the study was to find out relationship between perceived parenting styles of mothers and emotional intelligence among undergraduate students. Correlational research was selected as research design. The population of the study was undergraduate students of education department of public and private universities of Lahore. The total population was 1760. Proportionate stratified random sampling technique was used to select the sample. The strata were formed on the basis of nature of the university. The total number of students selected was 528. The instrument consisted of three parts; first part consisted of demographic information (gender, nature of institution, education of mother and working status of mother). The second part consisted of Parenting Authority Questionnaire (PAQ), designed by Buri (1991) which was used to measure parenting styles and the third part consisted of Emotional Intelligence questionnaire (EI) by Schutte (1998) which was used to measure emotional intelligence. Data was collected individually from participants through questionnaires by survey method. Both inferential and descriptive statistics were applied to analyze the data. Multiple regression analysis was used to determine the relationship between the variables and Independent sample t-test was used to determine the difference between the demographic variables.

Colombian basic, middle and higher education is governed by the Colombian Ministry of National Education (MEN). Higher Education Institutions are entities that have official recognition to be providers of the public service of higher education in the Colombian territory, whose legal nature is characterized by being of a public or private character. The former have general guardianship control as a public establishment and the latter enjoy constitutional and legal prerogatives that, even from the same jurisprudence, have had significant development in terms of scope, to the point of pointing out that these are organizations that belong to none of the branches of public power or private universities (2020). The current health crisis reveals the digital gap that was immersed in the Colombian educational system. According to the Ministry of Science and Technology -MINTIC, the digital gap is recognized as the socioeconomic difference between those communities that have access to ICTs and those that do not, in addition to the differences between groups according to their ability to use ICTs effectively, due to the different levels of literacy and technological capacity (MINTIC, 2019). Furthermore, this context implies that the digital gap is not closed in Colombia, as evidenced by the report on the digital gap monitoring project presented by MINTIC, but that until now the data on the digital divide is being configured to take action, idea that would be developed in this annuity. Despite this reality, the decision made worldwide was to continue with online classes regardless of the socioeconomic reality of the inhabitants in any region, and Colombia was no exception. Next, two experiences are described, developed in Colombian public and private universities, which are constituted in virtual training actions that incorporate methodological innovations in the development of classrooms in the human and exact sciences. From this reality, the experiences of the University of Pamplona and the University of the North in public and private virtuality are presented, respectively.

The purpose of this paper is to assess the determinants of financial wellness among employees in Sarawak. Samples are selected using multi-stage sampling technique among employees work at Kuching City and regression analysis is applied to examine the impacts of financial literacy, financial stress, and financial behavior towards the financial wellness among employees. A total of 300 questionnaires was distributed to the public and private sector employees with a response rate at 71 per cent. Generally, the results suggest that all determinants significantly affect the financial wellness of the workers. Additionally, education level is found important to the financial wellness among employees in Kuching, Sarawak.
