Summary Is often heard in informal meetings about the subject of mathematics and the past student, on some cases it is usually have answers that reflect apathy to the subject, express on unpleasant experiences, until you select careers that do not have to do with numbers or mathematical calculations. This has been reason of study for the authors of the investigation, who inquired about university students to know in detail, if the apathy is related with study careers that they have in the curriculum the least amount of subjects that involve the mathematics. The object of this work is determining the causes of the apathy to the mathematics in the university humanistic careers, for which the survey of university students was used as a research tool: Technical of Manabí and San Gregorio of Portoviejo, in the careers of Social Work and jurisprudence, identifying the main weakness of mathematics teachers to homogenize their work methodology, without considering that the group of studies, and the students are different, also adding that they make inadequate diagnoses, that the texts in spite of bringing motivational readings the attitude of the teachers do not contribute to a true motivation, generating indifference and rejection to the subject, concluding that apathy and little enthusiasm for the subject of mathematics is methodological responsibility of the teachers, which show pedagogical inadequacies to teach the lecture subject of study of this research. Concerning water activities, it was decided not to practice or just because they like them, followed by the wish to be in contact with the natural aquatic environment. The most practiced nautical activities are canoeing and swimming. In relation to the abandonment of the sport is clearly caused by the lack of time for study or work. Clearly the lack of time for study or work, seriously undermines adherence to physical activity, but there are very high percentages (62 %) who admit no laziness and unwillingness to practice, so you should seek new motivational strategies to increase adherence to physical activity sports. Keywords: Motivation; practice of physical and sports activity; nautical activities; Physical and sports habits; university student.

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to show how the ideas of the Brazilian educator Euclides Roxo, which were decisive for the educational reforms made by Francisco Campos and Gustavo Capanema belong to the "Escola Nova" movement and also follow the ideas of the German mathematician Felix Klein about the modernization of mathematics teaching. Euclides Roxo, contrary to the accepted mathematics teaching methods of his time, which were formal abstract and logic, proposes to take in account the students' interests, their cognitive level and stresses intuition and contextualization, postponing a rigorous treatment of the subject to more advanced school levels. Keywords: history of education in Brazil; history of mathematics teaching; Euclides Roxo.

Since the 1990s, the university space has been the subject of many discussions due to the introduction of communication technologies to the learning process, which has become significantly visible after the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic nowadays. These debates focus on the two extreme points ofwhether university space is necessary or not. In this regard, this research claims that the arguments on this topic are based on subject-object duality. It aims to develop a ground covering the discussions that oscillate between the two extremes by referring to sociomateriality, which advocates the interwovenness of subject and object. Adopting a retrospective perspective, itrediscovers the debates from the 1960s at the onto-epistemological levelthrough a sociomaterial lens. Finally, it situates the discussion on university space within the past-present-future dialogue.

ABSTRACT In the last few years, a discussion about university students´ employability has been generated by deep changes in the job market. The objective of this investigation has been to analyze employability with reference to sex, degree and employment situation, and to analyze its relation to the achievement perception. 297 students have participated in different levels of the Education Department of the University of Murcia. The tools that have been applied seek to explore the subjective self-perception on the employability performance, measuring skills and abilities expressed by the participants, and the perception (belief) of personal and professional conditions required by employers with reference to a potential job hiring. University students not only perceive that certain personal characteristics are necessary, but they also consider the requirements of their social and labor context. Also tested the existence of a statistically significant relation among employability perception and achievement expectations. The results have highly important practical implications aiming to improve the university students´ employability. Priority should focus to address the incorporation of vocational guidance in university plans of studies.

Abstract Recently, suicide among Bangladeshi university students has become a serious problem. However, to date, there have been no studies assessing suicidal behaviors among Bangladeshi students. Therefore, the present study investigated suicidal ideation (SI) and its risk factors among this population. A classroom-based convenience sampling method was utilized to survey 665 students of a university in Bangladesh (67.5% males; aged 21.16 years: SD ± 1.6). In addition to socio-demographic questions, the survey also included the Smartphone Application-Based Addiction Scale, Bergen Facebook Addiction Scale, and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale–21. Results showed that the prevalence of suicidal ideation was 2.3% in the past 24 h, 4.8% in the past 15 days, 6.9% in the past month, 14.7% in the past year, and 61.1% in the lifetime. The unadjusted regression model showed that being divorced (or separated) from a partner (OR = 4.486, 95% CI = 1.972–10.207, p < 0.0001), Facebook addiction (OR = 1.550, 95% CI = 1.006–2.388, p = 0.047), depression (OR = 1.657, 95% CI = 1.677–4.211, p < 0.0001), anxiety (OR = 2.649, 95% CI = 1.624–4.320, p < 0.0001), and stress (OR = 2.626, 95% CI = 1.673–4.122, p < 0.0001) were the risk factors of past-year SI. Compared with global prevalence rates, the present study reported higher levels of SI prevalence. Therefore, supportive suicide prevention programs are needed to tackle SI and alongside comorbid psychopathology.

In this article the author discusses the teaching of history in Iceland, first and foremost in relation to the environment in which the subject finds itself, the legislation relating to it and the curriculum. Curriculum development over the past decades is examined, in addition to changes in teaching material and the general attitudes that have influenced both of these from the time of the struggle for national independence in the former half of the twentieth century. There is a discussion of the disputes that have arisen as a result of tampering with the curriculum and teaching material in history in recent years, both when new emphases were introduced in the eighties and when history teaching in upper secondary schools was substantially reduced with the new curriculum in 1999. Considerable attention is given to history teaching in upper secondary schools, despite there being a dearth of research at this level. There is quite a degree of evidence that history is popular amongst Icelandic students and the public at large. In this article, an attempt is made to analyse the state of history as a school subject in Iceland, not least in the light of the extensive freedom enjoyed by teachers in their jobs, bearing in mind that there are no standardized exams in the subject and no supervision of teaching methods. At present there is a review of the curricula at all school levels in Iceland and the future of history as a subject is therefore rather uncertain.
